Hey guys. It's time to unload yet another chapter.
I've been looking into other things to keep me occupied whenever I decide to take a break from writing, mostly trying to look for inspiration and ideas. Also been getting into new hobbies like making plastic models, really good stuff.
Oh, and because of a recent update to the Digimon reference book, I can now continue this story without worry. Guess you can imagine who's up next, right?
Anyway, I apologize for the wait. Here's the next chapter.
Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon or the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. Both franchises belong to their respective companies.
Chapter 27: Wild Fire
At the Lastation Basilicom, Uni and the group returned back home so that they could rest up. When Noire asked how the day went, they explained how they encountered BlackTerriermon, who humbly introduced himself, and how they were attacked by a Gizumon that was hunting down the black rabbit Digimon. The raven haired CPU was very surprised by the news.
"I see... None of you were hurt, were you?", Noire asked.
"A few bruises here and there, but nothing too serious. We were lucky that Terriermon was around to help us out", said Uni.
"Ah, momentai~ I would do the same for anyone that's in trouble", said BlackTerriermon.
"Still, if I had known we'd get attacked like that, I would've brought FanBeemon with me", stated Peashy.
"Eh, I would've brought Numemon, but he isn't exactly good at fighting", added Linda.
"Well, at least you made it in one piece", said Noire with a smile as she sighed in relief.
The others smiled as well, but their faces quickly changed to looks of concern. The raven haired CPU saw this, becoming worried herself now.
"Something wrong?", she asked.
"It's just that... something seemed off about that Digimon", said Uni.
"What do you mean?", Noire inquired further.
"From what we saw, it seemed like that it was mainly after Terriermon", Peashy explained.
"And when I jumped in to try and help, it started targeting her too", Linda added, referring to Uni.
Noire placed a hand on her chin, now more concerned than ever. This information was was disturbing, to say the least. And from what she and the others had gathered, the attack was sudden and focused. But why? A valid question that would linger in their minds for a while. Then, the BlackTerriermon spoke up.
"I have something it wanted. That's why it was after me", he said.
Everyone stared at him quietly for a few seconds before Uni broke the silence.
"Now that I think about it, you never did tell us your story", she said.
"Yeah. Maybe if you tell us what's going on, we can help somehow", added Noire.
BlackTerriermon looked at everyone, not sure what to say at first, but eventually mustered up the courage to speak his tale.
"Back home, in the Digital World, I loved to explore my surroundings. Near my village, there was a cave that I wanted to venture into. Deep inside, there was a small pool of black liquid called Black Digitron", he said.
"Black Digitron?", Uni asked.
"From what my people told me, it's a substance that's brings about some mysterious properties. Others even say it has the potential to grant great power", the black rabbit Digimon explained.
He paused ominously for a few seconds before continuing.
"You see, I wasn't always a 'BlackTerriermon', as you all seem to call me. I was a normal Terriermon, like many of my people. When I found the Black Digitron, I was so curious as to what it was and why it was there that I accidently slipped and fell into it. And when I came back out, I saw that I became like this", BlackTerriermon said as he pointed at himself all over.
The girls were all amazed and surprised by this. There never would have thought that there would be a substance out there that would change a living being's form in such a way.
"Well I have to say, I like this look better", Linda commented.
"Did you feel any different after getting covered in this Black Digitron?", Peashy inquired.
"That's the thing. I don't think I did. But when I returned to my home village, everyone certainly started treating me differently", BlackTerriermon replied.
He face frowned with a hint of sadness as he thought back to his own kind.
"My friends, family, everyone... They all looked at me like I was some kind of disease. It was as I was an unwelcome alien in a foreign land. A few days later, I began to understand why..."
"What happened?", Uni asked worriedly.
"A group of mean Digimon that looked like they were part of an army raided our village in search of the Black Digitron. They called themselves the D-Brigade", the black rabbit Digimon said.
The girls gasped at this bit of information.
"Isn't that the group that SkullSatamon mentioned before he was destroyed?", Uni asked her sister.
"I think so. And from what Mirei said, they're supposed to be made up of dragon and cyborg Digimon", Noire replied.
"I don't know much about them, but when they came, they came in force. They destroyed our belongings and smashed our buildings into rubble. They even went as far as capturing my people. And anyone who tried to escape were hunted down and... never seen again...", BlackTerriermon muttered.
The group were horrified by this. They did not think that anyone was capable of such cruelty, and the very thought of the D-Brigade's actions made their blood boil. It was something that they would not tolerate in their world.
"But you somehow managed to escape", said Uni.
"Yeah, but I was just lucky. Sealsdramon had me dead to rights until a hole opened up right in front of me", said BlackTerriermon.
"Who's Sealsdramon?", Linda asked.
"He was the one who lead the raid on my village. He and he squad were tearing up the village just to find any trace of Black Digitron", the black rabbit Digimon answered.
"But that would mean...", said Peashy before trailing off.
Everyone felt like their hearts had sank as they all came to the same conclusion: BlackTerriermon was the reason why the D-Brigade had invaded his village in the Digital World. The black rabbit Digimon, knowing what everyone else was thinking, frowned again.
"I didn't even mean to get their attention. All I wanted was to live a normal life. And now I don't know what state my village is in now, or if my people are alright... I..."
BlackTerriermon then started to form tears in his eyes. The girls felt very sorry for him. He was now in another world, and he had no idea what his people are going through without him or if they're even alive. They looked at one another, not sure on what to do. Uni looked back at the Digimon and placed a hand on his head, giving him a comforting smile.
"Hey, it's like you said before. Just momentai. We'll find a way to help you somehow", she said.
BlackTerriermon looked up at her for a moment before smiling, his tears drying up.
"Yeah. Momentai!~", he said.
The others smiled, except for Linda, who sheepishly looked away, blushing a bit at the thought of smiling at a moment like this.
"Still, there's one thing I don't understand. What does the D-Brigade want with Black Digitron?", Noire pondered aloud.
"Well he did say that it's supposed to have mysterious properties. Maybe they're looking to use it for their own nefarious purposes somehow", said Peashy.
"Probably. Though I certainly hope not", the raven haired CPU commented.
"But how are they even going to extract it from Terriermon?", Uni asked.
"Not with anything gentle, I think", said Linda grimly.
"Well we're not gonna let anything happen to him! We'll help him no matter what!", Uni exclaimed.
Everyone nodded in agreement, including BlackTerriermon, who was smiling cheerfully again.
"Thanks. Uni, was it? I think we're gonna be great friends!", he said.
The CPU Candidate smiled at this. She then thought if this was what it felt like to have a Digimon for a friend, just like most of the others. Uni even wondered if she and BlackTerriermon were meant to meet each other, as friends and as partners. But if they were meant to be partners, could she live up to the responsibility? As she was thinking this, an alert suddenly started going off. The alert sounded like a beeping noise one would hear on a phone.
"What's that?", asked Uni.
"It's an alert from the Digivice", Noire answered. "I was tinkering around with when I was with Nepgear once. She said she may have figured out how to detect any Digimon activity nearby."
She pulled out her Digivice and turned on its small screen. The raven haired CPU then activated what appeared to be a miniature map detailing the layout of Lastation. On the map was a blue dot, indicating the group's current position, while in another direction was a blinking red dot, signifying the unknown Digimon activity.
"Whatever's happening, judging by the position, it's coming from the oil refinery in the industrial zone", Noire said.
Everyone shivered at the thought. If something were to damage the facilities there, major trouble would ensue.
"We better get there immediately", said Peashy.
"You don't have your Digimon with you. I think you should stay back for this one", said Noire sternly.
"Fine by me. I don't want to get involved in this", said Linda.
Peashy was reluctant at first, but she nodded in the end. Noire then turned to go find Dracomon so that they can investigate the matter. Uni looked back to BlackTerriermon.
"She may need some help. Why don't we give her a hand?", she said.
"I'm with you there. Let's go!", said the black rabbit Digimon.
They hurried out of the room to join up with the Lastation CPU. They could only hope that they wouldn't be too late to stop the danger.
At the oil refinery, alarms were going off and workers were fleeing for their lives. Normally when the alarms go off, there would usually be something wrong with some type of machinery or some other anomaly involving the oil tanks. However nothing seemed to be wrong with them, yet. So what could cause such a ruckus to the point where someone had to sound the alarm and have the workers evacuate?
The answer soon came walking along the ground near one of the oil tanks. It looked like a dragon-like creature with with three claws on each hand, two toes on each foot, and a long tail. It also looked like its entire body was covered in flames, except for a metal plating on its head. Its red eyes glared as it roared ferociously.
"Raaaahhhh! Burn, burn, burn!", it parroted as its body flared up with more flames.
It them spewed out a stream of fire from its mouth, burning anything in the way. Grass and wood burned up, and metal started melting away. As the fire started to spread around, the flames were getting dangerously close to one of the large oil tanks. The flaming monster roared again as he spewed more fire at another spot, burning anything that was in the way.
Soon enough, the Lastation CPUs and their Digimon friends saw the commotion going on. They were shocked to see the flaming monster burning everything in sight. Noire pointed her Digivice at the creature, scanning it before getting a detailed file on the monster via a holographic image.
"It's called FlareLizamon. A flaming dragon Digimon. His heart burns with everlasting intensity, and his flames are hotter than a wildfire", Noire explained.
"This is a bad setting, sis. If that thing keeps burning everything, it'll be a disaster!", Uni exclaimed.
"Not if we have anything to say about it! Let's get him!", said Dracomon.
They rushed in towards the direction of FlareLizamon, hoping to stop him before he could cause anymore damage. He looked over his shoulder and snorted as he saw the group coming. He turned to face them when they stopped in front of him.
"Who are you? Are you here to fan the flames, or be burned to ashes?", FlareLizamon asked.
"We're the CPUs of Lastation! We're here to stop this place from burning down!", Noire exclaimed.
"No way! My fire can never be extinguished! Now get out of my way, or get burned!", the flaming Digimon growled.
"Don't you understand that we're standing in the middle of a tinder box? If you keep spreading fire everywhere over here, this whole place could blow up!", Uni shouted.
"Yeah! You have to stop this! Lives could be lost!", added BlackTerriermon.
"I must have fire to fuel my body. I won't have anyone or anything getting in my way! Blaze Buster!", FlareLizamon roared as he spewed a stream of fire balls at the group.
Everyone spread out to get away from the attack. A stray fire ball grazed Noire's hair, causing it to ignite. The Lastation CPU screeched as she tried to put out the flames with her hands. After a few seconds, she managed to stop her hair from burning. However, some of it managed to become singed, and her hands were red with burn marks.
"Alright you asked for it! Access, HDD!", Noire exclaimed.
Soon she was covered in a bright light, and her appearance began to change. Her red eyes became green, her black hair became white, and her dress turned into a black suit. Armor pieces formed around her body, futuristic wings formed behind her back, and a large sword of similar design materialized in her hands. After her transformation was complete, she looked towards her sister, who nodded at her, knowing what to do.
"Access, HDD!", Uni yelled.
Now her body became engulfed in light. Her eye changed from red to green, and her raven-colored twin tails became white twin drills. Her dress became a black suit similar to her sister's, small armor pieces and wings appeared around her, and a large futuristic rifle materialized in her hands. BlackTerriermon was impressed by the Lastation CPUs change of appearance.
"Wow! I didn't know humans could Digivolve too!", said the black rabbit Digimon.
"Well, technically, it's not a Digivolution", said Black Sister.
"Speaking of Digivolution, you better get in there too, Dracomomn", Black Heart stated.
"Right!", said Dracomon.
The Lastation CPU raised her Digivice and aimed it at the small dragon Digimon. It glowed in a blue light as it hummed with energy.
"Digivolve!", she exclaimed.
A stream of light shot out towards Dracomon, engulfing him as he began his Digivolution sequence.
"Dracomon, Digivolve to...!", he shouted.
Soon his body became bigger as his appearance changed. His scales turned blue, his arms, legs, wings, and tail grew bigger, and his horns became longer, with a third horn growing on his snout. He roared as his Digivolution process finished.
"Coredramon!", he exclaimed.
The group stared down at FlareLizamon, who was not impressed by their change. He growled as his flaming body flared up with more intensity.
"Blaze Buster!", he roared as he spewed another wave of fire balls at the group.
They split up again, barely avoiding the attack. However, they noticed that the fire blast got dangerously close to another oil tank. Luckily it did not make direct contact. Nonetheless, the very presence of the flames was worrying.
"We can't let even one of those tanks blow up!", yelled Black Heart.
Coredramon charged at the flaming Digimon, swiping at him with his claws. FlareLizamon bite down on one of his limbs, burning his arm with his blazing mouth as a result. The blue dragon Digimon roared in pain as he smacked his attacker away, who skidded along the ground, leaving behind a scorched trail. Coredramon then reared up for his own attack.
"Blue Flare-", he was about to say, but Black Heart suddenly jumped in front of him.
'Coredramon, wait! You might hit one of the oil tanks here!", she warned.
The blue dragon Digimon halted his attack, the blue flames in his mouth dying out. He sweated a bit, thinking how close he came to a major disaster. It was now clear to both him and the others that they had to find a way to stop FlareLizamon without destroying the facility in the process.
"Well, if you're not going to attack, then I will! Fire Tower!", FlareLizamon yelled.
The flames on his body erupted and hurled towards Coredramon, trapping him inside a pillar of fire. The blue dragon Digimon's body began to burn all over as time passed, causing him to yell in pain. Black Heart rushed towards the flaming Digimon, her sword ready in hand.
"Leave him alone!", the Lastation CPU cried as she started swinging her sword at FlareLizamon.
Her blade hit the flaming Digimon a few times before he moved out of the way, annoyed by her interference.
"Raaahhh! You will burn for that!", he growled before spraying a stream of fire from his mouth.
Black Heart shielded herself with her sword, trying to fight back against the blaze. She could feel herself sweat under the intense heat. Meanwhile, Black Sister took aim with her rifle, her sights staring down at FlareLizamon. But as she held her finger over the trigger, her hands began to tremble. She was starting to hesitate. She was worried about hitting an oil tank by accident. BlackTerriermon noticed her hesitation and looked up at her.
"What's wrong, Uni? You got a clear shot", he said.
"I... I can't! I may be a good shot, but I'm too afraid of blowing up the oil tanks by accident!", Black Sister said.
"Momentai! You can do this! I know you can!", BlackTerriermon encouraged.
The CPU Candidate looked down at him, then looked back at FlareLizamon, who was still attacking both her sister and Coredramon. She wondered if she could actually do it. Normally it would be no problem for her. But this time the stakes were different. If she misses, the consequences would be immeasurable. She was now starting to doubt her abilities. As she was still thinking, Black Sister noticed the black rabbit Digimon rushing towards the action.
"Hey, what are you doing?!", she yelled out to him.
"Giving you a hand!", BlackTerriermon replied.
He ran up to the flaming Digimon, who was still busy attacking both Black Heart and Coredramon. He got behind the monster and charged up his attack.
"Bunny Blast!", he exclaimed as he shot a energy blast from his mouth.
It hit FlareLizamon's back, distracting him from his targets. He turned to face BlackTerriermon, who stared back at his red eyes. He snorted as his body flared up again.
"Buzz off, you pest!", he said.
"Why don't you come and make me!", the black rabbit Digimon said.
"If you insist! Blaze Buster!", FlareLizamon growled as he breathed a wave of fire balls at BlackTerriermon, who jumped out of the way.
Then the black rabbit Digimon started making a face at FlareLizamon, which annoyed the flaming Digimon. He started chasing down the rabbit, making Black Sister worry about his safety.
"He's just a Rookie, he's no match for him!", she thought. "Wait a minute..."
The CPU Candidate noticed something about the way BlackTerriermon was moving. It looked like he was leading FlareLizamon away from the oil tanks. That's when she made the realization.
"Now I get it! He's giving me a chance to fire!", Black Sister thought.
As BlackTerriermon lead the flaming Digimon away, both Black Heart and Coredramon looked on in amazement, while Black Sister took this opportunity to take aim with her rifle.
"He's risking his own life to save us. Now it's my turn to help him. I won't waste this shot!", the white haired Candidate.
Her weapon started to chare up with energy as she aimed her sights at FlareLizamon, who was starting to catch up to BlackTerriermon. He eventually smacked the black rabbit Digimon with a swipe of his flaming claws. BlackTerriermon yelped in response to the burning pain. The flaming Digimon towered over him.
"Prepare to get scorched!", FlareLizamon roared.
"Uh-oh...", said BlackTerriermon, shutting his eyes in terror.
Black Sister saw what was happening and she knew that she had to act fast. Her opportunity soon came as her weapon finished charging. She saw that her target was clear of the oil tanks. It was now or never. She curled her finger around the trigger and pulled.
"EX Multi Blaster, fire!", the Lastation Candidate exclaimed as she fired a large blue beam from her rifle.
As FlareLizamon was about to finish off BlackTerriermon, he heard a noise coming towards him. He turned towards the sound, only to see a stream of energy coming straight at him! Unable to react in time, he was hit by the blast, which pushed him quite a distance. The beam would blow him a good distance away from the oil tanks, straight to an open field. When the beam dissipated, the flaming Digimon fell over, groaning in pain.
"Yeah! She did it!", cheered Coredramon.
"Way to go, Uni!", praised Black Heart.
Black Sister then rushed over to BlackTerriermon, making sure that he was alright. The black rabbit Digimon got back up, smiling as he saw the white haired Candidate coming to him.
"Are you alright?", Black Sister asked.
"Momentai~ A little rough-housing like that won't do me in", BlackTerriermon said cheerfully.
"I'm still surprised that you would risk your life like that", the Lastation Candidate said.
"You were willing to do the same for me when we were attacked by that Gizumon. If we're meant to be friends or partners, then that's what they do for each other. They look out for one another, no matter what", stated BlackTerriermon.
Black Sister was stunned a bit by this, but she knew that he was right. She smiled brightly, and she raised a hand, signaling a hi-five. Raising his small hand, the black rabbit Digimon clapped his hand with the Candidate, causing them both to giggle. Suddenly, a small light glowed above them. Everyone looked up as they saw what the light was.
"What is that?", Coredramon inquired.
"I think we both know the answer to that", stated Black Heart, smiling at her sister.
The small light floated down towards Black Sister. Her face changed to that of awe and curiosity as she held out her hands. The light entered her hands before diminishing, replaced by something else that shocked her. A rectangular grey & black device with a small screen on it was in the palms of her hands. Recognizing the shape and build, she knew what it was.
"My own Digivice!", the Lastation Candidate exclaimed excitedly.
"Well, if that doesn't tell you we're partners, I don't know what will", said BlackTerriermon.
Sadly there was no time to celebrate, as everyone heard a loud roaring coming from the direction that Black Sister had blasted FlareLizamon with her attack. The flaming Digimon's body was flaring up like no tomorrow, and his eyes glowed red with seething fury. He roared again with anger as he started coming back to the oil industry.
"You now made me so made! I'll turn you all into ashes!", FlareLizamon yelled.
The group got in front of him, preventing him from going any further. Black Heart and Coredramon charged towards the burning Digimon, preparing for another round with the monster.
"Uni, you and BlackTerriermon get ready!", Black Heart called out to her sister.
Black Sister nodded before turning to her new Digimon partner.
"You ready for this?", she asked.
"You bet!", exclaimed BlackTerriermon.
The CPU Candidate raised her Digivice and aimed it at the black rabbit Digimon, a grey light starting to glow. Soon she called out the passcode.
"Digivolve!"
A grey stream of light shot out of the Digivice and engulfed BlackTerriermon. His Digivolution sequence was beginning.
"BlackTerriermon, Digivolve to...!", he exclaimed.
Soon his body began to grow bigger, a bout a few feet taller than an adult human, and his appearance started changing. He now had black and brown fur, and his ears were bigger and longer. He was now wearing dark green cargo pants with a brown belt holding them up, and a bullet belt appeared around his torso. His hands were replaced with large metal cylinders that looked like gatling guns with small hand-like grabbers in the center. His face had two red lines on his cheeks, and a red jewel formed on his forehead.
"BlackGargomon!", he said as his Digivolution sequence finished.
Black Sister smirked, liking the looks of his new Champion form. They nodded at one another before charging into battle. They were now ready to win.
Meanwhile, Black Heart and Coredramon pressed on their attack. Now that they were further away from the oil tanks, they were clear to let lose on the flaming Digimon. The white haired Goddess slashed away at FlareLizamon with powerful strikes, then Coredramon smashes him with his tail. The burning monster growled with anger.
"Fire Tower!", FlareLizamon exclaimed as he blasted a pillar of flames at the pair.
They tried to move out of the way, but both of them were caught in the blaze, taking some burns from the intense heat. Just as the flaming Digimon was about to attack again, he was pushed back by laser fire from both Black Sister and BlackGargomon. They got in between the burning monster and the Lastation CPU and her blue dragon Digimon.
"You're going down!", Black Sister shouted as she opened fire on the flaming Digimon.
"Gargo Laser!", BlackGargomon yelled as his gatling arms fired multiple green pellets in rapid succession.
FlareLizamon tried to move away and attack, but the continuous firepower was preventing him from doing anything. He took several hits as he was pushed back, unable to find a pause in the unrelenting assault. Then BlackGargomon rushed towards him, his gatling arms at the ready.
"Dumdum Upper!", he yelled as he delivered an explosive uppercut to FlareLizamon.
The flaming Digimon roared in pain as he was sent into the air. Black Heart and Coredramon took this opportunity to make make their attack. The white haired Goddess's sword became covered in a rainbow of energy as she moved in.
"Tornado Sword!", she exclaimed as she struck at the flaming Digimon with great force, causing a fair amount of damage.
"Blue Flare Breath!", shouted Coredramon as he blasted a blue stream of fire at FlareLizamon.
Although he was a Digimon made of fire, the flaming Digimon's body was no match for the blue dragon Digimon's attack. Finally, Black Sister took to the air and charged up her weapon as she took aim at FlareLizamon.
"Brave Cannon!", she roared as she opened fire with a blue stream of energy, much bigger than that of her EX Multi Blaster.
The stream was too much for the flaming Digimon as he roared in pain. The attack blasted him down back to the ground, creating an explosion in the process. Everyone shielded themselves from the debris. When the dust cleared, they could see FlareLizamon in the blast crater, his burning body starting to dim a bit. He struggled to get up, while everyone got ready for another attack. Thankfully, however, that would not be the case.
"Alright, alright! I've had enough! Just stop it already!", he said in a defeated tone.
The group looked at one another, unsure of what to do other than to take caution. They approached carefully as the flaming Digimon managed to get himself back up.
"Why'd you do it? What makes you think you can attack an oil facility like this?", Black Heart asked.
"I was looking for something to burn to fuel my body with. You don't think this burning body can last forever, do you?", FlareLizamon said.
"Well you're in the wrong place to burn stuff. If you went and burned everything in sight, this whole place could blow up", Black Sister explained.
The flaming Digimon had a shocked expression on his face. He now realized how close he was to a disaster he could've caused. If he had not stopped, then he, the CPUs and anyone else nearby would've been caught in a fireball of destruction. He face changed to an apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry. I had no idea. I never meant any real harm", FlareLizamon apologized.
Everyone felt a bit bad for the flaming Digimon. They were relieved, though, that he was able to see sense before something bad happened.
"Momentai~ At least nothing serious was destroyed", said BlackGargomon.
"Do you have any idea how you got here in the first place?", asked Black Heart.
"All I know is that I got here via a strange hole opened up and sucked me in. Next thing I know, I ended up here", said FlareLizamon, referring to the oil facility.
"So now you can't find your way back to the Digital World?", Coredramon asked.
"Yes. I wasn't sure how to get back. To make matters worse, my fire was dying out. So in the end, I figured I had to do what I could to survive", the flaming Digimon stated.
"Don't worry. I think we have a solution", said Black Sister.
She then pointed her Digivice around, apparently looking for something. After a few seconds, it started to glow when it was aimed at a certain direction. The white haired Candidate followed where the light was pointing, gesturing everyone to go with her. When the light from her Digivice glowed brighter, she stopped.
"So, just like how you did it, Noire?", she asked her sister.
"Yes. Just aim and it will do the rest", said Black Heart.
Black Sister nodded as she pointed the Digivice at the spot where the light was pointing. Then the light shot out from her device, stopping a couple of yards before creating a swirling vortex in the air. Everyone were amazed by the feat, especially the Digimon.
"I don't know how long it'll last, so I think it's best you go through it quickly", said Black Sister.
FlareLizamon was speechless at first, but he grinned as he went towards the vortex. Before he stepped through, however, he turned back to the CPUs and their Digimon.
"Thank you all so much. I'll be more careful about what I burn", he said before going through the portal.
After FlareLizamon had gone through the portal, it started shrinking for a few seconds before vanishing completely. The CPUs and their Digimon smiled, knowing that the ordeal was over. Suddenly, they started to hear another noise. It sounded like sirens and horns blaring in the distance. The Lastation CPUs had no doubt that it was the fire department arriving on the scene. They knew it was time to take their leave, as they knew that they would have things under control.
"Alright, let's get out of here everyone", said Black Heart.
They all nodded as they started to move out of the area. They all agreed that a bath was in order, seeing as how the heat from the battle with FlareLizamon worked up quite a sweat.
Later that night, after treating their burns and getting cleaned up, they received the report from the incident at the oil facility. Although some areas had been burned up by FlareLizamon, nothing major had been damaged. In the end, the facility had managed to remain intact, thanks to the efforts of the Lastation CPUs and their Digimon.
Afterwards, everyone in the Basilicom had retired for the night, except for Uni and BlackTerriermon. They were still up and about in the Candidate's room. She was showing off her hobby as a gun enthusiast, and various other things she did in her spare time when she wasn't performing her duties as a CPU Candidate. Needless to say, the black rabbit Digimon was impressed.
"So why show me this hobby?", he asked, referring to Uni's gun hobby.
"When I saw your Champion form, I thought it looked so cool. Who would've thought that your Digivolution could do all that?", said the raven haired Candidate.
"Momentai~ It's not that impressive", BlackTerriermon waved off.
"To me, anyone who can go in guns blazing like that is a friend in my book", Uni complimented.
Both of them smiled at one another, but the black rabbit Digimons smile soon turned into a frown afterwards. Uni saw this and wondered what was wrong.
"Is something the matter?", she inquired.
"It's just that... when FlareLizamon went back to the Digital World... A part of me wanted to go back with him", Black Terriermon said sadly.
Uni felt bad for her Digimon partner. He was still thinking about what had happened to his home in the Digital World, and if his people where still alright. The raven haired Candidate couldn't imagine the amount worry and grief he was going through. She smiled again as she place a hand on top of her partner's head.
"Don't worry. We'll find a way to get to the Digital World, and we'll save your friends", she reassured.
BlackTerriermon stared at her, smiled and nodded, knowing that she was right. He didn't know how long it would take them, but he, the CPUs and the other Digimon would find a way to get to the Digital World, stop whatever crisis has befallen upon the world, and save everyone in the end.
"Now come on. I think I got some games we could play together for a bit", said Uni cheerfully.
"Okay!", said BlackTerriermon excitedly.
As they searched for something to do, someone was peeking through the Candidate's door. Silently watching the two, Noire wanted to see what they were up to. She smiled when she saw Uni cheer up her new partner. She wondered if she could have an interaction like that with her Digimon partner. Then, as if on cue, Dracomon came up behind her.
"What are you up to, Noire?", he asked quietly.
The raven haired CPU stammered and sputtered quietly for a bit as she turned to face her partner, not sure about what to say.
"I-I wasn't doing anything! I-It's not like I was keeping an eye on my sister and her new friend or anything!", Noire muttered, making Dracomon giggle.
In the Planetune Basilicom, Neptune was sound asleep in her room when she suddenly sneezed. The sound of her own sneeze was enough to wake her up from her slumber. She lazily moved up from her bed, slowly opening her eyes. The lilac haired girl blinked a couple of times before looking around.
"Hmm... Something tells me that a tsundere moment just occurred, and I wasn't around to witness it", Neptune said to herself.
She hummed to herself, wondering if her hunch was right or not. She shrugged in the end, thinking it was probably nothing.
"Oh well. I think I might go bug Noire tomorrow. Maybe even tease her a bit too. Hehehe!", the lilac haired CPU said.
She then laid herself back on her bed and started to go back to sleep, possibly dreaming of pudding again.
Somewhere in the Digital World, a dark castle was overlooking the landscape. Staring out towards the world from a balcony, a yellow eyed being clad in indigo and dark grey armor with an indigo colored cape was standing by himself. His eyes coldly shifted towards the sky, looking out towards what could be beyond it. He could only think of one thing that comes to mind: the world of Gameindustri.
In his mind, he knew that even now, the CPUs in that world were planning to figure out a way to enter the Digital World. He still wondered why his master wanted them to succeed in doing so. Even though his master claimed that it would be easier to do so in this world, he still had some doubts. However, he would not dare question his master, so he decided to go along with the suggestion.
Nonetheless, he felt that he should give the CPUs and their Digimon some added pressure, to remind them of what they're up against. And he had an idea of just what to do. As he was still thinking to himself, a door opened up behind him. He looked to who it was, he saw that it was "Mr. A.", smiling devilishly.
"There you are, Analogman", the armored being said.
"My lord, testing of the Digital Gate is nearing completion", Analogman announced.
"Excellent. Is the D-Brigade ready?", his master inquired.
"Yes. However, without another gate to use on the other side, it'll be a one way trip. Are you sure that-", Analogman said before being cutoff.
"I'm well aware. They have their orders. They will destroy the CPUs, or they will be destroyed themselves. Either way, the results will be interesting", said the armored being.
Analogman stared at him at first, then smiled and bowed his head in acknowledgement.
"As you decree, my lord", he said before turning to leave.
"Before you go, I would like for you to prepare a message from me to send to the CPUs, in the event that they survive", the armored being said.
"Very well, ChaosDukemon", said Analogman said.
The dark knight smirked underneath his helmet. He was ready to test the CPU's resolve. And no matter what the result would be, he would lose nothing in the end...
And that's it for this chapter. Towards the end of this, I felt like I wanted to keep on adding more to this. And then the holidays started coming around, along with some new stuff I been getting. Oh, and id I forget to mention that right after Thanksgiving had ended, I caught a cold before I left for home? Needless to say, a lot of stuff had happened that kept me away from my story for a while, so I do apologize for taking so long with this. And don't worry, I'm over my cold now. Although I still have a bit of a lingering cough, but it's nothing to worry about. Even a little cold won't stop me from making chapters.
So, it looks like our big bad guy is up to something big again, and it isn't good. Better look out, CPUs. You and your Digimon's lives are about to get a lot more complicated.
We'll see what happens in the next chapter. Until then, be sure to leave a review for this chapter, and follow for more if you haven't already. See you next time. Keep on Nepping, and happy holidays to you all!
