Chapter 28: Invasion
In the Planetune Basilicom, Histoire was sitting in the main living room. She was waiting on Neptune and the other CPUs to arrive, as she had called them all to the Basilicom for something urgent. Most of them had arrived, mainly Peashy, Linda, and the Candidates, as well as the Digimon they all had. They were busy chatting away with one another, even talking about Uni's new Digimon partner, BlackTerriermon.
"He really looks so cute, Uni!", Nepgear remarked.
"Ugh, I'm so jealous! When am I going to get a Digimon myself?", Ram pouted.
"I want one, too", Rom added.
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get one eventually", said Uni reassuringly.
"Yeah. Just momentai, as I always say", added BlackTerriermon.
"It would seem plausible that a Digimon will become you're partner in the future", stated Hagurumon.
"If you ask me, you'd be better off without one, especially if you end up with one like Numemon", Linda remarked.
"Hey! I happen to be a very handsome Digimon!", The Digimon in question exclaimed.
"Yeah, no offense, but you're pretty much the weakest one out of us all", the green haired girl stated.
Numemon just knelt his face down in humiliation. Peashy and FanBeemon just laughed nervously, unsure if they should agree with Linda or cheer up the slime Digimon. As everyone was still talking with one another, the main door had opened. The rest of the CPUs had arrived, with their Digimon in tow.
"I told you before, Neptune. You are not having a sleepover at my Basilicom", said Noire.
"Oh, come on. Don't be a party pooper, Noire. You know you want one, but you're just too stuck up to admit it", said Neptune.
"It's not like I want to have company over! I happened to be busy with something, you know", the raven haired Goddess sputtered.
"I suppose being busy with Neptune counts as 'something', does it not?", said Vert with a smirk.
"Not to mention that it took you too forever to get over here. Just what were you both up to, I wonder?", Blanc asked while smiling cheekily.
"W-We didn't do anything! Stop thinking like that! Ugh!", Noire scowled.
The other CPUs just giggled teasingly, while the raven haired Goddess blushed in frustration. Their Digimon looked at each other, unsure of what they were talking about. When everyone was together, Histoire cleared her throat to get their attention.
"If I may have everyone's attention, I would like to inform you all of a major development", she said.
"So, what's up, Histy? Are we getting a new series or game or what?", asked Neptune.
"Um, no... I have received a message from Mirei via an email. She said to bring you all together so that she can speak with you", the tome explained.
"Has she figured out a way for us to enter the Digital World?", Nepgear inquired.
"I don't know. She didn't say. But I'm sure she'll explain what is going on", Histoire replied.
As if on cue, one of the CPU's Digivices started beeping. Neptune pulled out her device, revealing that she was receiving a transmission from somewhere. Pressing a button, she connected the call to the Digivice, activating a hologram of Mirei.
"Greetings, CPUs. I trust you are all doing well?", she asked.
"Yes indeed. It's good to hear from you again", said Vert.
"Likewise. As much as I'd like to have a leisurely chat with you all, I'm afraid news must come first", Mirei said.
"Have you found a way to get us to the Digital World yet?", Noire asked.
"Glad you asked. I think I may have figured out a surefire solution", said the purple haired woman as she adjusted her glasses.
"Well, don't keep us all in suspense. What information have you found?", Blanc insisted.
Mirei cleared her throat as she began her explanation.
"As I'm sure you all know, your Digivices were able to scan for traces of a Digital Gate and open one temporarily. Normally a Gate can appear randomly due to the effects of the border between the Digital World and Gameindustri being close together with one another, and if opened by the power of your Digivices, the lingering traces of the Digital Gate will dissipate more rapidly upon opening up. After some extensive analysis from the data of your Digivices, I may have figured out a way to open up a Digital Gate without having to use the lingering traces of a randomly generated Gate."
"Awesomeness! And that's why we need a brainiac in our team! Although I didn't get what she said, it sure sounded smart, that's for sure", said Neptune.
"Neptune, please at least try to pay attention", Histoire sighed.
"Oh come on, Histy. You know how thinking and big words make my head spin sometimes", the lilac haired CPU replied.
"Ehehe... That's my sister for you", Nepgear laughed nervously.
Mirei just raised an eyebrow at the little event in front of her before clearing her throat again.
"So how do we open a Digital Gate manually?", asked Uni, trying to steer the conversation back on track.
"I'm currently sending the relevant data to your Digivices now. If my math is right, it should allow your Digivices to open up a portal without having to rely on a randomly generated Digital Gate", said Mirei.
Everyone cheered excitedly, especially their Digimon, who were the most excited. Not only were they soon about to head back to their home world, but they could be able to show their CPU friends all the sights and sounds of the Digital World.
"Alright! We're going home!", said Dorumon.
"It looks like things are going our way today", added Ryudamon.
"This is the best news I've heard all day!", Dracomon exclaimed.
"It is a welcome surprise, that's for sure!", said Blucomon.
"Finally, I can go home! I'm so happy I might cry!", Lalamon cheered.
"Please don't cry next to me. Your tears might rust up my parts", stated Hagurumon.
"And to think, I was just getting used to living in this world", said BlackTerriermon.
"I can't believe it's finally happening! I'm so excited!", FanBeemon buzzed.
"Wait until I show all my junk collection back home", said Numemon.
Everyone was excited about the prospect of entering the Digital World, exploring a new world that was so unlike their own, and meeting new forms of life that inhabit it. As they were wondering what they'll do when they reach the Digital World, Mirei started to speak up again.
"Don't get your hopes up just yet. I don't fully know what the results will be, so I recommend that stay as a group when you open a Digital Gate", she instructed.
The CPUs and their Digimon nodded, knowing full well that they should not make any mistakes. The purple haired woman adjusted her glasses again before continuing.
"Now before we decide to open up a gate ourselves, there's another urgent matter we need to discuss", she said.
"Oh, another event flag! Lay it on us", said Neptune.
"I've been detecting a massive build-up of Digital Waves outside Planetune. It would seem that the D-Brigade has finally managed to complete their own Digital Gate in the Digital World, and have already begun a beta test for their invasion force", Mirei said grimly.
Everyone had a shocked expression on their faces. They didn't think the D-Brigade would invade so soon. And if they had managed to create a working Digital Gate, then it would spell trouble for Gameindustri. However, there was one thing that puzzled them.
"Didn't we shut down the Digital Gate that SkullSatamon tried to use? Without it, the D-Brigade will be trapped here", asked Uzume.
"That might be the point. They'll want to send in an attack group to take one of your lands and hold it down until their main force arrives", said Mirei.
"Even if it isn't their main force, we can't let the D-Brigade take Gameindustri. We have to stop them!", said Uni.
"Yeah! I already lost one home to them! I won't let them destroy another one!", added BlackTerriermon.
"I've calculated the coordinates they're using to enter your world. If it's possible, you must send them back to where they came. But I don't expect that to happen", said Mirei.
"Do not worry, Mirei. The D-Brigade will not reach Planetune under our watch", said Histoire.
"Good. It's up to you to stop them in their tracks. We'll talk again when the conflict is over. Goodbye for now", Mirei stated.
Her hologram started to fade, then disappeared after a few seconds. Histoire sighed before she turned to the CPUs.
"Everyone, you must ensure that the D-Brigade do not reach Planetune at all costs", she said.
"Don't get your panties in a knot. We'll go over there, get Digi-Morphed and stuff, and knock the stuffing outta them", said Neptune.
"You can count on us and our Digimon", said Nepgear.
"That's good. Now please, hurry to where they'll be arriving and put a halt to their invasion", the tome said.
Everyone nodded and hurried out of the Basilicom, their objectives made clear to them. As they started to leave Peashy and FanBeemon stopped, looking back at one another, then back to the group. Histoire noticed this and went up to them.
"What's wrong, Peashy?", she asked.
The blonde haired girl stared at Histoire for a moment, hesitating to speak up, but eventually found her voice.
"...Is it okay for me and FanBeemon to stay out of this?", said Peashy.
"Why? Is something the matter?", Histoire inquired.
"It's just that... I'm afraid of what will happen if I let my friend Digivolve", Peashy explained.
Histoire then remembered the story the others had said, telling her how the blonde haired girl once Digivolved FanBeemon and that he went rampant as a result. It was some troubling news, considering that she and her insect Digimon could be a great ally. Still, she wondered if the incident she went through was the main reason.
"Peashy, is this about the incident with your Digimon?", the tome asked.
The girl in question was hesitant to answer at first, but she nodded a bit, confirming the Oracle's worries.
"Every time there's a battle, I feel too afraid to even participate. If I decide to make FanBeemon Digivolve, I fear the same thing might happen again, and my friends will get hurt in the process", said Peashy.
Histoire just placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a comforting smile.
"There comes a time when we all have to face the fear that holds us back. But only by facing our fears can we move beyond their grasp", she said.
Peashy just stared at the Oracle for a moment, unsure of what to say, then looked at FanBeemon, who was listening to what was going on. Both of them were thinking of what to say when Neptune called out to them.
"Hey, Peashy! Are you and FanBeemon coming along or something? You'll be a rotten egg at this rate!", the Planetune CPU called out.
Both Peashy and FanBeemon nodded at each other before running out to catch up with the others.
"We're on our way!", the blonde haired girl shouted.
"Wait for us!", added the insect Digimon.
As Histoire watched them go on their way, she couldn't help but wonder if she and her Digimon would be alright. The tome could only hope that Peashy can conquer her fear of Digivolving her partner and help their friends in their time of need.
When the CPUs and their allies arrived to their destination, it looked like an open field with no trees in sight. The area was a little close to the city limits, and it would be easy to spot anything out of the ordinary. Everyone kept their eyes peeled as they searched for any signs of the D-Brigade.
"I don't see anything out here. Were we too late?", Nepgear wondered aloud.
"Unlikely. We may have arrived earlier than expected", stated Hagurumon.
"Aww. I wanted to be fashionably late for once", Neptune pouted.
"Is that supposed to be a joke? Because we're not laughing", Noire deadpanned.
"When I see those guys, I'm gonna make them regret setting foot here", said BlackTerriermon.
"Easy, buddy. I know how you feel about the D-Brigade, but we have to keep a level head here", said Uni calmly.
"While we're on the subject, do we even know what the D-Brigade looks like?", Blanc asked.
"We do know that they're supposed to be mainly comprised of dragon and cyborg type Digimon, so that's what we should expect", Vert replied.
Dorumon looked out to the field as he thought of something. Neptune looked at her partner and spoke up.
"What'cha thinking of, Doru-Doru?", she asked.
"I was just thinking... Remember that Machinedramon we faced when we first met?", said Dorumon.
"Yeah? What about it?", Neptune replied.
"I'm wondering if the D-Brigade were the ones that sent him. It sounds strange, but I feel like that both of them are connected with each other somehow", the purple Digimon stated.
"If they are connected with one another somehow, then that would make them all the more dangerous", added Ryudamon.
"Well we're not gonna just sit around and do nothing. Not as long as the main character of main characters has anything to say about it!", Neptune declared.
Peashy stared at the Planetune CPU. The lilac haired girl was so cheery, despite the fact that there was about be a big battle at any moment. She wondered how she doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. The blonde haired girl thought if she could be as good as Neptune. As she was deep in thought, FanBeemon nudged her shoulder.
"Peasehy? Is something still bothering you?", the insect Digimon asked.
"Well... it's just that-", Peashy started to say before being cutoff.
"Head's up! I see something!", Blanc called out.
Everyone turned to where she was pointing at. In the distance, there was a ripple in the air. It then started to turn into multiple ripples as sparks were forming. Then, a vortex started to form. It grew larger and larger until it finally stopped. It was three times the size of any other vortex that the group had seen so far. It unnerved the CPUs and their Digimon a bit, but they kept a cool head and stood their ground.
"Here they come", said Ryudamon.
Just then, they saw something emerge from the large vortex. Multiple bodies rushed out of the portal, armed to the teeth and ready for battle. They looked like bipedal lizards who had yellow eyes and their bodies were covered in dark blue digital camouflage. They were also wearing what seemed to look like military gear, including helmets, vests, backpacks, and clawed gloves and boots. In their hands they had what looked like military rifles, armed and loaded. Pulling out her Digivice, Uni scanned the militarized Digimon, allowing a holographic screen to appear.
"Commandramon. They may be Rookie Digimon, but in a squad, they can be very dangerous", the raven haired Candidate said.
Behind them, more bodies appeared, but in lesser numbers than the Commandramon. They had what looked like cameoflauge on their skin, while the rest of their bodies looked like that of a green tank. Their heads had a single cannon barrel, while their arms had what looked like big machine guns with bullet belts sticking out. They also had four treads, and on the bottom of their front was what seemed to be a metal jaw and a second pair of eyes. Now Nepgear scanned them with her own Digivice, and information on the tank-like Digimon appeared on a holographic screen.
"Those other guys are Tankmon. Champion level Digimon. Whenever there's massive conflict, you might see them in action. Watch out for their Hyper Cannon fire", she described.
As more Commandramon and Tankmon were stepping through the portal, one more larger body stepped out of the vortex. A single monstrosity towered over the militarized Digimon. It looked like a large grey dinosaur with blue eyes, multiple cables going in and out of its skin, and well as metal parts on several places on his body. He also had a metal snout and lower jaw, metal claws on its hands and feet, and what looked like blue glowing energy emitters in the palms of its claws. It stared down the CPUs, their friends and Digimon before grinning.
"So, this is what stands in our way in this world? A bunch of puny girls and their scrawny Digimon? Ha! This sounds more like a wecolme party to me", said the cyborg dinosaur.
"Hey! Who are you calling puny and scrawny?! And we're not just ordinary girls, you know!", exclaimed Ram.
Vert pulled out her Digivice and scanned the cyborg Digimon before a holographic image displayed his information.
"Be careful who you're talking to, Ram! That big one is MetalTyrannomon, an Ultimate Digimon. His Nuclear Laser is devastating to anything within its range", the blonde haired CPU said.
Everyone got goosebumps when they heard the information. It was bad enough that they had to contend with the D-Brigade. Now they had to deal with an Ultimate level Digimon who seemed to be leading them. They stared him down as they readied themselves for battle.
"If you really are the D-Brigade, then you should know that we're prepared to defend Gameindustri", said Noire.
"Ah, yes. You must be the CPUs I've been informed about. I was warned that you might try to interfere with our invasion", said MetalTyrannomon.
"Fair warning. If you know who we are, then you'll know what will happen if you take us on", stated Blanc.
"Oh, you misunderstand. We simply wish to make peace with our foe", the cyborg Digimon replied.
"A peace through tyranny is what you want! You guys can't be trusted!", BlackTerriermon exclaimed.
MetalTyrannomon looked towards the black rabbit Digimon and smirked.
"And I see the the one who got away from Sealsdramon is here, too. I'm sure I'll be rewarded greatly for capturing you alive. Yeeesss~", he said.
BlackTerriermon tried to run over to MetalTyrannomon so that he can attack him, but Uni held him back in fear of getting destroyed. The CPUs and their Digimon stared the D-Brigade down, determined not to let them by.
"This is your only chance to walk away from this. Go back to where you came from before we make you turn tail", Uzume warned.
"Oh, I think not. Even if we could, our Digital Gate was a one way trip. And one way or another, we'll take this world in the name of the D-Brigade. But first, we shall dispose of the annoyances that stand in our way", said MetalTyrannomon, refering to the CPUs and their friends.
The entire group didn't know what to think. These Digimon were willing to fight for their cause, even if it meant being destroyed in the process. They were die-hard fighters, and the CPUs felt that sending them back to the Digital World may not be an option.
"Okay, enough chit-chat! The readers want to see a fight, so lets get to transforming and Digi-tizing and whatever!", exclaimed Neptune.
"Ugh... and here I thought we were going to reason with them", sighed Noire.
"Well it should be obvious that they're not the type to just walk away and give up, so we have to fight them off like we're in one of those raid battles", the lilac haired girl replied.
"I must concur. As a guild master in 4GO myself, I must defend my territory from any sort of raiding party, no matter how big or small", said Vert.
"Sometimes I wish you had another hobby other than playing games all day...", Lalamon deadpanned.
"Oh, how I wish you could enjoy them with me, Lalamon. A shame that your little arms can't grip a controller well", the blonde haired CPU continued.
"You're not even listening anymore, are you?", the plant Digimon said.
"If you read as many books as you do with playing games, perhaps we'd have something in common", Blanc commented.
"I don't even have time to read much", added Noire.
Vein marks started to form on MetalTyrannomon's head, angered by the fact that he and he forces were being ignored right in front of him. He roared in a fit of rage, causing everyone to turn back to him in shock.
"Raaagh! How dare you ignore me and my troops! Just for that, you'll be the first to fall!", he exclaimed.
The CPUs turned back to each other and nodded, standing in place before glowing brightly. A white light soon enveloped them as they entered their HDD mode one by one, changing into their Goddess forms. Their bodies, hair, and outfits changed, while futuristic armor, wings, and weapons materialized around them. As soon as their transformation was finished, the Goddesses who had their Digimon pulled out their Digivices and aimed them at their respective partners.
"Digivolve!", they all shouted.
Beams of light shot out from their Digivices and engulfed their Digimon. Their Digivolution sequence had begun.
"Dorumon, Digivolve to...!", the purple Digimon said.
His body, limbs, tail, and wings grew bigger, his claws became a red color, and his body colors changed to a darker shade of purple.
"Dorugamon!", he shouted.
Ryudamon, Digivolve to...!", the armored Digimon said.
His body grew longer, as well as his neck and tail, while more armor appeared on his body. His limbs also changed shape and form as well.
"Ginryumon!", he called out.
"Dracomon, Digivolve to...!", the small dragon Digimon said.
His whole body grew larger, his scales became blue, and a third horn grew on his snout.
"Coredramon!", the blue dragon Digimon roared.
"Blucomon, Digivolve to...!", said the icy Digimon.
Now he became larger with wings made of ice, his claws grew bigger with metal bracelets on his wrists, and his legs grew longer with white bandage wraps on them.
"Paledramon!", he exclaimed.
"Lalamon, Digivolve to...!", the plant Digimon said.
She changed shapes as her face became like that of a yellow flower with a mouth and eyes. She also now had a long body, arms and legs, and a long tail with a thorny tip.
"Sunflowmon!", she yelled.
"Hagurumon, Digivolve to...!", the gear-like Digimon said.
His body soon became more robotic as he gained arms and legs, and his metal body became a shade of bronze, with a steampunk-like engine forming on his back.
"Guardromon!", he said robotically.
"BlackTerriermon, Digivolve to...!", the black rabbit Digimon said.
His body and ears got bigger, his arms became gatling guns, pants formed around his waist, and a bullet belt wrapped around his torso.
"BlackGargomon!", he exclaimed.
Just then, Numemon leapt out in front of everyone before spreading his stubby limbs out.
"Numemon, Digivolve to... to... uhh...", he said.
The slime Digimon tried to see if he could Digivolve himself, but no matter what he did, he felt no change whatsoever. He was clueless as to why he couldn't change like the others, and he was still lost in thought when some of the Commandramon opened fire on him. Numemon panicked as he rushed back over to his friends.
"Numemon, you idiot! You can't Digivolve without a Digivice!", Linda scolded.
"All units, attack! Show no mercy!", MetalTyrannomon roared.
Following his orders, his squad of Commandramon and Tankmon charged forward, yelling as they rushed towards their targets. The CPUs and their Digimon responded in kind, charging the attacking forces. The D-Brigade fired away at them, but they kept pushing forward, letting nothing stand in their way. When both sides got close with one another, everyone started scattering around the battle field. The CPUs and their allies hoped that by splitting up, they can divert the D-Brigade's attention and draw as many of them away from one another as possible. Within moments, everyone had spread out everywhere.
Some of the Commandramon fired their rifles at Black Heart, but she shielded herself with her large sword, while Coredramon approached them menacingly.
"Blue Flare Breath!", he roared as he blasted the militarized Digimon with a stream of blue fire.
The Commandramon tried to fall back, but they ended up being caught in the blast. Black Heart and the blue dragon Digimon smirked as they held back the grunts of the D-Brigade.
Meanwhile, White Heart and Paledramon were engaged with at least three Tankmons, who had their head cannons aimed directly at the pair.
"Hyper Cannon!", the tank-like Digimons exclaimed as they fired a volley of shells at their target.
Paledramon stepped forward and breathed in deeply before breathing out.
"Ice Age!", he shouted as a stream of ice cold air blew out of his mouth.
When the cold stream collided with the cannon shells, the artillery fire started to freeze solid until they looked like flying ice crystals. They fell harmlessly, unable to detonate due to the freezing cold. White Heart took this opportunity to attack the Tankmons with her axe.
"Yaaaagggh!", she roared as she swung her axe down on the tank-like Digimon, knocking them over on their sides.
Elsewhere, a squad of both Commandramons and Tankmons had surrounded both Green Heart and Sunflowmon. The militarized Digimonthought they had the advantage in numbers. However, the pair had other ideas in mind. The plant Digimon's face started to glow as she aimed at the enemies.
"Sunshine Beam!", Sunflowmon yelled as a beam of light blasted from her face.
She blasted away anything and everything that was caught in the beam of light. Everyone who wasn't caught in the beam was blinded by the intensity of the light. Now it was Green Heart's turn to attack.
"Inbetween Spear!", she exclaimed.
Her spear weapon split up into many before flying towards the Commandramons and Tankmons, either knocking them down or blasting them away. The Leanbox CPU smirked triumphantly, looking upon the handiwork that she and her Digimon partner had done.
On top of a small hill, Orange Heart was had started to engage some straggling Commandramons who had splintered too far from their backup. Yelling loudly into her megaphone weapon, the military Digimons dropped their weapons just to cover their ears in response to the ear-shattering pain they felt. The orange haired CPU took this opportunity to make her next move. Tossing her megaphone aside, her fist started to become surrounded by a swirling spiral of energy. Then she rushed at the disarmed attackers, her fist full of swirling energy spiraling faster.
"Dream Smash Fist!", Orange Heart exclaimed before dashing through the Commandramons with her energized fist.
When her attack collided with the enemies, small explosions were left behind, knocking out the soldiers that were hit. Orange Heart smiled as she went off to find more D-Brigade Digimon to subdue.
Meanwhile, Numemon was tossing some sludge at a Commandramon, blinding him in the eyes. The militarized Digimon gagged as he tried to get the sludge off of his face. He managed to clear his eyes, only to see a metal pipe come right at his face, knocking him out cold. Holding the metal pipe was Linda, who gave a hi-five to Numemon.
"Nice one", she said.
Just a few yards away, Purple Heart, Dorugamon, and Ginryumon had charged past most of the Commandramons and Tankmons until they came face to face with MetalTyrannomon. The group tensed up as the cyborg Digimon smiled at them sinisterly. Last time they and their friends faced an Ultimate level Digimon, they were left battered and bruised. But now that she had the power to Digivolve Dorugamon further into DoruGreymon, Purple Heart felt more confident in her odds. However, she still had to remember what Mirei had said about using such a power wisely. The Planetune CPU wanted to save the Perfect Digivolve as a last resort, should they unable to stop their adversary with their current power.
"You should have ran away when you had the chance. Now you're going to regret defying the D-Brigade", said MetalTyrannomon.
"We will not let you conquer this world. Surrender now and we will show mercy", demanded Purple Heart.
"Never. First the Digital World will be ours. Then your world will be next! Yeeesss!~", the cyborg Digimon yelled.
He then charged towards the group, his claws at the ready. They split up, moving out of the way before he could land a hit on them. Then it was their turn to strike.
"Power Metal!", said Dorugamon as a large iron sphere blasted from his mouth.
"Metal Armor Blade", added Ginryumon, launching a metallic blade out of his mouth.
Both attacks hit MetalTyrannomon. However the barely left a scratch, and the cyborg Digimon had shrugged it off like nothing had happened. He then laughed at their attempt at attacking him. Purple Heart then charged towards him, her katana ready to strike. MetalTyrannomon smirked at this, anticipating that she would make a reckless move. He then raised his left arm at her, the blue emitter on his palm starting to glow brightly. Ginryumon saw what he was up to shocked by what was about to happen.
"Neptune! Look out!", the armored Digimon shouted.
Purple Heart looked back at him before turning to see MetalTyrannomon's claw glowing brightly. The Planetune CPU soon realized her mistake, as the cyborg Digimon unleashed his attack.
"Nuclear Laser!", he roared as a large beam of energy blasted out of his hand.
Reacting quickly, Purple Heart flew out of the way, as did her two Digimon. The laser zoomed past them, hitting a few unfortunate Commandramons and Tankmons who happened to be in the line of fire. They yelled in horror before being deleted by the blast, leaving nothing but data particles behind. The CPUs and their Digimon looked on in shock. Never had they witnessed such destructive power since their fight with SkullSatamon. MetalTyrannomon growled at the fact that he hit some of his own troops, but he didn't let that fact stop him.
"Now look what you made me do. Some of my own soldiers got destroyed", he said.
"You done that yourself. If there's anyone to blame here, it's you!", said Purple Heart.
"Silence! I'll make you suffer immeansely!", yelled MetalTyrannomon.
The Planetune CPU tensed up. She had to stop this monstrosity before he seriously hurts someone, or worse. She pulled out her Digivice and stared at it for a moment.
"Guess I no choice. Now's the time to do it", she thought.
She was about to aim her Digivice at Dorugamon, but MetalTyrannomon saw this, knowing what she was about to do.
"I don't think so! Nuclear Laser!", the cyborg Digimon roared before firing another energy beam from his left hand.
Purple Heart saw the attack coming and moved out of the way. MetalTyrannomon kept firing away at her, not giving the purple haired Goddess any chance to use her Digivice. Dorugamon and Ginryumon tried to intervene, but the cyborg Digimon opened fire on them as well, knocking them back several feet. Their situation looked dire. Without more power, they wouldn't last long under MetalTyrannomon's assault.
Meanwhile, the CPU Candidates, along with Guardromon and BlackGargomon, were holding the rest of the Commandramons and Tankmons at bay, a firefight taking place in the vicinity. While Black Sister and Purple Sister provided covering fire, the White Sisters rushed in with their staffs.
"Ice Coffin!", they both exclaimed as their staffs started emitting a wave of freezing air at the militarized Digimons.
They were soon sealed up in a large block of ice, unable to move. Now it was up to the CPU's Digimon to finish the job.
"Gargo Laser!", BlackGargomon exclaimed as he opened fire with his gatling arms.
"Guardian Barrage!", shouted Guardromon, launching a pair of missiles from his arms.
When the attacks hit, a large explosion occurred, knocking the militarized Digimons out cold. The CPU Candidates and their Digimon friends smirked at their handiwork.
"That was for my friends and family back home!", said BlackGargomon.
Just then, everyone saw what was happening with Purple Heart. They saw that she and her Digimon were in trouble, so they rushed in to help. When MetalTyrannomon saw them coming, he turned to attack them too.
"More lambs coming to the slaughter! Be my guests, then! Nuclear Laser!", he roared, unleashing another laser attack at them.
They tried to dodge it, but most of them were knocked away by the blast. It did not stop them from getting back up and trying again. When some of them approached, he smashed them away with a swipe of his tail, causing them to yell in pain. But even with their bodies taking serious punishment, they refused to give up.
Peashy watched from afar as the battle unfolded. It was like a nightmare taking shape. Every time Purple Heart would attempt to use her Digivice, MetalTyrannomon would try to shoot her down. And whenever the others try to distract him, he would blast them away as well. The blonde haired girl felt helpless to do anything at all. FanBeemon, on the other hand, couldn't just stand by and watch his friends suffer while he and Peashy did nothing. He felt they had to do something, and fast.
"Peashy, we have to help them now!", the insect Digimon said.
"But I... I...", said Peashy, unable to find her words.
Suddenly, a Tankmon had flanked around behind her and FanBeemon. Their faces turned to that of horror, as they did not have enough time to run from the threat that stood before them. Panicking, Peashy stumbled on her rear, while FanBeemon tried to help her back up. With his barrel pointed at the pair, the tank-like Digimon was about to open fire on them, when suddenly...
"Justice Kick!", a voice exclaimed.
As Tankmon was about to fire, he was kicked in the head by a someone, knocking him down on his side. When the pair saw who it was, they were very surprised. The figure had deep blue eyes with matching long hair that was worn with long loose curls, along with a pair of black goggles worn in her hair like a headband. She wore a black, revealing body suit with the zipper worn below her belly button and bandaging worn around her chest, and thin red and blue lines on the side worn with big cuffed, gray gloves and matching boots. She also had a long red flowing scarf, a prinny-like backpack, and a gray and gold pouch strapped to her leg.
"When all hope seems lost, and doom is about to claim innocent lives, a hero will always swoop in to save the day! Nisa, The Heroine of Justice and ally of the CPUs, arrives at the scene!", the blue haired girl called out while striking a heroic pose.
Peashy and FanBeemon looked on in awe before being helped up by the blue haired heroine, thanking her for the rescue.
"What are you doing here?", Peashy asked.
"I saw you and the CPUs were in trouble. I thought I'd lend a hand", Nisa answered before continuing. "More importantly, what are you doing?"
The blonde haired girl was hesistant to answer at first, but she told the heroine what was going on, from the D-Brigade entering Gameindustri to MetalTyrannomon mopping the floor with the Goddesses and their Digimon.
"Well then, let's go offer them our assistance and stop this vile fiend", said Nisa before running off.
As she was about to head towards the action, she turned to see that Peashy was still standing in place, with FanBeemon hovering next to her. Confused, the blue haired heroine went back to see what was the matter.
"Is there something bothering you?", she asked.
"I just... I can't do it... If I let FanBeemon fight, I might lose control of him", Peashy replied. "The last time I Digivolved him, he even attacked me. I'm too afraid to let that happen again. I don't want my friends to get hurt either..."
Nisa walked up to the troubled girl and just placed a hand on her shoulder.
"There are times when we doubt our own power. But we have been given our special gifts for a reason. A purpose to use them for the right thing. It takes courage to use our power wisely. And when we find that courage, we find a way past our fears", said Nisa.
Peashy was astounded by the heroine's words. It was similar to what Histoire had said to her. Was there truth to their words after all? That's what she wondered as she looked back to her friends, who were still fighting on the battlefield. Then she turned to face FanBeemon, who now had a face filled with newfound determination.
"Peashy... I don't care what happens. I want to help my friends. What about you?", the insect Digimon asked.
The blonde haired girl thought to herself for a moment, while FanBeemon awaited her answer.
"They're right. If I'm ever to get over my fears, I have to face them head on. And my friends will be there to help me out whenevr things get rough. I HAVE to do this!", she thought.
She then looked back up to her partner and nodded.
"I'll help too! I want to save my friends and our worlds!", said Peashy.
Both FanBeemon and Nisa nodded, now knowing what they must do. All three started rushing towards the battle.
Most of the CPUs and their Digimon were down for the count, nearing exhaustion. The only ones still standing were Purple Heart and Dorugamon. The odds were not looking good. MetalTyrannomon laughed triumphantly as he towered over the others.
"Victory is mine. This is where it ends for you. For today, this world shall belong to the D-Brigade. Yeeesss~", he said devilishly.
"No... Not like this...", said Purple Heart weakly.
The cyborg Digimon aimed his left arm at her and Dorugamon, preparing to finish them off.
"And now, with gratitude, you two shall have the honor of perishing first. Say farewell", said MetalTyrannomon.
Just as he was about to fire, a flying kick hit him directly in the head, causing his aim to go off course just before his Nuclear Laser fired. He stumbled a little to see who his attacker was. Standing before him was Nisa, Peashy, and FanBeemon. He growled at first, but then he laughed once again.
"And just what do you hope to accomplish? You're only going to make things worse on yourself by challenging me, you know", said MetalTyrannomon.
As he said this, Peashy pulled out her Digivice and aimed it at FanBeemon. The cyborg Digimon did not like this and was about to attack, when an iron sphere collided with him, causing him to turn his attention back to Dorugamon and Purple Heart. He growled as he went after the pair, his attention now focused on them. With MetalTyrannomon distracted, Peashy looked to her partner.
"You ready, friend?", she asked.
"Do it, Peashy!", FanBeemon answered.
The blonde haired aimed her Digivice at her partner, then it started to glow in a bright yellow color. As soon as it glowed bright enough, she announced the password.
"Digivolve!"
A yellow beam of light shot out from her Digivice. It engulfed FanBeemon's body, and soon enough, his Digivolution sequence began.
"FanBeemon, Digivolve to...!", he exclaimed.
His body started getting bigger, and his shape changed drastically. His body became metallic with yellow and black stripings, his antenna were longer, and his eyes were now red. He had a giant ball-shaped tail section with what looked like a laser at the end of it. The insect Digimon gained two arms, and on his shoulders were what looked like four hover engines, and two metallic wings on his back. His Digivolution was complete.
"Waspmon!", he shouted.
Everyone looked on in awe. Peashy had just Digivolved her partner into a new form. MetalTyrannomon was not impressed, however.
"I see. But it doesn't matter how many of you there are. You'll all fall just the same. Nuclear Laser!", the cyborg Digimon exclaimed.
He fired an energy laser from his hand, thinking he had the advantage. This would not be the case, however, as Waspmon quickly dodge the attack, the laser harmlessly flying into the sky. MetalTyrannomon was shocked by the metal insect Digimon's speed. He growled angrily and fire more lasers, each one of them missing their target. Waspmon was too quick for his attacks to hit. As soon as the next laser passed him, he flew towards the cyborg Digimon and headbutted him in the chest, pushing him back a few yards. MetalTyrannomon tried to swipe at the metal insect Digimon, but he flew out of the way in time. Now it was his turn to attack.
"Turbo Stinger!", Waspmon exclaimed as his tail fired a series of rapid lasers at his attacker.
The cyborg Digimon was unable to react in time, as he was still recovering from the earlier attack, and as a result took several shots to his body. The others looked on in amazement. While MetalTyrannomon was having trouble hitting a fast moving target, Waspmon was able to get by his attacks like a leaf in the wind. And because he was now distracted by the metal insect Digimon, Purple Heart and Dorugamon now had a chance to make their move. They turned to each other and nodded.
"Time to take it on step further", said the Planetune CPU.
"I'm with you, Neptune!", said Dorugamon.
Pulling out her Digivice, Purple Heart aimed it at her partner, the device glowing in a more intense purple light. As soon as it reached its peak, she called out the password.
"Perfect Digivolve!"
A large beam of purple light engulfed Dorugamon's body. He was about to enter his Ultimate Digivolution.
"Dorugamon, Perfect Digivolve to...!", he yelled.
His already large body grew even bigger, and then it started to change shape. His neck and tail grew longer, his body now became a red color with black stripes, and both his underside and feet were white, with his feet having black claws. He then stood on all fours, black spikes and white hair grew on the back of his neck, and a metallic horn grew on his snout. His wings had grown larger, turning into a silver-white color, while gold ornaments hung on the ends of the wings. Lastly, a golden pike-like tip formed on the end of his tail.
"DoruGreymon!", he roared as his Digivolution sequence ended.
MetalTyrannomon turned to see the newly evolved Digimon, and growled in fury. He blasted his Nuclear Laser at the red dragon Digimon, but DoruGreymon quickly shielded himself with his large wings. Then the cyborg Digimon was attacked again while his back was turned. Waspmon had fired more of his Turbo Stinger at him. While he was distracted, the red dragon Digimon bit down on MetalTyrannomon's left arm, preventing him from using his Nuclear Laser again. DoruGreymon crushed his arm within his jaws, causing the cyborg Digimon to roar in pain.
"Raaagh! Nooo!", MetalTyrannomon yelled.
Waspmon took this opportunity to make another move. The tip of his laser stinger started to glow brightly, indicating that it was charging up. Seeing what the metal insect Digimon was up to, DoruGreymon gripped his jaws even harder on MetalTyrannomon's arm. The cyborg Digimon tried to break free with his other arm, but Purple Heart swooped in and sliced at it with her katana. At last, Waspmon's attack was fully charged and ready to fire.
"Bear Buster!", the metal insect Digimon exclaimed as he fired his laser stinger.
The blast pierced through MetalTyrannomon's cybernetics, causing him to reel back in pain. DoruGreymon had let go of him, preparing to finish him off.
"No... This can't be...", the cyborg Digimon coughed.
While the red dragon Digimon charged up his attack, the other CPUs and their Digimon started to cheer for him, Purple Heart, and Waspmon. Even Peashy was impressed. The Planetune CPU rused, katana at the ready.
"Critical Edge!", she exclaimed as she sliced at MetalTyrannomon with a few powerful strikes.
The cyborg Digimon was unable to withstand the attack, and his defense was broken. Now was the time to finish him off. DoruGreymon's mouth glowed with burning intensity as he unleashed his attack.
"Metal Meteor!", he exclaimed as he launched a giant flaming metal sphere from his mouth.
MetalTyrannomon was unable to defend against it, nor was he able to move quick enough to escape it. In the end, he took the full might of the blast, his body becoming engulfed in the large explosion. As he roared in severe pain and his body started to disappear into data particles, he yelled out one last sentence of defiance.
"The D-Brigade will never fall! Raaaaaggggghhhhh!", the cyborg Digimon exclaimed.
His voice echoed briefly before his body disappeared completely, leaving behind nothing but evaporating data particles where he once was. Both Purple Heart and DoruGreymon sighed in relief. Everyone cheered for their efforts. They even cheered on Peashy and Waspmon, for without them, the battle might not have been won at all. Seeing as how their leader was destroyed, the remaining Commandramons and Tankmons who were still able to fight had surrendered on the spot, as they had lost the will to keep on fighting.
After gathering the militarized Digimon together into one big group, the CPUs and their Digimon had changed back to their previous forms. They were now preparing to send the D-Brigade soldiers back to where they came from. Some of the Commandramons and Tankmons were still a bit defiant, but they did not attempt to even escape or fight back.
"And so once again, the day was saved! Thanks to the CPU girls, and their Digimon!", said Neptune half jokingly.
"All in a day's work. Not even these guys could stop us", added Noire.
"If it hadn't been for Peashy and FanBeemon, we would not have been here to talk about it", stated Blanc.
"Yes. She and her Digimon were grand", added Vert.
All Peashy could do was blush in response. Nevertheless, the blonde haired girl felt proud of herself. She managed to get over her fear of Digivolving her partner, and her friends didn't get hurt in the process. She felt like things were finally looking up for her.
"Just you wait, CPUs. The D-Brigade will have their vengeance", said a Commandramon.
"Yeah! We'll come back stronger than ever! You can't beat us all!", added a Tankmon.
They quieted down once Dorumon growled at them. Uzume stared them down with a smirk on her face.
"When you get back home, tell your leaders that we will never bow down to bullies", she said.
"And we'll be coming for you! We'll free everyone from your tyranny!", added BlackTerriermon.
"Easy, Terriermon", said Uni calmly.
As the CPUs were about to open a portal with their Digivices, a strange ring sound started going off. It was coming from one of the Commandramon.
"Oh no...", he said.
"What do you have there?", Noire said before snatching the item in question.
Upon a close examination, it looked like some sort of communicator. She showed it to the others, then they turned to the D-Brigade soldiers. The militarized Digimon looked like they had seen a ghost.
"Alright, start talking. What is this?", Blanc inquired.
"It's... him...", a Tankmon said.
As if on cue, a hologram as big as a house appeared out of the device. Everyone looked at who it was, while the D-Brigade soldiers stared at the large figure, their faces filled with horror. The figure was clad in dark grey and black armor with indigo colored parts, and was wearing a long cape that was also colored in indigo. A few parts of his armor had a few triangle markings on him. The top of his helmet had what looked like a indigo dragon face, and on the back was an extremely long tail plume. His yellow eyes looked down upon the CPUs, their friends, and their Digimon allies.
"Woah, talk about creepazoid. He looks like one of those anit-heroes going through an emo phase", Neptune commented.
"Quiet, Neptune! I have a bad feeling about this guy...", Noire hushed.
The raven haired CPU's instincts were right, as the individual turned to the D-Brigade soldiers, who looked terrified by his presence. He raised an outstretched open hand towards the militarized, causing them to tremble in fear. Everyone else was confused and tense, They did not know why the D-Brigade were horrified by this individual's appearance. They were about to find out why, however, as the Commandramons and Tankmons started begging for their lives. All the dark armored being had to say to them was just one word in a disappointed tone:
"Failure."
Clenching his hand closed, the D-Brigade started to become engulfed in a black darkness. After a few seconds, the darkness explodes, turning all the militarized Digimon into particles of data. The entire group gasped and looked on in horror, their minds trying to comprehend what the figure just did. With just a single hand gesture, he destroyed the D-Brigade soldiers without hesitation. And he did it via a hologram. They wondered who this being was and how he could be so heartless.
"Scary...", wimpered Rom.
"Don't worry, Rom. I'm here for you", said Ram, comforting her sister.
"Shh! I think he's about to speak...", stated Vert.
As if on cue, the dark armored being turned to them, his tone changing to a more calm manner.
"I am ChaosDukemon, a dark knight of the Digital World. If you are watching this, then you have managed to defeat only a small fraction of the D-Brigade, but only by a matter of luck. You may have saved your world for now, but you have made a great enemy today. And I happen to be one such enemy. Under different circumstances, I would eliminate you all right now, as you have clearly seen. However, you have intrigued me quite a bit. So now I offer you a chance to save your world."
He paused ominously, leaving the CPUs wondering what he was going to do next. He blinked his eyes before continuing.
"We know that you are preparing to enter the Digital World. We will not tolerate any outsiders in our world, especially non-digital organics such as yourselves. But we can be merciful. Dare not step a foot into the Digital World and we shall spare your world of Gameindustri from invasion, and we can all forget that your world had ever existed. Should you, however, choose to enter the Digital World, then be prepared to face the entirety of the D-Brigade. And believe when I say that you'll prefer to want to face the wrath of the D-Brigade instead of me, for I shall not be as merciful as I am now. I urge you to think about this. Goodbye, CPUs. And pray that we do not meet in person."
The large hologram of ChaosDukemon disappeared, leaving the CPUs and their Digimon speechless. They had no idea who this Digimon was, or why he's in league with the D-Brigade. Whatever the reason, they felt a cold darkness coming from him. It was something that was not easily brushed off. As the others were thinking about what to do, Neptune stepped up.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not about to take some bully's trash talk", she said.
"Did you not see what what he did to those D-Brigade goons? I don't think we should push our luck here!", said Noire.
"Even if we can enter the Digital World now, there's beings like him that can just wave us off into nothingness with just a flick of the wrist", added Blanc.
"Goodness. Even I don't know what we should do here...", said Nepgear worriedly.
Everyone looked to each other, hoping that someone had an answer. Then Peashy spoke up.
"It's just like Nisa said to me. If we find our courage, then we find a way past our fears", the blonde haired girl said.
Everyone stared at her for a moment before nodding in agreement. They had all made it this far, and they weren't going to turn back now. It was time to take the fight to the Digital World. They all agreed to return back to the Basilicom in Planetune to discuss what to do. The whole group went on their way back , where they would explain the situation to Histoire and Mirei.
In the dark castle within the Digital World, ChaosDukemon entered a dark room, where the only source of light came from a large crystal in the middle of the room. The dark knight Digimon knelt down in front of the crystal, bowing his head in its presence.
"My master. I have done as you commanded", he said.
"Excellent. And what of the D-Brigade's invasion?", the crystal entity inquired.
"Eliminated. The CPUs had put their invasion plans to a grinding halt", said ChaosDukemon.
"Hmmm... Well, I do not care about their antics. All that matters is that we have given them all the more reason to enter our world", said the crystal entity.
"When they enter the Digital World, shall we destroy them right away?", ChaosDukemon asked.
"No... not yet."
The dark knight Digimon looked at his master in confusion.
"Once their power is more developed, we'll try to persuade them to join us. And if not... well, I'm sure you know what to do."
ChaosDukemon bowed his head down once again, understanding his master's orders.
"Yes, my master", he said.
He then turned to leave, the crystal still glowing behind him. Just as the door closed behind the dark knight Digimon, one could catch a minor glimpse of might have been a humanoid face within the crystal, assuming that it was even humanoid at all. As he walked on his way, ChaosDukemon thought to himself.
"The wheels have started turning. Now we shall see what transpires. And we'll see what these CPUs and their Digimon are made of...", he thought.
Back at the Basilicom, everyone had called Mirei via one of their Digivices and informed both her and Histoire what had happened. When they mentioned about the appearance of ChaosDukemon, Mirei expressed her concerns.
"This is disturbing news. ChaosDukemon is perhaps one of the most dangerous Digimon to exist, not just because of his reputation as a Mega level Digimon", she said.
"Oh yeah, you did say something about levels and stuff before", said Neptune.
"Yes. Do you recall the day when you and Dorumon had faced Machinedramon?", Mirei inquired.
"Yeah. Wait a minute... you don't mean...", said Dorumon before trailing off.
"Yes. Machinedramon isn't the only Mega level Digimon. However, you two had gotten off lucky, considering that Machinedramon was weakened before. But now things have become more dangerous than ever", said the purple haired woman.
"You mean to tell us that there are Digimon stronger than Ultimate?", Noire inquired.
"I'm afraid so. I had hoped that a Digimon like ChaosDukemon wouldn't get involved so soon, but it seems circumstances have changed", Mirei said.
She paused ominously before adjusting her glasses and continuing.
"Listen. I think it might be best if you just forget about entering the Digital World for now", she said.
Everyone looked at her like she was crazy. They had made it past every obstacle that stood in their way up to this point, and now Mirei was asking them to not go to the Digital World? To them, it felt like utter insanity. There was no way that they were going to just stay in their world while their Digimon worry about the state of their own world.
"Mirei, with all due respect, we cannot just stand by and do nothing", said Vert.
"Yeah. We have to help our partners!", added Nepgear.
"You don't understand", said Mirei. "It's no longer as simple as I thought it would be. I've seen the extent of your powers. And not only are you not ready to face a Digimon like ChaosDukemon, but if you enter the Digital World now, you won't be able to access your Share energy there either."
The CPUs stared at her in realization. Even they had forgot about the limitations of their CPU powers. Their Digimon turned back to them.
"What does she mean?", asked Blucomon.
"Our powers come from Share energy. And they'll only last as long as we live here. Otherwise, we can't use our power if we're in another world without some sort of conduit", Blanc explained.
"I see. That would also mean you would be as vulnerable as any other human", stated Hagurumon.
"It wouldn't be a problem if I had a stash of Share crystals, but...", said Uzume.
"I'm afraid Mirei might be right. Without your Share energy, the danger is just too high", said Histoire.
The CPUs now had a downcast expression on their faces. They wanted to help their Digimon in the Digital World. But with their HDD, it would be very dangerous should they enter battle with their partners. They wondered what they should do. Then Neptune spoke up.
"I say we go anyway!", she exclaimed.
Everyone just stared at the Planetune CPU. Even Histoire and Mirei couldn't help but be shocked by the lilac haired girl's outburst. They wondered if she even listened or if she was just crazy.
"Neptune, are you out of your mind?", said the Oracle.
"I get that we can't go 'It's Morphing Time!' and all that. But we have our Digimon to help us. We can count on them to help us out!", said Neptune.
"Yeah! We'll protect our friends and save our worlds, no matter what happens!", added Dorumon.
"I will gladly partake in this adventure as well! And I will stomp down any evil that dares threaten both Gameindustri and the Digital World!", Nisa exclaimed.
"Eh, why not? I could do a bit of sight seeing, too", said Linda.
"We'll help our friends no matter what! That's what a CPU does!", said Nepgear.
"And who knows? We might even make some friends along the way", added Uni.
The other CPUs and their Digimon nodded in agreement. Histoire was speechless. Even knowing that they would running the risk of having no Share energy to aid them in battle, the CPUs were willing to enter the Digital World and save the Digimon who were in trouble. The oracle turned to Mirei, who was as shocked as she was. She adjusted her glasses before smiling.
"I see. If this is what you want, then be my guests", she said.
Histoire couldn't help but smile as well. She knew that once the CPUs made a decision on their course of action, she couldn't stop them even if she wanted to. Even she wanted them to do something to help both worlds. And that was exactly what they were going to do.
"Now then", Mirei continued, "I think your Digivices should be ready to open the gateway. All you need to do is gather them together. I'm sure you know what to do from there."
"Yeah!", everyone exclaimed.
"Well then, I'll contact you again when you arrive. Until then, I wish you a safe journey", the purple haired woman said.
And with that, her holographic image faded out. Neptune then excitedly raised her arm in the air.
"Let's go where no Goddess or Nep has gone before!", she said.
The CPUs, their friends and their Digimon gathered at the balcony. Everyone who had a Digivice placed them together, aiming them in a single direction. Then their devices glowed in a rainbow of light. Then, a large wave of light shot out of their devices towards the end of the balcony. The light started creating a vortex that grew larger until it reached a size big enough for everyone to fit through. They could now enter the Digital World whenever they were ready. They turned to Histoire one last time.
"We'll be back before you know it, Histy!", said Neptune cheerfully.
"Good luck, everyone. And may fortune smile upon you all", the Oracle said as she waved them off.
Then the whole group looked at each other before smiling.
"To the Digital World!", they all exclaimed.
They jumped through the portal, vanishing out of sight. As soon as the last person made it through, the portal started to become smaller until at last, it closed completely. Histoire stared at where the portal once was. She was now placing all of her hopes in the CPUs and their Digimon, praying that they will make a safe return.
"Please, come back soon...", she said softly. "I cannot help but feel that there are other threats besides the D-Brigade or ChaosDukemon..."
Somewhere in the Digital World, across a vast desert plain, there were little signs of life. However, there was one tall figure overlooking the landscape. He was clad in what look like black armor, but it was hard to see due to his black cape that had surrounded around his body with in order to shield himself from the heat. Underneath his makeshift hood, his eyes were appeared to have a red color, and he had three horns on his head, two black ones on the back of his head and one frontal horn that was a faded yellow color.
He was slowly trekking through the desert sands when he stopped in place. Turning around, he looked across the horizon behind him, looking outward. A dark feeling swept over him. It felt familiar, and at the same time, he felt something else. As if it was coming from another world itself. A mixed feeling of dread and anger now washed over him.
"Dukemon... What have you done?", he said.
The mysterious being then started walking slowly in the other direction towards where he felt the otherworldly presence. Whatever it was, he felt that it had to be expelled, and quickly. He could only hope that he would not be too late...
Oh boy, was this a long one. I felt like it needed more as I neared the end, so if it felt too much, I do apologize. Still, hope that it makes for some good reading.
So, we're about to enter the Digital World, ladies and gentlemen! This is where the real fun begins. There will be danger at every turn for the CPUs and their friends, but our heroes must persevere and overcome any challenge that stands in their way. But what will they face in the new world that awaits them? And who do you think that mystery guy was in the desert back there?
Neptune: "Oh, oh! I do! I do!"
*slap*
No! Bad Nep! No spoilers!
Neptune: "Aww, meanie!"
And speaking of Neptune, I had originally wanted to end this chapter in a different way, involving Neptune and Dorumon getting warped into the Digital World by themselves for a while, but in the end, I kind of scrapped that idea in favor of this one. Plus I wasn't sure how many people would like that idea, with just Nep and Dorumon lone-wolfing it for a few chapters. I might make something for just them in the future, but that will have to wait for another time.
As always, please leave a review for this chapter, and be sure to follow it if you haven't already. Until then, readers, I will see you next time. And have a Happy New Year!
