I think I wrote this the day after I attended a wedding...

He tugged at his tie, smoothened his jacket and gave his hair one last look in the mirror, then took a deep breath. He was ready. No turning back now.

He peeped into the tiny chapel from his dressing room. People were starting to trickle in, in time for the ceremony. He could see his co-workers from the night shift and a few of the lab techs he formerly worked with. He couldn't believe it.

He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around.

"You ready, buddy?" He saw Nick grinning at him. His best man for the day.

"Ready as I'll ever be." He smiled back.

"Then let's go."

He stood at the altar, his hands cold and clammy. He was so nervous. He looked up at Catherine and she gave him an encouraging, almost motherly smile. She was standing beside Grissom, and he smiled at the significance of that. They were almost like his family.

He turned back to the door, paranoid and anxious. What if she had cold feet at the last minute and didn't show up? Oh, He knew he would positively die.

It was then that he saw the door open. She had chosen to walk down the aisle alone. He was so relieved that she hadn't walked out on him. He hoped he could remember his vows.

She looked amazing in her dress. No messy frills and poofy gowns for her, it was a sweet, simple white dress. But it suited her so well.

She caught his eye and smiled her gap-toothed smile. He smiled back at her, watching her walk down the aisle to him. She could only be perfect.

He took her hand when she reached the altar, and they turned towards the priest. He smiled at them and started the ceremony. He gave her hand a small squeeze, and she gave him one back. He really couldn't wait one second longer.

"... You may now kiss the bride." At the priest's go-ahead, and he gave her the sweetest most tender kiss he ever had, sparking off cheers from the crowd. She tasted just like sugar. Sweet.

The priest turned back to the congregation, and declared, "Mr and Mrs Greg Sanders."

He looked at her and gave her his signature grin. She took his hand and they walked down the aisle, as a married couple. A rupture of claps and wolf-whistles from his co-workers greeted them as they made their way to their "Just Married" Denali. He sincerely hoped there wouldn't be any dead bodies tied to the back.

They got into the car and sank into their seats, shutting out the cheers from the crowd. He caught her staring at him and leaned over to give her another kiss. He could never ever get enough of that.

"Where to, Milady?" He questioned.

"Off into the sunset with you, Prince Charming."

He laughed as he started the engine, and soon she was joining him. It was then that he first took notice of her laugh lines. They never used to be there before.
