Chapter 1: (1,4K)

"And this will be your bedroom."

Ana looked at the room, much more spacious than what she had pictured from the description. It was rather clinical when it came to decoration, but Jack had assured her that she would have carte blanche to arrange the room however she wanted if she took the lease. So far, it was rather bland. A queen-size bed, a desk and chair, a small walk-in closet and a cactus to pretend that there was some life in this hospital room.

But she didn't really care, she knew that she always had an eye to turn a place into something warm and inviting. It was a trick she inherited from her father, unlike her brother Elliott who was looking around, trying to find her another flaw in this perfect room.

She rolled her eyes and let him act like a big overprotective fool that he was and glanced at Jack, shrugging apologetically. Jack repressed a chuckle and shook his head to let her know that he understood before he said, "Well, I'll be in the kitchen with Christian whilst you talk amongst yourselves."

As soon as Jack left, Elliott looked at his sister, pointing at the window, "It's a twenty minutes walk to class, Beans. What if you have night classes?"

Once again, Ana rolled her eyes, "First of all, stop being such a Debbie-Downer. Second, I know two martial arts and boxing. Third, Jack said that it is a very safe area."

"Of course he did. He's looking to rent this room. He's not going to tell you about the ugly and the nasty."

"Elliott, don't be ridiculous. He's been teaching for the past three years in that Uni. I'd think that if there was something wrong with the area, they would have moved."

Elliott opened his mouth and closed it again. "I guess you're right. Plus, it can't hurt that you'd be living with a professor. No guy would be stupid enough to try something with a teacher's roomie."

Ana shook her head, letting her brother vent and she looked around at the room, already picturing how she would rearrange it. Elliott would need to do a couple of back and forth from home to bring her things, but all in all, she could only picture herself in this room.

And her roommates seemed like nice guys. Jack Hyde was an Arts professor in her university, so there was no possibility for a conflict of interest since she was a business major. He was the one who did most of the talking and touring of the house, even making a few jokes and managing to get Elliott to laugh with him a couple of times. He seemed like a genuinely nice and outgoing guy.

His partner, Christian Grey, seemed like a shy person and not like a people person. Which Ana found ironic since he owned a coffee shop in the next town over. He barely said two words, mostly agreeing with Jack and all he had to say. Jack even said that Christian's social battery was usually drained when he came back from work, but that he wasn't as asocial as he looked.

"So, you're going to take this room? You sure, Beans? I mean, living with strangers … I can find work here and we can live together."

"Nope. First, you're too messy and I'll end up strangling you in your sleep. Second, I have a good feeling about this place. Trust my feminine instincts."

"I'm not trusting them when they tell you to live with two hunks," He teased and Ana laughed with him. Christian and Jack were both very easy on the eyes. But then again,

"Gay hunks. Who are in a long committed relationship if they bought this place together."

"Haha, well, let's get you to sign the lease then. And then I'll treat you to that pancake place we saw on the way to celebrate."

Six months after having moved with the guys, Ana was completely at ease with them. As Elliott had predicted, the first couple of weeks were a bit awkward, especially since they shared a bathroom at first with her bathroom being under renovations. But both Jack and Christian did their best to make Ana feel comfortable and at home.

As Jack had promised, Christian was much friendlier than when she visited the place, he was just shy. Which was probably why Ana always said that Jack was the one wearing the pants in their relationship. In fact, Jack was the one with whom Ana bonded first. Probably because he was such an extrovert, to begin with. Every night he inquired about her, he found interest in her hobbies and praised her decorating skills. He was also the first one to deplore her cooking skills, endlessly making fun of the fact that she had managed to completely mess up a simple Mac&cheese.

Christian was the cook of the household. In fact, Ana quickly subscribed to a gym membership when she discovered that he was very good at making her taste buds dance each and every time. She even wondered why he decided to open a simple coffee shop and not an actual restaurant because she knew many people who would pay good money to try Christian's food.

Christian didn't speak much, but he was observant. She never told him, but he knew that she liked broccoli, raspberries and mangos best. He also came to pick her up a couple of times during winter when she finished later than planned. He knew that she would stop her studies for any movies including Dwayne Johnson and that she would easily be chilly.

All in all, Ana loved her new life with her roommates. In fact, she rarely referred to them as roommates, but more as her friends. Of course, she didn't tell anyone at school that she was living with a school professor, and when it came to finding a small job, she didn't put Christian in an awkward position by asking him to work for him. She found something at the campus's library, which she loved because she could study when it was quiet.

Elliott called every Sunday, busy working in California with his horses. Sometimes Jack would pop in when she would speak with Elliott and the two of them would joke around or talk about the things that Ana classified as unimportant, such as sports, concerts and literature. This is actually what she bond over the most with Christian. He too wasn't into sports or music, but they both loved cars and talking business.

Often Ana would question Christian about the business side of his shop. How he started, how it fluctuated according to which different factors, how he wanted to expand, how he profited from this or that decision. Usually, when they started talking business, Jack would roll his eyes and put a game on, leaving them to talk until the wee hour.

So it was with this feeling of contentment that Ana was enjoying her life to the fullest.

One night, she came back home to find Jack and Christian making out on the couch. They looked at her, not embarrassed in the slightest, and winked for her to join them. For a moment, she remained frozen before she removed her coat and sat next to Christian who leaned to kiss her.

Ana woke up with a start, shocked beyond words by what she just dreamt. She wasn't going to deny that she wasn't attracted by the men. They were both sexy, and living with them only added qualities to them. But she shouldn't lust over people who were already in relationships!

With a shake of her head, she got up and went to the kitchen to pour herself a cold glass of water. But as she drank and tried to drown away her odd dream, she heard moans coming from the guys' room.
