Daily Entry 04: Clone Battalion Commander CC-4242: (156 Days ABG)
We're making progress towards the cruiser. We are roughly 42 clicks away from the crash site. Our food supply should last us until we reach the crashed vessel, and I find myself really starting to enjoy Kali'sto's company. He's a good listener, always compassionate towards me. It's been nice, taking a break from being a commander. I'm starting to think that maybe this thing can work. The question is, will this…dynamic persist once we find ourselves in battle?
I've started to think about a name. Not a number, not a nickname or play on my number, like Fortitude with Four-Two. A real name.
Kali'sto told me that people find meaning in their names, they are a symbol of a person's identity, and this is true for all sentients. Even the Jedi, with their "there is no emotion, there is peace" stuff, still value the individual in this way, even if they still see themselves as servants to a higher cause. Much like I do.
Even among my own men, there are a few examples. Splinter is one. And another, more curious case is Lieutenant 66/009, who calls himself "Bonfire." I can only speculate as to why, but I strongly suspect it has something to do with what happened at Geonosis.
Should I write about that…? No. Not yet.
