Alliance Parliament

Ultimate authority to direct the actions of the Alliance Navy lies in the office of the Prime Minister of the Alliance Parliament on Arcturus Station. Amul Shastri was Prime Minister from 2182 to 2186. The authority granted to the Prime Minister is legally absolute, though the Fleet Admiral of the Alliance Navy is the principle commander of all Alliance military assets and is authorised to act in the Prime Minister's stead regarding matters of defence.

Alliance Command

Due to the futility of fighting a war without control of orbit, the Navy serves as the centre of the Alliance military with marines and fighter squadrons serving as specialised branches of the fleet, rather than their own, independent force.

The Alliance Navy is lead by Alliance Command. Also referred to as the Admiralty Board, Alliance Command consists of a couple dozen of the highest ranking officers in the Alliance Navy lead by the Fleet Admiral. Steven Hackett served as Fleet Admiral from 2183 to 2192. Alliance Command is ultimately in charge of personnel, equipment and facilities used by the Alliance Navy and advises the Alliance Parliament on defence matters.

Alliance Command is divided into several separate commands. Fleet Command, Logistics Command and Ground Command.

Fleet Command

Fleet Command is the primary operations group of the Alliance Navy. Responsible for ship deployment, mission structure space operations and troop transport and deployment. All naval vessels report through Fleet Command. Logistics Command and Ground Command also fall under the jurisdiction of Fleet Command. Fleet Command is directly led by the highest ranking admirals of Alliance Command, including the Fleet Admiral, who all serve aboard Dreadnoughts as Fleet Commanders.

Logistics Command

Logistics Command oversee construction, maintenance and distribution of Alliance supplies and equipment. Including Ships, ammunition, replacement parts and food.

Ground Command

Ground Command is responsible for coordinating the operations of ground and air forces. Ground Command's duties include, but are not limited to disaster relief, Infantry operations search and reconnaissance, and other groundside duties.
