Jethro and Shannon had some steak and potatoes for dinner, listening to some music on the radio while hanging out in the basement, working on some planters together for in the backyard, until they both finally called it a night.

Early the next morning, Jethro was in the NCIS gym, working on some Close Combat Training with his team, partnering with DiNozzo and having Ziva work with McGee.

Jethro then got a call, letting him know that Agent Borin had arrived. He then brought his little lesson to a close and headed upstairs with his team.

Everyone gathered in the squad room, Borin showed the team that the captain's vessel had been trolling back and forth in a grid pattern for almost a week, clearly searching for something. It stopped in one location, and, presumably, the murders took place there. She then said that her team was working on satellite imagery of other ships in the area.

"What about my team?" Jethro pressed, his team immediately scrambling back to their desks to give him their reports.

DiNozzo had found several large deposits recently made to the captain's bank account. McGee had set up an interview with Missy Dawkins, who was called by Jensen several times recently.

Just then, the warrant for accessing the storage locker arrived in the printer. In unison, both Jethro and Borin tried to order someone to go investigate the storage unit. Borin quickly defers to Jethro; he sent his Senior Field Agent.

Up in the conference room, McGee interviewed Missy Dawkins, who quickly proved to live up to the stereotype of the dumb blonde.

While McGee was doing that, DiNozzo and Ziva headed to a storage facility to finally gain access to Jensen's unit. It was filled with things that look like they were recovered from shipwrecks, tools, and ocean charts marking various wrecks. Particularly prominent is an article about a ship named the "Calafuego", which seemed to be a "treasure hunter's dream."

Heading down to forensics, Jethro and Borin visited Abby. Still fighting a major headache, Abby has recovered several email messages exchanged between Jensen and Dr. Joseph Mavrey, a renowned surgeon in the D.C. area. The email messages frequently referred to "a cage foul", but Abby had realized that was an anagram for " Calafuego." The forensic scientist then explained that the Calafuego had gone down somewhere off the east coast of the country. "Maybe Jensen was looking for it?"

"Or found it?" Jethro replied.

"Maybe he had a partner," Borin suggested.

"Costs a lot to recover a ship," he pointed out. "They'd have to be rich."

"Very," Borin agreed.

"Thanks, Abs!" he said, giving the forensic scientist a quick kiss on the cheek.

Mavrey immediately came to mind. The man was rich.

Going to the man's house, Mavrey's wife showed Jethro into their gated mansion's sitting room. She told Jethro and Borin that her husband was out of the country. "Another international doctor's group crisis in South America," she explained nervously. "He won't be back for weeks and is unreachable. He turns everything off. He says it distracts him from the work."

She claimed to not recognize Jensen's name and stated that her husband was always meeting so many new people that she couldn't possibly keep up with all of them.

As they leave, Borin stated she thought the wife was covering for her husband and wanted to bring her in for more questioning.

Jethro agreed but told Borin it was smarter for them to wait. "SecNav has pull with the Attorney General. Doctor's Charity. AG's on the board."

"So we'll get it," Borin said.

He nodded, hopping into the car. "I know that!"

In the squad room, McGee had determined that the Calafuego's haul could be quite handsome - $250 million. Dr. Mavrey was likely the funding source, between his medical practice and his sixteen patents. Of course, Dr. Mavrey doesn't need the money at a sufficient enough level to kill his partner, right? Wrong. McGee said one of his patented heart stents was flawed, so there were a lot of lawsuits out there.

Director Vance then appeared and notified Jethro that he spoke to the AG and neither Dr. Mavrey nor his group left the country. Jethro ordered a BOLO and McGee tracked him through his website, where he's performing surgery at his own facility in D.C.

At the clinic, Jethro and Borin were stonewalled by a nurse who claimed Dr. Mavrey wasn't present and hadn't been for days. Jethro barged past her into the surgical theatre only to find Dr. Mavrey's assistant, Dr. Kalsa, who said they hadn't heard from Dr. Mavrey in over a week.

Gibbs and Borin returned to NCIS McGee reported that one of Dr. Mavrey's credit cards hired a private jet to Guam. Borin then told Kyle to call in a Coast Guard intercept to suggest to the pilots of the plane that they might be abetting a fugitive, so they'll land, which actually impressed Jethro.

The next two days had proved quite interesting for all of them.

Thursday, they got the OCAT test done. Jethro did McGee's and Ziva's in the morning, and did DiNozzo's later in the afternoon, as the Senior Field Agent had his annual lie detector test earlier. Friday morning meant getting to the shooting range first thing and getting all their firearms re-qualifications done, both Ziva and McGee getting their lie detector tests done that day as well.

As for the case, new autopsy evidence from Ducky had revealed that their dead Marine was actually Dr. Marvey, and there was more to what happened than they'd thought.

And, in the end, it turned out that Jensen was alive after all. The man seduced Audrey Marvey and then used her to help steal all of her husband's money and was planning on leaving the country alone.

Lieutenant Jensen then killed the doctor and then dressed him in his Navy scuba suit in order to make it look as though he himself was the victim.

"Agent Borin," Vance said after the pair had briefed the director and Jethro's team had largely finished all of their case reports. "I want to thank you personally for working so proficiently with NCIS."

Borin gave a curt nod. "Thank you, Director."

"Agent Gibbs?" Vance said, shooting him a look.

"Yeah," he said. "Thanks."

"I just got off the phone with SECNAV," Vance then informed them. "Now I know turf wars are unavoidable, but I find that cooperating with our sister agencies provides excellent results. Don't you agree, Agent Gibbs?"

"Yeah," he said. "Sure."

"Well," the director said, trying to stop the tension filling in the room, "hopefully, we can do it again soon."

"Anytime," Borin said, turning to face Jethro. "You know where to find me."

"Likewise," he said, shaking her hand.

By then, it was 1830 that evening, and all the case reports done, they all started to head home for the night, more than a little glad that the case had been wrapped up.

He couldn't help but smile though as he watched from the stairs both DiNozzo and Ziva messing around and setting up the plasma in the squad room so that they could watch some movie together.

Rule 12: Never date a co-worker.

Jethro wasn't fond of the office romances, for good reason. There were a lot of reasons and ways it could go wrong. A lot at stake.

But, he knew Ziva in particular was professional and the emotions were clearly there, even if the pair didn't put a label on it.

Jethro wouldn't get rid of the rule completely, but maybe he could adjust it.

With one last glance at the pair, Jethro hopped into the elevator, heading home to his wife, glad it was the weekend and the Quantico team was on hotline duty.

"How was work? Shannon asked, pulling him in for a kiss.

"We got the collar," he replied with a small smile. "Case closed."

"Good," she said happily.

Jethro gave his wife another kiss and then eyed her, looking at her with a warm smile. "And how was your work? How'd your art project go?"

Shannon gave a hearty chuckle. "Well, super messy as you can image," she said, "but it was a huge hit with the kids."

He dipped his head slightly, still smiling. "Figured it would be." He then reached down to pet Bailey who was now jumping up on him. The puppy instantly sat down, grinning up at him as she was petted. "Good girl." Jethro then glanced up at his wife. "Are Kel and Mike still coming over for dinner?"

"Yes," she replied. "They should be here soon, actually." Shannon eyed him. "Dinner's almost done, but can you swap the laundry over?"

"Sure," he said, giving her a peck on the cheek and leaving to do as asked.

It was a mere fifteen minutes later when Kelly and her boyfriend finally pulled into the driveway, Jethro cringing slightly when Michael decided to play a bit of grab ass.

God, he missed when his daughter was little and dating wasn't even a consideration. It wasn't that Michael was disrespectful, far from it in fact, but... Jethro would admittedly be quite content with Kelly becoming a nun.

As Kelly walked in, the young redhead quickly threw her arms around Shannon, doing the same with Jethro a short moment later. "Hi, Dad."

Jethro looked down at his daughter. "Hi, Kelly Babe. How was your week?"

"Good," she said. "Work was pretty busy this week, but nothing we couldn't handle."

"Ah," he said. "Preaching to the choir."

Kelly chuckled. "True."

He eyed his daughter's boyfriend. "And how are you, Michael?"

"Good, sir!" the young man replied. "You know how the job is."

"True," Jethro agreed, "but somebody's gotta do it." He noted that Bailey was jumping up on Michael. "I think she wants a treat," he said with a chuckle.

"It would seem that way," Michael commented with a loud chuckle of his own. "I had a pity growing up. Her name was Silver. Not hard to guess her colouring."

"Good dogs," he replied. "I always figured they get a bad rap."

Michael nodded. "Most of the time it's the owners' fault."

"Just gotta treat them right," Shannon added.

"Exactly," Michael agreed. "Best dog we ever had." The young man continued to give Bailey attention. "And this girl's just a sweetheart."

"Don't let her fool you," Shannon said with a soft chuckle, "she knows she's cute." Her gaze proceeded to land on Jethro. "Took her no time at all to get my husband wrapped around her finger."

"She's pretty dang cute," Kelly said, leaning down and petting Bailey as well.

He raised an eyebrow at Shannon. "See, Shan?"

His wife just rolled her eyes at him. "Don't encourage him, Kelly."

The three of them snickered causing Shannon to feign exasperation.

They all prattled on for another couple of minutes before finally making their way to the dining area to sit down and have dinner.

As always, Shannon had completely outdone herself with dinner; she always had been a phenomenal cook. His wife had made them a cranberry pork roast, a cherry-farro salad, roasted potatoes, roasted green beans as well as lemon squares for dessert.

Dinner continued quite amicably, everyone chatting and enjoying themselves.

Jethro admittedly did find that Michael was starting to grow on him; not that he would actually tell the boy that any time soon.
