So I'm back with an update of InuKik genderbend fluffy goodness, YAAAAS
I'm sorry I haven't been updating my stories much lately, I had a bit of a dip in my mental health last week and my anxiety wasn't good. I'm also focusing on a lot of non fiction work I want to get published into books. I hope you like this update and please let me know if you have any requests :3
InuYuki approached her mothers grave hesitantly, gripping a bouquet of wildflowers in her hand tightly, the scent of their sweet perfume wafting up her nose. Allowing her memories to drift to the past, to her naive youth of before she had known loss or suffering. Her golden eyes shiny with unshed tears, biting her fangs into her lip harshly. The pain was still there, feeling herself become that small frightened child, her lack of a maternal figure growing up causing her to yearn one all the more. Bitter at how much she had been robbed of so early in life. Had it been her punishment all along for being born a Hanyo? That she wasn't allowed to know happiness, to know peace? How had the time passed so quickly? Eternity stretching out before her and yet she had been living in a dream, simply focusing on protecting herself, foraging and finding a safe place to sleep. How had she been alone for so long and survived? Never knowing friends, family or even a safe haven? Her mothers anniversary was coming up, marking the date of her death, the day in which her illness had grown stronger, her health deteriorating though she tried to hide it from her child. Before she soon collapsed and became bedridden, her daughter never leaving her side once. Though many of the courtiers tried to isolate her from her mother, Izayoi wouldn't hear of it, keeping her daughter close until her dying breath. Without her mothers protection she couldn't prevent the hateful cruelty directed at InuYuki. Several decades had passed since that day and yet the wounds still felt fresh in her mind, the loss she had never been able to recover from. Never forgetting her face, embedded into her mind, sometimes she found herself dreaming where her mother never died. Yearning for the affection she had been denied her whole life, that safe place she had known in which she had hoped had lasted forever. The maternal love she had briefly known as a child before her untimely death.
The scent of her mother's perfume, the softness of her long black hair, the gentle voice that whispered tender words in her ears. The day she changed into a human child for the first time and lost her demon powers, her mother explaining the truth of her heritage to her. How lonely it had been without her presence, her warmth and her love, she had been the only person in her life to truly love and accept her as she was. The person who brought her into this world, the woman who carried her in her womb and showed pride in the life she made. Never regretting her decision to mate with a demon after falling in love with him. She knew nobody else aside from Myoga would ever remember her, left to be forgotten as if she had never existed at all. Travelling whenever she could to clean her mothers grave, making sure the stone never became to worn down, clearing away straggling weeds from crawling all over the grave like a parasite. Protecting it from the damages of time, so she felt loved, sometimes she would sneak some incense from Kichirou's temple, watching it burn as the musk filled the air. She knew nobody else would, nobody else would respect her memory.
Sesshoumaru had loathed the woman, seeing her responsible for their father's death, he hated all humans seeing them as a lesser species. Never understanding how his father had a fondness for them. He would never honour her life, seeing her as a hindrance, InuYuki being a memory of their relationship. Compared to other Hanyou's born into the world, she wasn't a common villager, born into poverty or hardship, InuYasha's father Touga was the great dog general of the western lands, her mother had been a princess in the royal court. Despite Sesshoumaru hating her for being a half-blood, she was of royal descent and she always would be, but her brother would never accept her as such, hating her till the end of her life. No matter her title as Princess of the western lands, Sesshoumaru whom was supposed to become her legal guardian and protector chose to ignore her. Only speaking to her when it suited him or when he needed something. Showing her nothing but apathy and coldness, mocking and insulting her whenever he got the chance. Feared by humans as a monster and hated by demons for her tainted blood, trapped in-between worlds and never able to truly be accepted into either. She was lucky to have been educated somewhat before becoming an orphan, allowing her a head-start in the world, giving her the common sense so many young Hanyou were never educated on. Her mother taught her all she knew about medicine, dried and fresh, though it was purely the basics it was still important knowledge. Meaning if she ever got sick or injured she knew how to heal herself as to remain strong.
Her mother showering her in affection and reminding her of how precious she was, how loved she was, so she never knew loneliness. Her mother always defending her from the cruel gaze of others, making sure nobody harmed her child and she only knew happiness. Teaching her how to sow in case she ever needed to make her clothes or repair her fathers robe of the fire rat. She had been but a pup when her mother passed away, in human years she was but a five-year-old, her childhood ripped from under her before she could even experience it. Wrapped in her mothers arms, her body turned cold and rigid, her skin pale and empty. Her scent was cold and her heartbeat was gone, InuYuki crying for her mother, her sadness echoing through the house. Knowing she was all alone, that she would never see her mother again. Ripped away from her mother as the servants were made aware of her passing, knowing she wasn't wanted there. Sneaking into her mothers funeral to leave flowers, memorizing her grave so she could always find her. Cast out of the royal castle by the guards and abandoned in the street to fend for herself, nothing but her mothers rouge and her father's old robe on her back, alone, frightened and hungry. Walking through the streets under the judgemental gaze of people, her stomach empty and her heart broken. Stewing in her grief and reflecting on where her life would lead, her father was dead so he couldn't claim her as his own, her brother disowned her and refused to acknowledge her. She had no place to call home and no family who would want her. So she escaped into the wilderness and survived as best she could until she became a strong and noble warrior, using all the education her mother had imbued her with. Finding non poisonous plants in the forest she could eat, learning to fish and hunt, finding food to fill her belly and help her grow. She learned how to use her demon powers to protect herself and hide when her human blood became dominant. Living in isolation happily, avoiding male demons who may rarely take an interest in her and force her into marriage.
Then she found Kichirou's village, through her travels she became curious of the tale of the Shikon Jewel and the priest who protected it. At first she had thought about robbing them and stealing their food to feed herself, but things had changed. She found a new home, a new family, a new place to belong, she wished more than anything that her mother could be here with her now. To see her growth, to see how far she'd come, to see how proud she would be, to be able to share her stories and earn the praise of the person who always believed in her. But they were mere childish fantasies that would have never come to pass. The heartbreaking reality was, even if she hadn't lost her mother so early in her life, she would have outlived her mother by decades, centuries, human lives in comparison to her were so brief. She had been given a blessing by losing her mother as a child, she never had to watch her grow old or die. She whimpered sadly, wiping the tears that spilt down her cheeks with her sleeve, her brother would have scolded her for having such emotions. Calling her weak, but this was proof she was loved, that she had a heart. Inheriting her fathers empathy for humans "I miss you Okaa-san, I wish you were still here" she sniffed. She longed to feel the warm embrace of her mother, that safety that couldn't be replaced by any other feeling. To breathe in her perfume one last time, to be held and comforted, to stroke her hair and sing her a lullaby. She'd never thought she could endure such loneliness, to know she could only rely on herself.
Suddenly, her ears twitched as she sensed someone approaching, aware of the possible approaching danger, she had told nobody of this location, she always went alone so nobody could track her. It was a private burial ground, a personal place for only her, only close family members and any living servant would be long since dead. To visit when she missed her mother, when she wanted to be close to her. She gripped her claws, prepared to fight if she had to, she would protect this place with her life. If it was Sesshoumaru come looking for a fight, then she would have no issue kicking his ass, he wouldn't let him disrespect her or her mother in such a sacred place. She was used to his abuse but he wouldn't disrespect anyone here, her resting place. Her gaze softened as she saw Kichirou approaching with a fond smile, his bow and arrow over his shoulder, a bouquet of fresh lilies in his grasp. All of her rage dissipating instantly, as though time stopped, her heart fluttering in her chest. She knew how powerful a priest he was, nobody could match his spiritual powers, he'd followed her demonic aura to this place, worried for her wellbeing. He'd put himself at risk because he couldn't leave her alone. InuYuki softened, filled with guilt that she nearly attacked her mate, relieved she had listened to her instincts and turned to face him. But she couldn't help but feel panic as to why he was here, had he been on a mission or visiting another village? "Kichirou? Why did you follow me here?" she pressed anxiously. What about the village? His brother, would they be safe? She had come to look at Kaede as a younger brother, family she never had. Though he could be a pain in the ass she cared immensely for him.
Kichirou's smile deepened into one of tenderness, wondering if InuYuki had ever known a moment when she didn't need to protect herself. Forever dealing with her problems alone, still hesitant to trust those around her. Yet he harboured no resentment or anger towards her, approaching InuYuki to pat her head affectionately. "I left Kaede under the protection of the villagers, I was worried about you. I came to leave an offering" he soothed. He knew InuYuki was strong, but she wasn't immortal, she could easily be killed and die the same as anyone else, there would always be a demon who was stronger than her. Though she was the child of a DaiYokai, she had enemies, people who may harbour grudges towards her half brother or father and take it out on her. He didn't want his lover to come to harm, not when he was around. He approached the grave, kneeling respectfully to place the flowers atop the grave, closing his eyes as he prayed before the grave, leaving his blessing. Princess Izayoi had been a doting mother to InuYuki and loved her dearly, she had meant a lot to InuYuki and losing her had broken the Hanyou's heart. He wanted to leave a blessing in her memory, to hope she would hear his message in the beyond, to know her child was safe. He was happy that this woman gave birth to the hanyou he loved, that because of her relationship with a DaiYokai, he had found his soulmate.
InuYuki was touched, wondering if he was aware this simple gesture caused her love for him to grow beyond comprehension. Their bond only deepening by the second, Kichirou was a stranger to Izayoi, he had no personal relations nor memories of her, he didn't have to do this for her. But it meant a lot, to know someone else cared, that a stranger could show respect to the dead. Kichirou then got to his feet, patting down his hakama trousers, turning towards InuYuki and smiling at her, approaching his mate and enveloping her in a protective hug. Wrapping his arms around her body and burying his nose in her hair. She smelled like wild flowers and sunshine, yet he could sense her sadness. Flowing into him like a wave of emptiness, unable to contain it within herself. He could see she was crying, he could see how hurt she was, that painfully tragic expression of loneliness, her years of self defensive walls crumbling before him. He wanted to hold her, he wanted to protect her, he wanted her to know she was loved, "Ometedou InuYuki, you were very brave today" he praised.
InuYuki stiffened, a small whimper escaping her lips, he couldn't handle how sweet he was to her, how someone like him could be capable of such kindness. Her body began to tremble as she pressed herself against his body, her golden eyes filling up with tears, spilling down her cheeks and soaking his robes. She was aware she must have appeared childish, but she didn't care, she couldn't keep it within herself anymore. Those were the words she needed to hear, the words of comfort she had longed for, the words she never thought could be so precious "Yasashii" she sobbed. If he kept spoiling her like this, showing her such kindness, she would become selfish and clingy, constantly taking advantage of his kindness. She was so spoiled by him, she felt like she was becoming a brat, unable to live without him.
Kichirou hummed, sometimes he feared that when she cried she may shatter like glass within his arms "Your smile is beautiful, I want to protect it, I want to protect you. Aishiteru yo, InuYuki" he soothed. Her smile was always so bright and perfect like the sun, so warm and welcoming. He never wanted her to know hardship ever again, only peace and contentment. He would happily live his life protecting her and healing the broken heart she had nursed all alone. She may have been stronger than him, her demon blood acting as her shield, but nobody protected her fragile heart.
InuYuki pouted, he wasn't being fair, she could feel herself crumbling, flustered and embarrassed and yet so happy. He was such a romantic poet at heart, yet she was just an awkward, stubborn mess. She need only look into his deep brown eyes and she became lost, drowning in the feeling of love "Baka" she mumbled against his chest. He was saying such weird mushy shit, humans were able to speak their feelings so easily compared to demons, holding nothing back. But hearing it made her so happy, making her glad she met him, how he changed her life for the better. Kichirou tilted her head back to gaze into her eyes, her eyes always reminded him of honey, deep, golden and so beautiful. Her silver hair like the stars, so shiny and beautiful. Her eyes were slightly red and puffy from crying, yet it awoke the primitive dominance in him, the desire to protect, the desire to comfort. To kill anyone who would ever want to make her cry, make her suffer. He stroked her face fondly, her skin so soft and warm, cupping her cheek and leaning towards InuYuki to kiss her tenderly. He never got tired of her kisses, her lips reminding him of flower petals, the taste so sweet he could become addicted. He wanted to comfort her, he wanted to make her feel loved. To treat her like the princess she was and the goddess he perceived her to be. InuYuki blushed, caught off guard by his gesture, though she had been kissed before, whenever he took the lead he surprised her. Aware of his masculinity and strength as a man, not just a mere mortal. But she leaned up on her tiptoes, gripping onto his robe tightly, the height difference could often be awkward for her. She knew her mother would have blessed this love, she wanted InuYuki to be happy with someone she loved, Kichirou was that man.
