I've written a InuYashaxKikyo fic about if they had a child together, but I just like having small shorts of imagining the same for their genderbent version

InuYuki was never accustomed to this sort of attention, her whole life she had been seen as something disgusting, shameful and hated, her mother attempting to shield her from the cruelty as best she could until she passed. That she would never be recognised as royal blood, be it through her mothers bloodline or her father's Warlord general status. She was told she was a burden, a monster, a freak, that she had dirty blood. Forcing her to accept she was unwanted, that she had no place in the world. Those that didn't hate her wanted to use her rare DaiYokai blood to procreate powerful offspring with their own, the only thing her shitty half brother protected her from, saying he couldn't allow their lineage to be poisoned. Many lower rank demons could sense her demonic power, knowing her InuYokai bloodline was fine and after the passing of her father, she was expected to carry on the family. Her half brother saw her as a political tool and had no interest in taking up a bride at this time. InuYuki had been forced to fight off any admirers and hidden herself away so her brother couldn't find her. Which is what led to her finding shelter in Kichirou's village, finally feeling safe for the first time in her life. Though it took time, she slowly warmed up to the villagers, realising she belonged there, that she was considered one of them. As of late, the village children of Kichirou's village had become rather enthusiastically interested in her. She knew children got bored and finding entertainment while their parents worked in the field wasn't easy. They just so happened to become attached to her, following her around like lost puppies, not that she minded, she just didn't understand why they weren't scared of her. The parents didn't try and convince them otherwise, they trusted their children in her safety and praised her for keeping them entertained. Asking her to play with them, offering them their ball, some offering her flowers, sometimes she would let them ride on her back, sometimes she would go fishing down by the lake, sometimes they would go swimming and go foraging. Always proudly showing her what they had found and giving her the prettiest things. Some even wanted to touch her hair or ears, which had become their newest obsession.

InuYuki found herself flustered and at a loss for words, unable to handle the purity of the children, their curiosity of her and genuine interest in befriending her. They didn't see with the hatred of adults, they didn't see half demons as monsters yet, all they knew were the monstrous ogres and inhuman looking demons. Sometimes she wondered if this was a dream, wondering when it would all come crumbling down around her. Confused as to why these children were so eager in getting to know her. Growing up children avoided her, scared of her demon blood, believing her to be a monster, throwing names at her, verbally abusing her for even existing, reminding her she had no place in the world. Physically abusing her, throwing rocks, sticks, mud and other unpleasant things at her, treating her like a freak. Parents would whisper at her, if she wanted food she would have to steal it or forage it for herself. Kids would hide behind their parents, scream in terror at her or call her names. The amount of bruises, cuts and wounds she had endured from other children's torments still lingered at the back of her mind. Reminding her that she wasn't wanted. She wasn't used to positive attention, especially not from children, for the first time in her life, she was met with kindness and understanding. These children were nothing like the ones she knew growing up. So here she sat in a field nearby the village, surrounded by nearby forests, flowers and rice fields, making sure the children didn't stray far from the village.

"Miss Yuki, you have such pretty hair" one child said, gently reaching out to stroke her hair, admiring it in his hands affectionately, it was funny how gentle kids could be in comparison to adults. All of the children loved her hair, though none of them had seen her in human form, many questioned if she was as pretty as a human as she was a demon. Comparing her hair to snow, to starlight, to moonlight, all pure reflections of nature itself. Reminding of her what her mother used to say as a child when talking about her late father.

"Can I touch your ears?" another asked, she had noticed them admiring her ears with wonder, watching them twitch on occasion. InuYuki remembered as a child, her mother would kiss her ears, tickle them or stroke them. She always made sure they were cleaned properly in the bath and explained how much her father would have loved them. But then as she got older her ears were a sign of her demon blood, humans treating her coldly and calling her a freak. Demons mocking her and hunting her for sport. Something she had once been praised for becoming something shameful.

"Do you have a tail too?" a curious one asked, some demons had tails, some demons didn't, some half breeds had tails, others didn't. Given Miss InuYuki was a half dog demon, then surely she must have ears as well as a tail. He wondered how she kept it hidden and how nobody had seen one.

InuYuki blushed, not sure of how to respond to all their relentless questions, being showered in compliments, praise, adoration and curiosity. These children were harmless, simply wishing to understand her, educate themselves, being respectful. She knew if she said no they would understand and wouldn't get angry at her, she knew they would respect her wishes if she told them so. Gazing upon her like a heroine, a superhero in their eyes, the Hanyou who protected their village from danger. She wasn't used to the admiration of anyone, especially children. She had never had anyone treat her with respect or decency, she was mocked, shunned, all half demon children met the same fate. But these children were different, their eyes weren't filled with hatred, bitterness or anger. Her heart still carried the wounds of being shunned and hated for even existing, she was always prepared to run, escape and hide should she be met with any hostility. Making her own place in the world to thrive and live, by her own rules. This was a lot to process. The children continued to watch her, hanging onto her silence and smiling brightly, waiting for her to respond. She didn't want them to pester her and she didn't want to ruin their harmless fun either. She shifted nervously, though her pain tolerance was higher than a humans she could still feel pain. Just this once she would allow them to act on their curiosity. "S.. sure, just don't pull" she mumbled, she knew it would hurt and they would be sensitive for a while. She had bad memories of her ears being pulled, bad memories of them being used to inflict pain onto her. Her ears were stronger than a humans, she could hear things that others couldn't, prey, attackers, enemies and more.

The children's eyes lit up with delight, practically bouncing with excitement, squealing and giggling amongst themselves. She was sure they would be boasting about this to their parents later on. Allowing some on her lap to better reach her ears, making sure not to hurt her as they did so. One hesitantly reached up to touch her ears, admiring how soft and fluffy they were, enjoying the fluffiness of her fur, how soft they were and how pointy, occasionally twitching on contact. Wondering what she was listening to, whether she was ticklish, watching her reaction to make sure it was still ok.

"Soft" the child mumbled in awe, acting as though this was the softest thing he had ever touched. As if he believed her ears would be rough, her ears would be spiky like horns. A new door unlocked to create this memory and remember what they felt like.

Another child gently stroked her hair between their fingers, the silkiness slipping through their fingers, how shiny it was in comparison to theirs. InuYuki remembered how her mother would comb her hair as a child, easing the knots from between them. As she got older she had to tend to her hair herself, though when fighting for your life it became less of an issue. Her hair texture and appearance would feel different than a human. "It looks like snow" they giggled, so white, pure and shiny, it wasn't like any hair they had ever seen before. Just like the other child they made sure not to pull or yank her hair which would cause her pain. Starting to braid the small amount of hair they could get their hands on, styling it between their fingers.

InuYuki hummed, she had been nervous about spending time with the children, whether they would be scared of her or ask odd questions. She would indeed enjoy babysitting the children again if the parents asked. She was still adapting to the fact she was welcomed here, she had no reason to feel afraid or assume she would be driven away. But instead she was pleasantly refreshed at how gentle and sweet they were, hoping that if they should cross paths with another Hanyou someday, they would be as kind and respectful as they were towards her. Remembering their meeting with her and trying to understand others. Ignorant adults taught them to be hateful, their hatred, distrust and fear of demons was projected and influenced onto their children. Influencing another generation to be cruel towards half breed children without ever understanding them. Innocent children were capable of love, they were capable of befriending and comforting others. They would protect others without question if they sensed goodness in another soul. Thus their acceptance and protectiveness towards her.

Suddenly, she felt a movement on her skirt, the material flipping up as she felt wind underneath her robes, everything happening too fast for her to react. A child standing behind her with a curious look "No tail" they stated in confusion. InuYuki blushed, instantly grasping her skirt and pulling it down hoping no adults just got a flash, her face darkening to match her kimono. Though she didn't get angry at the child she was very frustrated and embarrassed. Her kimono was made from the altered robe of the fire rat her father left to her. Though an underskirt was made, it reached her mid upper thigh for convenience when hunting. Short enough for small children to flip and pull. Though the children were harmless, she had been at the mercy of perverted human males and demons alike in the past.

"Good afternoon children, InuYuki" a familiar voice called, he was pleased to see she was bonding with the village children, how quickly they had accepted her and how much fun they were having. He knew InuYuki was still adapting the responsibilities placed upon her as the second guardian of the village. Protecting the temple, fighting off rogue demons, babysitting the children on occasion as well as hunting. But he was proud of her development and how well she was doing. She was cementing her place in the village and proving herself to be their ally and a member of their village community. InuYuki felt her face turn darker, steam erupting from her head, why now of all times, why Kichirou of all people? Why did he have to show up at the worst possible timing. She wanted to die, he better not have just seen her skirt get flipped, anyone but him. She didn't want him to tease her or remind her of it happening.

Kichirou smiled, he could see InuYuki was embarrassed, overwhelmed and shy, he knew InuYuki's half brother had been incessantly cruel towards her growing up. InuYuki had no place to call home, but now she had the place she had always longed for in the village. She would always be welcome here and everyone had come to love her. She seemed happy and he was pleased she was bonding with the children, showing patience with them, never once snapping at them or being mean. He could see her ears twitching and listening to them, allowing them to touch her ears and hair, despite her reservations about it. He'd been watching from afar, giving her privacy but making sure they were all safe, even with the barrier around the village, it didn't deter enemies from attempting attacks. He knew InuYuki had forged many through her father's past, but also her brother, all seeking revenge. He couldn't help but reflect on their future together, the life he wished to share alongside her. Wondering what their children would be like, what InuYuki would be like as a mother to their children, whether she would show the same doting care as she was now. What their children would be like as they grew up, whether they would have her stubborn streak or his indifference, if they would harbour his spiritual essence too, alongside her potent demonic blood. What kind of parents they would be, a half breed princess and a priest?

InuYuki directed her gaze at him, blushing, so many questions running through her mind but no idea of how to confront him on the matter. How long had he been watching her?How long had he been listening? How much blackmail had he managed to accumulate to tease her? As the protector of the temple, the only priest of the village, it was his job to protect the villagers and any danger that would befall them. Just what had he heard herself and the children discussing? She knew he enjoyed teasing her on occasion and he had possibly found new material by overhearing them.

"I'm glad you are getting along well" Kichirou praised, the children left offerings at the temple and occasionally brought him gifts. Presents he decorated his home with but also presented in the temple to show gratitude. He hoped that in time InuYuki would be given the same treatment, flowers she could wear as a crown, decorate the hut with and more. She deserved to be spoiled, admired and cared for, all the love she deserved. It showed that she was accepted by the village, that she was seen as one of them, that they had come to love her too.

"Lord Kichirou? Is Lady InuYuki your wife now?" a child asked, they had heard their parents saying how much he loved her, talking about getting married. Many had been discussing how close the two had become, the tender and gentle way in which he treated her and how protective they were over one another. Many could sense the blossoming love between the two and how much they had come to care for each other. It was only a matter of time before he proposed to her, everyone already accepting they were a perfect match. Many already discussing wedding gifts, offerings and what they would wear on their wedding day.

InuYuki and Kichirou blushed simultaneously, though undeniably in love with one another. Kichirou had never pressed matters of the nature of where their relationship would lead. He cared profusely for her and admittedly had considered raising a family with her in the future. However, he never pushed the subject onto her until she felt ready, but the vision of her becoming his wife filled him with joy. InuYuki had never seen herself falling in love with anyone, let alone a human due to the abuse at the hands of both. She didn't even know if Kichirou could marry as a priest. But to become his mate, his wife, nothing would make her happier.

"Will you make babies?" another asked, if Lady InuYuki had a baby would that child become a priest or priestess too? Would they look like either of them? Would they have powers? Didn't all people who fell in love have a baby together?

"Will they have pretty silver hair too?" the last asked eagerly

InuYuki hid behind her hair, too stunned to speak as she screamed internally, freaking out about the children's questions. How had things escalated to this severity so soon? She didn't know how to feel and she was freaking out. First it was about her appearance and now it was about her relationship with Kichirou. These children didn't understand what was embarrassing or possibly rude about these questions, they merely knew what small intuitions they could sense from observing adults. Most couples in the village had babies or children of their own, so of course they would project that onto other couples. But she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed, she had so many expectations and one of them was whether she would carry on the lineage of both her family line and Kichirou's. She and Kichirou had been mates barely a year, though she loved him dearly, this wasn't a subject they had discussed but she had considered. Marrying him and becoming the co protector of the village, taking on the mantle as his wife officially, her half brother would of course be disgusted and angry. She wouldn't be sent blessings nor gifts of any kind. She would have expectations of her new territory and people. Mating with him and bearing his children, the whole ceremony, it was too much to think about. She knew her mother would have gone through the same thing meeting her father. She knew she was once in her place and felt the same things she did. But she wished she was here now to offer her words of advice.

"Lady InuYuki is embarrassed"

"She's blushing"

Kichirou sighed wearily, allowing InuYuki to hide behind him awkwardly and hide her face from the children. Laughing to himself nervously as he wondered whether she would sulk later or merely turn quiet. Though he thought it best to simply enjoy the moment.
