Timeline: After Rahu shows.
Chapter 16: A 'storm' approaching
Anna was falling together with Matamune. She reached for him, yet her hand was too far and he was falling ahead of her so fast. Then she saw the big oni opening his big ugly mouth to eat him and her. She screamed.
The girl opened her eyes in the darkness and stood up from her bed looking around trying to assess the situation. Her eyes landed on the sleeping form laying close to her own futon. She crawled towards it and reached with her hand towards his shoulder, shaking it.
"Yoh!"
Her voice was shaky.
"Anna…?" He replied sleepily turning towards the voice, trying to blink the sleep away.
"I…" Hearing his voice somehow grounded her into present, bringing her the comfort she so desperately needed to make sure what she just saw had been indeed just a bad dream and the present moment was the reality she was living in. At the same time, she kept her hand on Yoh's shoulder, grasping it firmly, to strengthen this conviction as much as to make sure no oni would somehow appear and take him away from her, despite the fact that everything around seemed fine.
She then looked around the room and, despite the darkness, she couldn't see or feel any other presence than hers or Yoh's or Amidamaru's lying dormant nearby. She could only hear her own racing heart and ragged breaths, so she realized with relief that her powers didn't turn on by themselves, so no malevolent entity should be around.
"Did you have a nightmare? Anything around…?" Yoh asked also inspecting the room, trying to see in the dark or at least feel any presence, but he could sense none, so he relaxed.
"No, just a nightmare…" Anna sighed lowering her head, rubbing her forehead with her free hand in annoyance.
Yoh put his hand over her hand from his shoulder to comfort her and moved their intertwined hands in her lap where he gave her a reassuring squeeze.
"I'm sorry Yoh, this was so stupid of me…" Anna said growing upset at her weakness, now that she was finally able to push her fears aside.
"No, it's fine, that's why we're sleeping in the same room, so don't worry. I am happy if I somehow helped." The boy replied smiling reassuringly in her direction despite the rather dark room.
"We should go back to sleep, you have training in the morning…" Anna pressed on, still feeling ashamed of herself for falling so easily for her mind's tricks.
"Anna, it's OK, honestly. We're in this together, so don't be so hard on yourself. Would you push me away if I had a bad dream and come crying to you?"
"I wasn't crying!" She snapped but then added "…I would have probably lectured you for being such a coward, but no, I wouldn't push you away. But this is diff…"
"No, it's not, now stop blaming yourself, I am glad you woke me up to check if there's an oni hiding in the room. I would honestly want to know those things."
"Yoh this is not funny." She snarled trying to suppress the thin smile that almost reached the corners of her mouth.
Some of his words broke through her resolve, blowing her anger away with his cheerful voice and serene aura and making her give up on tormenting herself. After all, that would only bring more negative thoughts and she knew very well that could actually make an oni appear.
"Yes, I know it's serious, but I was just trying to make you feel better." The boy beamed trying to read her reactions in the dimly lighted room.
"I know. Thank you. But now back to sleep." She ordered, yet she didn't release his hand from her hold and he didn't make any move either.
'Damn, why can't I just let go of his hand!' She cursed her weakness once again and closed her eyes trying to think of anything else than her negative overwhelming thoughts so she rememorated her date with Yoh. She'll just focus on those moments and maybe then she'll be able to overcome her 'weakness'.
Yoh in the meantime, waited patiently for her to move first, but nothing happened, so he was content to wait in silence. After a while, her body leaned forward a bit and the boy realized she'd actually fallen asleep. He put his free hand gently around her, not to wake her, and moved her into a laying position. However, when he tried to move his hand away from her back, her hand moved at lightning speed grabbing it in a strong grip.
He froze and looked at her - she was sound asleep.
'I almost forgot she has those reflexes in her sleep.' Yoh chuckled internally.
Yoh then tried to release his other hand from her hold but Anna just squeezed it harder, bringing it close to her chest, before she curled up around it.
'I'm rather stuck in an awkward position…' Yoh thought looking sheepishly at his fiancée's strong grips on both of his hands.
Since there wasn't much he could do or move, Yoh decided he might as well lay next to her until he could free his hands.
Ever since he moved in the room with her, this was the first time she had such a terrible nightmare. He assumed something must have really rattled her - Rahu? The Shaman competition starting? Or maybe even the Matamune looking kitty from the park. Something told him the last one might have been the answer…
Anna uncurled slightly relaxing into his hold and unconsciously moved closer to him. Her hold on his arm around her loosened, yet the boy didn't move it from her back, continuing to hold her, afraid to move and awake her. The girl didn't, however, release his other hand.
Yoh blushed and his heart started racing while his throat suddenly felt very dry. He was so nervous! It's not like he didn't like holding her in a half hug, but he preferred her awake when he was this close to her.
There was also something about her vulnerable sleeping form in his hold that made him feel rather overwhelmed by multiple sentiments. A mix of deep astonishing love, willingness to protect her despite her strong character, gratefulness for her blind trust in him in any situation, sadness over her worry, helplessness towards better supporting her in her battle against her own mind and many other mostly positive emotions crossed his mind at lightning speed, making his heart beat faster with each passing feeling.
Despite the flood of sentiments, Yoh didn't feel bad - he actually enjoyed all of them and rather than feeling anxious, he felt in fact empowered by them and motivated to reach his goal of becoming shaman king so he could give them their easy laid-back life. Then she won't be tormented anymore and they could both rest peacefully together at night.
It took another half an hour or so before his rush of emotions and racing heartbeats started to calm down and get used to their intimate closure. He finally felt his eyes closing, all the tiredness kicking him full force.
He should try to move his hands away and go back to his bed since he could feel her body was also rather limp and relaxed now, free of his hold. However, he felt his limbs so heavy. And it felt so nice and warm to be close to her. To know she felt so at peace with him and to feel at peace in her arms. And loved. His eyes closed. He dozed off.
Morning came, yet none of the teens woke up at the usual hour, the night's events making them sleep more. Yoh was now sleeping on Anna's chest, hands around her torso. The girl had turned on her back and was laying with her arms around his body.
Amidamaru was tasked with waking up Yoh for his training, yet he wasn't sure how to do it without waking up Anna. He was surprised to find the teens so close to one another, so completely mortified and face red as a tomato, he kept himself invisible and decided to let them be for now. It's not like he could say anything anyway considering his level of embarrassment.
Anna's internal body clock made her stir awake. The light was also becoming brighter, so she opened her eyes drowsy, feeling something soft, yet tickly just above her chin. There was also something rather wet on her neck…
Her face coloured instantly and her eyes grew wide upon realizing that the source was Yoh. The scream she was about to give got stuck in her throat. She moved her hands on his shoulders trying to move him away and ignoring the fact she'd been hugging him, yet that made him only tighten his hold around her, slightly pulling at her yukata.
"Y-Y-Yoh!" Anna mumbled her face completely red from the awkward situation, finding it hard to form a coherent sentence.
Truth to be told, she wasn't sure how they got in this position. She vaguely remembered a bad dream, waking up, talking to Yoh, not wanting to let go of his hand and the rest was all a blur. If she hadn't found Yoh sleeping on her, she would have certainly thought everything had just been a dream!
"Yoh, wake up!" She said her voice getting louder and annoyed.
"But so warm." Yoh murmured with a content big smile nuzzling into her neck obviously thinking it's his pillow.
"Yoh, please, you're drooling all over me and I swear I'll scream so loud Manta will hear us from his house if you don't move." Anna threatened her voice becoming rather pitchy, the irritation very clear now.
As much as she loved him holding her, she was becoming increasingly uncomfortable from his unconscious gestures.
Sensing her anger, Yoh opened one eye and then he just jumped off her, landing on his bottom and almost falling on his back.
"I apologize, Anna, I swear you grabbed my hands and just held on to them and I also didn't want to wake you up, so I waited for some time to pass before trying again, but I must have dozed off." The boy explained face all red, eyes looking at the ground absolutely mortified by the situation.
"Oh, yes, I remember I was holding your hand, did anything else happen?" Anna asked trying to recall the events from the night while she adjusted her yukata.
"Yes and no. You fell asleep standing up so I put you to bed, but then you kept on holding my hand in your sleep and grabbed the other and…"
"Did I hit you?" Her eyes narrowed.
"No, you didn't, but you didn't let go of my hands for some time, so I just rested next to you and I kind of fell asleep. I am sorry, I swear I didn't do anything inappropriate!" Yoh explained genuinely worried about her reaction, head still hanging low.
"Calm down Yoh, I trust you and I trust you wouldn't do anything inappropriate because I know you. I also did give you my consent for you to invade my space, so stop apologizing, everything is fine. I'm just…not used to sharing my space this much and I also needed to wake up…" Anna commented uncertain, still flustered by the events.
"Then I'm glad I didn't upset you." The boy said relieved finally making eye contact, yet he was still blushing.
"No, you didn't, but I will sure be angry if I don't see you making up for the hours you missed not training because you slept in. Now go and I'd better not see you for at least two hours. I've left your weights in the hall near the entrance." The girl changed the topic trying to calm her racing heart and move on from the awkward situation.
"Yes, on it! I'm also meeting Manta, uhhh, I'm late. I better ran!" Yoh waved as he grabbed his clothes and burst out of the room.
Anna sighed before she also got up, preparing to change.
"Hi Yoh! Glad you finally came almost one hour later than planned…I thought you had forgotten or Anna locked you in the house!" Manta greeted his friend upon seeing him.
"Hi Manta, sorry! I slept it…"
"You slept in and you're still walking? Anna must be in a good mood because of Rahu showing up if she didn't beat you up for starting training so late…"
"Well, her good mood is definitely not showing on the weights, she tripled them overnight." Yoh complained dragging his body from his meeting point with Manta towards his running route while his friend cycled along. "Everything hurts!"
"Speaking of Anna…Yoh, there's something I have to tell you, but I have to ask you something before…"
"What is it Manta? What's with the serious tone?"
"Yoh, what's your relationship to Anna?" Manta asked - he needed to know how much his friend was in love with Anna, so he'll know how much he needed to 'soften' the bad news about her.
"We're engaged."
"No, sorry, I mean, what's your opinion on it? Not what your family thinks, but your opinion on her, as in you have feelings for her? You like her as a friend? I am sorry if I sound nosy, but, you know, we're friends, so I thought it's OK to ask…"
Yoh stopped his running, blushing. He did not expect Manta to ask him so bluntly. His friend however cycled ahead and barely managed to stop and peddle back.
"Yoh?" Manta looked at his face concern growing upon trying to read his reaction.
"W-what made you a-ask?" Yoh mumbled blushing avoiding answering - not that he knew how.
"I found out something about Anna and I want to know how you feel about her, so I'll know how to tell you the best."
"Something bad?"
"Unfortunately, yes…"
"Just tell me then."
"I can't just tell you, it's serious!"
"The more because it's serious you should tell me immediately!" Yoh demanded stepping in front of Manta's bike to put his hands on his friend's little shoulders.
"Yoh…" Manta's eyes grew as he pressed on the breaks.
He never saw his chill laid back friend so worked up over something before. Even when he fought Ren, he still didn't get this level of worry that was now almost turning into a full panic judging by Yoh's sudden frown. 'Yoh can frown?!' Manta thought watching his friend.
'What did Manta find out? Does he know about the onis? But how?! It can't be that! Did he find out something from school? Is someone bullying her? I really hope not, she really doesn't need more negativity, she can barely handle the past and recent ones, she doesn't need a new fresh source. Or did someone pick on her? Why isn't he telling me? Manta speak!'
"Manta, you have to tell me now, please, it's important if it's serious!" Yoh pleaded kneeling so he could be at eye level with Manta and giving him a light shake to his shoulders. "Manta say something!"
"Yoh, what's gotten into you…" Manta said totally in awe of his friend's outburst.
'He looks almost desperate, as if something terribly bad would happen…but if he is at this level of worry and that blush, this could only mean…' Manta thought his puzzle pieces coming together.
"Oh, my, God, Yoh, you are not just in love with her, you are head over heels for her!" Manta concluded blushing.
Yoh's face grew completely red and he hid his face behind his hands. This was one discussion he was really hoping he would never have with his best friend - his love with Anna. Yet, as Amidamaru warned him, his love for Anna was showing and Manta would notice - his little friend was also smart enough to realize those things which didn't help Yoh's current situation.
"Could you please just tell me what's wrong with Anna? Please?" Yoh begged behind his fingers.
"Yes, sorry Yoh, didn't mean to embarrass you, I just wanted to somehow make the news sound better, but there's no way this won't hurt you and I'm sorry, but you have to know…" Manta said lowering his head sadly and putting a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Just tell me!"
"Anna is cheating on you."
"W-w-WHAT?!" Yoh stammered and Manta felt him stiffen under his hand - Anna cheating on him was just an incomprehensible notion to the boy.
"I saw her yesterday on a train with a poche looking guy. He had an orange hoodie that hid his face and sunglasses and these super expensive brand sneakers! He looked trouble like bad trouble, only trouble seeker people wear sunglasses indoors and have this type of shoes!"
"Orange hoodie…brand sneakers…" Yoh repeated putting the pieces together.
"And you might say they just happened to be sitting one next to another, but Yoh, I saw it and I am sorry to say, but they were holding hands!" Manta told him scandalized by Anna's audacity to cheat on Yoh.
"Holding hands, but that's impossible because yesterday Anna was…" Yoh suddenly realized and his body relaxed, yet he felt overwhelmed by a different reaction.
"It is possible, and they were definitely way too close to one another! Yes, yesterday she was away because she was with this guy while you were training and Yoh I'm sure it was Anna, I spoke with her and she looked rather dressed up as if she and this guy were going on a date or something…"
"A date…" Yoh bit his lip.
"Yes! Are you OK, Yoh? How are you feeling?" Manta asked moving his hand away from his shoulder waiting for his friend's reaction.
Yoh's eyes teared up and Manta saw his body starting to shake.
"Oh, Yoh, I am so sor…"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Yoh burst out laughing and fell on his back because of the weights, but he continued laughing with tears, rolling on the ground, his hands around his tummy.
"Oh, not, it's worse than I thought! His newest reaction to trauma is to laugh instead of smile! Amidamaru, where are you, I think I broke him!" Manta shouted panicked.
The spirit appeared having a hard time to keep up a poker face. He heard the entire discussion and knew very well why Yoh reacted like that as well as who the 'bad guy' Anna hung up with yesterday was.
"Manta I'm afraid Yoh just doesn't believe you or finds it too incredible to believe…" Amidamaru made up an excuse while Yoh finally dragged himself up.
"Yeah, like Amidamaru said, Manta, it's probably some kind of weird coincidence, I am sure Anna can't be cheating on me…" '…with me.' Yoh thought the last part grinning.
"You don't believe me?" Manta sounded disappointed.
"Of course I do, but she probably just made a friend or something and that's great!" Yoh beamed getting up to resume his training and Manta followed him on his bike.
He felt bad lying to his friend, but he just couldn't tell Manta about him and Anna yet.
"But they were holding hands!"
"Maybe Anna wanted to grab his hand to shove him away or she wanted to grab something and accidentally touched his hand. Did she seem to know him?"
"She said it's a local guide tour…"
"Then maybe he was just helping her around and he made the mistake to try to make a move on her..."
"I can't believe how understanding you can be…"
"Manta, Anna can handle herself and I also trust her." Yoh said seriously, his smile disappearing for a split second before it was back up.
Manta, unfortunately, missed that small change as he was too deep in thought.
"I know you do! But I don't! I'll go confront her!" Manta decided to let anger get the best of him like it always did when it came to anything involving Anna.
"Wait Manta, don't! You'll get killed! And I need to train!" Yoh tried to convince him, but Manta started to pedal faster.
"You don't have to come or better if you come to stay outside and listen, I am sure she won't hide it, she can be rather blunt at times and I won't leave until I get the truth out of her!" Manta said with confidence.
"But Manta…"
"Yoh, you have to understand, I am doing this for you! You're obviously too smitten by her to notice these things and I am afraid your brain just denies any negative information, so I have to take matters into my own hands because I am your friend and someone has to stand up for you! Does your family even know how she's treating you at times?"
"Even if they know, they'd probably not care or even worse probably trained her to treat me this way …" Yoh said in a low voice, lost for a few seconds in thought.
"What did you say? I didn't catch that!" Manta shouted way ahead of Yoh who was running behind him.
"Anna is going to kill you! US!" Yoh tried to reason but Manta seemed determined in his resolve to confront Anna.
Amidamaru frowned. He did hear what Yoh-dono said.
Anna put on her usual black dress and was brushing her hair when she noticed a stain on it. She sighed in annoyance and just decided to do laundry herself because waiting for Yoh would take too long and she wanted her dress back - thank God they had a drier!
Anna changed back in her sleeping yukata and went to sort out the clothes to wash - she might as well do some laundry. The house was quiet and she realized most ghosts must have got away as per usual.
'Perfect, what an opportunity to work on my powers.' The girls smirked and went back to her room to get something else to dress on.
She decided to be 'nice' and check if Yoh didn't have anything to wash in that mountain of clothes he usually had in one of the corners of his room too.
She inspected the pile from distance, yet nothing seemed to smell. And she didn't want to dig in. However, before she went to her room to change, she spotted his hoody from yesterday. A sudden thought crossed her mind as she approached his piece of clothing. She picked it. It didn't look sweaty or smelly.
No one was in the house. Her dress would take a while in the drier and she didn't want to go around in her sleeping yukata. She did have other alternatives to change in, yet she just couldn't shake her new thought.
'Well, it's not like he will find out…' She thought smiling, looking mischievously at Yoh's hoodie.
"Anna! Helloooo, it's Manta, do you have a minute?" Manta shouted from the entrance where he told Yoh to wait hidden and listen to his discussion with the girl.
Yoh didn't like Manta's plan and was afraid his friend will get a serious deadly beating if he didn't stick around. At least he could run away with his little friend's unconscious body before Anna delivered any final blows. And he couldn't warn her either because he knew she would get angry because he stopped training or because of Manta. Either way, he didn't have much choice.
"Ann…" Yoh heard Manta abruptly stop followed by a pitchy scream and a loud slap and crush.
He dashed indoors and his eyes widen while his face turned red, mouth large open.
Anna had been practising her powers before she gave up and turned them off because of her increasing headache. She liked to believe she made some very small progress with her training although she cursed her inability to improve more. It did help there weren't any minds to read around.
Exhausted she fell asleep in the living room, until she woke up upon hearing someone's voice. She recognized that annoying voice and stood up sleepily yet annoyed to give that voice a piece of her mind for bothering her and there was no Yoh around to stop her this time.
When she saw Manta in the hall, she gave him her signature murderous look she kept especially for him before she prepared to admonish him in her best snarling voice. However, she stopped because she noticed the boy seem to have a rather odd reaction to her - eyes wide, mouth open, cheeks red and his hand was pointing at her. She rubbed her eyes sleepily. That didn't look like fear, but more like embarrassment and was that acknowledgement in his eyes?
And then it hit Anna. She looked mortified at herself. She was only wearing Yoh's hoodie which was just a bit larger for her, but enough to cover her underwear. She didn't even have her bandana on because she didn't feel it matched with her new temporary outfit. She felt so comfortable just in it and her bare feet. But now, she felt far from that…
Her face got even redder than Manta's and she screamed before she hit the boy with her legendary left, sending him flying into the nearby table and vase. Everything crushed loudly.
Anna stayed in place unsure whether to run and change or finish Manta off first. There's only one way to get that image of herself from his mind and that's torturing him before killing him so he will only be able to remember pain, pain and pain.
However, before she had a chance to put the latter into practice, she was surprised to see Yoh rushing in. The boy stopped just a meter in front of her and his reaction was similar to Manta's, except he actually managed to say something.
"That hoodie…that's…"
"THAT'S THE HOODIE THE GUY SHE'S CHEATING ON YOU WITH WAS WEARING! He's probably still around, it's worse than I thought …" Manta shouted emerging from the vase and table remains, lower lip bleeding, but his voice got stuck in his throat both because of the incredibly mortifying scenario in his head as well as from the fury emanating from Anna.
The dark aura around her just seemed to grow engulfing the room and in that moment Manta realized that was it for him. The girl just roared and jumped in his direction. The boy screamed and everything went dark as he felt a painful hit.
Fortunately for Manta, that was all he got together with a kick that sent him flying all the way to the other side of the hall in the wall. And that was because Yoh lounged for Anna and bravely put his arms around her torso, dragging her away from his friend.
"YOH, let me murder him."
"No, Anna, he didn't mean anything, he's just confused."
"He accused me of cheating!" Anna roared in his arms turning around to look into his eyes with her burning ones.
Yoh felt small under her piercing furious gaze and her aura was rather suffocating, sending shivers down his spine. He was also still wearing his weights, everything was so much harder to do!
"He accused you of cheating me with me! He was just trying to be a good friend, come on! Calm down! Whatever you're doing, I swear I feel the ground shaking, stop it before you summon an oni!" Yoh tried to reason.
"That would be great, he can eat Manta!" She snapped and they heard a window in the living room explode.
"No, no, cause then it will come for us, for me and you don't want that!"
"UH!" Anna growled frustrated at the thought and tried to shut her now raging powers.
It felt overwhelming especially since she was still rather angry at Manta, but she was more powerful than them, she won't let them take control and come for Yoh again. Or her. Her knees became weak from the effort and she found herself falling, yet she felt her fiancée's stronghold on her as they both sank down slowly.
"You can do it Anna!" He encouraged though his eyes were shut and he was holding on to her for dear life.
With one final effort, she just took control and shut everything off, sending a wave of power through the house. A few thuds were heard from objects moving or falling from the ripple. She let herself go limp in Yoh's arms and he felt his hand gently stroking her back.
"That was…wow…"
"I think I almost killed us all…thanks to Manta…" She growled trying not to get irked by Yoh's awe and admiration towards her power.
"No, don't think of Manta, think of me, Manta makes you lose control!"
"I am thinking of you idiot! You should be scared or annoyed, not looking at me like some kind of amazing being!" Anna said scandalized crossing her arms and trying to move away from him without actually putting in any effort.
"But you are amazing, you have great power and you just managed to control it, it's fantastic!"
"It's not! I barely controlled it! I could have killed us!" Anna growled slightly hitting him with her fists in annoyance, her body trembling. "Why can't you get it?!"
"Anna, I trust you. I know you're powerful enough to keep a hold of your powers, you just need a reminder from time to time." Yoh smiled softly at her stroking her hair soothingly.
"You're an idiot, Yoh." 'My sweet idiot.' Anna scolded, yet a weak smile appeared on her face upon thinking of the last part - she didn't have any power left to put up an argument with Yoh, she didn't want either. "Thanks." She added blushing looking sideways.
"Anytime." The boy beamed before a blush appeared on his face.
"Can you take me to our room? I think I still need to lay down a bit…And you should clean the house before Manta wakes up."
"I will and I'll deal with Manta, you rest."
"I hope you are aware I expect an apology from him if he wants to ever step on the estate grounds too or within a meter from my breathing space. School included." Anna crossed her arms watching Yoh carry her upstairs.
"I'll clear things with him." Yoh sighed trying to come up with something to tell his friend.
"And train, Yoh, train, you're slacking so much today you'll need all day to make up for."
"Yes, Anna, I'll train all day to make up." Yoh sweat dropped.
He put her down and she laid on her futon. She closed her eyes trying to ignore the growing headache and any passing negative thoughts about Manta. The audacity of accusing her of cheating…
'Yoh, I should think of Yoh. His Yoh's friend and wanted only the best for him. He didn't know I was with Yoh. Speaking of Yoh…'
Anna could still feel Yoh's presence so she stopped her train of thoughts. She opened one eye to look at him standing in front of her, grinning widely.
"What is it Yoh?" She asked rubbing her forehead.
"You're so kawaii, Anna, I just wanted to stay a bit more with you."
"I'm cute because I almost killed you and your friend and put you train all day and clean the house?" The girl asked incredulously eyes narrowing in his direction.
"No, you're cute because for whatever reason you're wearing my hoodie and it looks so cute on you, Anna! I really like it!" Yoh admitted shyly, face red, yet he was smiling with a genuine love and adoration in his eyes - he never knew he needed to see his fiancée in his clothes until it happened.
Anna realized she was still in the hoodie and gave out a pitchy scream before she hid under the blankets.
"You pervert!" She complained looking murderously from under her blanket at the smiling blushing boy, his joy unaffected the sightless by her reaction.
"I didn't see anything, I swear!" Yoh promised. "I genuinely think it looks incredibly cute on you. You should try my clothes more often!"
"I don't believe you." The girl pouted crossing her arms, face only visible from under the blanket - however, she knew just by looking at him that his words were genuine and he really adored her new look. That only made her blush more, warmth spreading throughout her body and as the words sank in, she had a hard time suppressing a grateful smile. Is it possible to love someone even more than you already do?
"Why are you even wearing my hoodie?" The boy asked curiously lowering his head to be at eye level with her.
"My dress is in the drier."
"And my hoodie was the only available option?"
"Yes Yoh! Did you want me to walk naked through the house in front of all the ghosts?"
"No!" The boy said mortified hiding his face in his palms.
"Then you had your answer." Anna smirked before she mumbled for herself not expecting Yoh to hear it. "It's also nice and comfy and smells like you and you should have been training…"
"IT DOES?"
"GO AWAY!" Anna shouted hiding completely under the covers.
Yoh would have laughed if he wouldn't have felt so embarrassed by the whole situation. And so rather confused on how to react. He decided smiling was the best choice considering the wave of wonderful feelings that flooded him as he finally understood why Anna was really wearing his hoodie. He never thought he could love someone this much with every moment spent with them.
He gave a gentle pat on the girl's head visible under the covers.
"I love you." He whispered.
"Love you too." Yoh heard a small voice respond just as he was about to move away.
The boy left the room smiling widely, so in love with his cute fiancée hiding under the covers.
Replying to guest post AmarantaB since I couldn't reply any other way - It's great to see a new fan to my story! I hope the rest of the story won't disappoint, I saw you're only at chapter 10. Yes, I've been meaning to give more depth to her character because I feel she's a great character with great unused potential. Thank you for you sweet comment, hope the story won't disappoint going forward!
