They both fell back into their routine of sending letters and answering them back within their time frames. Their routine went on for a little over a month when suddenly all communication had stopped on Callie's end. Arizona had no clue why, everything seemed to be going really well between them. Over the next month Arizona tried writing her three different letters and didn't receive a response to either of them. She even tried video calling Callie and it was just denied or no answer. It was now a little over a year since she last received a letter from Callie. She figured it was just time to try to let her go. Of course Callie had found someone else and moved on, I mean she was gorgeous and she deserved to be happy. So Arizona just decided to give up. They were coming up on some more leave time and having went the last time back home, Arizona and Tim had decided it would be his turn to go home. Both being trauma surgeons one of them had to be there at all times so it made vacationing or going home together very difficult. But being heartbroken by Callie, Arizona decided to stay and focus on work. It would be good for their mom anyway to get to see Tim this time.

It was Tim's second day of vacation out of five when they seen the news. There was an explosion on an American base but they weren't releasing any other information. But from the pictures and videos of it happening Tim knew, he knew where it was. He could never forget that place even if he wanted too. Unfortunately his sister was still there. He didn't want to say anything worry their mom. She was his little sister she had to be okay. He got up out the living room and went outside to make some phone calls. Surely someone would have to know something.

His mom watched him walk out the room, she knew this has to be hard for her son to watch. This could have been him after all. She came him space and after a while went outside to check on him when she over heard the ending of his conversation.

"No! No! I want her transferred here now!...No! I don't care!...Miami...have her sent her to Miami...that's an order just do it!"

"Have who sent here Timmy?" Tim snapped around looking at his mom like a deer caught in headlights "Tim what's wrong?"

"Look Ma why don't you sit down?"

"I don't want to sit down. Now you tell me this instant what is going on!" She said crossing her arms and giving a face that business.

"The news Mom, that's our base...that got exploded" She gasped covering her mouth slowly sitting down

"Is Arizona...?" She asks looking up with watery eyes

"She's alive" he lets out in a sigh relief "but...but..i don't know Ma" he says starting to pace back n forth "i'm having her flown here to be at our hospital. I don't...I don't know much else"

"Oh Tim! She's alive it'll be okay" She says pulling him in for hug, hugging him tight

A couple weeks later

Arizona wakes up groggy, her eyes are blurry all she can see is a couple and some shapes. It's taking a long time for her to adjust. She tries to swallow and it causes a pain to shoot through her. Her throat is dry and hurting. She clutches her chest from the pain of trying to swallow when she feels a hand patting her hand

"Hey hey just take it slowly" she can hear the voice saying. It sounds familiar but she can't quite place it. She feels a something poking her lips

"Take small sips...it's okay" She tries to do what the voice is saying. The water hurts going her throat causing her cough

"Hey hey it's okay just take your time" The voice soothes her

"Cal-Calli-Calliope?" Arizona's voice cracks out

"Ssshhh just get some rest" She hears the voice say and she can feel the fingers run through her hair as her eyes drift back close.
