I'm so sorry this update took so long. First it was lack of creativity and then I had a bad stomach virus so I was out for a bit. I will try my best not to have so long of a wait for the next chapter. Just a reminder I don't know anything about the Marines or military. Thanks for still reading and reviewing!
When Arizona was fully awake she was so confused. She woke up and seen her brother and mom sitting in the chairs on each a side of her.
"What-what happened?" Arizona crooked out
"Sshhh darling" Her mom said as she grabbed her hand and rubbed it "it's okay here take a sip of water" she said holding a glass to Arizona. She turned her head towards Tim "Timmy go get a doctor" and with that Tim ran out of the room
Next thing Arizona knew a strange good looking doctor walked in. Sure he was a dude but he was pretty good looking dude for a guy. He obviously had a thing for his hair because you could tell he took good care of it and his eyes were so blue it kind of reminded her of hers and Tim's.
"Lieutenant Robbins nice to see your awake" The strangedoctor said flashing her a sparkling smile
"Wher-where am I?"
"Ahhh you're in Miami, welcome. My names Dr. Shepard. What's the last thing you remember?"
"There was an loud noise like a bomb maybe...i don't ...i don't know...then i don't know"
"Well you are correct you were involved inan explosion and when Commander Robbins here found out he had you shipped out here to the best" He said giving Tim a pat on the back
"Um okay so what's wrong with me?"
"Well originally you had a very bad concussion and some swelling in the brain. I was able to successfully relieve alot of the pressure and the swelling seems to have gone down almost completely. I'm just the neurosurgeon on your case so I'm not too sure on the other details. But I can tell you, you had a shrapnel lodged in your side that they were able to remove and you have a broken leg. Any other details on those you need to speak with the other surgeons on your case which they should be in shortly. So get some rest Lieutenant Robbins i'll be back later to do some test"
"Call me Arizona"
"Sure okay Arizona get some rest"
"Waitttt that's no fair!" Tim jumps in catching the doctors attention before he leaves the room "how come it works when she says to use her first name but you keep calling me Commander Robbins" and the other people in the room besides Tim start chuckling
"Ahhh you see Commander Robbins what the patient wants the patient gets and your not my patient and it's a respectful thing to do" Derek says before winking out the room at the woman and leaving. Which leaves Tim standing there staring at Arizona and she sticks her tongue out at him causing him to shake his head and sit down.
A little while later
When Tim and Arizona are finally alone she decides to ask him. "Hey Tim"
"Whats up?"
"I needa ask you something but don't be an ass about it please"
"Now you know that only makes me want to be more of an ass" he says joking with her
"Come onnn Tim it's important"
"Sure what's got your panties in a wad?"
"Did a Calliope come to see me?"
"Uh no just some doctors have been in and out of here besides me and mom"
"You sure none of them were name Calliope?"
"Yea I think so. That's a pretty odd name i would have remembered that"
"Oh okay" Arizona said looking a little defeated
"Why?"
"Nothing I guess it was just a dream but I don't know"
"I mean you were pretty banged up there sis. it's probably normal to have some weird dreams"
"Yea I guess you're right" Arizona sighed out looking off in the distance
The last year of Callie's life had been interesting and busy to say the least. She was finally just starting to get into a routine of her new life when she got the page from the hospital that a vip patient was on the way and she was needed. She had just been promoted to an attending in ortho. She was good at job, the best and everyone knew but now she had the title to go along with it.
They didn't brief them on too much information, just that the patient was somebody in the Marines and their family wanted the best. Hearing that it was somebody in the Marine's Callie couldn't help but think of Arizona. She missed the blonde there was no denying that but her life became complicated now. She needed time to think and when Arizona would come back to the states they would talk. That's what Callie decided or what she just kept telling herself.
She didn't watch the news, she didn't have time. She didn't know what was going in the world or the bombing or anything really for that matter. When she walked into the patient room the person laying there looked like a mess to say the least. She noticed the blonde locks of hair, they looked like Arizona's but Callie chose not to look at the person's face anymore. She just hoped, she prayed that she was wrong and that this wasn't Arizona. Whoever it was and especially if it was Arizona they needed her best. She needed to concentrate and not focus on who it was on the table.
