Chapter 35

Year 4 Month 6 Day 4

One year has passed since the empire invaded, and the war effort has changed little. But the spirit of war has yet to leave any of the people.

Karel celebrated the first birthday of his daughter, and his own. He enjoyed sharing the day with his daughter, who was now able to lift small objects with the force. She was touched by the force and would one day become a Jedi.

"We've got a long way before she gets a lightsaber." Bora said. She showed her daughter off to her students. It seemed that she had become popular to the next Generation of huntresses as she has been able to teach many of them whenever they're not called away to war. But her four first students, team DYMD, or team Diamond, started training in the Mandalorian tongue. Karel knew she was trying to train them to become Mandalorians.

Karel knew this reprise wouldn't last long. They would be off to war again soon. The galactic empire has been on remnant for a year, and with so many grey Jedi falling to the Dark side, and joining both empires, the Jedi are in more desperate need for members. Grandmaster Diamond's student has taken many of the younger Jedi, including Rouge, to teach them on Makashi. The Grey Jedi order has lost over one hundred jedi to the dark side, and many of those who remain have joined the Jedi, bolstering all force user orders.

It weighed down on Karel's mind that Salem probably had something to do with it, but this war also has put all Jedi through troubling tests.

Rouge arrived with Yang and Ruby. Now the three hunter teams were complete.

Salem sat in her throne room hearing those ancient followers of Bogan. They haunted her for the thousands of years she had been here. She heard them all mocking her. She heard the Sith Lords mock her, but she had been able to learn from all of them.

"You can't even kill a simple Jedi knight." A voice called to her.

"We are all banished to stay in here, until the seal is broken. But what do you care? You are already damned." Salem said.

The voices all surrounded her, as she sat in front of the relic. Its power was undeniable. The spear of creation. She had one option of braking out of her prison, getting her followers to get the rest of the relics. She knew that Raven Branwen was the fall maiden, but she was lost. Salem couldn't locate her through the dark side of the force. Despite her best attempts in broadening her power by bringing darkness to Remnant, she was still stuck in this damn prison. She slammed her fist against her throne.

She knew she was going to need to do something more drastic. But what? She was still missing the crown, lamp, and sword. She felt the followers of Ashla take the sword, making it no longer available to her, and Ozpin had control of the crown. She needed that lamp, but her enforcers had yet been able to outsmart these pathetic Jedi!

Her only good news was that the Grey Jedi order has gone into a great Schism. With half of its members joining one side or the other. But that still left half the order who has been a thorn in her side since she started the purge.

She sighed. She was a patient woman. But she wondered if she would still be able to threaten the imperial family. They had all grown in their strength.

She raised an image of Remnant in front of her and saw the battle fronts.

"Jedi…" She saw one battle headed by a Jedi. She decided she would launch an attack there, and with the wave of her hand, she sent her forces.

She looked out at the world. A world which turned her back on her. A world that she hates so much, but by cruel fate, has been forced to stay on. Now even that would be a kinder fate than to be forced to stay here forever.

Month 8 Day 10

Pyrrha woke up from another nightmare. She had nightmares almost every day recently. She was haunted by the image of the Siren Palace. Jaune was still asleep next to her. She put her hand on her husband, the two of them having recently wed. She got up and went to the window of their home. She was offered a teacher position at Beacon since they graduated, and she took it. Now she was raising the next Generation of hunters and huntresses.

She knew she had to go back to bed. But she felt the words of the fall maiden in her head. Amber was still with her, though she was growing weaker. She knew she had to go on. She had to go back to the palace and find out what was haunting her. She quickly got dresses and took both her weapons.

She didn't notice Jaune wake up and get ready until she opened the door.

"Wait up." He said. She looked back to her husband, the man who changed so much in all the years that they knew each other. She wondered how Bora and Nora were able to so easily not wake up their husbands when they met up.

"Where are we going?" Jaune asked.

"I've been having nightmares. I'm going to the Siren Palace."

Jaune stopped for a moment.

"We're going back there?"

"I just have a feeling." She said. She needed to just go there. Maybe that would end these nightmares I've been having." She said. She had told Jaune about the nightmares. She heard the voices of all who died in those walls. The evil practices that happened within those walls disgust her. She walked with Jaune going to the palace's secret location, revealed to them years ago. It was weird to even think about going back there. She knew exactly what happened in there so long ago. Thousands were sacrificed here just for little balls of Magic. If the Jedi weren't there to stop the Sirens, then there may not be anything to save. But she knew that the maidens helped them. She even saw some flashes of that horrible siege.

Jaune had learned everything that went on in the palace with Pyrrha. He wasn't fully ready to return, but he had to. It wasn't far from where they lived. He would stay with Pyrrha through anything.

They took some time, but they finally got to the hidden palace entrance. Pyrrha stood firm, but nothing happened.

"Hey, Pyrrha, what's supposed to happen?" Jaune asked.

"I think that a door is supposed to open. But that's not happening… Hey, Amber, what's going on?" She asked out loud.

She didn't hear anything.

"Amber…"

Her voice was weak, but she finally heard something.

"You have to come alone." She said. Pyrrha looked back at Jaune and frowned.

"Why does he have to leave?" She said. Jaune took a step back, but knew it was better to wait.

"When you enter this palace again, you must be alone. Only the maiden is welcome. You've taken things from the palace, so the spirits are angry, but they can't hurt you." Amber said.

Jaune stepped away, starting to go back, but waiting far enough away that he could still see Pyrrha.

"He's gone. Why is it still not opening?" She asked.

"You are not alone, and I don't mean your husband." Amber said. It took a second for Pyrrha to get it, then her hands shot for her stomach.

"That's right. You are carrying a child." Amber said.

"But we used protection." She said. Normally her face would have went red saying that out loud, but now, she didn't care.

"It didn't work. It happens, but until that child is brought into this world, you cannot enter the palace. And if you do, your child will die. Use these months to prepare. I can feel the call of my other half, but she is held in a dark place. Once you return, my other half will cry out. You will have to face the woman who stole half my power." Amber's voice became quieter.

"Wait, Amber! What about the nightmares?" She cried out.

"They should fade for some time, but they will return. Be ready. My soul will be reunited." Her voice was a whisper at the end.

She didn't know what to say.

When she walked up to Jaune, she was shaking. She was shaking, thinking about what she was going to do.

"Pyrrha, what's wrong?" Jaune asked.

"I can't go in… I need to be… alone…" She said, hands holding her stomach.

"I need to leave." Jaune said.

"No, I won't be able to go in there for a while. Jaune… I'm pregnant."

Jaune didn't believe it at first, but then he remembered that just because they were using protection, that something could have gotten out. He wondered how often this happened with his parents.

"This is wonderful news. We're going to have to tell everyone." Jaune said.

"Later, but first how about just your parents? Then Bora." She said blushing.

Month 8 Day 15

Bora was the best help that Pyrrha could have gotten. She was so scared, but Bora helped her at every turn. She was glad she had someone who had gone through a similar thing. Nora was happy for her, then she told Ren not to expect any kids for at least another year.

Pyrrha knew she was no longer able to fight in the war, and her teaching assignment at Beacon was lessened. She was no longer the combat professor, but instead, she took over the job of Professor Peach, as she had decided to step down. She was excellent in her topics, semblances, and biology.

She was a good teacher and helped many of the new hunters and huntresses coming up. Some of them were force sensitive and they all joined the Jedi as padawans. It seemed that with the influx of new members they started to recover. She talked with Karel whenever he was back from the war.

But she hated having to sit on the sidelines. Her mother-in-law came over a lot to help her. And she brought their youngest daughter, Jaune's ten-year-old sister. She was named Jade, a fact that Jaune liked reminding Karel.

But she felt she was left behind. She was for the first time so many years that she was just a citizen. Was this how Bora felt?

Month 9 Day 2

Nothing changed much. Jaune was with her for as long as possible, but he was needed in the war. He went of with Karel most of the time. She was one of the legendary swordsmen too. Ruby came by with Oscar. It was good to see them.

"We brought you some things." Ruby said.

"We're always here if you need us." Oscar said.

She thanked them, but she couldn't help but fell that she was disappointing so many people.

Saphron and her wife even were able to visit. She saw so many people come to her.

"If you miss seeing people, go out there and visit them dammit!" Bora said, holding Jade in her arms. Aqua, Jaune's second youngest sister was able to visit as Bora was with her.

"But…" She started. Bora handed Jade to Pyrrha. She freaked out for a second, but then calmed down.

"Listen to me, you're pregnant, not dying. Who the hell told you that you can't go places?" She said. Pyrrha looked down at Jade and started to laugh. For all her brains, she seemed to forget that she was anything but delicate.

"Now you see what I'm talking about." She looked at Aqua, and quickly pulled out twenty lien, handing it to her.

"Don't tell your parents that I was swearing."

"I heard nothing." She said whilst putting the bill in her pocket. Pyrrha shook her head.

Month 10 Day 21

Pyrrha left the doctors with a smile on her face. She got a general date for delivery. She wondered for so long what the date was since she learned she was pregnant from a spirit. But after finding out she spent a day with Rose and Fyre, Jaune's sisters. Rose was Jaune's twin, and Fyre was right after them. She was very slightly force sensitive, but not enough that the Jedi could accept her.

She was getting excited to when she could see her baby. She hoped for a boy, her and Jaune were raised without brothers. Though she went through some crazy cravings, which Jaune kindly kept up with.

Cinder looked at the woman who had the other half of the Maiden spirit. The half of Amber that she had in her told her that information, but she couldn't so anything. Salem was clear that this is merely a recon mission. She fears that if she were to die, that half of the spirit would move to a new host. A fear that Cinder agreed was probably justified.

Cinder once thought of having children, but that choice was taken from her after she was killed by Uriel. But she forgave him for killing her, as she repaid him the favor. But what annoyed her was that even though she held all the power she did, she was still held back. That pissed her off so much that she would have to take her anger out on something, or someone. She had to pick her targets carefully. She would probably go after one of the fallen grey Jedi. They were easy targets, and ones that she was more than suitable to take down.

Her mind drifted back to the lost ability to have a child. At one point she was ready to settle down with Uriel, but after finding that cultist woman, that fate was gone. She tried to reach out to him, but he was too stubborn. If only he had listened to her, they could have had a family. But she still had a love for him. Though most would call it something else, but what do they know? Nothing!

Year 5 Month 1 Day 13

Pyrrha had to turn off the screen, all the news was about how the war had lasted five years. Jaune was with her, making the two of them lunch. He was a great cook.

"Of course, it last this long, we changed the rules so many times, we may as well consider it about four wars." Jaune said.

"Thank you for cooking." Pyrrha said. She was tired more these days. She had a bad case of morning sickness earlier in the day. She learned about a month ago that she was having a boy like she hoped.

"You're welcome." Jaune went through the reports that he got. He sighed and put his scroll down.

"The Alliance lost more land. Vacuo this time. The G.I took a large swath of uninhabited desert, and started to make it livable with their tech." He said.

"But we did the same thing in Menagerie. Blake and Ilia are doing wonders there. But that strange attack recently…" Pyrrha, along with many others, wondered about the attack by the black fang at a seemingly unimportant spot on the island. It was at the Nixen Canyon. Vuren and her padawan went there along with some of the red fang members. They fought off a small army of black fang.

The battle was deadly, but Vuren was able to make it out of the battle with minimal casualties.

Pyrrha looked through the news again and saw another call by politicians and doctors to boost the population. She shook her head, but she did unknowingly follow their advice.

"They're getting desperate." Jaune said. The total amount of people lost in the war finally hit the highest of all wars on Remnant. Millions were dead. And nothing was changing. The war had become a standstill that her generation was fighting. She hoped that the war would end soon.

Cinder knew that her day would soon come. She had a will that the other half didn't have. She was ready to stop fighting, to choose pathetic peace.

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion." She said to herself. These words were seared on her mind by her master Salem. She was by herself watching the other. She still was unable to do anything. Only when she had that child would she be able to take her revenge.

She got up and teleported to a battlefront, or what was left of one. The Remnant imperials just finished taking out the Alliance, pushing them back again. The balance couldn't be swayed one way or the other. She took out her bow and fired it three times. In an instant, three imperials fell down dead. She jumped over the ruined building she was in and took her lightsaber out. When she landed on a tree above them, then gathered the dark side into her Grimm arm. She held it out and a giant ball of dark energy shot at the ground. Anyone who was hit by it was gone in an instant.

She jumped down and looked at the surviving imperial and rushed forward. She quickly killed the troops. They were only fifty troops. Nothing special. But it allowed her to get some things off her chest.

But not enough. She still felt the hatred gathering in her. She was the apprentice to the most powerful dark side user in history. She was better than all these pathetic life forms, yet she had to wait for another pathetic life to enter this world before she could have her revenge. She clenched her fist and felt nothing. She was dead after all. She opened the dark portal behind her and entered Salem's dark dimension.

She was hungry for blood.

Month 3 Day 21

Pyrrha finally started to get the pregnant mom look down. She hated it. Not the child, but that now everyone started to congratulate her. She didn't exactly ask to become pregnant, but… there were some advantages. No one looked twice when the world class champion ate sweets out in the open. Her and Bora spent more time together, especially since she finally stepped down as second in command and started teaching. With the war starting to slow down again, and the recent discovery of many habitable planets in far off solar systems, some suggested that the war would go cold and turn into a race to create a new galactic coalition. Though those were only rumors.

"You got the name set right?" Bora asked. Jade was with her grandmother today.

"Yes, we do. But you still have never answered my question." She said.

"Look, one of us had to step down. It was getting to be too much. And even now, I'm not convinced he's going to last much longer. Pixi may become the commander sooner than she thinks." Bora said. It was more than anyone else had ever got out of her.

"But you took a job at Beacon right after. The two of you are set for more than a lifetime." She said while eating her cheesecake. Some at the café seemed a bit more interested in the fact that two legendary fighters were there than in their own food.

"Don't forget, I'm a Mandalorian." She closed in and whispered, "And I get to create a clan from the crème de le crème." She smiled at Pyrrha as she finally got it.

"Does Karel know?" She asked.

"Of course, he does. He's the one who got me to do it. Though DYMD isn't close to skill I gave Rouge." She said. Her face turned to a frown.

"What is it?"

"I also stepped down to create my legacy. My tactics have won more than one battle, but that's not enough. I've got to make the Lone name an honorable one. Where I'm from, our clan spent so long fixing the ruined reputation. One of my ancestors… ruined our name." Bora let out a sigh. She took a sip of her tea.

"But no one from here knows your people." Pyrrha said.

"Not exactly. With those reinforcements that the Galactic imps sent, they brought a clan of Mandalorians. Most of them actually immediately defected to the other two options you got, but they don't exactly like me." She said. "Sorry, I've brought the mood down."

"It's fine. I like hearing about where you're from."

"I've got fewer memories the older I get. But I remember coming here. Making friends…" Pyrrha remembered what happened about two years ago. Near the time the red fang was attacked.

It wasn't going to be that long before Pyrrha's child would be brought into the world. She hoped she could be a good example for him. Her hand reached for him.

"Hey, you think our kids are going to be friends?" Bora said. Pyrrha laughed.

"Maybe they'll date." She said. Bora laughed at the thought.

Month 5 Day 10

The day had finally come. Her water broke, and Jaune freaked out. Pyrrha would have laughed at any other time, but now she just wanted to go. Pyrrha was rushed at night to the hospital. Jaune was there with her for the entire procedure. It was painful to go through. Unlike Bora, she had no Jedi using the force to help her. She had to go through it without the force. Though she had to admit that she had quite a lot of drugs running through her system.

She couldn't remember much of what happened. It was all a blur to her when she heard push, she pushed. She made sure that this baby was going. Not that either had a choice. Soon, the top of his head was showing, not that she could see. She was in a lot of pain. It was one of the worst pains she had ever felt, but surprisingly, getting the half of the maiden power was worse. She was shocked but had to focus back on the baby.

Push

Breath

Push

Breath

Push

Cries were heard in the room, and a second later, the pain was over. She was a mother. She was handed her baby boy. The blood was cleared from him as he was handed over. He had a small tuft of red hair. She looked at him and noticed him breathing. He was in her hands. She couldn't hear the crying. She could only smile as she felt drained.

Karel smacked Jaune on the back.

"Look at that. Looks like we've started the pa squad." Karel said, a joke he stole from Tai, but Jaune didn't need to know that.

"Look at him." Was all that Jaune could say. His son was there, in the arms of his wife. "So, this is what this feels like."

"It is."

Pyrrha and Jaune agreed on his name a while ago. They went back and forth, but they finally concluded.

Silver Arc.

He and Jade were the start of the next generation.

Month 8 Day 10

A whole year passed since she was last at the Palace, but she started getting the dreams again. Jaune knew what he had to do and knew that he had to let her do this. He watched over their three-month-old.

She walked to the Palace grounds alone, fully recovered. It was time that she faced the other half. The doors opened. She walked into the palace, but this time it was different. The once closed pathways were open. The other half had to be here. She carried Sol into the palace with her. She heard the voices of the spirits yelling at her, but she didn't care about them. This fight was all she cared about.

The center of the palace was a large arena. She stepped into the room and went up the steps to challenge her other half.

Cinder waited there, looking at her other half. The half that stole her power. She noticed the room was half blinding light, half-darkness. She hated the duel nature of the palace. Salem saw it as a heresy, but she saw it for what it was, representation. She gripped her lightsaber as her other half held out her sword.

"You stole half the maiden power. I have come to take it back. I have come to get my revenge on a spoiled little brat who thinks she can have whatever she wants! Friends! Family! What did you sacrifice?! Anything!" Cinder said.

"I lost my parents long ago. I spent so long alone. No one would look past my abilities for me. I never wanted this power. I know who you are, dark spawn. This power can never be in your hands!"

"You think you can win? Don't make me laugh! I am SITH!" She pulled out her lightsaber, the red light glowing in the dark.

Pyrrha held her sword out and gathered in the darkness of the arena. All that was left was a blinding light, making Cinder flinch. She didn't see Pyrrha rush at her with blinding speed. She barely blocked the first attack with her lightsaber. Sol was powerful indeed.

The first hit was followed up with four more in the matter of a second. Her speed was something to behold. Cinder was impressed by her, but she was able to block every hit. She jumped back and sent out a black of force lightning. Pyrrha raised her hand, and a large stem came up, taking the hit. Four roots pushed up out of the ground and grabbed Cinder by her legs. She looked down seeing the ground coming closer to her than she liked. She put out a force shield, but she felt the hit. She raised her hand and a large wind brought down the tree.

She jumped up, backflipping, cutting the roots that shot up. Pyrrha slammed the arena floor and let out a small amount of the darkness. She tossed her shield, bouncing off the walls, then she used her semblance to make it fly at Cinder. Cinder side stepped the first hit, but when it bounced back and slammed into her, she felt the start of her rage form.

She held out her lightsaber and caught the shield, burning a whole in it. Pyrrha made a noise when it was destroyed, but she was not out of the fight. She was still a deadly enemy. Cinder wouldn't make that mistake.

She rushed forward sending a massive blast of air, causing Pyrrha create a wall of plants to avoid the hit. She saw Cinder jump over the wall and land behind Pyrrha. She turned around quickly and blocked a jab coming at her heart. The lightsaber short circuited after hitting the Cortosis blade. It was rare when this happened, but not unheard of. Cinder used the force to push Pyrrha off her feet and created her sword and blocked the next swing. Cinder had to make sure her lightsaber would work before she would even dare to bring out her other one.

The attacks were relentless, and Pyrrha made sure that Cinder was on the back foot. She couldn't and wouldn't give Cinder an inch. She was the worst option to have the maiden powers. She held out sol and fired orbs of darkness. Cinder was able to smack them aside and laughed.

"You won't succeed using darkness against a Sith!"

Pyrrha fired another orb of darkness, getting Cinder to forget about the dust grenade that was at her feet. Her overconfidence led her to send out her force lightning. Pyrrha held her sword out, feeling the lighting in her hands. She gritted her teeth as the fire dust exploded. Cinder got hit by it, but her force shield kept most of the damage away. But left a nasty burn on her leg. Pyrrha dropped to one knee and pulled out her rifle. She fired three shots. Cinder deflected the first two but got hit by the third. She reached out and flung the weapon out of Pyrrha's hands.

The magic started to run out, and her sword cracked. She didn't have enough energy to use it for long, but it was a backup. She pulled out her two lightsabers and turned them on. The red and black blades matched each other. She let out a scream that shook the ground and she rushed Pyrrha. She created a thin tree, which could do nothing against her.

Pyrrha stepped back and got in a defensive stance. She didn't have the force, but she had her skills. She would have to rely on them now. Cinder's eyes were ablaze with fury as she jumped down. Pyrrha blocked the first strike, but the unnatural strength of Cinder made her stumble. The second hit was blocked with her getting some of her strength back. She was on the back foot now, getting closer to the edge of the arena. She knew that soon she may end up falling, and if she did, she may as well die. She knew what the spirits would do if she lost. But she had no other choice.

The next strike was a wild one, which Pyrrha used against Cinder. She sidestepped and spun around. She had to break off her ruthless offensive to avoid getting a sword to her spine. She spun around and blocked the attack with both her lightsabers. Cinder gritted her teeth and pushed Pyrrha back and sent a force wave at her. It slammed into her, feeling like a truck slamming into her, but she wasn't done yet. She got back up; her exposed skin as red as her hair. She felt blood running down her arm, but she still had her aura. She could still fight.

Cinder raised her hands and the roof started to shake. Pyrrha used her semblance to find any metal and found a lot of it around her. She used her semblance to cover her as the boulders slammed down. After the roof of the arena was opened, she tossed the metal aside, and picked her sword back up. Darkness rushed into the arena, and Pyrrha absorbed more of it. She started to feel the darkness enter her. She felt it in her hands, and it started to crawl up, until her necklace started to glow. The darkness was gone in an instant. She felt the light surround her. She held out her sword, nearly dripping in darkness. There was a look in Cinder's eyes that would have shaken anyone else.

"You want to end this! Then lets end it!" She yelled. She and Pyrrha rushed forward, blades slamming into each other, the power of the weapons causing such a great furious battle. The air became heavy, and anyone else would have felt the great pressure of this great darkness and light and would have been crushed under it. A storm of light and dark, every hit a typhoon of energy. No noise could penetrate, no voice could be heard. Anything that wasn't this battle was nothing. This battle was all. All the spirits of the sirens and maidens rising, becoming an invisible crowd. Their chants rung deep in the souls of the two warriors, almost goddesses of war. War had never been this powerful, or this intense, the palace started to shake, most of the outer palace collapsed. But the warriors didn't care. Passion fought serenity. Jedi fought Sith.

The battle was locked in a blade lock. They didn't notice the destruction of Palace around them. They didn't notice the image of Amber in the air, looking at both. Nothing mattered beside the next move.

The power had become too much for both warriors. Sparks flew off the lightsabers and sword. They looked at their weapons and felt all at once the release of energy.

It sounded as if a bomb went off. Jaune knew immediately what it was. He got up and saw the smoke cloud out at the Palace grounds. He was sure everyone heard the collapse, including Silver. He started crying, and Jaune went to him. Fyre was over, and she agreed to watch Silver while Jaune rushed with many others to the Palace grounds.

Pyrrha opened her eyes. Amber was there.

"Did I win?" She asked, feeling most of her body was in pain. She didn't know she was on death's doorstep.

"No. Neither did she. She's already gone… It's time for me to leave. Some girl out there will be the new fall maiden." She said. Pyrrha closed her eyes again, not seeing people in white robes appear with Jaune.

She didn't notice that they were taken away through a portal. She didn't feel the healing waters touch her and fix her broken body.

When she did wake up, hours later, she saw Jaune standing over her, smiling.

"Hey, everything' going to be okay."

She got up, not even feeling sore, and looked around. It was a weird space that was covered in light. She looked down a set of stairs and saw a sword and crown floating. She turned her head again and saw the people in white robes.

"What's going on?" Pyrrha asked.

"We are the followers of Ashla, the light God. His power has entered your body, just like it once did the Sister. You have proven yourself worthy time and time again. You have proven yourself worthy to become the priestess of Ashla."

Author's notes: This is the biggest time skip so far. A whole year and a half in one chapter. G.I is the galactic empire. And now, we can start getting ready for the end of the story.

There aren't too many more chapters. We're almost done.

This chapter has been in the making for quite a while.

Thanks for reading if you do.
