Tales of the Hidden City Part 3

"Hidden City Zoo?"

"Ooh, luxury resort?"

"Battle Nexus?"

"Ooh, Witch Town!"

"Alright," Raph speaks up, getting their attention. "We've narrowed down our list to 200 activities. I don't wanna spend my whole day in the Hidden City voting, so I say we each do our own thing. Mellie, come with me, you're gonna love what I got planned!"

"No, us!" Mikey smiles as Splinter waves his hands. "Our thing is better!"

"Uh, as the boyfriend, I get her for the day," Leo wraps an arm around her as Donnie and April grab her hands.

"No way, she has more fun with us than you," Donnie glares at his brother and it honestly feels like Amy is a tug of rope between all of them. All of them glare at each other with a dominating growl to see which one she would hang out with all day.

"Okay, stop," She holds up a hand to get their attention. She puts down Chewbacon. Ann and Lily just had to be spending the day with their parents... "I'll just spend the day with each of you, that way it's fair."

All of them grumble, but they didn't have much of a choice...thank goodness she has her remote to call her motorcycle when ready.

"That's gonna be one heck of a day, Shakira," April raises a brow at her and Amy waves it off.

"You kidding me? I've handled a colicky baby and a preschool kid by myself before I was ten. I'll be fine. Okay, sooo.." She taps her chin, snapping her fingers. "I need some paper and a pen."

Mikey gives her both, since he has this on hand as being the artist. Amy whistles to Donnie and he turns around so that she can write on his shell. "Let's see, Raph is first with whatever he has planned..."

"Like a boss!" Raph flexes his muscles, Leo looking a bit disappointed. She knows that he wanted her to go with him first, but she'd rather do the important stuff first.

"And then followed by Donnie and April, so that we can do our science projects together..."

"Yes!" Donnie smiles as April pumps a fist.

"And then I have Mikey and Splinter."

"Yay, we're not last!" Mikey cheers nearby and she chuckles.

"And then I'll end the day with Papi!" She smiles a bit and Leo grins.

"Saved the best for last," He kisses her cheek lovingly.

"Maybe...Chewbacon can go with someone else? That way I'm not alone?" She raises a brow at him hopefully and he has a blank look on his face. And that's because he'll eventually get stuck with Leo. "I'll make you your favorite~"

He oinks happily and everyone seems to agree as they separate, saying their goodbyes. "Meet up with me later in your best bathing suit, zebra-boo!" Leo blows a kiss to his girlfriend.

"That nickname needs work, but I'll see you later, Papi," She winks at him with a wave.

Mikey and Splinter wait eagerly for Amy to arrive, since she's scheduled to be with them next. Mikey scopes the area with a big smile and then sees the top of Amy's head.

"Big sister!" He cheers as Splinter's eyes widen once she's standing in front of them. Amy's hair is still a hot mess, but she's changed back into the outfit she had on before.

"Oh, what happened to you?"

She takes a deep breath, hands on her hips. "Oh boy...please don't give me too much trouble," She dusts off her clothes. "I've been through enough..." And since Chewbacon isn't with them, that means he must've switched or gone off on his own...

"Well, children, it's just you two and me! Ready for the Lou Jitsu celebrity walking tour of the Hidden City?" He dances around and Amy sighs in relief.

"Oh, a tour...that can't be so bad, right?"

Though she really had her doubts.

"Oh boy, are the three of us!" Mikey smiles widely, hands on his hips.

"The three of you?" Splinter asks in confusion before finally noticing the bear near Mikey's feet. "Oh, you mean the bear." He pinches its cheek. "Isn't this the cutest wittle-"

"Hands off, rat," The bear actually speaks to him, narrowing his eyes. Amy yelps, covering her mouth in shock as she stumbles back a bit.

"Umm...Mikey, where did you get this bear?" Amy points at it nervously. "Because it sounds exactly like someone we know..."

"D-Draxum?!" Splinter stammers at the voice, getting into a defensive stance. "Stay away from my DNA!"

"Dad, don't use Axum-Dra's real name!" Mikey glances around anxiously, hoping anyone didn't overhear. "He's the most wanted man in the Hidden City!" He looks right at a wanted poster of Baron Draxum nearby, along with the posters of Assassin Freeze and Heinous Green. "That's why I got this cloaking brooch," Mikey points to the brooch on Draxum's tie. "No one will suspect this adorable toy. Isn't that right?"

He throws up Draxum in the air repeatedly.

"Ugh," Amy rips off the poster of Freeze, crumpling it up.

"He looks just like Raph!" Mikey points to the Green poster.

"Don't get me started," The brunette warns him.

"The same mad scientist who tried to wipe out the human race?" Splinter asks angrily, still a bit touchy on that. Not to mention, they were supposed to be competing for who is Amy's favorite out of the whole family with the other groups.

"I prefer warrior alchemist who tried to wipe out the human race," Draxum points out, Mikey throwing him into the air again.

"I mean, he did save a few humans at Albeartoland," Amy gestures to the bear. "And...well, while his actions did cause pain to my family, he's left flowers at their graves every week. It's only for today, Splinter."

He wraps his tail around the two teenagers, pulling them away. Draxum lands on the ground. "Why is he here?" Splinter whispers to them. "I thought this was going to be just a you, Amelia, and me thing. And Amelia, you dare to defend him? I protected you when you followed Draxum to his lair!"

"What?!" Amy gasps at him. "That was you?"

"Fine by me," Draxum gets onto his little bear feet. "I've got some meat to slop back at the lunchroom."

"No, stay!" Mikey calls out to him. "It'll be fun!"

"No!" Splinter hugs his waist to stop his son. "Let him go. It'll be funner."

"So, you want me to go?" Draxum smiles wickedly.

"Oh no...I thought I was safe..." Amy murmurs to herself, rubbing a temple.

"Yes," Splinter smiles happily, but Draxum joins the group again.

"Great. I'm staying," He hugs Mikey's leg.

"Yay!" Mikey pulls everyone into a group hug. "Everybody's happy!"

The two enemies glare at each other intensely. "Behave, the both of you," Amy warns them sternly. "I am not dealing with anymore craziness."

"Behold, the old neighborhood!" Splinter announces during the first stop. "On your right is the place I used to get my hair cut. On the left is where I get lunch after getting my hair cut."

"Wow. Cool tour. In case you couldn't tell by my cuteness, I was being sarcastic," Draxum comments maliciously on purpose. Splinter smacks him in the face with his tail in glee. He gasps sharply at something up ahead.

"Oh! It's still here!" He laughs and comes to a stop in front of a mural of himself fighting a Turducken. He touches his old self on the wall. "One of my biggest fans painted this..."

"Wow, it's pretty impressive," Amy looks up at it in awe.

"It's almost as big as your ego," Draxum comments, to Splinter's ire.

"You're just jealous they don't pain murals for war criminals!" The rat grits his teeth and Draxum just scoffs.

"Beats being an actor. The most pathetic form of artist."

Splinter gasps in offense. "My craft!"

Mikey squeezes everyone into another hug. "It's so cool!"

"Draxum, I mean it when I say to behave. Stop goading Splinter, and Master Splinter, just ignore him," Amy glances between the both of them.

"Fine," Splinter looks away with a pout, but just like Donnie, he wasn't sure if he was gonna let that go.

"Alright, Ms. Smith," Draxum replies thinly.

They take pictures at the mural, during make-up tutorials, one of the highest points of the city, and near a fountain. However, it's clear to Mikey and Amy that Splinter and Draxum aren't exactly as excited as they are. Amy pats Mikey's back as he's looking at the pictures he took.

"Oh, look!" Splinter smiles at something else he sees. "My favorite lucky fountain again!"

"Wow..." Mikey murmurs at it in awe. "It's just as cool as when we saw it waiting for big sis!" Amy's eyes widen at the landmark.

"Hey, I saw this fountain with Raph earlier!"

Mikey gasps sharply at her. "You saw this before?! Oh, we're never gonna win the favoritism contest."

She shakes her head slowly. "Here, Mikey," Splinter takes a coin out of his robe. "Take this coin and go make a wish. Amelia, why don't you take him and tell him about the fountain?"

"I only saw it for a few brief seconds, I didn't get to enjoy it," She elaborates, waving Mikey forward. "Come on, Mikey. I hope you two can behave yourselves in the meantime."

"I will stay here and watch..." Draxum hits his face. He catches it reluctantly into his hands. "The bear..."

Mikey waves eagerly as Amy escorts him to the fountain. "So I saw this fountain while Raph and I were being chased..."

"Ugh, when's the last time you trimmed your grubby nails?" Draxum asks in disgust.

"Listen here, bear," Splinter slightly squeezes him in anger. "One more crack out of you, and I'll rip that cloaking brooch off and we'll see what the police do to you!"

Draxum slaps him across the face, causing the rat to drop him. "I dare you, old man." He adjusts his tie. "Let's see how your son will react when you're responsible for me, his best new pal, getting arrested."

Splinter grits his teeth at how smug he looks. He gets on all fours, shaking like a cat. "Don't talk to me about my son, you fluffy little monster! You and your stupid bow tie are ruining my life, and my special day!"

An owl mutant and her child are flying past. The mother covers up the child's eyes at the display, flying backwards.

"Oh, some special day. Wishing fountains and barber shops. What's the next stop on this one-way ride to Lameville?" Draxum retorts back to him.

"THAT'S IT! Let's go!" Their noses touch as they glare at each other. "I'll give you the same treatment I gave that Turducken!"

"Anytime, any place," Draxum challenges him. "I'm going to kick you back to-"

Someone pokes his head, interrupting the bear. It falls onto the ground, limp. He has to unfortunately act like a toy so that no one's the wiser.

"Excuse me, does this toy bear belong to you?"

"That thing?" Splinter places his hands on his hips, looking up at the bird mutant. He then notices that he's wearing a Hidden City Police badge, meaning he's an officer. "Uhh," He rubs the back of his head. "No, officer, it was abandoned. Probably because it is unlovable and rude," He grins widely, seeing this as his chance to be rid of his enemy. "Feel free to take it."

"Nice. My daughter's gonna love this," He spins around the bear, placing it over his shoulder. Draxum looks up at him with a glare, growling.

Splinter just snickers with a big grin, the two teenagers returning. "I made a wish, but don't ask what it is or it won't come true~ And that story was crazy, big sis! I can't believe there are criminals out there like us! And that you got an ice gun!"

"Well, not exactly like you. Heinous Green didn't really speak," Amy crosses her arms, tilting her head in thought. "But I bet if he did, he'd sound like Sean Astin."

Mikey notices that Draxum is gone, rapidly looking around for him. "Hey. Where did Terry-Barry go?" He brings Splinter onto his shoulders while searching.

"Uhh, no idea," Splinter pushes Mikey's head straight forward so that Mikey doesn't notice the police blimp flying away.

"But wasn't he with you?" Amy asks in confusion, about to look up. Splinter pushes her head down further.

Draxum growls, and Splinter pushes him out of sight. "Now, the three of us can just enjoy the day I had planned."

Mikey puts him down, and he's faced with a glaring Amy. "Where did he go? What did you do to him?"

"Splinter, I swear, if you don't tell us where he went, no more chocolate chip muffins," She threatens him.

"Nothing too bad. I just let a police officer take him as a gift for a little girl. He'll be fine..."

"A police officer?!" Mikey screeches at the rat. "What have you done, old man?!"

"Splinter, if that brooch is taken off, he'll get arrested on the spot!" Amy scolds him.

"Calm down," Splinter dismisses it without much care in his voice. "Why do you even care so much about that guy? He wasn't the one who saved a little girl from being mutated! He didn't take her back to the hospital so that she would live! He didn't think of Amelia as his daughter knowing that her real one is dead!"

Amy's eyes widen slowly as she looks at her heart. She touches it with her hand. All that time...she was wondering who saved her and why...but she didn't think she'd hear his selfish and jealous tone about it...

Mikey looks towards the ground. "...He made me. He made us."

"Yeah, I know. He's a monster," Splinter closes his eyes.

"But without him, I wouldn't have you," Mikey rubs his arm. "Or a big sister. If he hadn't killed her family, she would've been all alone to deal with her mom on her own. She wouldn't have us for hugs and kisses. Maybe he didn't...make us for the right reasons, but I'm still glad he did. So where is he?"

Splinter sighs slowly, rubbing his neck. "He got put in a police balloon, taken away."

"You mean that balloon?!" He points up to the balloon that's flying away from them. He drags Amy and Splinter with him. "Follow it!"

They speed after the balloon, following it all the way to the police officer's house.

"Oh sweetheart!" The officer slides into the room, holding up Draxum.

The girl immediately takes the bear and hugs him tightly. "I brought a fuzzy little friend for my precious little princess!" He leaves the room and she waves with a smile. Then she giggles with her three eyes, staring down at Draxum. She places him in a chair for a tea party and she lands on the table.

"This is a robbery! On the floor!" She kicks away a plate, holding a little staff in her hand. "I said down!" She's a police yokai's daughter, so it would make sense that she would mimic his lifestyle. Flahses go off from her room as the three arrive at the house.

"The balloon! Boost me up!"

He stands on Splinter's shoulders, looking over the fence...to see a three-headed guard dog. "Uh...good doggie..."

His legs wiggle around as the two scream. Amy pulls him down, stumbling back in fear to see no head. She screams in horror, looking up at the box turtle in horror.

"Whoa!" Splinter exclaims in alarm, but Mikey's head pops back up. Amy sighs in relief as she stands up, dusting herself off.

"You scared the shell out of me, Mikey!"

"Well, it looks like it's too hot to save bear. How about a little shaved ice, and then we can find a new bear?" He looks up at Mikey to see him blinking back tears with a disappointed face. Amy gasps at Mikey, panicking a little.

"Splinter didn't mean it," She gives him a tiny glare. "I'm sure he'll take it back any second now!"

But then Mikey sprays Splinter and Amy in tears with his crying. Splinter pushes him away, Amy soaking wet. "Fine...I've...got an idea..."

"Good," Amy narrows her eyes at him. "First my hair and then my clothes..."

Splinter runs up to Leo at the tourist stand, where a camera records them. "Blue! I need your-" He sees Leo distracted by showing off his face to the person standing at the booth.

"See, my girlfriend loves my cheekbones. They're perfect, right? Anyway, I'm still waiting on her so that we can end the day together."

The person at the booth rolls his eyes. Splinter smiles a bit. "Okay, one thing at a time. Blue, over here!"

He's too busy talking and Splinter sees his sword nearby. "I'm just gonna borrow this for a sec, okay thanks, bye!" He uses the sword to get back to the house, sliding to a stop near the shocked duo. "Alright, you two be the lookout, I'll go get Barry Draxum."

"You better actually bring him back and the sword too, and not just leave him there," Amy warns him and he waves it off. He swings the sword, jumps through the portal, and lands in the little girl's room. She's taking a nap, and Draxum is tied up with rope on the floor. "Draxum!"

He cuts the teddy bear free, and watches him slowly stand up. Draxum balances himself and spins around, kicking at Splinter's face in retaliation. However, since he's a bear, it doesn't really hurt Splinter. He lands in the pile of blocks.

Splinter shushes him for the noise. "We gotta get out of here!"

Draxum growls up at the rat, pushing a block slowly. He then takes a few minutes to get onto the block so that he's bit taller, pulling Splinter's collar forward.

"I'm not going anywhere with you! You left me with that monster!" He points at the little girl.

"Pot boiling the kettle?" Splinter retorts back.

Draxum then starts punching at him. "What is your quarrel with me?"

Splinter pushes him off the block and away from him. "You turned me into a rat!" Splinter hisses before facepalming with a sigh. He remembers where they are. "Not here...not now. Let's just get out of here and go back to, you know, being enemies," He puts Leo's sword over his shoulder.

Draxum scoffs as he sits up. "Fine by me."

He creates another portal for them to exit. "Heather?" Her father calls out from outside and they stiffen. The bird officer opens the door, filing his beak. "What did we say about playing War Lord after bedtime?" He drops the file as he sees Splinter about to go into the portal. "What?!"

Draxum plays bear, falling onto the floor. "FREEZE! Anti-mystic device, go!" He throws it right at Splinter's face, the device getting rid of the portal. It sends a purple shockwave everywhere, and it unfortunately affects the brooch, turning Draxum back to normal. The device hits his head as it's dead silence in Heather's room.

The police officer pulls out a wanted poster of Draxum, comparing the two. Draxum turns his head to hide his face, but the damage has already been done.

"DRAXUM!" The officer shouts in rage. Both of them scream in fear from his face. Then Heather screams from all the noise. The two get attacked in the home while Amy and Mikey are still waiting outside. Amy looks up at the house in alarm.

"The lookouts are looking out and nothing to be seen..."

"What the heck is going on in there?" Amy asks at seeing the house. The two enemies suddenly burst from the front entrance, frightening the both of them.

Draxum turns to the both of them. "We gotta go!"

"What did you two do?!" Amy exclaims in disbelief and a light shines on them. Amy covers her eyes with an arm.

"Stop right there, Baron Draxum!"

"That's not good," Mikey says nervously as the two sweat.

"We got a 170, I mean a 320...d-dang it, what's the code for a cute toy bear turned out to be Hidden City's Most Wanted?!" He's never really seen this before, so he's not sure if there's even a code for that...

"That's a 4047," The officer from the walkie talkie informs him.

The four have gone into hiding inside a dumpster. "Oh, great work, alchemist," Splinter replies sarcastically as he peeks from the side. "Now I have to come up with a plan to get us out of your mess!"

"I'll come up with the plan," Draxum gestures to himself, leaning against the wall. Mikey and Amy are sitting in between the two. Amy looks between the two enemies, wondering if they're really gonna do this right now.

"Oh, no, no, no, I'll come up with the plan," Splinter grits his teeth at him.

"I'm a master planner," Draxum jerks a thumb to himself. "I'll get us out of here."

"Guys, as the only mature one here," Amy gives them both a look. "I think Mikey and I should handle it." After all, it was because of Splinter's actions and resentment that they were here in the first place! Well, that and Draxum's unnecessary insults towards the rat. Even she's not like that.

"No!" She gives Splinter a look of annoyance for his stubborn answer. "Think of how many times you planned something that I've stopped! I'm, uh...a super master planner!"

"That's a made-up thing," Draxum tells him.

"You're a made-up thing!" Splinter grits his teeth, pointing at him. Amy rubs a temple, sighing deeply. "This is all your fault!"

"All my fault?!" Mikey frowns as he listens to the two. "if it wasn't for you, my day wouldn't have involved being tortured by a demon child!"

"Maybe I ruined your day...but you ruined my life!"

Draxum just laughs at the accusation. "Life! When I found you, you were a husk of a man. You had lost your taste for fighting. You had no purpose!"

"Draxum, that didn't give you the right to mutate him!" Amy shakes her head slowly. "He still had a life to live!"

"I'm not lost anymore!" Splinter argues back. "I have my sons and a surrogate daughter, and you ruined our special day!"

"Without me, you wouldn't even have a son whose day I could ruin!"

Mikey drops his head, tears in his eyes. Amy glares at the both of them, having enough. "Shut up! Both of you just shut up!" She stands up furiously, and they stare up at her in shock. "Draxum, I don't understand why you feel the need to ruin today all because YOU decided that he wasn't the idol you saw him as before!"

Draxum looks away, crossing his arms with a huff. Then she whips around to the rat. "And Master Splinter, if it wasn't for him, you wouldn't even be here with Mikey! You wouldn't have anything to celebrate with him! He's the reason why you're the man you are today! Yes, you're not Lou Jitsu, but you're something more important than rich and fame: a father to turtles that were abandoned. Not to mention, you saved my life. And I'll always be grateful for that." Her eyes soften at him. "You could never replace my real father, but...you're the dad I'll continue to have."

He gasps as he remembers something.

Near the hospital where little Alina and her mother was, was the mutated Lou Jitsu. He had grown rat fingernails, a beard, a nose, and longer hair. His entire skin was pink. He clenched his fists, upset that he's reduced to this lifestyle...he had lost his humanity, his career, and the woman he fell in love with was a mutant crime boss.

A little turtle hand touched his and he looked up to see the sleeping three baby turtles. The little box turtle patted his hand, and he opened it up. The baby turtle snuggled into his hand. Then again...he did save these poor turtles that were going to be experimented on. And he also saved the little girl that was just like him...because of Draxum, both of their lives would never be the same again.

And he wouldn't change that for the world.

He took the four close and hugged them.

"Mister?"

He looked up to see the exact same girl he saved. She was holding an umbrella over herself, staring at him.

"Ah!" He recoiled back a bit from the sight of her, and she was holding a tray in her left hand.

"Did you...save me, mister?" She stared at him softly, trying not to cry. He blinked in shock, wondering how she came to that conclusion.

"I...did, little one. I am sorry I could not do more for you, but...I couldn't leave you in peril." He reached out and touched her cheek. "Thank you for all that you did to help me and these little creatures."

She nodded, sniffling. "You're welcome, mister! Thank you for saving me...I remembered because you were wearing the same outfit I saw you in. You made sure I was okay..."

He smiled weakly. "Now go, little one. I'm sure your mother will need you."

"Okay..." She stepped forward and noticed some drips landing on his head from the rain. While the box was okay, there was some holes in it. Alina slid her umbrella over a hole so that it went over the box, protecting them from the rain. "Oh, and my name is Alina. Good luck, Mr...?"

"...Call me Splinter," He replied after a few seconds and she smiled, running off back to the hospital.

Mikey touches his hand just like he did when he was little. Splinter opens his hand and holds his head. "...I remember now..." Amy murmurs slowly at the rat. "I remember that you saved my life...and left me in a safe place because it was a fatherly thing to do..."

"You know what? You are right, Amelia and Draxum." Both of them blink in surprise. "I wouldn't change my life and what I have with my boys and daughter for anything."

He touches Mikey's cheek just like he did with Amy's. "I never thought I would say this...but thank you...for turning me into...me. And yes, Amelia...to me, you are the daughter I never had—before April, that is! You showed me kindness despite your situation with your mother, and I will never forget it."

Mikey blinks at him as Amy smiles softly. His eyes shine as he looks between the two. Amy leans forward and hugs the rat, to his surprise. He hugs her back with a gentle smile. The former warrior scientist sighs deeply.

"And you are right," Draxum admits after a few seconds, Amy looking over her shoulder. "I'm sorry for, you know, trying to turn you into a weapon...and much better stuff."

Mikey gives him a tight hug. "My wish came true!"

He threw his coin into the fountain. "I wish my two dads would get along..."

He brings all of them into another hug. "You know that thing doesn't really grant wishes..."

"Then explain to me why we're hugging right now," Mikey smiles knowingly and Amy places a hand on Draxum's shoulder.

"Let him have this one. Or else he'll never stop talking about it..." She silently rolls her eyes. The sirens sound right outside the dumpster.

"They're in this dumpster! And based on my readings, they're hugging!" The bird officer shouts from outside.

Amy's eyes go wide as she looks at the door. "Oh, they're good!"

"How is it that two officers can't tell that Raph and I aren't criminals, and yet this guy manages to find us without a single trace?!" Amy hisses in disbelief as she holds her head. She wondered if 75% of them were just dumb and unobservant, while the other 25% are the actual smart ones.

"Exit the dumpster! You're all under arrest!" Other officers have arrived as back-up, surrounding the dumpster.

Splinter looks out the small crevice to see all the officers. Draxum places a hand on his shoulder.

"We'll get our kids out of here," He smiles a bit and Amy recoils back, a bit creeped out.

"Aww! Draxum thinks of you like a daughter," Mikey's eyes shine at her.

"Um, I feel weird," She comments to Draxum. "Please don't ever say that about me again." Even though he did play a part in creating her family, and was technically the reason she had her powers, he didn't really give her powers to her. He didn't stick any mutagen in her, and while she did forgive him, the two aren't THAT close.

Splinter smiles, getting a finger to his lips by his former enemy. "This is my moment..."

The two burst the dumpster open, the lid landing in between the officers. Draxum slowly crawls out, to the shock of the police.

"You'll never take the great Baron Drax-" Before he could finish his sentence or attack even, he gets tasered by the police. It reaches into the dumpster since Amy is in close proximity, shocking her. This leaves her with her hair almost scorched.

"Oh come on!" She hisses before they move into the alley. Splinter runs off with Mikey, his limbs and head tucked into his shell. Amy is running behind them. One of the officers sees their shadows and flashes the flashlight into the alley. He looks around for them, but they're nowhere to be found.

Inside the prison, Draxum is tied to a wooden plank, dressed as if he's going to the asylum in a straitjacket, and a mask over his face. The officers escort him into the same cell as Raph, April, and Donnie. The officer simply places him inside, throwing him next to Raph. Then she leaves them there in the cell...

"I really hope Mellie comes up with that plan soon," Raph grumbles to everyone after a few seconds.
