"Phil, Phil, I need you to calm down love. What's wrong with her? Did you call an ambulance?"

Part 2

"Right, ok. It sounds like she could be having a stroke. I need you to hang up and call 999. Well do it off Mel's phone then," Rachel commanded as she rubbed her forehead.

"Melissa" she mouthed to Eddie as soon as she looked up. He felt his shoulders immediately relax and instantly felt guilty: he had been so afraid it was Lottie.

"You don't need her unlock code Phil. It will let you dial 999. All phones will." Sometimes she despaired of young people: so tech savvy but lacking basic knowledge.

"Just say Ambulance when they answer and then when you get through to the Ambulance service, tell them your address first, then about your mum. Go on Philip. I'm still here."

She paused obviously listening and then looked up at Eddie. She grabbed a notepad out of the draw by her bed, keeping the quilt pressed tightly to herself. Eddie almost sighed: she was going to ignore what had obviously happened between them. He watched as she scribbled something and held it up.

"GO AND GET A SHOWER – WE NEED TO GET TO ROCHDALE"

He nodded; she was right. Phil couldn't be expected to deal with this on his own.
