Angel: Some have asked what exactly happened to Amy in the last episode, and I had to leave it ambiguous XD Which is why I didn't mention her directly in the last few paragraphs, but this episode will answer the question.
I thought it was just gonna be two episodes last week because the last two episodes didn't have an airdate, but noooo. We're back to four episodes, and my fingers get strained writing them, again XD It's not that I hate writing this show, I just wish they would stop doing 3 to 4 episodes at a time every month. I'm only one person, dang it XD I'm not a miracle worker either. At least we got episodes earlier in the month this time around.
Unfortunately...it's been confirmed that these last four episodes are the end of the ENTIRE series. I don't know why they shortened the season, but it may have to do with certain people being fired, or low merchandise sales. To be honest, I wasn't expecting this, and because of that, I have to leave certain stuff up in the air...because Nick is crazy like that *blank look* What is happening, why are all the good shows ending this year! I am so sick and tired of networks not giving shows a chance…
Anyway, I had a lot of fun writing this version of Amy and the show and just...yeah...I'm gonna have to write something else that I thought wasn't going to be released until like later in the year! Thanks a lot for that, Nick. Writing this show was definitely a challenge (especially during season 1), but a fun one. That being said, I probably messed up on a lot of Japanese in these final episodes, so please don't kill me over that ^^'
This really hit me hard, so I wrote some funny moments to soften the blow for me... D:
The turtles, Splinter, the girls, and Draxum all peek into the guest room. Amy is sitting in bed with a desolate look on her face, the blanket over her legs. She's been like that ever since they escaped from what happened with Big Mama and Foot Recruit. All she had were a couple of scrapes and a slight concussion, but other than that she was fine...physically. Not to mention the city is still trapped inside Big Mama's orb...They wanted to ask why she's like this, but they were afraid she'd bite their heads off. They tried throwing stuff at her, leaving her food, but she hasn't been responsive.
"We need to do something, guys. I don't like seeing my big sister like this," Mikey frowns in worry at the girl. Seeing her so depressed was so unnatural to them, even to Draxum.
"Amelia is usually so confident," Draxum crosses his arms. "Strong, willful, but...her loyalties always lie with us."
"Let me try," Raph jerks a thumb to himself. "Cheering up like a boss!"
Leo looks slightly annoyed as Raph tiptoes over to her. She doesn't look up as Raph holds out his phone.
"Hey Mellie~" He does this in that baby voice that she hates, and yet she doesn't make a comment on it this time around. "I called your sister-in-law and she said that everyone's doing fine. You wanna talk to em?"
"…Thanks for checking up on them, but I'll call them later," She replies in a dismissive tone. "You can go now."
"Oh…okay," He glances over his shoulder to the others with a frown. He dejectedly walks back to the others. "I don't get it. One phone call and she'd be fine!"
"Perhaps it's the five stages of grief again," Donnie rubs his chin.
"Over her family? Wouldn't she have said something?" Lily looks up at him.
"I got this!" April pushes past them and steps inside, hands on her hips. "Hey Shakira! Wanna bake some cupcakes?"
"I'm not in the mood for baking right now. Maybe later," Amy murmurs, causing everyone else to gasp sharply. If she responds with that, then something is definitely wrong.
April walks back to the group. "Not wanting to bake?! She's a doppelgänger! Annihilate her!" Donnie aims his staff at her.
"NO!" Everyone shouts, tackling him into a dog pile except Leo.
"I'm sure you were saving the best for last," Leo boasts, gesturing to himself. He then runs off into his room. "You guys stay here, I got just the thing!"
They glance to each other in confusion, wondering what he's gonna do or if it's even gonna make a difference.
Amy's still sitting in bed, and they're still peeking into her room when a large shadow looms over the group.
"Step aside, fam! I need to do what I do best!"
They turn around in alarm and then snicker at him, but he just walks past them without saying a word. Amy glances over to the doorway, her mouth open in shock.
Because Leo right now is dressed as a teddy bear. He's also holding a bouquet of stargazer lilies. He grins at her behind the head.
"Hey teddy, how you doin'?" Ann bursts into laughter.
"I'm not your teddy," He narrows his eyes at her behind the costume head in a high-pitched voice. "I love you. Do you love me?" Leo asks the older brunette.
"No, I don't know what you're talking about," She deadpans, since she can tell it's her boyfriend. He's done that voice to her before when he prank called her bakery with his brothers. Everyone pulls out their phones except Draxum.
"Instagram this," Ann tells Lily, who nods in agreement.
"LOVE ME!"
Amy shakes her head, biting back a laugh. "Leo, what on EARTH are you doing?"
"My lady is sad, so I thought I'd make her laugh! These are for you!" He gives her the flowers, causing her to smile.
"Do you love the bear?" Lily grins playfully. "Tell the bear you love him."
Amy can't help but snicker, covering her mouth. "I love you, bear."
"And your boyfriend doesn't have to know."
"He doesn't have to—that's funny," Amy laughs out loud.
He grins and then takes off the hat, sitting next to her. He knew that he could make her laugh and feel better for a few seconds. "Ames, why do you look so upset? I've never seen you like this before..."
"I really don't wanna face this problem right now," She drops her smile, crossing her arms.
"Not even in front of me?" Leo gestures to himself in offense.
"We're not even alone," Amy glares behind him and he turns around to the others still recording. Then they notice the couple giving them looks that say 'leave.'
"I'll just..." April smiles nervously, pushing everyone away from the door. Leo shakes his head, turning back to Amy.
"What's wrong?"
"It's about the Shredder..." Amy frowns deeply, looking towards the sheets forlornly. "And how I lost to him so easily. That's not me, I...I'm supposed to be the tough girl. The one who can do anything. I pay all the bills. I take care of my mom. I have my own business. And what do I have to show for it? Getting hit by an ancient demon..." She sniffles, starting to cry. "I didn't want the others to see me cry...I don't like people seeing how weak I can be. That was me in high school! It was hell after they started bullying me! I hate feeling so useless!"
She covers her eyes, sobbing into them. Leo pulls her for a hug as best as he could with the costume. He rubs her back and looks down to face her.
"You're not useless. The Shredder's a powerful demon from 500 years ago! Everyone has a weakness, Ames. I bet you could take him if Dad hadn't said that a gun couldn't kill him."
"...What's yours?" She couldn't help but wonder.
"You," He admits with a smirk and her heart beats slightly. She then laughs and slightly pushes him away.
"Be serious! That doesn't count!"
"Does too!" He pulls her closer. "Because I love you and I don't want you to cry, or be unhappy."
"I love you too..." She murmurs softly. "Thanks, Papi. You always know how to cheer me up when I'm feeling insecure..."
"Well...I know that there's more to you than just being a tough girl. You could eat pineapple on pizza and I'd still love you."
She blushes, smiling bashfully as she rubs her neck.
"Aww...!"
They turn to the entrance to see the others looking at them with tears in their eyes, annoying Amy. Was anything ever private anymore?
"I will beat the ever-loving crap out of you if you don't leave right now!" She threatens and they run off in fear. Leo chuckles and they share a warm, loving hug, both of them smiling.
Underneath the Foot Shack, Foot Recruit, Foot Lieutenant, and Foot Brute all face the Shredder in their candle-lit lair.
"Master Shredder," Foot Recruit speaks up, "You have returned to us. After 500 years, the Foot Clan can finally fulfill our mission, and do your dark bidding!"
She grits her teeth at him, but he doesn't seem to respond or move. The collar Big Mama had around him is still around his neck.
Foot Brute shines an apple. "Forget it, kid. He's not moving unless we use this ring thing," Foot Lieutenant looks to the ring that she stole from Big Mama, and ultimately used it to destroy her hotel. He puts on the ring, taking a stance. "Shredder! Obey me!" The ring shines, activating the Shredder's eyes. He uses his scarf to slice at the apple, resulting in 5 perfect slices.
"Thanks, Shreddy," He grins at the demon.
"How dare you!" Foot Recruit snatches away the apple pieces. "The Shredder is our master," She then shoves the pieces in her mouth. "You will RESPECT HIS SERVICE!"
"The one weekend we go apple picking, and we miss the people of New York vanishing and the return of Shredder!" Foot Brute complains, gesturing to their master.
"Time for me to plot the Clan's next move. Recruit, fetch me some peanut butter. The smooth stuff. Oh, oh, oh, but mash up some peanuts and sprinkle 'em in, will you?"
"ENOUGH!" She shouts, snatching the ring. She was done taking orders from them. She then puts on the ring and both the object and her eyes turn green. She uses it to control the Shredder into grabbing their collars, lifting them up in the air. "I found Shredder. I will decide our next move," She glances over her shoulder. "And I say we remove this collar, and bring him back to his FULL SHREDDERNESS!"
Draxum chuckles as Leo and Amy step back into the living room, seeing their friends and family exhausted. "Clever Clan. No one would ever look for us in this disgusting sewer hovel. And I thought your little...establishment was worse."
"Don't talk smack about my bakery," Amy narrows her eyes defensively, hands on her hips. She and Leo take a seat on another bean bag chair.
"Home sweet home, baby!" Mikey hugs the bean bag he's laying on.
"I was a fool to trust Big Mama to dispose of the Shredder," Splinter glances at the piece of web goo that's still around his arm. "Now he is back and threatens all of humanity."
"Hey, at least the people of New York are still safe inside the mystical orb," April points to the orb that's disguised as a ball.
"Why don't we let 'em out?" Mikey reaches out to it.
"No!" Splinter calls out. "Not with Shredder around here."
"Dad's right," Leo turns to his little brother, glancing away. "We don't want them to get shredded. Instead, we should...insert Raph's plan here," He gestures to the snapping turtle, who looks surprised to be addressed. Everyone except Amy gives him expectant looks.
"...Honestly, I don't know. We already hit 'em with everything we've got, so...insert Dad's plan here."
Now the attention is on the rat, who crosses his arms. "I got nothing," He states to everyone's disappointment.
"You have to have something," Lily frowns at his answer.
"But Papa," Donnie leans in towards him. "You were trained from birth to protect the world from Shredder," He then uses a stethoscope on his father's face. "Surely your mind must be filled with answers!"
Splinter smacks him away with his tail. "Unfortunately, I filled it with a lot of other stuff too...why did I not listen to Grandpa Sho's painfully boring lessons on the secrets of defeating Shredder?!" He falls onto the ground in dismay.
"I wouldn't call it just being ignorant. After all, you did want to marry Big Mama!" Amy crosses her arms at him.
"Wait, what?!" Donnie, Mikey, and Raph exclaim in horror.
"Ew, she could've been our mama for real?!"
"Gross!"
"Oh my peaches and cream, why would you share that?" Donnie drags a hand down his face.
"Come on Splints, that's disgusting!" April covers her ears.
"Nobody in the Hidden City should ever have to hear that!"
"How am I supposed to have nice dreams tonight?" Ann has a look of disgust.
"Now I can't stop picturing it…" Lily looks like she's about to puke.
Splinter gives Amy a slight glare and she smiles sheepishly. "Hey, you should've told them…"
"Well, to go back to less disgusting matters if you were there when he spoke..." Draxum starts off while sitting in the armchair. "Then the answer is buried somewhere in your memories..."
"Yes...but that would mean sending my sons and my daughter to a horrifying, hideous place they've never been!" Splinter frowns in worry.
"Jersey? Heh heh heh, callback," Leo grins widely, nudging Amy. "Remember when we went there after your shop blew up and we had to deal with that villain team-up?"
"Mmm," Amy looks at him in annoyance and Draxum doesn't seem too happy with him of the reminder either...
"Really, Leo?" Raph sighs wearily at his brother.
"What?" He asks innocently.
"No," Splinter has a deadpan look. "My memories."
All five scream in horror.
An hourglass is placed in front of him. In the skate park, they've set up a large symbol, where Splinter is in the middle, surrounded by the five.
"You will be transported into the rat's brain. Once inside, you'll use the Sands of Time to move deeper into his memories."
Amy has a deep frown on her face, unsure about this. "You wanna run that by me again? This seems something like Inception..."
"This is safe, right?" April has the same concerns as her.
"Yes," Draxum chuckles nervously as he looks at the girls. Ann narrows her eyes suspiciously. "And no. Mostly no. Memories don't like to be tampered with, and they may find a way to...fight back."
"Okay, once we're in, we need to find Grandpa Sho. Leave no memory unturned!" Donnie declares across Splinter.
"What about the memories I want to keep private?" Splinter glances at the yokai.
"Yeah, this seems like privacy invading. I thought Donnie would always be the one to that," Ann comments, earning a small glare from Donnie.
"Hey! I haven't done that...yet," He murmurs that last part to himself.
"Not my problem, good luck!" Draxum says quickly, slamming his hands on the circles. The whole circle turns blue as everything gets dark, and the circle glows. The hourglass sand starts falling and Donnie opens his eyes, revealing white pupils. Leo, Amy, Raph, and Mikey have the same eyes and then Splinter opens his, revealing that his eyes are white as well.
Suddenly, spotlights turn on, slightly blinding Donnie. He opens an eye and then looks around in confusion. "Did it work?" Other people are in the room as they're standing behind a red backdrop with pictures of people kicking towards them. "Are we in Dad's memory?"
Leo gasps sharply at something. "Look, look, look, look!" He points to a cauldron that is literally labeled 'hot soup.' "We're on the set of a Lou Jitsu movie!"
"Ohh!"
"Omigosh! Omigosh!" The turtles start dancing in glee and Amy giggles. Luckily, no one could hear or see them because they're invisible to the people. After all, they weren't even around yet when this happened. But she wishes she could record this.
Lou Jitsu storms past the crew and Amy spots him. "Guys. Guys, look!" She points to the man.
"Look, it's Grandpa Sho!" Mikey calls out as a tinier man follows after Lou Jitsu.
"Yoshi! This is your last chance!" He bangs on the door. "Enough of this silly play-acting! You must come back to your family! And fulfill your destiny..." He glances to the scrolls in his arms.
Lou Jitsu opens the door. "I told you, jiji, I don't have time for that! Can't you see how important I've become? Somebody, bring me a donut on top of a pizza!" He slams the door shut, fully turning his back on his destiny to defeat the Shredder. Sho tears up slightly.
"Goodbye, Yoshi..." He slowly walks away with the scroll, Lou Jitsu peeking from his trailer.
Clearly, this memory is painful for Splinter as he grits his teeth. And unfortunately, after that encounter, he never saw his grandfather again...
Lou's eyes tear up and he moves the blinds away. The lights start to flicker.
"Follow Grandpa Sho!" Raph exclaims as the man is getting farther away. The five run after him. "He knows the secret to defeating Shredder!" It seems as if the closer they get, the more far away Sho is. The lights flicker again and Raph pants, trying to catch up. The lights slowly go out, and then Sho is gone, leaving just them underneath a spotlight. "Where'd he go?!"
It's just them for a few seconds before another light appears in the distance. The figure looks familiar as he clenches a fist.
"Get...out."
They turn towards the newcomer, and he looks like Lou Jitsu, but is more grey. "Whoa! Dad."
He then attacks Leo, knocking him to the ground. "Hey!" Amy exclaims, bending down to him in concern.
"Ow..." Leo sits up, confused. "Should Memory Us be punchable?"
"That's not Papa!" Donnie turns to him. "That must be what Draxum was talking about. Dad's subconscious is fighting back against invaders, like that movie."
Lou attacks him and the real Donnie sweats while gritting his teeth, his eye bulging. April is bended down next to him, wiping off his head with a rag.
"What's happening to them?" She glances to the others in concern.
"You just had to go and search in Splinter's memory!" Ann yells at Draxum, genuinely concerned for them...but mostly Raph...
"The rat's subconscious is rejecting them. I need to move them to another memory!" Draxum slides his right hand and the circle around Splinter moves three times.
The next thing the five knew, they're falling right above the city. They all scream as they flail their arms, and they phase right through an apartment building. One by one, they fall on top of each other. Raph groans, placing his face in the floor.
"What's up with the sudden fall?" Amy mutters, rubbing her head. Laying down on his bed right across from them is a teenager.
"Whoa! It's human teenage Dad!" Mikey exclaims upon seeing him.
"Yoshi!" Sho hits him on the head with a scroll. "You never listen to me!"
"What was that? I wasn't listening," Yoshi shouts over the music.
"I said, you must complete your training, so you can defeat the Shredder should he ever return...this is your duty," He clenches a fist, turning around. "Just as it was your mother's."
"Huh?" Amy murmurs, glancing at Yoshi. That resonates with her, since her mother doesn't really have a normal life right now...
Splinter's rat ear tilts in defense.
"What?!" Yoshi stands up angrily. "And waste my life like you and my mom did waiting for some boogeyman from a bajillion years ago?! No way! I'm writing my own destiny, Gramps! I'm going to Hollywood land!" He points to headshots of himself. "To become a star!" He then throws away the pictures and storms off.
"Yoshi!" Sho calls out after him. "If fate of the world, may one be rested..." He runs after the boy.
Leo picks up a photo. "Wow," Raph rubs his neck awkwardly. "Dad really beefed this one."
"Leave it to Splinter to be the typical rebellious teenager," Amy crosses her arms. "This is why I'm glad I always loved baking."
"We gotta follow Sho if we want the secret to defeating the Shredder!" Raph urges and Leo looks at the photo in confusion. He gets punched, again, sliding to a stop near their feet. The picture falls to reveal Splinter's subconscious again, who crawls out of the photo, glaring up at them.
"Ah, what do you know? An evil manifestation of Father again," Donnie remarks as the other photos come to life. They attack the group maliciously, the lights blinking rapidly from their fight.
Meanwhile, Foot Recruit has obtained a crowbar, trying to use that to get the collar free. "Stupid mystic collar!" She exclaims in frustration before it slips and she falls down the steps, landing in between her teachers eating ice cream.
"Still wanna be in charge?" Foot Lieutenant teases her.
"Zero regrets!" She shouts back.
The turtles and Amy are all cringing from being attacked.
"How are we supposed to get the secrets from Grandpa Sho if Lou Jitsu keeps stopping us?!" Mikey calls out while they're running.
"I don't know, but somebody do something, and do something quick!" Amy shouts, looking behind her. The Lou Jitsus are trailing after them.
"We gotta split up. You guys keep 'em busy while Mellie and I get close to Grandpa Sho!" Raph calls out as he grabs Amy's hand, taking the lead.
"Be careful, you guys!" She warns them as they run further down the alley. The three jump up to fight the Lou Jitsus while the two see bright light up ahead. "He must've went this way!"
Once they enter, they notice a smaller boy sitting between Grandpa Sho and a woman, who has the Hamato symbol. The boy is playing with his toys, and they're sitting in what looks to be a modern Japan. They're together at a bench, surrounded by the beautiful pink blossom trees.
Grandpa Sho opens up the scroll, which has the drawing of the Shredder on it. "And just before the giant mean teddy bear, Shredder, destroyed the village, the greatest weapon in the history of the Hamato Clan struck him in his cute fuzzy nose." Amy grins knowingly. Since Yoshi was only young, obviously his grandfather couldn't say every gory detail. "Boop! And sent them both to the Twilight Realm, where they lived awfully ever after."
"There's a weapon?" Raph asks in surprise. "That's it!"
Yoshi takes one look at the symbol and then looks to the same one that's on the woman's arm. He looks up at her sad expression. She sniffles, turning to him.
"Yoshi, sweetie. Mommy has to go."
"No, Mommy, please stay," He hugs her arm, tears streaming down his face.
"Oh, my sweet boy, I wish I could," She gently touches his head, Sho stiffening. Every single member of the Hamato Clan has gone away...left families behind...and never came back... "But it is my duty to keep watch for the return of the Shredder."
"But...who'll hug me when I'm scared?"
"...Anatawa Hitorijanai," She tells him after a few seconds, crying as well. Leaving her son was the last thing she wanted to do, but she had to...for the Hamato Clan. Some petals fly past as she stands up, pulling away from him.
"Noooo!" He screams, reaching out to grab her, but is stopped by Sho. "No, no, no!" All she can do is listen to him cry as she leaves. "Mommy, please stay..."
Tears fall onto the ground as Splinter is crying.
"Poor little guy...no wonder he turned his back on the Hamato Clan," Raph says sympathetically. He hears sniffling and turns to look at the brunette, and she unconsciously reaches out to her wet face. He blinks in surprise for her reaction. "Mellie...?"
"Sorry..." She wipes her tears with the back of her hand. "It just...reminds me of my mom. And how I had to give up a life to look after her...just like Splinter, I grew up without a maternal figure..." She looks to the ground sadly. Technically speaking, her mom is still alive, but not really there... "And he didn't even have anyone to talk to about it because...he decided to forget."
His eyes soften at her and then he hears more crying, but it's not coming from her. They look to the left to see Splinter appearing, still sobbing. They glance to each other and then look at him. In the time that they've both known him, they've never seen him shed tears. Raph places a hand on his shoulder in comfort as Amy walks around, bending down in front of him.
"I'm so sorry, Master Splinter..." She gestures to herself and then brings him in for a hug. He blinks at the gesture, looking past her to see his mom turning around.
"One day, you will understand the sacrifice I must make as a mom..." She states, shedding a tear. "Be good for your Grandpa Sho. He has much to teach you."
The little boy is just confused, Sho still holding him back. It pained him too, but there was currently no one else...
"I love you," Her voice echoes as she disappears into petals.
"NOOOO!" Yoshi screams both as a child and as a rat, the world behind them turning black and white. The subconscious punches through a building, now 50 feet tall, and the three turtles spin around. Lou's eyes glow before he opens his mouth and releases tiny yellow fists to hit them with.
And they're actually being hurt as the girls watch their bodies being hit.
The subconscious lifts his foot above the three.
"Hey!"
He looks up at the new voice. "Lou!" April is holding her mystic bat while Ann and Lily are prepared to kick him. They all hit him across the face, and he falls backwards into the building. They land in front of the shocked three turtles as they wonder how they got here. "So, who wants to go home?" April holds up the hourglass.
"You think we'd just sit back and let you have all the fun?" Ann grins, causing Raph to smile softly.
"Hey Draxum!" April calls out. "Get us out of here!"
"And hurry!" Lily urges, looking up at the subconscious. April throws down the hourglass and suddenly, they're all back in the real world. All of them fall to the ground except the three girls somehow.
"And ow," Donnie mutters from the floor.
"What happened?" Splinter sits up, tears still on his cheeks. "And who put all these tears in my eyes?!"
Amy and Raph both smile at him. "Guys, we know exactly what we need to do to defeat Shredder! Apparently, there's a weapon in the Twilight Realm!"
"Raph! Raph! Raph!" The others except Draxum jump up and down happily. "Amy! Amy! Amy!"
"Sooo, all we need to do is figure out what the Twilight Realm is, where it is, how to get there, how to get out, how to use the weapon, and probably some other stuff!" Raph grins and the happy looks drop upon hearing this.
"Trust me, this sounds crazy to me too," Amy holds up a hand.
"I am familiar with the Twilight Realm," Draxum speaks up behind the two. "I can help you retrieve the weapon."
"Draxum! Draxum! Draxum!" The others cheer again, even Amy this time.
Draxum creates two orange orbs, snatching them into his hands. He slams down his hands, and orange lightning spreads all the way over to the rink, where a portal opens up. Once it's open, the wind starts sucking in.
"I have located the weapon! It's on the edge of the vortex! You must breach the barrier and grab it!" He shouts over the wind.
"Hot soup!" Splinter declares, running forward.
"Mad Dogs chain up!" Raph shouts as they all grab onto their feet, Draxum at the end. He gets dragged to the opening.
"Hurry! If I don't close this soon, we'll all be swallowed up!"
He can see the weapon, but even with all of them, he still can't reach. "I see something! But I can't quite reach it!"
"Just a little bit further, Pops!" Raph encourages him.
"Almost...almost..." He gets closer and closer. "I...got it!" He grips the weapon with both hands. "Pull me back!"
With all his strength, Draxum pulls them back, but the weapon is stuck inside. With some more effort, they manage to get out a sword, and once they're out, they land in a heap, with Splinter on top. He holds up the sword in triumph, laughing. The others cheer along, but then the sword completely disappears, and in front of them, manifests a woman. She has the Hamato symbol as well, and her face is covered by the hood. She looks at her hands, looking up at the shocked group.
"You fools! What have you done?!"
Before any of them could ask what the shell is going on, purple electricity sparks from her hands, and then it hits her body entirely. The mystery woman falls onto the ground in front of them.
"What is she talking about?" Amy murmurs quietly.
Back at the Foot Shack, the whole place starts shaking, the candles all going out. A screech is heard and the two Foot members fall onto the ground. One candle's flame turns blue, and the others follow. The Shredder's eyes glow and then they spark, turning purple. Foot Recruit looks up in shock as an arm starts to move.
"I AM FREE!" The Shredder actually speaks unlike last time, meaning that he is fully awakened...
He laughs evilly as a burst of purple flames comes out of his mouth, his whole body glowing purple...
