Slowly sailing across the ocean had been a large boat that had blown carefully alongside the waters.

The large vessel had been the same as any, though it had carried aboard it a vast amount of children and their parents. The children had all been running amongst one another. The only outlier had been one who looked out toward the distance with a bored expression.

The boy had brown hair combed downward that would resembled a splatter over his head. He wore a white t-shirt with red lining that would meet at the center to form a dragon. His pants had been a black color with similar red lining that would make a cross over his left leg. His shoes had been a pair of black sneakers with red highlights and white trims.

From behind him came a man of similar features, albeit much older, wearing a white dress shirt alongside a pair of capri pants and sandals.

"What's the matter, sport?"

"Well.. I'm just.. Kinda bored, Dad."

The boy's father quirked a brow, jabbing his finger toward the kids playing behind him. "Why not go play with the others?"

"Nah.. They're all pretty boring. All they talk about is 'Boom! Bam! Natsu this! Boom! Bam! Gajeel that!'.. I'm tired of hearing about Dragon Slayers.. I want to see a real dragon, ya know? Like the ones talked about in all the stories you read me when I was little."

"You still are little." His father would rub his head.

"Dad!" The boy would grab at the hand above, grumbling lightly while his father chuckled.

"Well, Aym.. Maybe one day you'll see one. Never lose hope you know. In a world full of magic like this one, anything could happen."

Aym would look up to his dad, blinking for a moment before turning away. "If you say it like that, it's gotta be true, right?"

Hearing his son's response, the man would smile. "That's the spirit, kiddo."

Patting the boy's back lightly, he would turn his head behind him, seeing a woman with long brown hair that would coil into a braid closer to the front that would outstretch down to her ears that would only release few locks. Her piercing blue eyes would match the color of the sky above while she wore a sundress that had matched the clouds in color with a mainly white form with a light grey gradient toward the edges of her skirt.

"Hey, Mom! Dad said I'd be able to see a dragon one day!"

"Isn't that nice.." His mom chuckled a bit, shrugging it off as her son would jump into her arms for a quick hug before he returned to looking out to the seas beyond.

Behind him, all would continue as normal. His parents had sat down nearby to chat with one another on their plans when they return home. The children continued to play with one another under the sun. The seas continued to kick up waves as it swung along the wind.

After a moment of tranquility, Aym's emerald green eyes would lift up slightly, before becoming wide.

In the sky before him flew a mastodonic creature.

Its entire upper body was covered in black, round, scales decorated by spiraling, blue markings. His lower body, specifically his chin, chest, stomach, inner tail, thighs, and arms, are gray in color, and appear to be rather smooth. Its eyes were a pair of small white beads on its round, blunt head with four, large, elongated plates extending backward, while attached to his chin was a protrusion that resembled an arrowhead. Its large wings carried a feather pattern to them that curved at the ends, the color pattern from the main body present. The end of its tail carried none of the blue markings, though had a stinger-esque shape to it.

The boy was able to easily distinguish what the figure above had been, taking in a deep breathe.

"IT'S A DRAGOOOOOOON!"

On the cue of his shout, it would arch its head back, firing a beam of blue light just past them. The beam would trace along a wave just a few kilometers near them, causing a large explosion that would nearly tip the entire ship over.

Now the peace was disturbed by complete and utter panic, the children all running to get inside as the adults would command as Aym would look with astonishment as a platoon of dragons of many different colors would fly out from an island just beyond his view that would come to battle against the first.

"Aym! Come on!" His parents would quickly pick the excited boy up from where he perched himself and carried him toward the innards of the ship, aiming to take refuge with the rest.

...

Aym laid on the ground, coughing as he crawled across a shore. He would look around, seeing unconscious figures all around. Lifting his head, he would notice a man had been standing over him.

He wore a black cloak that hung over his body, nearly completely concealing the silver armor he wore beneath with a purple undersuit. He had a muscular figure, though his face and hair showed that he had long fell victim to age.

As he took another look around, he would notice similar figures, though of both sexes, standing over the other unconscious children in a similar manner.

"Who.. Who are you..?" He would attempt to stand from the ground, but ached at the mere attempt. "Where.. Where are my parents..?"

The man would look down slightly, releasing a breath.

"I am sorry.." He would then raise his hand slowly. "I know it is cruel for me to ask this of you despite what you've endured, but.. I do hope you come to understand one day."

"Huh-"

With a flash, the man had blinked from existence, Aym's eyes widening as he felt his heart pounding heavily. He would look down toward what had been behind him, noticing a bright golden light in the distance and the dragon he first saw flying above it.

As his eyes slowly came to close, they would darken to a greyish variant.

"Let's get started!"

Following the voice that echoed far, an eruption of black aura riddled with slight hints of grey would burst from the center of a small harbor town that spread over the coast.

The source of the burst had been a boy with spiked brown hair that had been combed upward, though had come to curl downwards to form a few bangs to match the unruly twists at the top. Under the bangs were a pair of greyish green eyes which carried a pair of slit pupils within the irises.

He wore a black, leather jacket with a blue cross design intersecting over his left chest, it having dirty blonde fur trimmings along the hood which would carry a pair of dog ears at its top with similar fur trimmings; the sleeves had been rolled up to show his forearms and red armbands. Under his jacket was a white shirt that had been unbuttoned at the top to reveal his chest which carried a black symbol that resembled a woman without arms on the upper half and a long tail which curved inward at its bottom for the lower. Around his waist was a dark violet sash that went over the beltline of his maroon pants with gold stripes down the sides which fit into the bottom's black trims. His shoes were a pair of black main coloring with purple highlights and red trims.

This had been Aym Malandrake, though 7 years older.

Standing parallel to him was a petite girl with amaranth hair tied into two short pigtails with a pair of long orange bows, matched with a pair of large cerulean eyes.

She wore a pale blue mini skirt, a pink, sleeveless top with a dark blue center and a folded collar with yet another orange ribbon tied around it and a heart emblem on her left breast and an "X" on her right. She also wore short white gloves coupled with orange wristbands, on top of a longer pink fabric that reached her upper arms and was kept in place by armbands that matched the ones on her wrists. For hosiery, she had long black stockings and white leg-warmers atop black shoes.

She would then let out a huff, clutching her fists as her body would erupt in swirls of black crudely mixed with hints of white that would cut against the ground briefly.

The two's auras would parallel one another before the male would kick off the ground, propelling himself into the air.

"Hope you're ready for this one!"

Aym would arch his fist back as the aura would transfer to surround his fist as he threw it down toward the girl, who would raise her hand to block the attack. Grinning at the gesture, the former would flex his arm lightly and send off a burst of black energy that would throw the latter's arm back slightly.

She would make to spin just before he landed to gather some wind around her fingers, it becoming black once reaching her side as she threw it forward in the form of a saucer blade. Aym would quickly swing his right arm upward, forming a claw of black energy with his hand that would cut through it as a knife would butter.

In the brief second after the blade was cut, the girl would blur in front of him, the boy being forced to guard against a powerful high-rise kick that would strike at his crossed forearms directly, sending off a gust of black wind that would cut against the pavement below and form tremors in the well nearby.

Aym would break his arms from one another as she charged forward, her hands gathering swirls of black that she would palm thrust forward. Aym, being able to dodge the attacks easily, would raise his arm, gathering black energy around his elbow and slamming it into her jaw. The attack would send her hurtling toward a tree nearby that would rattle heavily from the impact.

The girl would shake her head as a few leaves would gently rest upon her hair, causing her to pout.

"Ugh! I just got back from a concert, you know!"

"..and the first thing you do after said concert is pick a fight with me, Chelia." Aym would pop his neck. "From that point forward, anything that happened was on you."

"GRAAH!" Chelia's response was a wave of her arms and a huff. Afterwards, she would stance once again, clutching her fists as a mass of black wind would gather in her hands. "I have a reason for that!"

"..oh brother." Aym had already been well aware of that reason.

Though, he was well aware that she was going to continue fighting just for the sake of it, so he decided to play along.

Throwing his fist forward, his would clash with Chelia's, the slam following causing the black to disperse around them in the form of small particles as they continued to trade punches and kicks toward one another. With a stomp, Aym would throw an uppercut into Chelia's jaw, which would throw her head upward. His next action would be to quickly throw his fist forward, striking her gut.

After the recoil, she would spin, throwing a kick toward his side. He would grit his teeth, moving to the side a bit as he would chop toward the top of her head. Raising her hands, she would catch the attack, throwing her arms upward and slamming them down onto Aym's shoulders.

Throwing his body upwards after dropping briefly, he would send her arms off him, before punching toward Chelia's forehead and sending her head back. This kept her busy for only a brief moment as she would throw her head forward and bash it against his.

Grunting as he stepped back, the both of them would be left holding their heads from the pain resulting from the clash.

"Are you two done now?"

The two would then turn, seeing another male. He had a geyser of bluish silver hair that would curve toward the left at the front to form a set of bangs. These bangs would pass over one of his two brown eyes.

He wore a short, blue, high-collared tunic that had white around the cuffs, with the collar parting to either side around his neck. It had been topped with a darker mantle with jagged edges that had the same yellow trims as the tunic he wore. Under the blue was a pair of black pants with dark grey sashes around the thighs that would match his boots in color, though the latter had white cuffs around the top to match with the tunic.

"Lyon." Aym would lower his hands, straightening his position. Chelia would follow in suit next to him.

The older male would then sigh in relief. "Well. Normally you two just carry on."

"This one isn't serious." Aym would quickly fill the blanks in Lyon's mind.

"This is serious!" Chelia would puff her cheek.

Lyon would then lightly chuckle, placing his hands on either hip. "Well, anyway. I've come to inform you that the next Triad Quest between the three Guilds has just been approved."

"Really? Alright!" Aym would throw his arm upward in a cheer. "That's awesome! It beats sitting around here doing nothing!"

As Aym began to walk past Lyon, the latter grabbed him by the back of his collar. As he noted a friction at his back, Aym would turn his head around, a brow quipping.

"Hold it." Lyon would turn his head toward him. "Now, Aym. There are special terms to this quest that you have to follow, and a special condition that must be considered at all times whilst you're on this quest. Understand?"

"Ah-" Aym, realizing what Lyon had been referring to. He hadn't had quite the record of following along with the rules when it came to these types of jobs. Although, if their friends needed the money (and in Fairy Tail's current state, yes they did) then he would comply. "Yes.." He would sweatdrop.

This quickly became a scowl once he heard the light giggles that came from Chelia's direction, the girl turned away a slight bit in attempts to conceal her amused face.

"You too, Chelia."

Hearing this brought a chuckle to Aym, who would clearly show his smug expression toward the other. The girl would narrow her eyes toward him, but let the mood drop as they would both give Lyon a nod.

"Alright, then. Follow me." With a gesture of his hand, the two would follow after Lyon.

As they walked, they would in short time come across a large castle-esque building with many intricate pale blue trimmings along the edges, and a pale green on the inner walls, matching the mark on the white banner that matched the one on Aym's chest, albeit green, that hung just over a sign that read Lamia Scale.

"Wonder what awaits today!" Aym would grin widely, following Lyon toward the building.

"I just can't wait to see my beloved~" Chelia would have a bright smile on her face, placing her hands on either cheek as she too followed after Lyon.

After making the climb up the steps, the three would enter into the building.

Lamia Scale
Chapter 1 : A Triad Quest!... Larger Than The Rest?!

In another port city, a boy had been staring off into the distance, his fists tightly clenched.

Over his head was a mop of straight, dark purple hair that had a few strands combed upward towards the top. He wore a long, maroon, sleeveless open jacket with white edges. In its core, the jacket would have revealed his toned torso's front, had it not been for the large orange scarf concealing most of it, only leaving his abs to be seen clearly. His legs were covered by a pair of loose, green pants reaching down below his knees which carried lime edges. Holding the pants at his waist was a pale cyan sash, tied into a knot on his left hip. To match with the large orange scarf around his neck was a pair of light brown boots.

"How long are you going to stare at the sea?" From behind him, a woman placed her hand on her hip.

"Come on, a new job has been approved. Let's head back to the guildhall." A male voice came from next to the woman.

Despite their calls, the boy would not answer, his eyes locked on the grand sea that led beyond.

The male would give a sigh.

"Come on now.." The woman would click her boots together before straightening her stance.

"If we don't get back soon, your dad's going to get worried."

"Macao asked us to come get you for the new quest, Romeo."

The woman had long green hair that would nearly touch the end of her back, a curvaceous figure and red lipstick over her lips. She wore a yellow bikini top with dark chocolate horizontal stripes and edges below an open, red, button-up vest. A similarly colored skirt though in the opposite scheme would hang just over her thighs, conjunct pair of high-heeled boots that would reach halfway up her calf to clothe her lower body. Around her biceps were a pair of bands that would be decorated with a set of strands evenly spread over her arm to act as half short sleeves. Atop her head was a red cowgirl-style hat that would curve upward towards the edges, the black striped around the top lined with gold studs.

The other male had a short spur of spiked, black hair that would leave only a single bang between his identically colored eyes. On either ear was a gold earring with blue tassels in different shades hanging down to nearly align with his lips. He wore a dark brown poncho over the maroon shirt beneath with an upturned collar. Below these were a pair of khaki pants held up by a black belt with a silver, sunflower buckle, which neatly sat atop his brown shoes.

"..right." Romeo would look down slightly, a frown appearing over his previously blank face.

"Romeo.." The woman would step forward, but the man would raise his hand.

"..no, Bisca." It was all he spoke with his words, giving the rest of the message with a shake of his head.

...

In another town, Magnolia to be exact, there had been what seemed to be a barn house standing.. Well, slightly tilted. Below the windmill at its top was a pair of symbols that resembled a pixie, though it had an extra curve at the end of it, making it seem as though it had a tail. Below that was a sign that read Fairy Tail.

"Are you sure Romeo is the one we want to be sending out on this quest, Macao?"

"I'm sure, Wakaba. Besides, if anything were to happen, he's not alone. Plus, the Magic Council would definitely get involved in this one if such were the case."

The two conversing had been a male with combed back indigo hair. He donned a long, white long coat with dark blue edges drawing into the large and high collar that matched the cuffs. Beneath the coat was a pale indigo vest buttoned over a black shirt that's collar would circle around the top of his neck, just barely avoiding his jaw. He wore a pair of midnight green plain pants held up by a white belt with a gold buckle, which sat over his black shoes.

The other had combed back brown hair that had a single cluster of hair pointing upward at the top. His attire consisted of a dark green coat that had blonde fur lined along the edges and around the cuffs. Under the coat was a yellow shirt with orange plaid stripes and an upturned collar, which opened to give a glimpse of the black shirt beneath. Held up by a black belt with a gold buckle was a pair of duck blue pants, paralleled in tone by the black shoes beneath.

The indigo haired man, Macao would rub his temple. "Anyway.. Where the hell are they? Alzack and Bisca didn't take off to have a makeout session, did they?!"

"'Ey, 'ey. You're startin' to get all irrational again. Calm down a bit, wouldya, Macao?"

Macao would twitch his brow to Wakaba's response, "That's Master Macao!"

"Ain't no way in hell I'm callin' you Master with that kinda attitude!"

Lamia Scale Guildhall

Sitting at a table to the side within a large room had been a girl who had been humming to herself, swaying to either side.

She was wearing a black vest top with purple trims and a matching skirt. Added onto the skirt was a set of white jags over the top that carried the same pink trimming, spread evenly over her waist The vest sported a collar fit with a black tie with pink stripes reaching only to her mid-chest. Aside from a pink cloth band clasped tightly above her navel, her stomach and the under-inside portion of her breasts were left exposed. Atop her long amaranth hair she wore a dark hairband with points designed after cat ears, which matched the long black gloves that would reach end at her biceps.

"Love is a wonderful thing.." She would mutter to herself as she had been writing on a paper.

As Aym, Chelia, and Lyon entered, they would all scan over the area they've grown familiar to over the course of time.

Once Lyon found his intended target, he would open his mouth, "Jura, they're here." Lyon would call out to the other side of the hall, where a man stood with a bright smile.

"Oh, wonderful!"

Approaching the group had been a bald man with a curly beard that would touch down toward the center of his chest in a waving pattern. He wore a white kimono that carried a pattern of squares connected by lines colored brown at its edges, beneath a pitch black haori with similar pattern though white in color. In the center of the kimono he wore a light grey sash that matched with the bottom of his kimono. On his feet were a pair of white tabi fitted into a pair of tawny geta.

With a raise of his hand, the group would offer a nod to his presence.

"Well, if what I'm hoping is correct, Fairy Tail's representatives should be on their way to the clientele as we speak."

"Wait. Representatives? I thought it was just gonna be Romeo?" Aym tilted his head, placing a hand on his hip.

"The quest you're about to embark on is too high a class for you all to go without experienced members." The group would turn at the presence of two.

The first had been a rather tall man who wore an open black ski jacket which carried a cross on either shoulder and had white fur lining along the edges. Under this jacket was a grey shirt with a silver chestplate that formed a cone around his lower neck. Briefly seen beneath the sleeves of the jacket were a pair of silver gauntlets that would end at the back of his hands. On his lower body was a pair of black tights fitted with silver armor over the knee caps and around his calves, fitted with a pair of black shoes. Holding up his long silver hair in a geyser was a black sash around his forehead that paralleled his bright green eyes.

Next to him was a girl with similarly green eyes, though at a more average height with pitch black hair dressed in a pony tail that curved upwards before raining down to the back of her neck. She wore a red jacket with intricate stained glass-like patterns outlined in black. This same pattern followed on the dress beneath, although it had actually been colored like stain glass, but with a white outline. On her feet were a pair of thigh high black boots with red trims and silver diamond designs on either side, the heels giving her a little bit more height. For accessory, a pair of diamond earrings that would match the ring on her left hand.

In her arms was a small, slightly anthropomorphic, dog that would wiggle to either side as she rubbed his stomach gently. He had been a black furred dog with slight patches of white fur over its stomach up to lower jaw, paws, and the tips of his ears and tail. Over its torso it wore a white jacket with red lining that formed stained glass patterns, much like the jacket of the girl holding him.

Its large beady blue eyes would then spring open as it had been finished basking in its rubs, leaping from her hands and onto its feet.

"Amelia.." Chelia acknowledged the girl in luxurious fashion with a low groan.

"Chelia." Amelia rolled her eyes, turning her head away slightly.

The dog would jog over to Aym, stopping and blinking for a minute. "Hup.." Preparing himself, it would crouch briefly, waving its arms up and down. "Toh!" With a kick off the ground, he would jump upward, a spring of light emitting from his back and forming a pair of black feathered wings, of which he would use to fly around and onto his shoulder.

"Wooh. Made it." The dog would wipe his forehead with a light chuckle.

"But.." Aym would sweatdrop. "I wasn't going anywhere, though."

The dog would then blink, before patting his head lightly. "I think you're right. I don't know for sure. But I think you're right."

"Gunther.."

The others present would chuckle lightly.

Though, the chuckle would be brought to a halt once Jura cleared his throat.

"Aym, accompanying you on this quest will be Chelia, Amelia, and Aluga."

Aym, hearing what he had been presented with, had sighed. "What're we bringin' Chelia for..? It's not like she'll be much help."

"Huh?! What do you mean I won't be much help? I can fight you to a draw easily!"

"Exactly. A draw. Means I'm plenty."

"Means you're cocky! Plus, I always go with you!"

The two would continue to bicker, much to the chagrin of the others. Lyon would simply turn away, rubbing his temple with a slight chuckle. Aluga would reach his hand upward, straightening his headband slightly. Amelia's brow would begin to twitch as the two arguing began to increase in volume.

Jura would then release his hand in a chop between the two, restoring tranquility within the hall instantaneously.

"I know you have your quarrels with the conditions of this quest.. Although, I believe you will understand once I explain."

Standing next to a large carriage was a man with cocoa brown hair that would droop over his head to either side, aligning with the chin hair that grazed over his jawline.

The man wore a plain, brown vest adorned with a pattern composed of countless white, minuscule circles. Under the vest was a black shirt that's sleeves were rolled up to just above his elbows, matching with the black belt that held up his beige pants. Protecting his feet were a pair of taupe shoes.

"Man.. This is the biggest quest Fairy Tail's gotten into since the whole Oración Seis business.." The male rubbed the back of his head.

"Yoohoo~! Max!"

The man turned at the call of his name, seeing a woman approaching with Aluga, Amelia, Aym, Chelia, Gunther, Romeo, and two others, one of which Max didn't recognize.

The woman had been slim, young, and average height. Her blue eyes would pierce through the mass of blonde hair that had been tied up into a massive, curly ponytail that would reach toward her middle back, leaving only a few large stands to make bangs, one of which holding up a rose hairpin over the right side of her head. Over her collarbone was a gold necklace that matched with the bracelet on her right wrist and pair of golden rings on her left. Over her body in its majority was a long, strapless, light purple dress tattered with golden sparkles that opened over her left leg, revealing a white skirt beneath that would hang loosely under the dress, matching with the pale khaki sash around her waist. To top it off, she wore a pair of pink high-heels for footwear.

The second had been a male who wore a blue coat that had been buttoned at the center to form an X shape over the white shirt beneath that's collar folded over the straps of a black tie with purple magic rune designs patterned in stripes on its front. The coat was lined with gold at the edges and white highlights. Concealing his collarbone was a white scarf lined with the same pattern as the tie, which would match with his white gloves with black finger sleeves. On his bottom were a pair of grey pants that graded into black below the knees, fitting carefully into the black shoes with blue trims. Across his chest had been the strap of the bag he held by his side, which would just barely reveal two books within, one's cover being silver.

The one Max hadn't been able to recognize was a slender girl of similar height to Chelia and Aym with amber-colored eyes. She had brown hair which seemed short due to the rest of her long hair being tightly wrapped in a long, tube-like, hot pink hairtie while her forehead was framed by several bangs.

Her outfit was reminiscent of the traditional Indian sari designed with a primarily scarlet color scheme while framed around the side with a pattern of white, khaki and orange and a white choli worn underneath. For accessory, she had been adorned with jewelry such as golden bangles around both of her wrists, gold brassards worn around her biceps as well as gold anklets just above the feet supported by brown sandals..

"Jenny, whose this?" Max would place a hand on his hip.

"Well, this is-" Jenny would raise her hand toward the girl, about to introduce her before another voice would speak first.

"She is the Phoenix Priestess of the Fire Village, Éclair." They would both turn, seeing a man in knightly armor with glasses. They all recognized him as Lahar of the Magic Council.

"Phoenix Priestess?" Max would quip a brow.

The unnamed male would then straighten his tie before speaking, "It is said that across Fiore, there are villages that specifically embrace the olden spirits that embodied the elements, thus naming their villages and basing their traditions around them." He would turn his head toward Éclair. "And every century, they choose a woman who is descendant of the last to become the Phoenix Priestess, thus becoming guardian of the Phoenix's blood and being tasked to deliver it to Rose Garden for containment."

"Correct." Lahar would nod.

"Jeez.. Do you always have to be such a know it all, Luko?" Aym would place a hand on his hip, looking toward the gloved boy.

"You define it as you wish. I simply enjoy understanding a situation before diving into it." He would turn his attention back to Lahar, who had been patiently awaiting their chatter to cease.

"The Magic Council itself is paying all of you on this quest. Escort Éclair to Rose Garden and guard her with your lives. She is a piece of this continent's history, which must not be tarnished."

"Right." The mages present would answer.

As Lahar walked off toward his horse which they hadn't noticed a few meters beyond, Éclair would cross her arms over a golden cup-shaped container that had been sealed tightly with a mass of silver locks.

"..why did they have to put me into this..? I hate mages.."

She would sigh, walking into the carriage.

Max, noticing her tone, would then give a nervous chuckle. This was going to be a long ride.

"Well, everybody, let's load 'er up. Best get movin' while the sun's still up." The mage would order, the others following through as told.

All except Aym, who would gulp while staring at the cart blankly.

"Hm? What's with him?" Éclair would question.

"Oh, he just gets motion sickness." Chelia would wave off any worries the priestess may have had.

"Worry not.." Reaching to his side, Luko would extract the silver book from his bag, pulling from his coat pocket a pen. "I will deal with this problem." Opening the book, the book would turn its own pages to a page towards the end.

Scanning his eyes over the seemingly blank page, he would write along certain areas of the page, which the writing would have a brief purple glow to it before becoming white.

"Pura. Salutem. Raeda." Reading off what he wrote, the letters would soon fly off the page, floating toward Aym and rotating around him. "Decretum: Your Health Shall Be Pure On This Carriage."

With the command, the letters would enter Aym's body, briefly radiating it in a purple glow.

"Alright!"

He would then hop onto the carriage with a grin.

Max, at the front of the carriage next to Jenny, would grin lightly. "Reminds me more and more of Natsu."

At the mention of his old friend's name.. His face drooped slightly.

Jenny would look to him briefly, a solemn expression beginning to form over her face. To prevent such a fate, she faced forward. "Come on, Max. We've got a job to do."

Hearing his fellow mage's words, he would raise his head. "Right." Clipping a latch onto his wrist, he would grab onto the steering wheel before him and the carriage begun its move forward.

〘 Gunther's Advice! 〙

If you're ever going on a trip through a country as large as Fiore, it's best that you remember to bring at least 1 buddy with ya!

Macao would sigh, setting his beer mug down and hanging his head.

"Where did it go wrong.."

Lyon and Jura would both look to Macao with a solemn expression. They would both look to one another silently. Despite this silence, they both knew what the other was thinking.

Lyon returned his attention to Macao, arising from his seat and placing a hand on the man's shoulder.

"I know this is a difficult time.. But just know that we of Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus will be here to support you however long we need."

Macao would lift his head to return Lyon's attention in kind. "Thank you for that.."

"Aww.. Isn't that sweet.."

All those present within the guildhall would then direct their attention to the door, where they saw a group of five who all were in ununiform physique, clothing, and posture.

The most prominent, who had an afro that would fray to either side, would lean his head forward with a sadistic grin, "Well, well, well, Mr. Ma~ca~o~ Looks like you're just sittin' around with your beer and it's already the afternoon!" He would then lean backward to laugh. "God, I hate weak-ass guilds!"

"Thibault..!" Wakaba would click his teeth in annoyance as he glared toward them.

"You said you weren't going to come here anymore." Macao narrowed his eyes.

"Yeah.. But that was after you said you were going to pay your dues.. Now look where we are!" Thibault's grin only widened. "Twilight Ogre's Magnolia's strongest guild, ya know.." He would raise his hand from his pockets, rubbing his ear. "Can't just have ya scapegoatin' off us, even if you're a bunch of sorry losers now."

A male in mainly green and white with a spike in his mostly smooth black hair would then growl, "Strongest guild, my ass! Just because you're what the kids like nowadays doesn't mean anything!"

"Oh..? Is that right?" He would chuckle lightly, "That's rich coming from the guild that's only been decreasing in members for the last 7 years."

"Pardon me." Jura would place his hands together, attempting to bring order to the tension. "What is it you are here for, Thibault?"

"Oh, Saint Jura.. Well, we're... Here for the money for this month. Fork it over, Fairy Tail!"

Macao, almost having been predicting such an answer, had looked down with a grit of his teeth.

"You haven't paid it yet, Macao?!" Hearing Wakaba's quick-witted response would cause a twitch of Macao's brow.

"Hey! You're supposed to be callin' me Master here!" He then looked toward Thibault. "We don't have the money yet. But right now we have our members on a quest that should pay worth both months, so just wait until the end of next month, alright?!"

"Hoo.. What's with the attitude..? Have you forgotten who saved who from bankruptcy?" The man next to Thibault would have a similar grin. "Remember all those debts you stacked up? Whose to thank for them all being gone?"

"We wouldn't have looked to you guys if we knew your interest rates were ridiculously high!" A male with orange hair tied into a ponytail barked back.

"What was that?!" The man on the far left shouted.

"Pipe down, Jet!" Macao would throw his hand out, already knowing that the orange haired male was in a fighting stance.

"But-"

"Listen. Just come back at the end of next month.." Macao would lower his hand, his brows furrowing as a sign of his frustration, "..and you'll get your money."

A moment of silence followed. All within seemed to have their eyes focused on the members of Twilight Ogre, anxious of how they would respond.

Thibault clicked his teeth in annoyance.

As they would have expected, the man raised his foot, striking Macao clean in the jaw and sending him flying back into the table he had previously been sitting behind.

"Macao!" Wakaba would call.

The rest would simply glare toward the Twilight Ogre members, who would be chuckling amongst one another.

"Huh. So weak." Thibault would pop his neck. "How could a weak-ass master whose so weak-ass it took a single kick to send his weak ass flyin' through this weak-ass guildhall run by a weak-ass guild be tryin' to tell me what to do?"

A growl could be heard from the other members in response to Thibault's action.

However, the tension came to a halt once Jura stepped forward, who noticed even Lyon was prepared to take action against the Midnight Ogre members.

"I believe you've made your point." He would narrow his eyes, clearly showing no approval of Thibault's actions.

"..tch!" The five would then turn away. "Don't forget! Next month!"

Jura, having watched the group leave, would huff in dissatisfaction. "The new era is quite rude, no?" He would turn toward the remnant members of Fairy Tail, who all had solemn expressions over their faces.

"Rude is an understatement." Lyon would cross his arms. "Letting them leave without a scratch left a foul taste in my mouth."

"Now, Lyon. Striking against them would be a grave offense. It could risk the Guild." Jura would pin his eyes on his guildmate, who slumped his shoulders a bit.

"I know." After giving some consideration, Lyon knew well of what Jura had expressed.

At the sound of a boot clicking the floorboard toward the door, everyone's attention would raise toward the source of the sound.

"I thought we just agree-" Macao's brows would then furrow.

Lyon would narrow his eyes toward the figure at the door, Jura following in suit.

Gunther would be running in a circle in the middle of the carriage, Amelia and Aym spectating. Romeo had been chattering lightly with Luko while trying to ignore Chelia, who pressed on about the meaning of love and how it was what defined the phenomenon she felt around him.

"Romeo~ You can't deny the embers of love lighting within you~ Doesn't my presence just make your heart flutter as yours does mine~?"

"No." Romeo would deadpan, finding Chelia's stubbornness a bit annoying. "It was one fight. I just happened to win. Not any reason for these embers of love or whatever to ignite within you."

"Oh, you underestimate love because you don't understand it, Romeo." She would turn to the side, placing a hand on either cheek as she swayed to either side. "But I'll be delighted to teach you~"

"Hey, windy. Pipe down." Amelia would shoot a glare toward the lover girl's direction, who would swing her head around and return the glare in kind.

"Why are you interrupting a tender moment between me and my Romeo?!" Her teeth would be grinding, and if Romeo hadn't known any better, he would say the breeze was beginning to pick up.

"Tender? Hardly." Amelia would cross her arms. "Nice to know that Ms. Idol can't keep her hands to herself and simply swarms what she wants like the paparazzi."

The first strike was to interfere with her and Romeo's bonding. Now, she was taking a jab at her directly. Chelia would grit her teeth further as her hand raised, the growing wind beginning to accumulate at her fingertips in the form of black swirling rings.

"Ok. If that's how you're going to play i-"

Something grabbing her wrist was enough to stop the girl from doing what she had been about to. That something had been Romeo's hand.

The Fairy Tail mage would look toward Chelia with low brows. "Listen, Chelia. We're on a moving carriage with an important person on it, ok? Please don't blow us up. ... Again."

On Chelia's end of the conversation, she only registered that she and Romeo's arms were intersecting. It was.. A spectacle to look upon. Not even Lyon would give her this much attention. Thinking it over more, the two were on a moving carriage.. Heading off to likely, well who knows, how many cities.

Lifting her head slightly, a mischievous grin would form on her face. This had been followed by a small snicker as she shifted her hand to make it so it was interlocked in Romeo's own.

Romeo, noticing this, would sweatdrop, attempting to let go. Though, as he could predict, Chelia had refused to do the same, her grip seeming to tighten thanks to the action.

After a moment's passing, her snicker would evolve into a giggle as her swayed to either side. "Ah~ Me and my Romeo are holding hands~!" She placed her other hand on her cheek. "What could be next? A date? But where to..? A restaraunt? An amusement park? Oh, I could only imagine!"

"Uh huh.. That's all well and great Chelia, but.." Romeo would grunt slightly, still trying to draw his hand from the iron wall which had been hers. "Could you let go of my hand?"

"But why would I ever do that~" Chelia would grin widely, pulling herself onto Romeo's shoulder and rubbing her head against it lightly. "Then you'd get away~"

"I actually wouldn't mind that-" Romeo would quietly remark, though it was deafened by the grunt following from Chelia tightening her grip further.

"Are they usually like that?" Éclair would question, quirking a brow toward Luko. The male would answer with a tap on his tie, "Well, ever since a few months ago, yes."

"It's a shame, really." Amelia would sigh, placing her chin in her palm, which the arm it belonged to arched on her knee. "She was a lot more tame beforehand."

Aym, noticing the hostility hidden behind her phrasing, he would look to Amelia with a slight frown. "You shouldn't say things like that, Amele. Remember back when Chelia-"

Amelia, already aware of what Aym was aiming to say, would raise her hand, waving her finger lightly. "I said beforehand, didn't I?"

This hadn't satisfied Aym, however, who felt that the two should just hurry up and make up already. It wasn't as annoying as Chelia trying to fight him for information whenever she had been in a slump in her attempts to woo Romeo's heart, but it was rather annoying.

Éclair would then turn her attention to Aluga, who had been quietly sitting near the window with his hand outstretched. As award to his patience, a small yellow bird would float down, perching itself upon his finger. Once having done so, with a brief shake, it would lower a bit, partaking in its welcome.

"Curious about Aluga?" The sound of Aym's voice cut Éclair out of her train of thought. Though she was more focused on the bird on his finger, she could see why he had mistaken it for her attention being on the person the finger belonged to.

"The mages I've encountered prior to coming into the guise of the Magic Council were.. All unbearably selfish. They sook nothing but power and those worth showcasing that power to." Éclair would look to the cup in her hand, tightening her grasp on it.

"Hmm.. Wish I coulda been there. I mighta been able to beat 'em up for ya." Aym would raise his hand, punching into it briefly with a grin.

"Be that as it may, I wouldn't have appreciated your help." Éclair would turn away. "The damage has already been done."

Hearing the distant answer she gave, he would sigh. "You know, you should learn to take advantage of others' kindness more often."

Max, who had been driving the carriage, would chuckle at the statement he heard Aym say. "I remember back when Aym first came along with Lamia Scale to visit Fairy Tail. Back then, he'd never have said something like that."

"Oh? Well, I suppose I've only known him for about a year and a half now." Unlike Max, Jenny had primarily been tending to her status quo of the fashion model, working for many magazine studios such as Sorcerer Weekly. Thus, she had far less availability for guild work and such.

Half a year ago, however, there was a change in her schedule that moved her to Sorcerer Yearly due to her presence in the magazine getting such high demand, which allowed for her to be around the guild more often.

"So, I know you haven't been in much contact with Blue Pegasus lately, but.. Has Hibiki ever mentioned anyone whenever you were?"

Jenny's face grew somber when she received no reply. Though, she couldn't help but notice that Max had been unusually silent, even to the degree of holding his breath.

"Max?" She would look up toward the man, who had his eyes narrowed out toward the distance.

With a click of his teeth, he would raise a hand from the steering wheel, clenching it into a fist. "Sand Dome!" After the chant, sand would burst out from his clutched hand, spreading quickly and forming a circular barrier over the carriage.

Jenny, who had been completely oblivious to why Max would set such precautions so suddenly, decided to voice her confusion, "Max, what's going o-"

A bolt of turquoise lightning coated in red would then strike at the dome, shattering it with ease as it would spark throughout its parts. The force of the blow had been enough to rattle the carriage and throw those inside around briefly before regaining its balance with a thud against the ground.

Fire Village

The beating of a drum could be heard as a mass of feet would be lightly tapping against the ground.

Soon after, a bagpipe would begin to play, followed by a large ember being lit on either side of a wide spread of sandy terrain that several women and children bouncing as they swayed their arms to either side. They would all be traversing in a circle with a bright smile in their face as within the crowd, many began to blow into their bansuri, adding their own into the song.

As those gathered in the circle would continue, the music would heighten in pace, around them flying orange orbs that would shine brightly in the darkness, blooming into the shape of flowers as they spun in mid-air alongside them.

Soon enough, all in the crowd would clap along if they lacked an instrument, swaying to either side with a light bounce.

Soon, the flowers petals would scatter, forming little birds with one another that would fly around those in the center, lighting their smiles as they would continue their dance.

After the celebration had concluded, the people would all gather in a swarm, cheering for the event's success.

One girl in particular, who resembled Éclair greatly, though much shorter, had a bright smile on her face as she looked toward those gathered together.

The village chief would soon rise, granting himself the attention of all the crowd. Raising his hand softly, he would reveal within his hand a blue stone that would glisten slightly in the moonlight.

As it glistened, they would all look up with wide eyes to see a large hologram of what looked to be a bird made completely from flame. As it spread its wings outward, the crowd would all cheer gleefully.

The village chief would smile as he saw them. He would then look to the stone, his smile lowering slightly.

"Éclair.. I am sorry."

Then, his eyes widened.

The cheers came to an abrupt pause. A mass of strings seemed to have broken from within the confines of the sky.

Before the people could react, their bodies would all drop down to the floor, a pressure unlike any other they had ever felt prior weighing heavily on them. They would attempt to lift their heads to get a glimpse of what had been coming, but the pressure only grew heavier.

What had been coming from before was a large metal cylinder that had been dropping at high speeds. Due to these speeds, flames would begin to amass around it as it approached them.

The village chief would grunt, trying to lift his hand. As he did, the stone inside of it would glow brightly, the firebird hologram flying upward and glowing a bright orange as it attempted to collide with the falling cylinder.

As they crashed into each other, a burst of metal shards and flame had been produced, the two pushing against one another.

The villagers had all cheered for their chief, who had attempted all he could to keep his hand raised despite the heavy force over them.

"Gravity Dragon's Heavy Song: Second Verse."

His efforts were proven futile as the force had grown twice as heavy, slamming his hand down hard. To the villager's dismay, the firebird suffered from such as well, being disintegrated at the force of the metal cylinder falling above them.

Once crashing into the ground, a brief wave of light emanated from the site before a massive explosion would encompass the entire area and a large area surrounding it.

As the smoke cleared, it had been revealed that there were two that stood upon a metal slab floating in mid-air.

They both wore heavy yale blue cloaks with silver trims. On the back of their cloaks was a large symbol that resembled a tiger with its mouth open to reveal its large fangs.

The first had a smug grin on his face, while the second would have a childish smile as he placed his hand over his head looking down toward the destruction.

"Woooahhh! It really blew them up!" The childish boy would exclaim.

The first, scoffing a bit, would turn away from the calamity, the slab beginning to fly them off into the distance.

"Of course it did, it was simply their fate once we were hired."

"Yeah.. I wish they coulda fought back at least a little more, ya know?" The childish boy would crouch, placing a hand on his chin. Though, after a moment of thinking, he would shrug and stand back up. "But, oh well, least we got to kill something this time."

"My, my. What a dangerous child you are, Hiku."

Hiku would look to his partner with a blank expression, before it became an unsettlingly sweet smile.

"Hehe."

His partner would only offer his smug grin as he looked forward.

The slab would float forward a few miles longer. It would seem the two would both be conversating on the events prior.

Though, suddenly, Hiku's partner would drop to a knee, clutching his chest tightly.

"Hm? What's wrong, Tetsu?"

"Grgh.. I can sense it.." Tetsu would reply, breathing heavily as a bead of sweat would drop from his chin.

"Sense what..?" The boy next to him would tilt his head lightly.

After taking a few breathes, the male would raise their head lightly, looking upward as his hood fell off to reveal his curly brown hair floating in the wind.

"A phoenix has taken flight."

Phew. Well, here's the kickstarter for the series. Hopefully it's a good enough place to really start.
The first few arcs are going to be based off of the majority of the non-canon material presented in the gap between X791 Intro and the Grand Magic Games. And so, the first arc is based on the film The Phoenix Priestess which features a plotline and magic archetype created from ideas stemmed from said film.
I know this one is short (and I mean short) compared to how my first chapters have been in most recent stories, but that's because I didn't want to throw in too much since it was the first chapter. Gave a brief glimpse of Chelia and Aym in action at the start and a slimmer of Aym's backstory. The character interaction will definitely be at its briefest in this chapter, I promise. I just wanted to keep this as short and sweet as I could without it being too short or too long. (Even though somewhere in me it feels a teensy bit short. Oh, well. I can fix that later on.)
Oh, right, and just so I have it in my notes for the future, lemme know in the Review Box what you guys want the Teams for Sabertooth, Fairy Tail A, Fairy Tail B, Blue Pegasus, and Lamia Scale to look like, since we've got new characters that will be in those Guilds (only 1 in one of the Guild's cases). Of course, that does mean battles too if you guys as a collective ultimately decide for the teams to be mix and matched.
Alright! If you guys enjoyed what you read, or have some high hopes in what this story may become, please give it at least a follow. Ya don't have to favorite, but it does show me that you support it, and everyone can use some good support.
