"You said you had an offer." Yang breaks the silence, closing the front door behind her before she follows the woman.
Raven blinks, seemingly confused as to what she was referring to before recognition filled her eyes. "...I did, yes."
Yang's eye twitches. Did she really just forget why she came here? "And that is…"
She turns back to look at her, a black coated bird lazily stares from her hands.
Her mother is one for stereotypes, it seems.
"Do you have any plans from here?" The woman asks curiously, resting on one of the boulders near the lake as she gently places the bird to her side.
Yang stares, uncomprehendingly. "I lost my arm," She stresses, "my career as a huntress is kind of over."
"And you're not using Ironwood's gift…?" Yang refuses to answer, pressing her lip's together in silent defiance. "Well, that's probably for the best, gifts ten to have a string or two attached to them."
"That isn't it."
"I'm aware," she leans downwards, removing her shoes as she lazily continues. "You are hardly the first person I've met who lost a limb."
"That-, can we just get this over with?"
"Sure, we can do that by answering the previous question." She slowly places her feet in the lakes shore, turning to look at Yang with a patient gaze.
"I've just told you-"
"You told me your previous aspiration was over," She corrects. "While that's to be argued, it also fails to answer what you'll do from here." She slowly moves her feet, walking in long, relaxed steps as she gently dragged the water with her feet. "As a wise woman once said, 'plans are of fragile makings, and life often dashes expectations to the ground."
Yang scowls, her only arm hugging her abdomen in some form of comfort.
"Do you know why Qrow and I fell apart?" Raven finally continues, sighing tiredly as she comes to a stop. "Obviously not or you'd realise why the question is so pressing. I'm not usually this... pushy. Have they told you anything about our childhood? Or just the... wizards part?
"Nobody says wizard anymore." Yang snorts. "And no. Dad didn't say a thing, and Qrow barely stayed with the exception of teaching at Signal-" She stops. A sudden thought suddenly forcing its way into her mind.
Was Signal Academy even standing?
After a moment of silence, Raven takes some steps closer, barely a meter distance as she tilts her head bemusedly. "I can't read your mind. But I'm assuming you're concerned for Signals state?"
"I-, yes?" Where her younger friends hit by the attack? And Rubys? Dust, she hadn't even thought of the rest
"Signal fall," She nods, turning back to stare at the lake. "And most of Vale will fall with it." She continues as if talking of the weather, ignoring Yangs horrified stare, "As for the rest..." She continues, letting out a sigh as she contemplates her words. "Well, removing one of the four great kingdoms is going to damage the economy. Vacuo will suffer from a sudden lack of trade. It was a good move, I suppose. Without Ozpin, or rather what he stands and represents, Renemant is left in complete chaos.
"...when you say fall, do you mean destroyed or..."
Raven stares at her for a moment, as if trying to solve a perplexing puzzle. "I think," she softly states, "that if you asking that, you can make your own conclusions."
"And you okay with that?" Yang questions disbelievingly. "You used to be a huntress. Don't you want to help them?"
"Ex-huntress." She corrects, frowning in thought. "And Qrow always did like to pretend that we had… honourable roots. But it's a typical sob story, really. Dad died when we were seven. Qrow was devastated, always being the more empathetic one, which left me having to take care of the two of us.
"…" She feels as if there's more to say in there. And the Blaise statement is the part that Raven doesn't mind telling. She ignores that she knows this because it's what she would have done.
"We were raised in Anima, you know? It's still bad now, obviously, but forty years ago it was, as Qrow liked to call it, a 'lawless place'."
"Get to the point." Yang sighs, realising that the woman is incapable of sticking to a single thought.
She ignores who it reminds her of.
"...The point is, I shielded Qrow from all of this, I stole, I lied, I killed. Because he was my little brother and I wasn't about to let him get himself killed. If nothing else, I think that's something we can agree on."
"I wouldn't-"
"We both know what's expected from older hunters, you don't need to give me propaganda. Ex-huntress, remember?"
Yangs shoulder's slumber. "...what's the point of telling me this?"
"Small talk? Familiarisation? Sympathy?" Raven lists. "Take a pick. But the point is that Beacon fall, and Ruby seems intent on seeking the ringleader rather than hiding here where it was safe."
"Like me, you mean."
"No. You're healing, there's a difference. Unfortunately, you haven't got years to heal… so I'm offering you an… apprenticeship, of sorts."
"What?"
"Hmm," Raven glances her thoughtfully, "you say that a lot. You should try being more creative when giving responses. I've been assured it makes one seem more sophisticated."
"What."
Raven sighs. "We'll leave it as a work in progress."
"I-, you want me as an apprentice?" She stares at the woman in disbelief. "You've ignored me my entire life and you now want me to be a bandit apprentice?"
"...Even if I was offering you to be a-" Her lips crinkle in amusement "-bandit princess, I think you'd be pretty good at it.
"But that isn't it, I was asking you to work for… well, I suppose you could call it my country. Even if it is too small to be considered one."
"…what."

In case this isn't obvious, I have absolutely no idea as to what I'm doing.
None the less, if you felt I should have written something differently, be it personality and/or displays of different states of mentality, please leave a comment! Any advice is welcome and appreciated!
Anyways, Ill See you next time! Ciao!
