So I'm kinda back from break, maybe, though thank "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Bitchy Slime" and ikezaki misa doujin works for inspiring me to complete this chapter. Yes, yaoi does fuel my writing speed.
Kinda want to start a Bleach x That Time I got reincarnated as a slime story now.
The big issue about this story. What the heck do I call the alter versions? Like, do I just use Jalter or something?
Also, bending some rules and shit of the things I'm using.
Ichigo stared at the building that contained Gudako's job as he looked at the building entrance. He wondered why the address on the card led him to a highrise in the center of Kuoh's high-end shopping district. His reflection in the window showed him how out of place he was, wondering if Gudako was playing an elaborate joke on him.
Opening the door, he stepped to the side as a teen walked out, his hands filled with bags of alcohol. His braided black hair ending in blue or aqua tips was the most distinguishing feature about him, Ichigo guessed. "Thanks!"
"No problem," Ichigo shot back as he walked into the building, letting out a whistle as he stared at the chandelier over the center of the room. A receptionist desk made of marble to his left that he walked towards.
"Hello, how can we help you today?"
Ichigo stared at the receptionist that asked him that, his body frozen as he took in her appearance. Her brown hair went down past her shoulders, not covering the golden earrings that she wore on each ear of the golden collar around her neck. He watched as her brown eyes stared back at him, waiting for his reply. "I'm here about Chelda Cafe?"
"May I ask what for?"
"Oh," Ichigo said, reaching into his pocket for the card Gudako gave him. The wrinkled card was in his hand as he handed it to the woman in front of him. One of her eyebrows raised at the conduction of the card, which caused him to shrug his shoulders in return.
"I see-"
Ichigo stared in shock as a white blur jumped onto the desk before jumping off the desk past them. The creature was gone now, leaving him startled at how quick it appeared and left.
"Fou, get back here now," The receptionist said, glaring at the creature before something slammed into the desk, drawing their attention. The person was kneeling on the ground rubbing his head, his orange hair startling Ichigo. "Robin, I thought you said Fou was told not to come down here into the guest lounge."
"Sorry about that, Siduri," The man called Robin said as he rubbed the top of his head. The man grinned sheepishly as he rose before turning towards Ichigo. The grin was now gone and replaced with a look of shock.
"You're hair!" Robin said, pointing at his hair with a type of energy Ichigo got from Gudako when they first met. His guts told him to leave as he stood there unmoving. "You're that Ichigo person that Gudako and Ritsuka keep talking about, right? Is that one of their cards?"
Ichigo handed the card over to the doctor. The man flipped it over in his hand, examining the piece of paper that Gudako had given him. The grin reformed on his face as he looked up at Siduri. "You looking for a job?"
"Kinda?" Ichigo replied, unsure now that he saw one of Gudako's coworkers.
"Let's hire him. He has Gudako's card, so that should be enough to get him hired." Robin said towards Siduri.
He watched as Siduri sighed at what Robin suggested to her. "If I recall, Robin, we are not hiring anyone at the moment on the director's orders."
"Yeah, but we need help in the bookstore section since Murasaki asked if the bar or cafe could spare anyone," Robin said, leaning against the desk as he made points for hiring him. "We also have to get him measured too."
"Robin," Sodiro started before Robin interrupted her.
"June seventh sound good?"
"Is that fine with the director?" Ichigo asked, knowing that Siduri had said something about that person earlier. He wondered if this man would get Gudako in trouble or not by trying to get him the job. "This won't get Gudako or her brother in trouble, will it? If so, I'm going to pass on the offer."
He watched as Robin smiled at Siduri, who let out a sigh at what he said. "See, I told you that Gudako and Ritsuka weren't lying about him a nice guy if you ignore how he looks. So how about I show him around the bar and bookstore for the time being?"
Robin quickly continued seeing Ichigo's annoyance at his appearance being commented on. "You look like a delinquent, so we had to make sure you weren't trying to trick those two since they mean a lot to us."
Ichigo shrugged when he explained his reasoning, not minding that his friend's coworkers were looking after them. Part of him was happy that they had others looking after them.
"Shouldn't you be in class, though?"
"Why don't you show me that bookstore you talked about and those measurements?" Ichigo asked Robin as soon as the woman asked him that question. Robin let out a small chuckle as he led Ichigo to the elevators away from Siduri, who glared at him.
"So you Gudako and Ritsuka's coworkers?" Ichigo asked as they entered the elevator together, the man pressing one of the buttons at the top of the display.
"Yep, I've known them for a while now," Robin answered him as he leaned back against the wall in the elevator crossing his arms. "So, what made you decide to come here for the job?"
Ichigo scratched at his face as he tried to answer Robin's question. "She kinda told me to show up since the uniforms are fitted."
Robin stared at him as he answered the question before laughing at his explanation. "That sounds just like her."
Ichigo agreed as the elevator stopped. The doors opening revealed a lounge that made the one below them look poor. He stared in awe at it, knowing that the word luxury was created to describe this room. A nudge behind him got him out of his trance. "Amazing, isn't it?"
"Yeah."
"Well, we can only have the best of the best for our clients that visit," Robin said, leading the way towards their destination. "Well, the person who'll take your measurements is old school, so they'll be a little touchy with you."
Ichigo nodded as Robin explained the tailoring process that he would go through with the in-house tailor. Robin told him that they made all the outfits for everyone who worked here.
"Oi Robin, who's the stray?"
Ichigo stared at the short blonde who called out to Robin. He watched as the person made their way over to them. The way they sounded made him guess that the person was a female, though he could be wrong. The tuxedo they were wearing was not out of place, drawing more confusion as he tried to guess their gender as they stopped next to them. "Yo stray, what class are you? I don't sense anything coming from you."
"Huh?" Ichigo said, not understanding the question before Robin intervened.
"Mordred this is Ichigo. He's from Kuoh, the same class as Gudako and Ritsuka," Robin said, explaining to the person called Mordred his reasoning for being here, their attention focused on each other now. "Gudako gave him a card and told him to apply for a job. I'm taking him to go get measured."
"Oh," Mordred said to Robin before facing him again. Modred's green eyes stared into his caramel brown, trying to find something he couldn't figure out. "Well, if you got him this far, I guess it's okay then."
"Mordred, get over here. We're not done with the scheduling!" A voice yelled towards the blonde. Mordred rushed off before they could say anything else.
"Sorry about that. She's just lively and curious about new people," Robin said to him before they started walking again. Robin quickly led him into a hallway that was hidden behind a curtain.
"It's no problem," Ichigo replied, not caring that she was curious about him. "So, who's going to be taking my measurements?"
Robin grinned as he asked that, a chill going down his spine as he straightened up in response. "Oh, Miss Crane is going to take your measurements. As I said earlier, she's old school and super hands-on with her clients."
"What," Ichigo said as they stopped in front of a door. A sign on it read Miss Crane. Ichigo gulped as Robin opened it. "Good luck Ichigo."
Ichigo yelped as he was pushed inside the room. The door slammed shut behind him. A woman sitting across from a table in front of him stared as he stood there. "Do you mind taking your shirt off for this?"
"Sure," Ichigo responded, his hands gripping the bottom of his shirt as he lifted it over his head. He was cursing Robin for leaving him here all alone.
"He doesn't have anything, Robin, so why is he allowed here?" Mordred asked, seeing that Robin dropped off the teen with Miss Crane. The question that was nagging her was finally out in the open. Even he had to know something wasn't right about the kid.
"Oh, that?" Robin asked, rubbing the back of his head as he thought of his answer to the question. "Ritsuka still throwing himself at missions?"
"Yeah, why?" Mordred asked, knowing that their master was busier than usual recently, remembering the shouting match he got in with his twin before rushing off for some missions.
"Cause he's going to die soon," Robin answered, remembering what Gudako told him one night about what she dreamed and how it was reacquiring contently for her and Ritsuka. He explained what he was told to Mordred, the woman thinking as she digested the information given to her.
"Then shouldn't we keep them away from each other?"
"Wouldn't that be cruel to the two of them? Their best friend would die soon, and we try to protect them from the pain instead of helping them create better memories," Robin reasoned, Mordred sighing, knowing that the man might be right for once.
"Fine, but that doesn't explain why I couldn't sense any magic circuits inside him. It's not even that it's like nothing is standing there when I look at him. It's like he doesn't exist," Mordred said, moving back into the question she wanted answered. "Is he like that Sorcerer Killer from a couple of years ago?"
"No, I don't think so. He doesn't show any signs of knowing about the supernatural, and he seems like any ordinary human," Robin answered as he thought about his brief time with the teen. Knowing that if he knew anything about their world, he wouldn't have come here in the first place. Unless he was cunning enough to plan something which he didn't seem like the type, Robin thought to himself.
They both turned to Miss Crane's door as it opened up. The orange-haired teen's face was as white as a ghost as he walked out. Miss Crane was behind him as she wrote down the information on the clipboard she had in hand. He guessed the tailor walked off towards another room to likely check the supplies. "How was it, Ichigo?"
"Shut up," Ichigo told him, causing him to let out a small chuckle at his misfortune with Miss Crane. "I want to go home."
"Really? You had your full of us already, Ichigo? I'm hurt, and I thought we hit it off so well since we got the same hair," Robin joked as Mordred bit at her thumb, likely thinking of what she can and can't say to the teen now knowing that he didn't have any clue about the world he walked into.
"You haven't even got a chance to check out the book store you would be helping out with," Robin replied, noticing the teen straightening up. "You forgot, didn't you?"
"No, I just didn't think the measurements would take so long," Ichigo answered, remembering all the different clothes and colors combinations that Miss Crane presented him and had him feel to see if they were to his liking.
"Perfection takes time after all," Robin answered before asking the teen if he wanted to come back another time to check out the book store or do it now. "So we can reschedule your book store tour at another time if you want, or we can do it now. Up to you, Ichigo."
Ichigo looked at the clock on the wall as he chewed his lip, thinking over his answer before telling Robin. "Can we reschedule it? I have to get home to feed my cat, and he's likely worried about me not getting home after classes."
"Huh, you're a cat person?" Robin asked, surprised at the information that Ichigo gave him.
"There a problem with that?" Ichigo asked, defensive about his pet cat.
"No, just surprising for someone who looks like a delinquent," Robin said with a soft smile.
"Looks can be deceiving," Ichigo told him, wondering why Robin let out a small laugh at that.
"You don't know how true that can be," Robin replied, remembering a pink-haired servant and others. "Why don't I show you the way out, so you don't get lost?"
"Sure, let's go," Ichigo said, wondering what this new job had in store.
