The only reason this chapter got written so fast was cause of yaoi. The holy fuel of thighs and traps.

"How many people do you know in our grade Ichigo?"

"Why does it matter, Issei?" He asked as he closed the book he was reading, knowing that they had some free time before they had to get ready for the next class. He was a little disappointed that Issei asked him that question since the book was, in his opinion, better than he expected, and he wanted to finish reading the first volume.

"Cause you always do contracts with the clubs and help out, but I have never seen you hanging out without anyone but the twins or me. If anything, I catch you studying or reading more often than not. It's like you don't have any friends other than us. What book are you even reading now?" Issei explained, pointing out details that he noticed about his friend, which caused Ichigo to sigh.

"I'm reading A Legend of Sword. It's a pretty good novel series by Zhenyu," Ichigo answered as he handed it to Issei, who looked through it. His face paling the further he got through it. "Is there something wrong with it?"

"Is there something wrong with it? Yes, there's no harems, no naked woman, or anything," Issei said, passing the book back to Ichigo, disgusted at his friend's reading material. "It also doesn't tell me who else you know."

Ichigo let out a groan wondering why Issei was too uppity about wanting to know this information about him. "I know you, Gudako, Ritsuka, Mash, and I guess maybe you can put in Matsuda and Motohama."

"That's it?"

"Yeah, why?" Ichigo asked, wondering what the issue was. It's not like many people wanted to talk to him after it was known he was friends with Issei.

"What about other grades?" Issei asked, wondering about Ichigo's friend group and noticing that he's only interacted with him and his friends.

"Nope," Ichigo said, not caring that much about the issue Issei had brought up.

"What about Manabu?" Issei asked, remembering that Ichigo accepted the contract with the blue-haired teen. "You accepted the contract to clean the gambling club room, so you should know him, right?"

Ichigo blankly stared at Issei, wondering if he had forgotten what he had done that day. A little bit annoyed that he got roped into taking a contract he didn't want anything to do with. "I didn't accept that contract. You accepted it for me."

"Oh, I forgot about that."

"Ichigo?" Someone said, drawing his attention away from Issei and towards a female who wanted his attention.

"Yeah?" Ichigo asked, curious what she wanted as he ignored Issei, giving him a thumbs up and mouthing for him to go for it. He knew that Issei wanted him to try and woo the girl who called out for him. His perverted harem antics were easy to spot.

"Uh, you and Manabu," She said, reaching into her bag and pulling her cellphone out. A picture on the screen as she showed it to him, causing him to choke on his spit and Issei to fall on his desk laughing. "Are you two in a relationship?"

Ichigo recovered from the shock that question sent him into as he looked at the picture that Matsuda took last Friday. He almost forgot about the accident until he heard the whispers and rumors spreading when he arrived today. Along with Gudako smirking at him and commenting about it. "No, we are not. He fell, and I caught him. That's all that happened."

He watched as she nodded before rushing off towards a group of girls in their class, already telling them what he said. The group not being quiet at all. Issei started laughing again to himself as they overheard what they were saying.

"What did he say?"

"He's protecting Manabu's honor," The girl said to her friends as Ichigo's face blanched at what she was saying. "Do you think he's going to meet up with him later?"

"Have the unit in Manabu's class keep watch on him," One of the girl's friends said to her, the rest nodding in agreement. "We'll make lots of money if we manage to get more photos."

"Wow, I didn't know you were such a gentleman and were protecting his honor," Issei teased him. The brown-haired teen tried to hold in more of his laughter before failing. "Oh god, Ichigo, I'm sorry, but this is too funny."

"Haha," Ichigo laughed back, opening the book he had to where he left off, wanting to know how the chapter he was on ended before he was interrupted once again.

"Exuse me is Ichigo Kurosaki here?" Someone said from the entryway, another student, from the looks of it. Though he couldn't tell who it was, only that they had blonde hair.

"Yeah?" Ichigo asked, wondering what the blonde wanted from him. Hoping it would be quick. Though his guts told him it wouldn't be.

"Sōsuke-sensei would like to speak with you," The blonde said. Ichigo turned to face Issei, glaring at the blonde as he left.

"You know him?" Ichigo asked, curious about why Issei was glaring at the classmate of theirs.

Issei stared at him when he asked that question, both of his eyes connecting with him as he continued to stare, making him feel uncomfortable for once. "You kidding me? You don't know anyone. I thought you were joking about not knowing anyone."

"Are you going to tell me if you know him or not, Issei?"

"Yeah, that was one of the many handsome princes here in Kuoh. He's my rival. All the girls are in love with his appearance and personality, but when they see me, they cry in horror and call me a pervert,"

"Isn't that last part true, though?" Ichigo said as he stood up, wondering if Issei would tell him the blonde's name when he got back. He patted Issei on the back as he cried to himself. Mutter about how life isn't fair to him and his fellow perverts.

"Shut up and just go see what Sōsuke-sensei wants you for," Issei told him, brushing him off as he went back to moping.

Ichigo shrugged in response as he left. Exiting the classroom, he tried pinning names to faces as they walked by. Part of him wondered if what Issei said was true. Did he care, though? Not any of these people knew what he wanted or vice versa. It was easier for him to live up to what they labeled him a delinquent and just hang out with Issei, Mash, and the twins. Life was simple. 'But is it fulfilling' he thought to himself.

Stopping his train of thought, he peeked his head into the staff room, quickly spotting Sōsuke-sensei as he looked up from his desk and waved him over. Passing the other senseis, he stood near one of the most popular ones in the school. Everyone, when asked about him, only had good things to say.

"Kurosaki-san, thank you for coming," Sōsuke said to him, his chair turned to face him. The man's square glasses reflected the light as it shined through the window. His brown hair combed into what he would guess a sophisticated scholar would have. "Do you know why I asked for you?"

Ichigo blinked at the question, not knowing the reasoning behind being called here. The sigh that left Sōsuke-sensei probably gave it away that he showed that he didn't know on his face.

"Kurosaki-san, what are your goals? What's your drive here in Kuoh Academy?"

"Huh?" Ichigo replied to the question. "To graduate, obviously, and get a decent job."

"That's not a true goal or drive Kurosaki-san. Let's use your friend Hyoudou-san as an example. What is his goal and drive?"

"That's pretty obvious. He wants to become a harem king and gain a harem," Ichigo answered, already knowing what Issei wanted and also knowing his drive in life. "Or to touch boobs." He added on for good measure.

"Good, that is correct. Now tell me what goal you have and what drives you."

Ichigo opened his mouth to say before he closed it right away, thinking about what he would say. Was his goal to graduate? If so, what about after graduating from Kuoh? Would he want to go to university here or look for a job? And what about the drive that Sōsuke-sensei mentioned. Issei had one that was envisioned perfectly compared to him. Did he have a drive? He thought about it. It wasn't to start a harem like Issei or touch some boobs.

'Do I want to protect people?' He thought to himself before laughing at the thought of his. There was no reason he needed to protect people in this day and age. And why would he want to fight to protect total strangers? He wasn't that self-sacrificing.

"I don't know."

"That's fine, Kurosaki-san," Sōsuke-sensei said, not criticizing him for not having anything figured out, but he said it like he understood where he was in life. "Oh, I heard some rumors that you were looking to start a harem with the help of Hyoudou-san, along with another about you getting handsy with a first-year called Manabu. Is that true?"

"Issei was feeling down last Friday, so I cheered him up by saying I wanted to learn how to start a harem. I'm not being serious about it I just wanted him to cheer up," Ichigo answered, already knowing the reasoning behind that part of the question. "For the Manabu picture that is spreading around here. Well, Manabu fell down the stairs, and I caught him. He also offered me a contract to clean the gambling club's old room. Other than that, nothing is happening between the two of us."

He waited for Sōsuke-sensei's response, the man tapping a pen against his chin in thought as he hummed to himself. His soft brown eyes stared outside the window next to him, looking at something he couldn't see. "Did you feel anything?"

"Huh?"

"Apathetic is the term, but you're not completely apathetic. You just lack a drive. I can tell you get embarrassed by accidents and such, and you seem to care a lot for Issei and the other small group of friends you have. But did you feel anything inside of you when Manabu landed on top of you or when Issei wanted you to learn how to gain a harem?"

Ichigo thought about what Sōsuke-sensei said. He tried to think about those two individual moments that happened to him. Searching deep inside of himself, he looked for the answerers to the question and what he found made him sad. Was there something wrong with him? Why wouldn't he be happy about learning how to gain a harem or having a cute boy on top of him if he decided to bat for the other team. He stopped at that thought he just had. Did he consider Manabu attractive? As he thought about those thoughts, Aizen pulled him out of his mind with a cough getting him to answer the question he posed. "No, I didn't."

"So you realize why I called you here?"

"Yeah."

"I might have some way to help you," Sōsuke-sensei told him, earning his full attention. "How did you feel when you practiced karate when you were in junior high? Did you feel alive when going up against someone and winning?"

"Yeah, it felt good," Ichigo answered, remembering when he fought some of the other students and won the matches. The thrill of winning rushing through his veins was all too memorable. "So you saying I should join the karate club?"

"No, I don't think that would make you feel anything," His sensei said as he listened to every word carefully. "This would be a challenge that might completely ware you out where you can't walk the next day or move a muscle as you lay on the ground. He'll push your body and mind to their limit when trying to win a match against him. If anything, you'll be wishing you were dead instead."

"Who and when?"

"Why I might say you do have some drive in you after all, but what's the goal? Is it just to fight him?" Sōsuke commented, watching his student for the reaction he wanted. The hunger that he needed.

"No, I want to win."

"That's more like it, Kurosaki-san," He said, standing up and grabbing Ichigo's shoulders. The orange-haired teen had a flame light up in his eyes. "What day is good for you? I can arrange the match on the day you want, but it'll likely happen after school."

Ichigo thought of what day would be good, knowing that he had to clean the gambling room tomorrow, and on Thursday, he had to show up at Chelda Cafe. Sōsuke started speaking again, seeing that he was thinking about a date that was good for him.

"Oh, is June sixth good for you?"

"Yeah, it is," Ichigo answered, wanting to fight the person as soon as possible, not understanding why his blood was getting pumped up for it. He wondered why all of a sudden, he felt so alive. "Who is it that I'll be fighting against?"

"Toji Fushiguro the phyical education sensei."
