"Why do you look so happy?" Ichigo asked Issei as he waited for Manabu to show up for the job he needed him to do. He noticed that the short teen was late as he sat on the grass, sipping at his juice, wondering if something had come up.

"You wouldn't understand, Ichigo!" Issei yelled, striking a pose and pointing a finger at him, Ichigo blankly staring at him, guessing what happened. Knowing that the chance of his guess being correct was next to zero, it might have been a sign that something terrible likely would happen if it did happen.

"Let me guess. You got a girlfriend?" He guessed before his eyes widened, seeing Issei smile at him. The pervertedness of the smile told him he assumed right. "No, you can't be serious you? How? Who? When? Have you told Gudako and Ritsuka the news?"

"I tried texting them the news, but I got no answer, and they're both absent today, which is unusual," Issei said thoughtfully as he rubbed his chin. Thinking about the twins he had known since junior high before going back to his perverted usual self. "But ha, screw you, Ichigo, I got a girlfriend and the first member of my harem before you! Suck on it! I'm even going on a date tomorrow!"

"Bullshit."

"It's not here. Look at this," Issei said, pulling out his cellphone and showing Ichigo the text messages they had exchanged. His heartbeat was faster as he scrolled through them. A true sign of his love for Yuuma. "Her name is Yuuma Amano. I met her last night on my way home from school."

"Does she live around here?" Ichigo asked, curious about the girl that asked Issei out. He also wondered if Issei had any pictures of her to show him so he could see what she looked like.

"I don't know to be honest. I assume so since she said she went to a school around here," Issei explained, not caring the least about what Yuuma said to him. "All of you losers are going to be stuck as virgins when I'm busy getting my dick wet, haha!"

"Haha, where are you guys going for your date?" Ichigo asked, ignoring Issei's comment, knowing that he was living in dreamland and didn't want to drag the poor guy out of it right now.

"Likely going to go see a movie with her and get a bite to eat, then I'll take her to the park, and near the fountain, we'll kiss like lovers. Our tongues are dancing in each other's mouths fighting for dominance before I win and grope her sweet milkers. You should have seen them, Ichigo. They were amazing to see in person," Issei said, putting both his hands out in front of him as he imagined groping the girl called Yuuma."Oh man, I wish I had Motohama's ability. I could have told you all her sizes."

Ichigo blinked owlishly as Issei started ranting pervertedly about the girl Yuuma. He wondered if this was normal for a pervert to go through when finally having a girl ask you out.

"Issei people are staring," He told his friend, trying to get him to calm down as their female classmates of theirs glared at them.

"You're just jealous. That's why you want to know, isn't it? You plan on just crashing my plans when we're on our date, don't you!"

"What?"

"You're jealous that the closest you'll be to getting sex is being stuck jerking off to porn until you go to college and die alone!"

He watched as Issei started running away from him, his laughter loud enough to hear still as he rounded the corner towards the main gate of Kuoh.

"What?" Ichigo repeated, still confused about what Issei just said to him before shrugging his shoulders, knowing that he would be back to normal tomorrow.

"Ichigo, you ready?" A voice asked him from behind, causing him to freeze for a second before he stood up. The person's signature blue hair on display along with their uniform. "Scare you?"

"Oh, Manabu yo," He said, facing the classmate who hired him for his last contract. The teen got closer to him as he stared him in the eyes intensely. "Personal space?"

"You changed," He commented, not caring about his personal space as he smirked before backing away. "Your eyes are different today. I might even say a little more beautiful than the last time we met. They seemed to gain a little spark to them."

Pushing the teen away from him, he rubbed his eyes, wondering what Manabu was talking about, almost regretting accepting the contract that Issei forced onto him. "Please don't say that. I don't want the girls getting a wrong idea about us."

"Oh really?" Manabu said, a sly smile on his face at what he said. "So if I did something like this, those rumors would increase?"

Ichigo's eyes widened as Manabu grabbed his arm, as the teen wrapped himself around it. Hanging off his arm like a couple would when they would go on a date. The teen was already leading them to their destination. Unfazed by his verbal protest.

"Why?"

"Why not? Plus, you don't seem to mind," Manabu said to him as they walked. Ichigo ignored the stares to the best of his ability. "What was your friend yelling about?"

"Issei? He got a date with a chick called Yuuma Amano, who goes to a school around here. He also said he plans on taking her to the park to kiss her in front of the fountain when the moon is out," Ichigo told Manabu, whose eyes shined at what he said, throwing him off a bit.

"That sounds beautiful," Manabu replied to what he said. Causing him to also think about what Issei planned. Thinking about it, he may be agreed with Manabu that it sounded beautiful, but he didn't hear what else Issei said to him. "Oh, is he also taking her to see the musician there?"

"There's a musician at the park?" He asked, getting used to having Manabu hang onto him. The teen's weight wasn't bothering him at all at this point.

"Yeah, he only showed up around last Friday, if I recall," Manabu answered him. Curious about what changed in the orange-haired teen that allowed him to get this close.

"Huh, interesting," Ichigo said, looking at Manabu, remembering what Sōsuke-sensei told him about drive and wants. He looked closer at his company, looking at his blue hair with the two ahoges that stuck up from his head and the rest of his body. He took in the sight of him in his club uniform that was pressed up against his arm and body. He tried looking closer at the teen before he interrupted his thoughts.

"So what's on your mind that you're staring at me so intensely for?" Manabu asked, not seemingly bothered that he was staring at him. If anything, he seemed more intrigued by the action he did.

Ichigo blushed in embarrassment at being caught by Manabu, the sly smile still on his face as he let go of him and opened a door for them. "Just thinking about what your drive is."

"My drive?" Manabu questioned, rubbing his chin as they walked inside the school building. Almost to their destination. "Well, if I had to say it's to be beautiful."

"To be beautiful?"

"Yep, if I had to say with a hundred percent, my drive is to live beautifully and find beautiful things," Manabu told him. His sly smile was gone, now replaced by a different type of expression, he explained. A mixture of sorrow and happiness seemed to be on his face simultaneously. "Even when I die, I at least want to do it beautifully. What about you since you seem interested in mine?"

"I don't have one, I think, so at the moment, I'm looking for one," Ichigo answered the teen. Wondering if he'll gain one tomorrow or not. Hoping that the sparring match with Fushiguro-sensei would help him.

"So you don't have a drive? That sucks," Manabu said before his mouth shaped into a grin as he stared at him. "I might have a way to help you if you are interested? My club helps people with mysteries, and you lacking a drive does fall under that. I would consider it a mystery after all."

"So you want me to come to your club for you guys to help me?" Ichigo finished for him guessing his reasoning. "If I'm free sure, I'll stop by if it means finding a drive."

"Good," The shorter teen told him as he unlocked a door showing him the cleaning supplies that he would need for cleaning. "Here are the supplies you'll need for the room. Any questions?"

"What are you going to be doing during this?" Ichigo asked, curious what Manabu was going to be up to when he was cleaning. As soon as he asked that, a buzzing sound erupted from his pocket, causing him to grimace at the message that showed on his phone.

"A meeting that I'm going to be late for if I don't leave right now," Manabu said, running off the way they came. "I'll have someone come check on your later!"

Ichigo shrugged his shoulders, not minding that he was left to his own devices as he grabbed the cleaning supplies he needed. He was already walking off to his destination.

"Manabu-kun!"

Manabu dodged the redhead as he flew past him, the devil making a turn that should have been impossible before he felt his arms wrap around him before they almost fell to the ground. His classmate laughed at his own antics as they were outside the student council's room.

"Millicas-sama, we're going to be late for the meeting if you don't get off of me," He warned, hoping that it would get Millicas off of him. The red head's pouting face already told him that he had messed up.

"What did I say about using honorifics with me, Manabu!" Millicas told him, his red eyes glaring at him. The son of lucifer expecting someone not to call him Millicas-sama was odd to him.

"Millicas, can you get in the room already? We're about to start," A voice called out from the doorway as the redhead looked up at the student council president Sona Stiri. Manabu took in her slim figure of the third year, wondering why she had to look like her, but he dropped those thoughts of his. "Manabu-san, please hurry also."

"Come on, Manabu-kun, the meeting is about to start to see who gets who," Millicas told him. It's not like he didn't know what the meeting was about in the first. It was to decide who would try and claim who among their classmates. He remembered the words she said to him about how barbaric it was for them to pick and choose among the humans.

"Do you think the twins will be here?" Millicas asked him as he led him by the hand into the meeting room. A smile on the redhead's face as they passed some of the other devils. They looked through pamphlets that had information about students and the abilities that they could develop when being turned into a devil. Trying to decide who would be a good fit for the peerage they were in or if they filled a specific requirement for a devil back in the underworld. They could even form contracts with the humans on the pamphlets if they wanted to make their descent into becoming a devil easier. Though these meetings usually ended up with no one recruiting anyone unless it was a special occasion and, most of the time, about the contracts they needed to form instead.

"No, they usually aren't," He answered Millicas. The down-trodden look on his face almost made him call it beautiful. The twins in mind never truly showed up unless something big was happening in Kuoh City.

"Shame I haven't seen them in a while," Millicas replied to him, a tinge of sadness in his voice before he looked around, catching his sister talking to someone they didn't think would show up. "I thought you said they usually aren't here."

"I did," He answered, the surprise not hidden on his face as he stared at Lucifers Watchdog, his butler standing close behind him. "So something big is happening after all."

"Yep," Millicas agreed with him, the two of them taking a seat at the table prepared for all of them, the meeting soon to start. "So you got anyone in mind for your peerage? I've noticed that you hired a delinquent for a cleaning job."

"Oh him? No, I just wanted to check him out, that's all," He answered truthfully. He had no plans on adding any new members to his peerage, not after what happened last time. "Kurosaki merely interested me, so he got hired for a contract. He's still free from any obligations to our kind too."

"You were interested in him? Huh, so I guess I'll also check on him," Millicas commented, knowing the type of reaction that would cause among the devils and the ones in hell. They would be dying to see who caught the son of Satan's eye to be his first peerage member. His life would be uprooted from its peaceful existence. Millicas showing interest in him would spell death from another faction or get turned into a devil. The choice would be taken from him.

"What about the three magicians he's friends with?" Manabu questioned, knowing that he had to wait for him to be alone to get him to hear about the contract he wanted to offer to him. "I don't think they'll take kindly of a devil stealing one of their friends."

"Is this seat taken?"

They looked up at the voice before Millicas jumped out of his seat to hug the devil. The watchdog himself was standing next to them along with his butler smiling down at him as he waved his hand in greeting. "Ciel-kun! You need to show up more!"

"We'll talk later, Millicas. The meeting is about to start," The devil called Ciel said to Millicas as they all turned to face the student council's president, who stood to speak. Sona gained everyone's attention with ease. Before, it was interrupted by Millicas.

"I call dibs on Kurosaki."

As he said that, the color drained from his face wondering why Millicas decided to shout that out for everyone to hear. He watched as all the devils in the room's eyes widened at what Millicas just proclaimed for them all to hear and spread amongst their kind. The son of Lucifer choosing his first peerage member was big news. Even Ciel and his butler showed the same expression of shock.

"Why you couldn't wait till we got to that part of the meeting?" Sona asked from her spot, unshaken from the interruption.

"Oh, that's simple. I wanted to be first," Millicas reasoned like it was just that simple. "I also didn't want any competition for him."

"Millicas, are you sure about this? Choosing a peerage member isn't something that should be so spontaneous," This time, it was Rias speaking as she stood up to look at her nephew, the redhead smiling at his aunt like he knew what he was doing.

"Yep, I plan on making him, my queen."

Manabu could feel the rumors and whispers about Millicas choosing a queen already spreading throughout the underworld like hellfire. Part of him regretted hiring Ichigo for the contract he proposed. However, no one could have seen this coming.

Ichigo yawned as he finished cleaning the gambling room. He wondered who's been using it as a place to ditch class after seeing all of the empty bottles of water and used bags of chips. He had to guess it was one of their classmates.

The door opened, causing him to turn around to see someone he didn't expect, a bag of chips in one hand and a water bottle in the other. "Yo."

"You're the reason this room is so messy?" Ichigo asked, dumbfounded that Toji Fushiguro was the cause of the dirtiness of the room. It didn't add up in his opinion as he thought about all the times he's seen his physical education sensei. "Do you know how much of a mess you made, Fushiguro-sensei?"

"Just Toji when I'm not on the clock," Toji answered nonchalantly, pulling out a chip to munch on as he took a seat on the sofa in the room. Relaxing on it like he was the original owner. He let out a long whistle as he took in the room. "Got to say you're not bad at cleaning. Guess the devil had a good reason to hire you after all."

Ichigo scratched his head in confusion at what Toji said about Manabu. The teen might have caused some rumors to develop around him and increase after his recent stunt, but nothing about him screamed devil to him. Hell, the devil wasn't even a real person if he had to guess. "Manabu?"

"What other devil hired you for the job to clean this room?" Toji replied sarcastically, like he didn't hear him the first time. "Do you even know what he is?"

"A human?" Ichigo answered reluctantly, not understanding where this was going, and wondered if Toji was insane. The older man made no sense of the words he was saying.

"Oh, you don't know anything that explains a lot," Toji said, sitting forward and rubbing his head before throwing the empty bag of chips at him. "That makes a lot of sense now that I think about it."

"Explains what?" He questioned, curious about what Toji was talking about. Even if he was crazy, he was curious about what he had to say.

"Nothing, just show up for tomorrow," Toji said in front of the door he came through before adding another comment. "Don't trust any devil, angle, or human kid. It'll help you out in the long term."

"Huh?" Ichigo said as he expressed even more confusion at the mention of angels like they genuinely existed outside of religion.

"Toji-san still the same, it seems?" A voice asked on the other side of the wall. Earning a grunt from him before he left entirely.

"Hello there," The person said, smiling as he turned the corner into the gambling room. He stared into the teen's peacock blue eyes, with his grayish blue-black hair that went down to his eyes. The suit he was wearing was out of place among students of Kuoh. It was too fancy, and he seemed too well dressed. "Who might you be?"

"Ichigo Kurosaki, you?" He asked the teen in front of him. Staring at him, wondering why another teen would be here this late at night, his thoughts interrupted as the teen replied to him.

"Ciel Phatomhive, it's a pleasure to meet you."
