Five Versions

"When someone is punished by he's honesty, he begins to lie."

Day 2. 07:02 PM.

The guards handcuffed Raph and Mikey again and then they started walking through the hallways once more to get their brothers. Raph couldn't stop thinking about the two things that Dr. McKinney said to him. The first one, that he could help them to escape. Raph wasn't sure that he could trust Dr. McKinney, but he could try, plus he didn't seem to be lying to them. Then, at least, they could get Mikey out of that hellhole and then, Leo, Donnie and Raph would think about how to escape themselves.

The second thing that was going in circles around his brain was when he said that he hoped that the reason that he was feeling that way was because of the shot, alias the pill, which he didn't wanted to mention to the doctor because Mikey was at the room. What was driving him mad was the question of what was it? As far as he knew, the pill could be killing him.

Finally, they arrived to the Lunchroom, where Donnie and Leo were waiting for them. Sophie ordered the guards to open the doors. When the doors were opened, they found Leo and Donnie asleep. Leonardo was lying down on the table's sit, sleeping on his side, while Donatello was sitting on another table with his head resting on his arms at the table. As soon as the guards saw that, one of them yelled for them to wake up.

"Hey freaks!"

As the guard shouted, both, Leo and Donnie woke up abruptly. Leo jumped scared and fell to the floor while Donnie lifted his head as he screamed.

"What did you call them?" Raph asked weakly with anger.

The guard ignored him.

"Come out! It's time for your last tests of the day!"

Donnie stood up as Leo got up from the floor. They both walked outside of the Lunch Room. After they had handcuffs on, they started following Sophie once more.

"So… What will they do to us now?" Mikey asked with concern.

"Don't worry. You'll just have X-Rays" Sophie answered.

"What are X-Rays?" Mikey questioned once more.

"Don't worry Mikey. It's just something for them to look at our bones. Won't hurt at all." Donnie told him as he smiled.

"How's Raph?" Leo whispered to Mikey, noting that Raph was on front of them. He was tumbling as he walked.

"I'll tell you later." Mikey said.

They finally arrived to another room, which was like a waiting room.

"Alright, you'll be getting the X-Rays one by one. One of you enters the room, the rest wait in here."

A door suddenly opened. A female doctor came out. As soon as she saw Sophie, she smiled and said hello.

"Sophie! Hi!" She said as she hugged her.

"Hey Sheila." Sophie replied with a smile. "Turtles, she is Dr. Welch. She'll be the one performing the X-Rays."

"Well, me and Dr. Dexter Bates, who is waiting you inside."

The turtles didn't even reply. How could someone be so happy working for that place?

"So… the first one in my list is Raphael."

"Is the one in the red mask." Sophie responded.

"Bandana." Leo corrected.

"Whatever." Sophie murmured.

"Is he alright?" Dr. Welch asked Sophie with a low voice referring to Raph. Sophie just replied with a concern face and a sight. Dr. Welch sighted too and then kept going.

"Come here, the one with the red… bandana. Let's get this over with."

Before going with her, Raph gave a tired look at his brothers, then, without saying anything, he got into the X-Rays room with Dr. Welch and the two guards, leaving Sophie alone with the rest of the turtles. They noticed that Sophie looked at her watch altered.

"Okay… so my boss is waiting for me and she will be really mad if I'm not there in time. I'll leave you three alone and I'll be back in no time. Please behave and don't try anything because the doors of this waiting room won't open unless you have the password, which you don't have, so just be good." She said, getting out of the room with the door closing behind her.

As soon as it closed, Mikey ran to try to open the door. He pushed and pulled it, without any success.

"Okay, she wasn't joking."

"Of course she wasn't, you idiot. Do you even think that she would leave us here with no guard if that door wasn´t locked? I mean, even though we have handcuffs on, I think that she noticed that we are more violent than they thought." Donnie explained, taking a sit on one of the five couches of the waiting room.

"Guys, that doesn't matter now. Mikey, how's Raph doing?" Leo asked, sitting on the couch too.

Mikey sat too before answering.

"I have no idea. I'm really confused."

"Why?" Donnie asked.

"Well, first of all, he had told us that the doctors told him that it was because he drank too much, then he said it was maybe lack of sleep, after that, when he was on our last test, the doctor asked him what was going on with him and he told him that it was maybe the shot they gave him earlier, but when he told him that, the doctor's face was really concerned, but didn't said a thing and before getting out of the test he told Raph that he hoped that the reason he was feeling that way was because of the shot, so no, I don't think he's telling the truth."

"So, he really has like five versions of it? He's freaking lying to us." Leo said with anger.

"He's an idiot. They did something to him and he doesn't want to tell us." Donnie agreed.

"But, guys, there's something else, the doctor of our last tests, he…"

Suddenly, Mikey was interrupted with the sound of the door opening. Raph walked out dipping, with Dr. Welch behind him.

"Alright, Michelangelo, you're next." She said, checking a list.

Mikey got up, giving a last look at his brothers.

"Remember, it doesn't hurt Mikey." Donnie said, before Mikey entered the room.

Raph sat down on the couch, with no strength. He waited for the door to closed, then he started talking.

"Why do you look so angry guys?" He said weakly. "Did Mikey tell you?"

"Told us what?" Leo asked, crossing his arms.

"That there's a doctor that wants to help us. The one that did the last tests to us, he says that he's not on favor of doing this, but that he needs the job. He wants to help us to escape this fucking prison, but we need a plan first."

"What? Really?" Donnie asked, surprised.

Raph nodded.

"That's awesome! We'll start making the plan tonight. But what did the doctor…?" Before Leo could finish asking, the waiting room's door opened once more, and Sophie entered.

"I'm done. Sorry for leaving you guys alone." She said as she sat down too.

Mikey got out in no time, and in less than ten minutes, they were done with Leo and Donnie. Finally, Sophie opened the waiting room's door once more and they got out with the two guards following them.

They walked for some hallways and stopped outside of a door.

"Okay turtles so, finally, your last tests of the day." Sophie said.

"What the fuck? You've been telling us that we have the last test of the day like three freaking tests ago!" Raph yelled. It seemed that he was using the rest of the little strength he had on shouting against Sophie.

Before answering, Sophie gave him an angry look. "So what Raphael? I could do it ten more times and it wouldn't matter!"

Raph just rolled his eyes.

"So… what test will it be?" Donnie asked.

"A DNA test." She replied.

Donnie felt his heartbeat beating stronger.

"With a DNA they can see that we're mutants, right?" Leo murmured to Donnie, who just nodded.

Mikey and Raph just glanced at them with a nervous look.

"Shit." Was the last thing Raph said before entering the room.

The turtles entered the room, which was very small. A blonde doctor with glasses was sitting on a desk, writing something on a notebook. He lifted his face to see Sophie, the turtles and the two guards entering.

"Hello." He talked leaving his notebook apart. "I'm Dr. Greene. I'll make this quick. I promise"

Mikey, Leo and Raph just looked at Donnie, waiting for him to come up with something, but he didn't.

In no time, Dr. Greene approached with gloves on and four q-tips in his hands. Before any of them could say something, Dr. Greene started with Donnie.

"Open wide." He said.

Donnie hesitated, but thought things through when he saw the guards with the teaser-guns. Dr. Greene placed a q-tip on his mouth and filled it with saliva. He then placed the sample on a plastic bag, sealed it and did the same with the other three turtles.

A couple of minutes later, they were out of the room, walking to their apartment. None of them said a thing. The anxiety was killing them. When they arrived, the guards took off the turtle's handcuffs and finally, they entered to their apartment and the door closed behind them, leaving the four of them alone. As soon as that happened, Donnie broke the silence.

"What the fuck are we going to do now!?"

"Wow! He even said fuck." Mikey replied nervous.

"Mikey, don't repeat that!" Leo scolded.

"Leo, are you really scolding him for saying fuck? Right now?" Raph answered angrily.

"Raph, I don't even know what I'm saying! We need to escape now!" Leo collapsed.

"Of course we do! They've got our DNA! They'll know were mutants and its over guys!" Donnie yelled.

"But it doesn't have to be that bad, right?" Mikey asked, trying to be positive.

"Mikey, I hate to break it to you, but as soon as they know we´re mutants, they'll want to find out about every single freaking part of our body! They'll never let us go!" Donnie explained.

"Well, then instead of panicking, let's start doing a plan to get us out of here. Raph said it, we've got a doctor on our side, right?" Leo thought.

"But is that going to be enough?" Donnie asked in concern.

"We have to make it enough!" Leo shouted.

"Well, then what do you suggest?" Donnie questioned.

"I have no idea." Leo sighted. "There are guards everywhere. We are never left alone." He said sadly. "What the hell did we do to end up stuck here?"

"I'll tell you what we did, or more like what you did! You stopped me from killing Shredder that night Leo! You and your fucking pride is the reason why we're here!"

"For god's sake, cut it Raph! It's the same thing you've been whining about! Just get it over with! You know that's not true!"

"Oh no, you fucking know it's true Leo, you just don't want to admit it! You swore that you would do anything to stop Shredder and here we are because of you! You liar!"

"Me liar? Have you heard yourself lately? What is going on with you? Why do you look so weak? You can't even shout at me right!"

"What are you deaf now? I've told you like a million times today that they told me that I drank too much last night!"

"Jesus, Raph! Just pick one of your versions! Some hours ago, it was lack of sleep, or was it because of the shot they gave you? You can't lie to us Raph! As much as you hate it, we're your brothers and we know you very freaking well, so please, just tell us what happened this morning with Sophie. Where did she took you to?"

Raph hesitated before responding.

"You know what? You can believe whatever you want Leo! The three of you can do! I don't give a fuck anyways!" He yelled as he tumbled to the kitchen.

"Raph, wait!" Mikey tried.

"Let him go Mikey! He's just doing a tantrum as usual." Leo stopped him.

"Okay, I know that you just ended a fight and everything Leo, but we need to start making a plan. I won't be stuck here the rest of my life." Donnie said.

"Yeah… you're right. We better…"

Suddenly, a strong yell interrupted Leo.

"Shit!" Raph shouted. "Where the fuck is the Vodka? Or any type of alcohol?" He whined angrily, getting out of the kitchen with a pop-tart box on his hand.

"Maybe they found out that you're a freaking alcoholic!" Leo responded.

Raph was about to answer to that, but he decided to ignore it. He felt too weak and didn't had the strength, so he just went upstairs. He really needed to sleep. He was very tired.

"Okay, now that he's finally gone, we can start working on a plan. Any ideas?" Leo asked.

Neither Donnie nor Mikey responded.

"We need a moment when no one's watching us." Donnie said after some seconds. "The problem is that there's none. They're watching us all the time, except at the Lunch Room or here. The issue is that in neither of them we have the chance to escape."

"What if we tried to escape with Dr. McKinney? He said he would help us." Mikey suggested.

"But there's always guards outside and inside." Leo said.

"No, not with him. He even orders them to leave us with no handcuffs. We just need to ask him for help." Mikey answered.

"Let's see if any of us is able to find him tomorrow, so that we can talk to him." Donnie sighted.

"He knows the place; he can tell us what routes to take or even at what time does this place has less guards. Anyway, we can't know that until we talk to him and we need to make sure that we're doing the right thing when we make our move, so I guess it's all for tonight. I just want to go to sleep." Leo talked.

"What? Are we really going to leave the plan like that?" Donnie asked surprised.

"At least for tonight Donnie. It wouldn't make sense for us to keep making the plan if we don't even know if this guy will help us. The first step of our plan is talk to him. Good night guys."

"Are you really leaving without dinner? It's the best part of the day." Mikey exclaimed.

"More as the only good part of our day." Donnie corrected.

"I'm not even hungry. See you tomorrow." He said as he walked upstairs.

Mikey entered the kitchen and opened the freezer, taking out a frozen pizza.

"Want some D?" He asked.

"Nah, thanks. I'll just make me a sandwich."

When Mikey was done making his pizza, he went to the TV and Donnie heard that he was watching a movie. After Donnie made his sandwich, he went to the dining table. He needed to start thinking about something else in case that the doctor didn't help them. Some minutes passed, nothing. He had nothing.

Once he was done eating his sandwich, Donnie stayed there, on the dining table. There had to be something. The movie Mikey was watching ended and Donnie still kept thinking. Hours passed away but Donnie didn't even noticed. He was too busy trying to think a way to escape.

The clock turned 3:00 AM when Donnie thought about something, but, no. It couldn't be. They couldn't be so silly. He thought for a moment. As idiotic as it sounded, he had to try. He stood up and walked to the door. He stood there for some seconds, then, he tried to open it. He turned the handle and suddenly, the door was opened. Donnie closed the door immediately. Was it real? He sighted, then, he tried again. Succeeded. Donnie smiled. He closed the door once more and went to the living room, were Mikey was.

"Mikey! You've got to see this!"

No answer.

When Donnie approached, he saw his little brother asleep at the couch. A movie of Transformers on the TV. There was pizza lying all over the coach.

Donnie sighted again and turned off the TV. Mikey looked so peaceful. Donnie didn't want to wake him up. Leo was probably also sleeping and Raph, even though he wasn't, he was weak and angry.

Donnie thought it through. He wanted to go. He needed to go. What if he could find a way out? He would go alone.

Donnie stood in front of the door once more. Then, he opened it.
