Monster

"Some monsters are real."

Day 4. 12:19 AM.

Leo opened his eyes slowly. His head felt like if it was going to explode. The first thing that he questioned himself was where he was. He sat on the floor and saw his surroundings. He seemed to be locked in a cell. The front wall was made of crystal. He could see the outside. The other three walls where white. On the cell, he had a toilet and a blanket. Nothing else. It was a very confined space.

He looked through the crystal wall to the other side of the white hallway outside his cell. He saw more cells just like his on the other side of it. They were all alone except for one. Mikey was still unconscious, laying on the floor. The next question that came to his mind was, where the hell was Raph?

Leo stood up and walked to the crystal wall, trying to see more of the cells on the hallway, but they were all empty. Fear started to get over his thoughts. Where was his brother? It couldn't be. First Donnie and then Raph. He had failed them.

Leo tried to remain calm and he asked himself what had happened before. He then remembered it. They had tried to escape and got caught. Still, everything was kind of blurry, but he definitely remembered Raph being there the whole time. He couldn't had escaped. Where was he?

Leo sat on the corner of his cell, just waiting for Mikey to wake up. They needed a new plan to escape and find their brothers. Leo was anxious. All he wanted was to know that his brothers where alright, but he couldn't assure that, and he really doubted it. Suddenly, something interrupted his thoughts.

"Hey… Hey! Get us the hell out of here! I'm sure that someone must be listening! Let us out!"

Leo's eyes lightened up as he heard that voice. That was Raph. It was coming from the cell on his left. How could he not think of that? He was so stressed when he woke up that he didn't even thought about the cells beside his.

Leo stood up and ran to the left wall of his cell.

"Raph! I'm glad to hear your voice, man!"

"Leo! I'm glad to hear you too. I didn't knew if you were just sleeping of if you were gone too."

Leo sighted. "Where the heck are we?"

"I have no idea. I just woke up."

Suddenly, Leo looked to the outside of his cell and he saw that Mikey was waking up. He seemed scared.

"Mikey!" He exclaimed as he ran to the crystal wall of his cell.

"Leo, Raph, what is going on? Why are we locked up?" He asked with fear.

"We don't know, Mikey." Leo responded.

"How are you feeling?" Raph asked.

"I guess I've been worse."

"That's the attitude." Raph answered with a little smile.

"Guys, we need to escape as soon as we have the chance. We can't stay here any longer and… we still need to find Donnie."

Raph and Mikey stayed silent for some seconds. What about Donnie? Where was he? Was he still alive?

"Do you have any ideas?" Raph asked.

As soon as he talked, the turtles heard the door of the hallway outside their cells opening. They immediately walked to the crystal wall of their cells to see whose footsteps were approaching. They saw a very tall and corpulent guard. He had a large beard and was bald.

"Who the hell are you?" Raph questioned. "Get us out of here!"

The man ignored what Raph was saying and instead, a smile lightened up his face. Then, he talked.

"Hey Hans! Come and see this! The freaks are awake!" He yelled towards the door of the hallway.

"You just light up our day." He whispered with an evil smile.

Seconds after, a dark haired and muscular guard entered the hallway and stood up in front of the turtle's cells.

"So, we finally meet the freaks of this lab, Shawn." He said.

"I thought they were bigger. Some of our friends have told us that you have caused them some trouble."

"We may not be giants, but that doesn't mean we're weak." Leo talked.

"I have to admit it, when they told us that they had giant turtles in our lab, I didn't thought they could talk." Hans spoke.

"Well, that's not the only thing we can do." Raph threatened, holding up his anger.

"Yeah, we noticed it when you attempted to escape. You didn't succeeded, but at least you tried, right?" Shawn laughed.

"Why can't you let us go?" Mikey asked desperate.

"Oh, do you want to leave?"

"Why don't we let him try?" Hans said, walking to the end of the hallway and pushing a button next to the door. Mikey's cell opened.

As the door opened, Mikey's heart started beating faster. He gave a quick look to both of his brothers who looked at him with amaze and hope at the same time. He could do it.

When the door was opened fully, Shawn instantly tried to electrocute Mikey with his taser, but Mikey dodged it and kicked the guard's head, making him fall to the ground. Mikey ran out of his cell as Hans looked at him surprised and scared at the time. Mikey tried to punch him, but Hans dodged it and electrocuted Mikey, knocking him down.

Leo and Raph kept yelling at Mikey, telling him to stand up and that he could do it. As Mikey fell to the ground, Shawn stood up and, when he was about to electrocute him one more time, Mikey stood up and punched him to the other side of the cell. Hans tried to help, but Mikey dodged him one more time and managed to steal his taser, electrocuting Hans for some seconds and making him go unconscious.

"I did it!" Mikey celebrated as he ran towards the door to push the other buttons to free his brothers.

Mikey arrived and just when he was about to push the buttons, the door of the hallway opened and all Leo and Raph heard was Mikey screaming.

"Mikey!" Both, Leo and Raph, yelled, trying to see what was going on outside through the crystal wall, but Mikey was too far away, and their vision range was limited. Then, they heard a man talking.

"Shawn! What the hell is going on here? Why is your partner unconscious and, most importantly, why the fuck is one of these monsters out of his cell?!"

Shawn, who was still recovering from the punch that Mikey had given to him, immediately stood up and tried to explain himself.

"I'm sorry Darron. It was all a big mistake. We were just trying to…"

"Enough! I don't even want to hear you talk! Get Hans out of here and go to my office! You are fired!"

"That means…"

"I said enough!"

Leo and Raph saw Shawn, who started walking outside of the hallway, not before looking at them with hate. He lifted up Hans and got out of the hallway.

As they heard the door closing, they heard footsteps walking towards them, but those were not only footsteps, the man was dragging something on the floor. They finally saw him. A bald, dark skinned and corpulent man was dragging their little brother, who was barely awake.

"What did you do to him?" Raph yelled.

"I just injected him a sedative. Don't worry, he'll be fully awake in some minutes. After all, he deserves it. It's his fault that now I have to fire two of my best guards."

"If those were two of your best guards, you should really think about hiring new ones." Leo talked.

"Maybe, but they're enough to do the job. You haven't escaped yet, have you?"

As Darron finished talking, he released Mikey and pulled out his taser to electrocute him. Mikey barely moaned. All Leo and Raph could do was scream and see. Then, Darron kicked the poor turtle into his cell, closing it after that.

"Leave him alone!" Raph yelled.

Suddenly, an image came to Leo's mind. He had remembered. Before they were captured at the cellar, Darron was the one that shot them with sleeping darts. He was about to fall asleep when he saw Darron opening the freezer door and pulling out… Donnie. How could he had forgotten? He saw Donnie and he was crying for help. He was in danger.

"Wait a second! I remember you! You were the one who captured us when we were trying to escape!" Leo exclaimed.

"Ups, you caught me." Darron answered with a mocking smile.

"That's not all! I saw you pulling Donnie out of the freezer! He was tied up to a chair and asking for help! Where the hell is he?" Leo reclaimed.

"What?" Raph murmured surprised.

"Do you really want to know what happened to him?" Darron laughed.

"Tell us! Now!" Leo ordered.

"Fine. That smartass got out of the apartment at night and read something he wasn't supposed to read. The guards shot him and took him to the cellar to be interrogated. He died last night after being tortured." Darron lied.

Leo's and Raph's expressions changed immediately. Their eyes widened and no word could come out of their mouth. It couldn't be. Donnie had to be alive. Darron had to be lying. Donnie was stronger than that.

"I don't believe you." Leo spoke, clenching his teeth.

"Well, you should. Just, think about it. He had a bullet hole on his leg dropping blood and more blood. I beat the shit out of him and electrocuted him with enough power to light up Disneyland. He couldn't stand it. I saw how life slipped away from his eyes."

"You, monster!" Raph shouted with his eyes full of tears.

"The only monsters here are you and these freaks you call brothers! None of you will ever make it out of this lab. You'll die in here, just like your brother in purple did. My advice: stop fighting. That way you'll meet your brother sooner. Oh, and by the way, say goodbye to the apartment. From now on, you'll be living here."

With that said, Darron turned away and left the hallway. Leo was wrecked. He couldn't talk, he couldn't move. Not even the sound of Raph hitting the wall with anger made him react. Was it true that they would never see their brother again?

Leo could hear his brother in red sobbing in the cell next to his. They couldn't fall to depression like they did with Master Splinter. They needed to keep fighting but, to do that his team needed strength. Donnie was no longer with them, Mikey had lost his strength to fear and now Raph was losing his to sadness. Leo couldn't lose his. His family needed him. Then, he finally spoke.

"Raph."

As his voice broke, he stopped talking for a second, still hearing to his brother cry.

"Raph, you do know that there's a possibility that he lied to us, right? Maybe Donnie is alive." He controlled his voice, trying not to start crying too.

"Oh, yeah? And what is he's not, Leo? There's a possibility that he's dead too. You saw it. You saw the trail of blood that Donnie left when he got shot, you said you saw Darron pulling him out of the freezer, tied up to a chair. They did shot him and Darron was torturing him so, why would he lie on the last part?" Raph cried.

"Because he knew that this would make us want to give up. Let's not let him win this time. We need to stand up and fight. That's what Donnie would want us to do. We are not dead yet. We can still get out of here."

He heard Raph sighting. Raph knew Leo was right. He would rise and fight for his brothers.

"Raph… Mikey can't know this, alright? Fight for him."

"Alright. I love you, Leo." Raph talked as he did his best to stop crying.

"I love you too, Raph."

That said, Raph and Leo stayed in complete silent for some minutes. None of them said a thing. They were both lost in their thoughts. Suddenly, they saw that Mikey was waking up once more.

"What happened? I feel like I'm having a déjà vu." He talked weakly.

"Darron sedated you. Are you alright?" Raph asked.

"Darron? Who's Darron?" Mikey asked confused.

"I think he's the boss of all the guards. He was the one that caught us when we were escaping." Leo said.

"I don't even know him, but I really don't like him." Mikey answered.

"Believe us, we don't like him either." Raph murmured. Mikey noticed that he seemed off.

"Are you two okay? You look… sad."

"We're fine, Mikey." Leo smiled. "We were just thinking in a way to get out of here."

One more time, the turtles heard the door of the hallway outside their cells opening. The three of them walked to the crystal wall so that they could see who was outside.

"Hello, turtles." They saw Sophie. She was carrying a tray with 3 glasses of water. She looked different. She wasn't wearing any makeup and her ponytail was all messy. Also, it was the first time that she didn't received them with a smile. Maybe she still hated them for what they had done to her.

"Oh, not you! What are you doing here?" Raph complained.

"Well, unfortunately, even though you're not living in the apartment anymore, I'm still in charge of you."

"We're not living in the apartment anymore?" Mikey asked surprised.

"Of course not! You idiots tried to escape yesterday!" Sophie scolded.

"You don't seem happy. If you don't like taking care of us, then why don't you quit?" Leo asked.

"It's not that simple. Once in here, it's very hard to leave the job." Sophie responded.

"Very hard? Darron just fired two guards." Leo said.

"Really?" Sophie murmured with surprise and… fear?

"Yes… What's wrong?" Leo asked.

"Getting fired of this place doesn't end well for people." She talked with a low voice. "Anyway, I brought you water. You must be thirsty."

"How kind of you. How about some food? We haven't eaten in days." Raph claimed.

"Lucky for you, they'll bring you food in some minutes, but you can start by drinking some water." Sophie said, handing the turtles the glasses of water through a hole that the crystal wall of the cell had made for passing food inside.

"Yes! I'm starving! I hope that they bring us something good!" Mikey exclaimed with joy as he drank the whole glass of water. "Oh! Water had never tasted so good!"

"I know! I hadn't even realized how thirsty I was." Leo said as he drank his.

"I'm still hungry though." Raph talked after drinking his.

"Just wait for the food. I have to go, okay? I'll come later to take you to the tests."

"More tests?" Leo asked with concern.

"Yes, I'm sorry." She said, leaving the hallway.

"Oh no! I don't want any more tests or doctors experimenting on me!" Mikey exclaimed worried.

"I swear that as soon as they open these cells, I'm gonna try to escape once more and, this time, we'll make it." Raph assured.

"In a normal situation, I would say that we need a plan first, but this time, I'm with you Raph. We need to get out of here as soon as possible." Leo followed.

"Yeah, I'm not sure how longer I can stand being here." Mikey talked.

Then, they heard the sound of the hallway door opening once more. Three women dressed in white entered, carrying a tray of food each.

"Yes! Finally!" Mikey exclaimed with joy.

"Hello, turtles." One of the women said.

The three of them started to pass the food trays through the hole in the crystal wall.

"Enjoy." Another woman said. Then, they left.

The turtles looked at their trays. They contained some vegetables that didn't looked good at all, a piece of what seemed to be meat, some rice with a very strange consistency, a little plate filled with something that they thought were beans and finally, a little piece of jelly.

"Ugh, what the hell is this?" Raph complained.

"Well… at least it looks like we can eat it, right?" Leo spoke.

"I'm definitely going to miss the food at the apartment." Mikey said sadly.

They decided to try it, after all, they were starving. The rice tasted as if it was all made of garlic, the beans were really gooey, the meat wasn't even meat, it was like eating plastic, the best part of the food ended up being the vegetables, which were not even good. They jelly tasted like water. None of them finished the whole meal. It was very hard to swallow that food.

Day 4. 18:04 PM.

Leo couldn't stop thinking of ways to get out of there and still, he hadn't came up with anything. His mind was too disperse. Every time that he wanted to focus completely on finding new ways to escape, the thought of Donnie would come up to his mind. Was he really gone? If they really managed to escape, would it be worth to try to find him or would they just find a lifeless body? All those thoughts made him want to cry, but he wasn't going to do it in front of his brothers. He needed to keep them strong.

Raph, on the contrary to Leo, was thinking on how would he avenge Donnie. He could fill the anger filling up his chest. When Darron told them about Donnie, Raph felt wrecked, but now, that sadness had now turned into rage. Those people killed his brother and he wasn't going to forgive that.

Meanwhile, Mikey kept wondering where were those people keeping his brother. He missed Donnie. All he wanted was for Donnie to come back. What had happened to him since that night? He was the last one to see his brother before he went missing. The last thing he remembered was his brother eating a sandwich at the dining table and him watching TV and falling asleep. Maybe if he would just had sat down to eat dinner with his brother, he wouldn't be missing now.

Suddenly, all of their thoughts where interrupted by the sound of the door of the hallway opening. Leo and Mikey instantly stood up and walked to the glass wall in front of them to see who entered the hallway, while Raph didn't even bothered to stand. They then saw Sophie coming inside again, but this time, they were three guards with her.

"How was the food, turtles?" She asked.

"Do you wanna try it for yourself? We saved you plenty." Raph said with hate.

"No thanks, Raphael. I already had waffles for breakfast." She replied loathing smile. "Are you ready for your tests?" She said, opening the cells and, before the turtles could make a move, the guards immobilized them and got them on handcuffs.

"Don't try anything unless you want to be electrocuted. Let's go." Sophie ordered as they all started walking out of the hallway.

"Let us go!" Raph kept yelling as his brothers also tried to resist, but the guards kept pushing them forward and electrocuting them so that they would walk.

Finally, they arrived to a room full of people in white, some more guards, lots of technological equipment and three beds with stipes in the middle of the room.

As soon as they entered the room and saw their surroundings, the turtles started fighting even harder to free themselves from the guards, but they kept getting electrocuted.

"Okay guys, please help me to lie one turtle on each bed." Sophie asked to the guards.

"Please! Stop doing this to us!" Mikey cried with frustration as three guards immobilized him, took him to the bed on the right side and secured him to it.

The same happened to Raph and Leo, who also kept screaming ant trying to fight while the guards kept electrocuting and hitting them. Raph ended tied up to the bed on the left and Leo on the one in the middle. Once the three of them were settled, one of the scientists started talking loudly.

"Turtles! I need you to stop shouting in order to explain what we're going to do today. If you don't quit it right now, we're not going to explain anything to you and we'll just proceed to do the test right away."

The three of them controlled themselves and stopped shouting. They at least wanted to know how dangerous would the experiment be before those scientists started.

"Thank you." The same man continued talking. "I'm Dr. Lowell Saunders and I'm in change of the science department of this company. What we're about to do today is pretty simple and harmless. Right now, you are tied up for your own safety, but you don't have nothing to worry about. To start today's test, we're going to place an IV on your arms to be able to apply the required medication easily, as well as some electrodes on some parts of your body to monitor your brain waves, pulse, etc. Once that done, well inject you a medicine that will make you enter an induced dreaming. This will make you enter your unconscious. With our technology, we'll be able to listen and see what is going on inside as well as control some of the things going on with your dream but, what you'll see on your dream will be mostly created by you and your memories. The purpose of this test is to know you better but, mostly, find out if you know a way to create more mutants. In the dream, you will have no idea that what you're living is not real. So, before we start, do anyone of you know where do you come from and how to create more of you?"

The turtles looked at each other desperate. Even though they hated it, the three of them knew exactly the answer of that question.

"No." Leo claimed.

"What about you two?" The scientists asked referring to Raph and Mikey.

"We don't know anything and, even if we did, we wouldn't tell you a damn thing." Raph yelled with anger.

"Yeah, what he said." Mikey talked.

"Fine then, let's start the test."

As he gave the order, lots of scientists started surrounding the beds. This time, Mikey wasn't the only one that was screaming and fighting them. Leo and Raph were sick of those scientists and if they could make their job harder, they would do it.

"Stay away from me!" Mikey kept screaming.

"We need guards to help us hold him down." One of the scientists raised his voice.

"No! Stop this! Please!" Mikey kept begging.

In no time, three guards arrived to where Mikey was and held him still.

Mikey was terrified and tired of everything. All he could hear were his two brothers screaming at the scientists and Raph being electrocuted by one of the guards. All he could see were scientists all around him, placing electrodes on his plastron, head, wrists and ankles. Suddenly, he felt someone sticking a needle in his right forearm, but all Mikey could do was scream.

"The blue one is done." He heard one of the scientists scream from the other side of the room.

"The orange is ready too." One of the men dressed in white around him announced.

"What about the red one?" Dr. Saunders asked.

"Almost done, this one is a hard one." One woman said.

After some seconds, the woman notified that Raph was ready too.

"Alright then, let's get started." Dr. Saunders said with a smile. "Now, turtles, before we start, if you have something to say about your origins, say it now."

"Fuck you!" Raph yelled.

"That's what I thought. You can inject the substance now." Dr. Saunders ordered.

"No!" Was the only thing Mikey could say before the feeling of the liquid entering his forearm. It burned.

Mikey tried to move but he started feeling weaker and weaker. He looked around him. Everything started moving in slow motion and the voices started to sound with echo and as if they were far away. He began to see dark spots that grew bigger until everything was completely dark.

So, finally I get to post this chapter! I'm sorry for the delay, but I don't like uploading chapters if the next one is not already written and the next chapter it's being really difficult to write. I've already wrote what two of the turtles dreamed but I'm still missing one of them. Every dream ended up being way too long so I thought about uploading each dream as a different chapter with just some days in between them so that the chapter won't be extremely long.

Anyways, I hope that you liked this chapter and be sure not to miss the next ones because I really put lots of effort in them.

Don't forget to favorite and follow this story so that you won't miss any chapter because we're arriving to the end of it. Also, I would really appreciate you to leave a review with your opinion. It make me really happy to know what you guys think of this story. Thank you to the ones who leave reviews! You always draw a smile on my face and always make me want to continue this story 3

See you later! Bye!
