Okay buckoos, got a few notes for you guys. This chapter is to serve as more of a reference guide for me than just an author's note for you guys.
1. The Compound Layout
I feel like I've been all over the place with the Compound layout since I started this story. I haven't been able to find any guides on the interwebs about how the Compound is laid out so I've just been guessing and sometimes things get moved around and floors get forgotten (I spend days forgetting there are at least 3 floors to the compound). So here's a general guide of how the floors look (with the rooms in no particular order and bathrooms on each floor are a given.)
First Floor - Courtyard - Kitchen - Dining room - Servants quarters (these are like at the back of the compound out of the way) - Foyer (this is like right after the courtyard, before the drawing-room) - Drawing-room.
Second Floor - Wolf Den - Parlor - Study - Living room - Piano room - Library - Den/TV Room.
Third Floor - Freya's workshop - Klaus's studio - Everybody's bedrooms.
Now, I know this changes somethings because I wrote in a previous chapter how Freya's workshop wasn't far from Elijah's bedroom, and I'm sorry but this new layout makes writing easier for me. If you remember any rooms in the Mikaelson household I've left off this list, review with it and I'll add it to whichever floor I think it goes on.
2. Mikael's Abuse
No one has really commented on this recently but I thought since I'm making an A/N might as well address it.
Klaus mentions in the show how none of his siblings were ever abused to the same extent he was, but I kinda think that's unrealistic, only because I don't think the show ever explained why Mikael hated Klaus so much before finding out he wasn't genetically his. Like, when Klaus killed Mikael in front of Freya before asking him why he hated him so much, I thought we were going to get an answer but Mikael was kinda just like...'IDK but I love Freya', and I could just never accept that as an answer.
It kinda seems like they wanted us to believe it was just because Mikael thought Niklaus was weak when he was a child and thought beating him on a regular basis would make him tougher but even still, I think as some point his other children would show weaknesses too (as children do because they are children) and he should, theoretically, react with the same anger.
Therefore, the Mikael in my story has historically abused all of his children (with the exceptions of Rebekah, Freya, and occasionally Finn (for the sake of Freya)) but since Niklaus was so 'weak' as a child, he was on the receiving end of more abuse than the others.
3. Specific Ages
So, I made an Oopsie when writing Oliver. When he's first introduced, I said he was 3 but in the last chapter I made him 4. So I'm about to lay out everyone specific ages just so there's no more confusion for me, and you guys. This will be the specific age they are currently or, if they're vampires, the age they were when they were turned.
These ages are not cannon, they're made up for the benefit of this story.
Vincent - 45
Freya - 30
Elijah - 32
Niklaus - 30
Hayley - 25
Kol - 20
Marcel - 19
Josh - 19
Davina - 18
Lora -18
Rebekah - 17
Izzy - 16
Finn - 34/14
Hope - 14
Sebastian - 14
Oliver - 4
As you can see, in this story, I've made Freya the same age as Elijah because I'm making the assumption that Dahlia started using the spell to keep them young when Freya was really young and so she didn't technically start living and aging properly until she returned to her family (and the 12 years in stasis kept her from aging too). Y'all probably already figured that out, but just in case, thought I'd explain lol.
