Normal POV
"I should ride with Bumblebee since I can tell that he picked a car for his Alt form," Tracy says.
"It would be better for you to ride in a vehicle that you can easily get in and out of," Bobby adds.
"Alright, Bumblebee will take Tracy to the base," Optimus says.
"I'll ride with you," Bobby says.
"You don't have to do that. I can manage on my own," Tracy says.
Optimus and Bumblebee transform into their vehicle modes and activate their holoforms. The group does a double-take, seeing the 6''1' man in his middle thirties with short black hair and light brown eyes. He wears a leather jacket and matching shirt and jeans the same color as his robot form standing next to the semi. Along with a 5'8'' nineteen-year-old with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a yellow and black leather jacket, yellow t-shirt, and faded blue jeans. It's standing next to a yellow and black custom muscle car.
"What are those?" Ashley asks.
"It's a holoform, my old friend, Ratchet designed it so we can drive around Jasper without arising too much suspicion from the local population," Optimus replies.
"I think the outfit could use some work," Ashley says.
"Maybe - once we return and you three are informed on why we are here and assigned a guardian. You can assist Ratchet with reprograming my holoform program," Optimus says.
"We can't leave our cars at the gas station. They will get towed since they have out-of-state plates," Bobby says.
The group turns around and is shocked when they see a red 2010 Dodge Avenger, A tuxedo black 2010 Ford Fusion, and a white 2010 Scion XB.
Optimus' POV
"You don't have to worry about your vehicles. My friends will assist me in driving them to your apartment in Amber Beach," Agent Fowler says as he gets out of the white vehicle and walks over to us.
Agent Fowler's remark as he walks up spooks the trio, causing them to jump. Tracy winces in pain as she lands on her right leg. She stumbles back. Bumblebee catches her again, but this time in his arms.
"Thank you, Bumblebee," Tracy says.
"You're welcome," Bumblebee says.
"How is it that Bumblebee's holoform can talk when he can't in his robot form?" Tracy says.
"Ratchet had some help from the human I'm protecting. His name is Raf. He, along with Ratchet, figured out how to translate the sounds I normally make when I speak okay English," Bumblebee says.
"That's amazing," Tracy says.
"Moving on to the important question, who is it that just scared us half to death?" Bobby asks.
"I'm sorry, special agent William Fowler, it's my job to be a lesion to Optimus and the rest of team prime," Agent Fowler says.
"How did you know where we were going?" Ashley asks.
"Ash, we did have the GPS on in our cars, remember," Tracy says.
"Right, I forgot," Ashley says.
"I have a better question. How" were you and your friends able to drive them when we have the keys?" Bobby asks.
"I contacted a dealership and explained it was an emergency. I needed a spare key for each vehicle," Agent Fowler says.
"Agent Fowler, once you unpacked all the items inside, feel free to find a new owner of the vehicle you drove," Tracy says.
"I'm afraid I can't do that without the owners' consent," Agent Fowler says.
"Agent Fowler, from how Tracy spoke just now, she is the owner of the vehicle you just got out of," I say.
"Why do you want to sell it?" Bumblebee asks.
"Because that thing isn't a car. It's just a metal box that has wheels and engine attached to it," Tracy says.
"Thank you for your help, agent Flower. We will head to the base while you head to Amber Beach," I say.
"Agent Fowler, before you go, I need to get something out of the car," Tracy says.
Tracy limps over to her car. She opens the driver's side door. I see Tracy has something wrapped around her knee as she comes back over to us.
"Okay, let's get going," Tracy says.
Ratchet's POV
I turn around to face the tunnel when I hear the sound of Bumblebee's engine as he drives into the base. I try not to get frustrated when I see a dog hop out of the backseat when Bumblebee's holoform pushes the driver's seat forward.
"Where did that dog come from?" I ask.
"Sorry, old friend, but the dog has a name. Her name is Sapphire. Her owner abandoned her," Optimus says after a young woman gets out of his alt mode.
"You didn't have to bring it along," I say.
"That's my fault. Sorry, while we were trying to get away, she found me and might have already decided that I'm her new owner," another young woman says as she winces in pain, trying to walk over to the dog.
"Patricia, your jumper's knee flared up again while you were trying to get away from the Decepticons, didn't it?" Matias asks as he walks over to Bumblebee.
"Yes, so I don't need an exam. It's not a life-threatening injury, so I'd appreciate it if everyone would stop treating me like I'm a four-year-old," Patricia says as she pushes Matias away.
Normal POV
At the Amber Beach Dinosaur Museum, the Rangers sit at a table in the Dino Bite Café. Kendal walks up to them with a clipboard in her hand.
"Any luck locating the three new energems Keeper told us about yesterday?" Tyler asks.
"Yes, Shelby and I rebuilt the e-tracer," Kendal says.
"Which fossil did you use, lady Morgan?" Ivan asks.
"We used DNA from a Dimorphodon fossil," Kendal says.
"That is the one that bonded to the Yellow energem?" Chase asks.
"Yes, the e-tracer located an energy signal coming from the desert just outside Jasper, Nevada," Kendal says.
"Do you know if the signal is from the Energem or zord?" Riley asks.
"I'm not sure, but I suggest that a few of us go and investigate," Kendal says.
"So, who is going, Lady Morgan?" Ivan asks.
"Ivan, I'd like you, Riley, Tyler to go. I'll be coming as well," Kendal says.
Ratchet's POV
As we enter the medical bay, Matias catches Tracy in his arms as she begins to lose her balance.
"Patricia, are you alright?" Matias asks as he scoops her up and carries her over to the bed.
"I'm fine, Uncle Matias. I just got a little dizzy, that's all," Patricia replies as Matias lays her down on the bed.
I walk over to them and activate my scanner. I noticed Tracy's arms begin to shake terribly as she tried to move back. Another dizzy spell must have hit her since she collapsed as soon as she moved an inch. I motion to Matias as he goes to get an IV as I run my scanner over her.
"How is she, Ratchet?" Matias asks as he puts the IV in Patricia's right arm.
"Well, her body temperature is slightly elevated, and my scan did also show the condition of her ACL to confirm her diagnosis of the jumper's knee. But, I still don't know why she has a fever," I reply.
"We may have to run a few tests, but I think Patricia might be dehydrated or could be exhausted," Matias says.
Matias finds what he needs and draws a small blood sample from Tracy's arm. Thanks to my modifications to the outdated human technology, the blood test results come back within a few minutes rather than an hour.
"Well, her Hematocrit levels (The percentage of red blood cells in the blood) is a tad high, as are her Hemoglobin, Albumin (Protein that keeps fluid from leaking out of blood vessels and that nourishes tissues and transports nutrients through the body) and Potassium levels," Matias says.
"So, she is dehydrated," I say.
"Yes, but not severely. She still should be on the IV for a few hours to be on the safe side," Matias says.
"My scan picked up a mild case of exhaustion as well," I add.
"I, for one, can't blame her for that. The last few days would have worn anyone out physically, mentally, and emotionally," Matias says
We leave the medical bay to allow Tracy to get some much-needed rest and meet up with the others.
"Ratchet, is there a way to bring up the image of Patricia's ACL on the computer in the command center?" Matias asks.
"Yes, but why?" I ask.
"I'd like to see it myself," Matias says.
I nod and bring up the image on the screen.
"Wow, I am amazed that it's still intact. It looks like it could come apart anytime," Matias says.
"Maybe it's just stubborn like all the women in the Ramirez family," June says as she walks in.
"That's true, June, but what concerns me is that none of her doctors considered the possibility of surgery last year when Patricia first had the fear she may have torn it after the state competition," Matias says.
"If she does need surgery, I'll donate a piece of my ACL if it will help quicken her recovery process," Bobby says.
"Bobby, I admire your spirit, but I'm not sure if the surgeon would agree to that since Patricia is still very young and the chances of it not working are 25% to 33%," Matias says.
"If it carries that much risk of failure, why would she even consider that option?" I ask.
"Because, Ratchet, Tracy told me she rather take the risk of not being able to dance again just to make her family happy," Bobby says.
"How would that work exactly?" Arcee asks.
"Tracy's relives and her parents have a job in the medical field, and she's always felt like the oddball. She wants to open up a dance studio someday in the hopes of encouraging other little girls and boys or whoever loves to dance to follow their dreams," Ashley says.
"I know she wanted to keep this a secret too, but she asked me to help her start a Youtube channel when we're in seventh grade," Bobby says.
"Wait, was that why she looked so sad last year when Mary and I went with her to New York when she did the Auditions for Juilliard?" Matias asks.
"What is Juilliard?" Bulkhead asks.
"It is one of the best performing arts schools in the country," Matias says.
"Did she get into the school?" Optimus asks.
Ashley and Bobby look over at each other with a mixture of anxiousness and guilt on their faces.
"She told us not to tell anyone," Bobby says.
"But, a week ago, she called the school and thanked them for considering her, but said she couldn't accept. She wasn't sure if she'd be emotionally ready due to the fact she was so stressed out. She was also feeling like a gigantic failure to her family for not going to school that would help to prepare her to get a career in the medical field. She also mentioned having just lost her Aunt and how close she was to her," Ashley adds.
"Why would Tracy consider herself a failure for following her dreams?" Optimus asks.
"I have a feeling this is my brother's doing. I asked him and his wife to raise Patricia as I would, but he ignored me. Instead, he raised her to believe that there is only one career path for our family," Matias growls through his teeth as he clenches his fists in anger.
Just then, an alarm goes off on Matias' watch. He takes a few deep breaths to calm down then turns it off.
"It looks like my brother got lucky. I'll have to call him tomorrow to discuss things; I need to head home to get ready for work. Ratchet, could you give me a ride?" Matias says.
"Of course," I reply before changing into the alt mode.
"When Patricia wakes up and wants to head to the apartment to move in, make sure she doesn't do any lifting," Matias says.
"I'll make sure that I do all the labor, and she is management," Bobby jokes.
"Thank you, Robert," Matias says.
