Thank you so much for the kind reviews and comments!

Amphitrite made sure she could make all the noise in the world the next morning. Pots and pans were clanging together as well with purposely heavy footsteps heading up and down the stairs.

I flinched at every sound she made. My head pounding at everything above the volume of a whisper. I put a pillow over my head to try to drown out the noise. I let a out a sigh of resignation as the pillow provided no relief.

My eyes slowly focused to the digital clock on the nightstand. I squinted as the light made my head throb even more. 5:37 am. If I was going to go to school then I should be awake at this time. I have the rest of the week off due to the "accident", there is no reason that I should be awake.

I inwardly groaned as sleep left my mind, awareness filling the void. I sat up and swung my leg over to the side of the bed. I blindly reached for the crutches by the nightstand. I hesitantly stood up with the crutches support and made my way to the door.

My father's voice reached my ears before I could fully make it out of my room, "Go back to bed Percy. It's too early for you to be up. I'll talk to Amphitrite to quiet down a bit. Do you need anything?"

My eyes focused on the disheveled figure by the stairs. He look like he has just woken up, probably due to his wife. He's still wearing pajamas and his hair is sticking up in all directions, I probably didn't look any better.

"Just some ibuprofen and maybe a glass of water." I answered after a minute.

"Alright I'll grab it. Go back to bed" He let out a yawn and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, before turning back to the stairs.

I stepped back into my room and crawled back to bed. I stared at the ceiling willing sleep to come back to me. Poseidon knocked quietly on my door before opening it with a glass of water in his hand. He set the glass and the pills on the nightstand and helped me sit back up to drink it.

"Is your head better?" He asked in a low tone trying to be self aware of his actions. I still winced at the volume though as another wave of agony flowed through my head.

"Not really" I mumbled. I cradled the glass in my hand and took tiny sips from it cautious of my nausea.

He sighed, "Alright. Hopefully the ibuprofen kicks in soon. Maybe some more rest will help it as well." He quietly exited the room leaving me alone in peace.

I continued to will sleep to follow me as I stare at the ceiling, and eventually it came.

"Percy you awake?" I hear a quiet knock on the door.

I cracked an eye open. The sun filtered through the cracks of the blinds. I quickly closed my eye at the sudden brightness. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, "I guess". I said yawning.

The door opened and Poseidon was standing there with a goofy grin on his face. He was also covered in flour from head to toe. I raised an eyebrow as the scent of blueberries filled the space. In his hands were a plate of waffles- wait they're blue. How does he know about that?

I stared at the plate wide eyes. My mom always cooked pancakes or waffles blue, since that was my favorite color. It was always our tradition. But how does my dad know about that?

I started to go through all the conversations that I could remember with my dad, to see if I ever mentioned something about blue food. Poseidon once again broke through my racing thoughts, "Happy Birthday Percy!"

"What?". I looked up from the plate. Is it really today? I never really thought about it after the accident in May. I had other important adjustments to worry about. I haven't connected the dots from the date to the event of my birth. Which is weird since I usually gloat about it every year.

It was Poseidon's turn to raise a brow, "Did you forget it was your birthday? It's the eighteenth of August today. You're officially sixteen."

A sixteen-year-old who can't drive I thought darkly. I pushed that thought aside and stabbed the waffles with a fork. "Did you cook this by yourself?" I asked staring at a patch of flour on his shirt.

"I did. But beware I might have overcooked it a little. Amphitrite already left for work before I made it, so I had no supervision."

I snorted in response and took a bite. It wasn't as good as mom's but it could've been worse I suppose. I smiled, "It's not bad. Why are they blue?"

He tilted his head, " I believe your mother mentioned it once that she always cooked you blue waffles on your birthday. I wanted to keep somethings the same even with all these changes lately."

I celebrated every birthday with my mother after they separated. This is the first I'm not gonna celebrate with her. This thought made me feel hollow on the inside. I hurriedly tried to make my mind go somewhere else.

"Thank you! Is Hestia still coming for dinner tonight?"

"About that. Hestia called again this morning and everyone kinda wants to see you. I think we might have a bigger audience than just Hestia. Unless you want it to only be Hestia? I'm sure they will understand due to your injuries if you want a smaller crowd."

"Everyone as in everyone, or just the usual?" I asked hesitantly.

"Everyone minus Demeter, Hephaestus, Ares, and Artemis. So yeah the usual." He said.

My father's side is quite huge, and very interesting to say the least. Uncle Zeus did make the news for being America's youngest current father, back in the day.

"Since it's your special day, I remember you asking for something a couple years ago. I was hoping you didn't change your mind about it, because I got it for your present." My father drew my attention back.

I crinkled my brows intrigued. What did I ask for? I desperately tried to rack my brain for any hints. Before I could voice any of these hints, my dad opened the door and whistled.

My eyebrows shot up as a a huge mound of black fur jumped on the bed. I was getting assaulted by a wet tongue licking my face. I put my arms around my face and laughed. Another whistle filled the air, and the beast returned to my father's side.

"The previous owner named her Mrs. O'Leary. We can change the name if you want. She's a Newfoundland, and she is two. You still wanted a dog, right?"

"Yeah. But I thought you said Amphitrite didn't like cats or dogs?"

"She doesn't. Though it took a lot of convincing to do on my end, we were able to agree on it. Mrs. O'Leary is very well trained. She is also trained as a emotional support dog, she can sense your emotions and can help bring them back to normal. I thought it might help you a bit after..." He trailed off not really knowing how to continue.

"Thank you! Really, thanks!" I said holding out my hand for Mrs. O'Leary to sniff.

"Yeah. Um.. Do u want to do anything today? It's 10:30 in the morning, we have time to do something. We have a couple movies downstairs if you want to watch them?"

"Sure!" I said. I grabbed my crutches and followed my father down the stairs. Mrs. O'Leary was by my side carefully treading down the stairs.

I plopped down on the sofa. Mrs. O'Leary copied my actions by plopping down next to my feet on the floor. She was too big to lay with me on the couch.

"Alright we have Finding Nemo, Aqua man, The Little Mermaid, Jaws, Megalodon, Soul Surfer..."

I snorted, "I can sense a pattern here. All of them have a theme of the ocean."

Poseidon's face turned red, "Oh I guess I didn't make that connection... Well you know how much I like the sea and all. But they all are one of my favorites, and come on you can't tell me that you don't like Sebastian singing Under the Sea."

"Alright The Little Mermaid it is" I said with a smile.

Poseidon gave back a victorious smile in return.

After the third movie of the day, the front door opened and Poseidon and I turned to glance back at the intruder which happened to be my stepmother. She had a sack full of groceries in each arm. As soon as she saw me her eyes harden, but her gaze didn't faze me anymore. Her expression quickly changed as soon as she saw Poseidon in the same room as I.

"Happy Birthday Percy! I hope your day has been going great so far! Poseidon dear, what did you do the kitchen?!?" Amphitrite let out a yell at the end as she walked towards the kitchen.

Poseidon has an expression of doom on his face. "Oh Shit! I forgot to clean up the kitchen." He jumped and ran towards the kitchen.

I remembered as well that Poseidon was left alone while cooking. I hurriedly grabbed the crutches and hobbled to the kitchen with Mrs. O'Leary trailing besides me. I covered my mouth with my hand in shock.

The counter tops were covered in flour like mountains of flour. Then it seems to be a sort of an explosion by the microwave. Flour mixed with blue batter splattered the stove and microwave. The blue remnants of the batter trailed up to the ceiling.

Mrs. O'Leary made her way to the oven and started to lick up the mess. I couldn't help but let a chuckle escape my mouth and hand.

Amphitrite's face was priceless. Her face turned from shock to anger to horror in a matter of seconds. "You are never ever gonna be left alone while cooking. You hear me Olympian? We are supposed to have guests over in less than an hour and this is what I come home to? Now I have a fricking dog cleaning up a mess!"

Amphitrite shooed the dog off and I followed her to the couch, leaving my father alone with that woman. I scratched her ears affectionately and she tilted her head towards me enjoying the attention.

The front door opened again and Mrs. O'Leary got up to go greet the person.

"Why is there fucking a bear in here?!?" Triton shrieked and pressed his back against the door in fear. Mrs. O'Leary trudged closer in response.

"Triton! Watch your language young man! Help your father clean up this disaster he made in the kitchen, before the guests arrive. For the beast that's Percy's new dog Mrs. O'Leary.

Triton didn't move from his spot. His eyes remained wide and glued to Mrs. O'Leary, "That is not a dog! That thing is way too massive to be a dog. I think whoever gave you this animal scammed you." Triton voice raised several octaves higher once Mrs. O'Leary stepped closer to sniff and greet him.

Poseidon stepped out of the kitchen to toss a towel to Triton. "Nope. She's a dog. Now come help me clean this batter off the ceiling ." Poseidon walked away presumably cleaning the ceiling.

Triton looked down at the rag in disgust before saying, "Again? I thought mom banned him from cooking the last time this happened." He sighed and stalked off to the kitchen.

I raised my brows in response. This isn't the first time he did something like this? I wonder what other catastrophes he created with the culinary arts.

There was a quiet knock on the door. A chorus of quiet curses murmured coming from the kitchen. Poseidon quickly wiped his hands on a towel before quickly opening the door.

"Hello Hestia! It is finally nice to see you in person again, it's been too long. Here let me take that for you." Poseidon hugged Hestia and took her bags and set them aside.

"Greetings well met Poseidon! It has indeed been too long since we saw each other last. We should try to improve on that aspect, as well as better communication with each other and our livelihoods. Don't you agree Poseidon?" Hestia said with a smile.

"Absolutely. I am sorry for the lack on my end. I will certainly do better in the future. Amphitrite is cooking dinner, and Percy is over there with the dog. If you would excuse me I'm gonna continue to help Triton clean a mess in the kitchen." Poseidon said, taking his leave to clean the kitchen.

"Oh Percy it is so nice to see you again. Happy Birthday sweetie! You've grown so much since the last time I've seen you." Hestia quickly walked over and enveloped me in a big hug, "I'm so sorry." She whispered the last part.

I nodded in reply not knowing what to say and continued to hug her. We broke apart and I smiled when Mrs. O'Leary came over and rubbed against my remaining leg. I petted her as she continued to wag her massive tail.

"I see you got a new friend." Hestia commented with a chuckle. She also reached down to pat the dog's head.

"Don't know why he thought befriending a bear was a good idea." Triton said walking from the kitchen wiping off - batter? Or was that flour?- from his fingers onto a towel. "Hi aunt Hestia! It's been awhile." Triton greeted with a smile.

"It has Triton. You have also grown since the last time I saw you! Oh both of you two look more like your father each time I see you." Hestia grabbed Triton and pulled him into a hug.

"Speaking of your father, I heard he was cleaning a mess in the kitchen. I assume he was the cause of said mess."

Triton nodded, "Indeed he was the cause, but thankfully it wasn't as bad as last time."

What was last time? My curiosity spiked to new levels as I wondered the possibilities of destruction that could happened in a kitchen.

Hestia snorted, "I don't think it could be worse than the time Poseidon and Zeus was in charge of making mother's birthday cake twenty years ago."

I tilted my head to the side a little bit trying to remember if someone told me this story. I don't have any recollection of hearing this story.

"I don't think I have heard about this one..." I said scrunching my brows together. Triton also shook his head in agreement.

"Alright boys well I have a story for you. I think Amphitrite will also enjoy this story." Hestia walked into the kitchen while both of us followed.

"Hello Amphitrite. It just occurred to me that I haven't told you about the time Poseidon and Zeus attempted to bake a cake". Hestia said with a smile while Poseidon groaned.

"- So Poseidon decided to pour water onto the grease fire in attempts to put it out-" a hesitant knock on the door interrupted Hestia's retelling of a story.

Poseidon got up from his pouting hunch and went to open the door with a happy Newfoundland trailing after him.

"Hades it is a pleasure to see you again. Persephone it is also great to see you, it has been a couple of years since I saw you last. Nico you grown quite bit too. Welcome, everyone is in the kitchen laughing at my expense."

"Ooo, that's my favorite activity." Hades said with his usual deep voice. The four of them plus a happy dog came back into the kitchen.

Hestia stood up to greet them enveloping Hades in a hug first, then went to hug Nico. "You boys need to stop growing so much. You're almost taller than me now." Hestia pulled back with a smile.

"I just figured out that Poseidon didn't tell his family about the time Zeus and him made a cake. So I decided to fill them in on it."

Hades snorted, "That's a good story. It seems Poseidon is making a habit about keeping everyone uninformed." Hades glances at me at the last part. The air began to feel awkward and I decided to excuse myself for them to talk.

"I'm gonna take Mrs. O'Leary out. Nico you coming?" I asked pushing my self out of the chair and grabbing the crutches. I could feel the eyes staring at my stump, but nevertheless I made it to the door. I glanced back to see if Nico was gonna join me. Nico had wide eyes staring at my leg, but seem to snap out of it and made his way to the door. I whistled for Mrs. O'Leary to follow me.

I stepped to outside and plopped down in a patio chair. The backyard was quite large, it had a pool in the right back corner. The yard was neatly trimmed to perfection, a fence boarders the lawn.A great tall old oak tree stood in the center, providing shade over the patio.

Nico stood there awkwardly, still staring at my stump. He hasn't changed much since the last time I saw him. He was taller of course, but he still was skin and bones. His skin resembled somebody who hasn't stepped a foot outside in years. He wore dark clothes; a black sweatshirt, black jeans, and black shoes. His black hair hung above his shoulders had bangs that draped in his eyes.

I sighed, "Are you gonna keep staring at my leg or..."

Nico snapped out of it and turned red at my observation. "Sorry it's just... Shocking." He cleared his throat and looked at Mrs. O'Leary who is happily sniffing the flowers.

"You haven't made any contact in months though. I wasn't prepared to hear you were in town, or to see that" He gestured to my leg. "I only found out that you were in town yesterday by Thalia. My father didn't even know about it. Thalia or Jason didn't tell us the reason why you were here in the school season. It wasn't until my dad called Poseidon this morning that I learned what happened. So forgive me, I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around it."

"Me too Nic's me too. I only got to New York last week and I'm still not use to it. I'm not use to the time change or growing accustom to my step mother and Triton for that manner. Most of all I'm not used to not having a mother or Paul in my life anymore." I said with a sigh.

Nico only let out a dark chuckle, "You will never get use to not having a mother. The step mother is always a slap to the face of a 'replacement'. At least you have more memories of your mother than I had with mine."

I cringed as I remembered I wasn't the only one who suffered a close loss. The air turned sour at the tension. I wasn't the only one who sense the change of emotion, as Mrs. O'Leary trotted over and brushed up against Nico.

"I didn't know you had a dog." Nico murmured petting her. She licked his hand in return before nuzzling her face in his legs. His demeanor change from his usual depressive self to something a bit more cheerful.

"Yeah I got her today, her previous owner named her Mrs. O'Leary. I probably gonna keep that name though."

Nico continued to pet the dog. It stayed silent for awhile, and I was thankful for the shade. The tree helped cover the sun so it didn't make my concussed head hurt more than it should. I took that as a blessing.

The back door opened and closed both Nico and I turned to see who it was. Thalia and Jason were the culprits and they were wearing frowns.

"It's getting heated in there. We should probably stay out here for awhile." Jason commented looking at the backdoor. Thalia snorted in agreement.

"Happy birthday Percy!" Jason said with a smile. Thalia also wished me a happy birthday. I turned to Nico, who looked up from petting Mrs. O'Leary.

"Oh yeah... Happy Birthday Percy!" Nico said then continued to play with the dog. I rolled my eyes.

"What happened to you yesterday Percy? You weren't in school today. Apollo also mentioned something about you falling down a set of stairs that sent you to an emergency room." Thalia asked with a raised brow.

I groaned, "I fell down a set of stairs after ninth period. I hit my head on the wall and got a concussion."

"I told that to Annabeth and she doesn't believe that story at all. Plus Apollo said he even doubted that story." Thalia stayed with a brow still raised.

"What does she know? What can she possibly theorize what happened? I simply fell down the stairs and hit my head hard on the wall. And you trust Apollo? Have you heard his poems or other reasonings he sprouts?"

"Well actually both Annabeth and Apollo came into an agreement, which I thought that was an impossible task. They both said for you to end up with that much head trauma you would had to have a running start, or had a force behind that fall. So you can't run, that's for sure. That leaves us with something forced you down those stairs. Unless you lied about the stairs all together." Thalia had her hands on her hips, with a don't-fool-with-me expression.

I sighed and threw my head back. I instantly regretted doing that, it made my head throb even more. "I don't know why everyone is overthinking it. I just simply did what Ms. Dodd's ask me to do, and I failed. I hit my head during the fall. That's it." I rubbed my aching forehead.

Thalia looked like she wanted to clarify more, but her phone buzzed. She took it out of her pocket to look at it.

"Is it Luke again?" Jason asked with a frown. Even Nico grimaced at the name from where he was rubbing Mrs. O'Leary's belly.

My mind flashed to a Luke in my fifth hour. The same Luke who pushed me down the stairs.

"Whose Luke?" I asked trying to sound casual.

"Thalia's ex. He's a real jerk. Never liked him, and I basically like everyone. He's the lead quarterback on our football team. He is such a narcissist too. Plus he hit on Annabeth in front of Thalia while they were dating. There isn't enough vile words that I can use to describe him." Jason said bitterly.

"Does this Luke have a scar over his eye. I have a Luke in my fifth period that fits that description."

"Yeah that's the Luke. And yes it is Luke who's trying to contact me. He thinks Percy and I are a thing." Thalia ended with a shudder.

"Ew. Why on earth does he think that?" I shuddered as well from the thought.

"I honestly don't know. I think the students were making rumors about us yesterday morning. I already told him we are cousins but he doesn't believe me."

"Cake is ready!" Hestia called out from a window.

We all ran or in my case hobbled to the kitchen. My uncles and my father were all glaring at each other by the time we walked in. Hera and Zeus took their eyes off of them and looked at me. Well they're more like staring at my stump.

I awkwardly took a seat and cleared my throat in hopes of clearing the previous tension.

Hera frowned at me. "Percy isn't it polite to greet your family after not seeing them in over a year?" She raised her brow at the end.

"I don't know, isn't it polite that you don't stare at a person with a disability?"

"Burn!" Apollo said into his drink. Poseidon gave off one of the biggest smiles. The cousins had to hide their chuckles. Zeus looked shocked, Hera was fuming.

"Alright cake time!" Hestia put down a vanilla cake covered in blue frosting, with sixteen lit candles.

They all sang me a happy birthday. I blew out the candles and we were all eating the cake. The whole table was silent. I was perfectly fine with that, I was enjoying the cake.

"So Percy. How's your head? It looked like you banged it up really hard yesterday." Apollo asked.

Darn it! "It's a bit better. It's still painful but I'm not nauseous anymore. So I take that as a good sign."

Apollo hummed in agreement and continued to eat his cake.

Soon enough everyone finished up and wished me well and left. My dad and Amphitrite helped clean up the mess that was left. Triton looked like he was going to pass out.

I scooted my chair back and got up, "Alright I'm gonna head up to bed for the night."

"Goodnight Percy! I hope you had a great birthday!" My dad said after putting a plate into the dishwasher.

I smiled, "I did. Thanks dad. Goodnight!"

I made my way towards the stairs with Mrs. O'Leary on my tail. I laid on my bed and Mrs. O'Leary joined curling up on the foot of the bed. The bed was a queen, but she took up most of the space.

My phone lit up from where it was on the charger. I looked at it, I had three missed messages from Rachel. I sighed. I've been ghosting her for the past week. Its just too much at this time. I will contact her later when stuff around here calms down a little.

Warning long author's note:

Hey y'all! Just wanted to say thank you all for leaving comments and following or favoriting this story! It means a lot to me!

So over the next couple weeks I might re-edit some chapters for grammar errors, or add some explanation's like why I choose this character and so forth. I'm not doing anything major just to do some touch ups here and there. I'm gonna show you a quick example for an explanation.

-Mrs. O'Leary- I have chosen Mrs. O'Leary to be a Newfoundland because in the Percy Jackson series she is portrayed as a huge hell hound. Newfoundland's are huge! I accidentally did mistake one as a bear once (Triton you are not alone).

So I'll probably do that. I'll still update don't worry.

Another thing. I've been thinking. After I'm done with this story, would you guys like a sequel, but in Poseidon's point of view? - I'll probably still do it regardless of what you say- though feedback is very much appreciated :).

Alright I included a family tree below this. It includes the characters ages and some other things.
