Oh my dearest angels, go and pray to the gods for me...
Time, something that means so much to some and then so little to others. Time, something that has no tangible existence in the realm of reality yet rules and governs all with a fist of steel. Time is what causes the crops to rise and the sun to fall. Time awards us memories of loves held near and dear, along with memories best left behind. Memories that hold us to our humanity, and lessons that remind us of our own monstrous escapades.
Tho many these day view tales from times long past as no more than folklore and children's tales,... sometimes deep within those lay more than just a kernels worth of truth. When that comes to pass you best hold on tight, because trust me when I say things can and will never be the same for you again.
And this just so happens to be one of those times...I do hope your ready for it...
The battle of the long night had come sooner than any could have expected. It seemed like not more than a handful of seconds ago they had all either been preparing, or sleeping as well as just socializing with those still awake and inviting for conversation. Sharing tales of conquests long forgotten over tankards of northern ale while sitting around a blazing hearth. It's heat giving off the barest amount of a homely feel to the room and men, tho it was dulled over and burred as it collided with the stark reality that was why they were all here to begin with.
The men did their bests tho try as they might to shake off the overhanging doom and gloom that seemed to shadow every smile, curt each laugh and cheer as tales of old filled their surroundings and minds. The songs beauties tho...are always a stark contrast to the hellish realities they were all made about.
The wind seemed to die down to silence as the Norths king stilled to warm his hands over one of the many pit fires outside. The entirety of Winterfell seemed to drop another 20 degrees as every source of firelight dimmed down to no more than half their former strength. Some of them even a few of the larger pit fires that had just been stacked fresh with dry wood from the underground storehouses were fully extinguished and shorthly after grew covered with sheer blue ice.
Without removing his eyes from the path leading out of winterfell into blackness rimmed by tall jagged trees he orders the few men beside him to go gather his generals.
No more than 10 seconds after his men where out of his sight, he began to feel the ground beneath him shake and quiver slightly in a slow humdrum rhythm. His sword is drawn within the next second and he stands alone at the ready, ready to face on whatever force was moving his way. He could smell the blood and filth wafting silently around him to flood his mind and senses. His grip on his sword tightens as the vibrations coming through his feet grows enough to where he can feel it within his bones. After another moment passes the silence for him is split sharply by the clattering of reigns, pounding hooves, and blood chilling whales and cries of pained and suffering men.
She runs swiftly on bare feet through the black stone corridors of Castle Dragonstone, tears streaming down her flushed alabaster cheeks as her heart shatters more and more at what she was running from.
He was not more than 3 stride lengths behind her as he tried to get her back. Sounds of heavy breathing, and hard souled boots agains stone emanated from him in his pursuit to right the greatest wrong he had ever committed. Just the memory of how her face at one second seemed to glow with a youthful happy radiance, only to falter and dull over at the slightest uttering of his words, broke him down further with every hard step closer towards her he took. And then when he had thought his heart could break no more, the look of sadness and empty loneliness that came upon her features tore his soul apart. For that sin,he would pay the penultimate price for the rest of his days.
Finally reaching close enough to grab onto one of her wrists, he pulls her back into his chest as he grinds them both to a haunt. For a moment they both catch theirs breaths until she starts to fight to break her way free. He was the one who had rejected her, he was the one responsible for all the pain and agony she was experiencing now and all she yearned to do was break free of his vice like hold and run till her legs would no longer carry her weight, nay she fall of off the edge of the world.
As she struggled he wrapped two massive arms around her midsection, both holding her arms down agains her stomach but also firmly pressed against his torso. In one sharp move he twists her around partially, locking his golden-red ringed eyes with her glowing gemstone purple ones. "I will never stop loving you Dany..."
