Amber crashed against the wall of a building with a hard thud. Through gritted teeth and sheer determination, she pushed against the wall and flew back up to the godly being with a war cry. As she closed the distance between him and the god, she summoned forth eight ethereal blades, seven of them rotating around her while the eighth sword was clutched between her hands.

"How naïve!" Her lover said.

A book appeared before him and out came three flying disks of water. Thinking quickly, Amber flapped her angel wings and faced the incoming disks head on. With a mental though, three of the eight ethereal blades met with the water disks. Upon collision, the disks and the ethereal swords exploded in a watery shower and magical essence; creating this beautiful yet dangerous firework show if seen from a distance. A smirk crawled up on Amber's face as she realized that the battle was moving to her favour. With her lover running out of spells to use and with her being too close for his superior range, she knew she had won.

Unfortunately, Fate wasn't on her side that day. As she closed the distance, her lover swapped from using the book to a pair of purple gauntlets and greaves. In a display of martial arts, her lover raised his right foot and blocked her incoming sword with the shin guard of his greaves. To make matters worse, while the sword was interlocked with his shin guard, he kicked her sword away. She tried to reach for another sword only to feel the air in her being punched out.

In a split moment, she looked below her abdomen to see that the god had hit her there. The gauntlet then began to glow a bright purple before she was sent back down to the ground like a meteor with an ethereal pink fist acting as the propellant , kicking up dust in the process. Once the smoke cleared, Amber laid on the crater that she had cause, her form spread out, breathing heavily and just the feeling of pain all over her body.

The sound of her lover's mantle landing just at the edge of the crater caught her attention. Too much in pain to move, she instead used her eyes to glance over to him.

"A great improvement from before." He spoke.

"Thanks… I… guess…" she panted.

"I suppose this would be a great time to stop our training."

"…great."

Despite her body screaming at her to remain in the current position, she knew that she had to move sooner or later. She chose the former. Slowly, she sat up, giving pained gasps along the way. Once she was standing up, she gave her wings one strong flap that flew her out of the crater. A few meters in front of her, her lover/god was standing and waiting for her. On his hand was a bottle with three golden rings around it filled with a red liquid.

"Drink this. It should help alleviate the pain." He said while handing her a Super Healing Potion.

While she questioned the contents of the bottle, she didn't bother asking. Since it was coming from the person that she's currently dating, she knew to trust him. Emptying the contents of the bottle, his words seemed to ring true as the pain in her body was no longer there. Her godly boyfriend looked at her with a scrutinizing look.

"Good to see that your new body is adapted to handle the contents of the Super Healing Potion."

Amber looked to the bottle, what a comical name. You'd think he'd name it something more cryptic. After all, a potion that's capable of restoring lost limbs almost sounds like it deserves a more ancient name.

"How do you even make this stuff?" She asked him.

To which he happily explained. "Well, the Super Healing Potion is a mix of Lesser Healing Potion, Healing Potion and Greater Healing Potion. The ingredients required to make the three aforementioned potions are complex. Perhaps I'll teach that to you in another time. To make a long story short, what you're drinking right now has the essence of four mystical essence that make up the universe."

After saying his bit regarding the powerful potion, he returned his gaze at her. "Now, enough with the potion. I'd like to hear where you made mistakes and how would you think of improving them."

Amber and the god spent the rest of that day, talking, learning, and enjoying each other's company.

It has been a week since the crisis that broke down the walls of every kingdom on Remnant. As of now, every kingdom has been fighting tooth and nail to make sure that the black tide of Grimm never entered their city.

Meanwhile, on Mistral, the struggle for control is still high. Grimm had been pouring continuously on the broken walls, giving huntsmen and huntresses no rest at all. At the moment, casualties are still zero but with how hard the black tide has been pounding the Kingdom, it will not be long before the first wounded show up.

Atlas was the most unaffected by these changes due to its floating island. It's former capital city, Mantle was also safe due to Atlas' superior technology, quickly cutting down any Grimm that dared take a step closer, specialists and top-of-the-line robots guarded the former capital with an iron grip leaving almost nothing unchanged for the floating city.

Vacuo suddenly had a large gathering around a large apartment block surrounded by plenty of magical sentries, of which obliterated any signs of Grimm in the blink of an eye. Camps have been made around the apartment block and from the looks of it, people were showing signs of relief and safety from the turrets which protected them.

A line of people traced all the way to the entrance of the apartment block, clothes torn and dusted from the debris of the once great Kingdom. At the end of the line, Velvet could be seen providing aid to all of the refugees. The first refugees, the one that the powerful purple man had saved, had came to the consensus that since they had too much food in their storage, they all decided to share it together. Only a few were against the idea but one glare from Velvet made them realize where their place was.

To them, Velvet was pretty much superhuman since she had prior huntress training, despite only recently graduating from a combat school. Call it blind heroism because she told the entire group that it was best that they stand together right now rather than bicker about the food supply. For some reason, she had believed that the purple robed man would return to provide for them once again.

Her sudden and uncharacteristic assertiveness had given her the role of a leader, despite being so young. They had trusted her since she had protected them from the very beginning till the purple robed man had saved them. While the responsibility weighed heavily on her, she took the role. For the next week, she had personally welcomed survivors of Vacuo and even provided aid like food and such, which gave her this image that she was a saint.

Lastly, Vale.

Vale had the most interesting situation. A situation where in not a lot of Grimm were attacking. Sure, there were pockets of Grimm here and there, but it was never considered an invasion. Regardless, seasoned huntsmen and huntresses patrolled the breaches of the Kingdom's once glorified walls, making sure that no Grimm would ever pass the perimeter that was set up a week ago.

Most huntsmen and huntresses were stationed near the biggest breach, the breach that was caused by the Eater of Worlds. Yet, there was a surprisingly less amount of Grimm in the biggest breach, people would think that the black tide would have poured in from that breach already, but it did not.

Aside from the breaches, inside of the city, people were spreading rumors. Running around, talking about the end times, a cause due to Amber's forewarning about a big threat, coupled with her holy angelic wings and halo, who would not think that a messenger from one of the two brother gods had given them a warning about a threat. With that mindset embedded in the minds of plenty of people, it was no surprise when cults started to emerge, preaching about the 'Word of Amber'.

Two individuals were walking down the pavement beside the road. A Faunus and a human.

"I'm telling you, she is a Faunus, how else would she have those wings?" the Faunus challenged.

"And I'm telling you that she isn't. Dude, she's an angel, a pretty one at that- what I'm saying is, all angels have wings!" the human countered.

As the two of them bicker back and forth, three people walked past them. However, it seems like they are more focused on their argument with one another than the three people who passed them. Cinder Fall walked down the street with a suppressed look on her face, the kind of look that tells any passer-by that she was close to blowing up because her entire day had not really been going how she wanted it to go.

Their location was simple, head on over to Neon Nights to recruit the services of one particular thief well known in Vale. After a few minutes of walking, every now and then hearing someone talk about Amber, which further grinded on Cinder's gears, they had finally reached Neon Nights. The club's location was rather open; on a sidewalk next to the road which splits to a highway. Just across the road was a noodle stand with an aged man manning the stall.

Mercury glanced over to the noodle stand with a gleam in his eye but one glare from Emerald told him that distractions were not really good right now, especially when dealing with a rather angry Cinder.

Cinder Falls took a deep breath to calm her burning anger before walking up to the bouncer. It was still noon which means the bouncer did not really bother who was entering or exiting. Cinder's group entered the place. It was still empty, only a few people dotted the place. The bar counter only had a few patrons, either drinking their sorrows away or they simply like the poison that they are taking in.

Junior Xiong noticed the three new entrants closing in on his counter. He placed the glass that he was wiping clean down and watched them carefully. Years of experience told Junior that these three are not here to party or get drunk.

"What can I do for you?"

Cinder planted both of her hands on the counter, a coy smile stretched her face, a false emotion that she had practiced for a very long time.

"I'm looking for someone." She said, her voice silky and sultry.

To the average man, they would have already fallen for her trap and would have probably spilled the beans. However, Junior was not an average man, he knew when something is a trap. Call it his intuition but he could tell that Cinder was not having a good day; to the point that her acting was pretty terrible. Regardless, he decided to humour her.

"Who are you looking for?" He asked.

"A man. Orange hair, white suit, bowler hat, and he holds a cane. Have you seen him?"

That caught Junior's attention. What did she want from Roman? Plenty of people wanted Roman dead, that much he knew. However, he is also well connected to the criminal world beneath the 'perfect' Vale. He would have recognized her facial features, but he did not. Perhaps a possible employer for the thief? Judging by how she holds herself, he would assume that she uses wealth as her weapon.

He faked an expression, making her think that he is trying to remember something.

"You're going to have to be more specific lady, plenty of people come and go here."

Cinder's fingertips glowed a dull orange, lightly singeing the bar counter, before recollecting herself. She tilted her head over to Mercury and did a head gesture bringing him over to the counter. Stepping up to the bar, Mercury reached from inside his blazer jacket and pulled out a small photograph of the elusive thief of Vale, Roman Torchwick.

"This man is the person that we are looking for." Cinder said simply.

He pretended to look closely at the photo while contemplating on whether or not he should show Roman to them. Just then, he remembered Roman's debt to him. He remembered that Roman owed him for borrowing his goons to raid a warehouse filled products that could go for a large amount of Lien to the right bidder.

"Time to pay up, Roman." He thought.

"Ah, Roman Torchwick, he's in the back, getting ready for another heist." Junior said.

Cinder and her lackeys went to the back where one of Junior's guards politely opened the door which led to the back of the club. When they were already gone, Junior let out a sigh of relief only to feel the cold tip of a blade beneath his chin. Out of nowhere, Roman's little multicoloured girl appeared in a display of shattering glass in front of him, sitting on his counter. A look in her eyes, asking the owner of Neon Nights why he let them in.

Not one to flinch under the petite woman's blade, he leaned a little forward, the tip of the blade poking him just slightly. "He owed me, Neo."

Neopolitan looked at him for a few more seconds before pulling her sword back and sheathing back in her umbrella scabbard. Her neutral look turned into a sly grin. She leaned in and kissed Junior in the cheek before jumping off his counter, she twirled for a moment before taking a bow and shattering again like glass and disappearing from sight.

Junior rolled his eyes, sighed, and proceeded to do his job as the bartender of Neon Nights, wipe glasses for tonight.

Greetings! As you can see, I am not dead! I just took a really, really long hiatus. And played a couple of D&D games with me being the DM. That being said, it is good to be back and writing on this story, still cannot give you guys a solid schedule, but I will try to post more chapters if I can.

That being said, I would like some feedback on this newest chapter and scrutinize my work if possible. Some criticism is also nice and with all that said, I bid you all adieu.

Peace~
