"What did I say about control?!" Riley is snarled at the group around him. "We are already bringing too much attention to ourselves!"

Bree flinched and looked down on the concrete floor, while the others kept staring at the pacing blonde vampire.

He let out a frustrated growl. He grabbed the nearest metal trash can, and threw it at the brick wall. "If this happens again, I will not hesitate to kill you all. You will be replaced with ones that will obey and know how to follow orders!"

"We can't control our thirst like you!"

Riley went up to the young man's face and snarled. "I will not repeat myself again!" He took a step back and glanced around the abandoned building. He looked down at the four bodies on the floor. He turned around and started to walk away. Without looking back, he yelled, "Get rid of them quickly!"

"I won't be part of this any longer," whispered a blonde male vampire next to Bree.

"What do you mean Fred?" Bree asked quietly.

"I didn't ask for this," he waved his hands , gesturing to the room and everyone in it. "I won't be a puppet of his. I'm leaving."

"But he will kill you if he finds out! We can't leave during the day either or we could die!"

Fred shook his head and glanced at a couple that were standing on the corner, whispering to themselves. "They are planning to leave too soon. We are making a plan to get out of this. You can join us if you want. I can keep you safe."

She bit her lip and looked down at her hands. "I'll think about it."

"Someone looks like they won the lottery," Ruby noticed the smug look on Garrett's face, who sat next to her, ignoring the glare Edward threw at him.

It was Sunday morning when the guys returned to the house. Carlisle and Esme went back inside the house to talk and catch up on the two days they were separated. Rosalie and Ruby were sitting on the steps outside in the backward, with Alice sitting on top of the boulder, with Jasper sitting on the floor, in front of her legs. He hummed in content when he felt her fingers running through his hair.

"I tackled the first bear in the trip before Emmett even noticed him," he grinned at the strong vampire, who was glaring at him.

"You just got lucky," Emmett growled. "I would have gotten him first if I wasn't talking to Jasper.

Jasper rolled his eyes. "You should pay attention to your surroundings. It's not my fault you couldn't do both."

"Well I want a rematch," Emmett snarled. "Next time we go hunting, I'm going to get the bear."

"You're just too slow," Garrett shrugged his shoulders, winking at Ruby.

She let out a snort and shared a look with Rosalie. They both rolled their eyes, knowing what the nomad was doing. Emmett let out a huff and narrowed his eyes at the nomad. "You may be fast but I'm stronger than you."

"Is that a challenge?" The nomad grinned at the strong built vampire. They continued to banter as Edward walked towards his sister. He frowned, noticing that he hadn't seen Bella or couldn't hear her heartbeat from within the house.

"Her father called," Ruby explained, noticing the expression on her brother's face. "He had the day off and wanted to spend some time with her, since he has been very busy the past few days. Alice dropped her off an hour ago."

Edward understood and sat next to the blonde vampire. Rosalie raised her eyebrow but didn't say anything, and turned her attention back to her husband, who now was wrestling a laughing Garrett.

"Idiots," Rosalie and Ruby both muttered.

"At least it's outside the house," Edward shook his head.

Ruby winced, remembering how upset Esme was she saw the destruction when they lived in Alaska with their 'cousins'. Jasper and Emmett got a little rough and they destroyed the kitchen and one of the living rooms. They had helped rebuild them and were banned from fighting inside the house. Now if they wanted to 'fight', they had to go outside. They didn't want to upset their mother again.

Not wanting to watch the rough housing, Edward went inside for some time alone in his room. He wanted a few hours for himself before he went to see Bella. It wasn't long before Rosalie and Ruby shouted at the guys to cut it out when they almost crashed into the back of the house.

Ruby was humming to herself in her room, while listening to one of her favorite bands. She tilted her head a bit to the side, continuing to finish her sketch. She smiled slightly as she continued to sketch a certain club in London. She chuckled at the memory when she went to see the band The Sex Pistols, with her brother, Edward. He looked so horrified the entire time and couldn't wait to leave once the bland stopped playing for the night.

She was startled from her sketching and thoughts when her bedroom door slammed open. She sat up in alarm from her sofa bed upon seeing the panic look on Alice's face. She felt her pencils and sketchbook fall from hands, but she didn't mind them at the moment.

"What-?"

"It's Edward."

Ruby jumped from the sofa and ran towards Alice. Her brother went to drop off Bella, after she came back around noon when Charlie was called to the police station. Bella had spent the day at their house and wasn't scared of Garrett anymore. She actually liked learning about him and how he was transformed. They just left after Esme refused to let Bella leave without eating dinner. She gripped the tiny vampire's arms. "What happened?" Her grip tightened more as Alice wouldn't respond. "Did you see some-?"

Her phone began to vibrate the black nightstand next to the sofa bed. The dark haired vampire quickly let go of Alice, and grabbed the phone. She saw her brother's name flash on the screen and immediately went to answer it.

"Ed-"

"I need your help at Bella's h-"

Ruby dashed out of her room, not caring if the rest of the family members were listening in or not. "On my way." She hung up and ran out of the house. She could hear Alice following closely behind, with two sets of running feet following behind the two women. She didn't know what kind of trouble her brother was in but she would be damn if anything happened to him.

It wasn't long before she arrived at Bella's house. She didn't wait and quickly jumped in the open window in the second story house. She immediately could smell the different scent of another vampire, just like her brother had mentioned. Edward began to tell her what was going on as Alice, Emmett and Jasper.

Jasper and Emmett quickly left the house to see where the scent went. They all follow behind, leaving the house in darkness as they went outside. Edward got his phone out and sent a message to Carlisle. He put the phone away, not waiting for a response. He turned to look at Alice. "Take my car and get Bella back to the house. She will be safer there."

The pixie hair vampire wanted to argue, but closed her mouth. Having an argument with Edward would not do anybody good and they couldn't waste anymore time as each passing second makes the culprit farther away from there and a chance of escaping.

"I'm going to catch up with Emmett and Jasper," Edward told Bella, giving her a quick kiss on her forehead. "I'll come back soon."

"My dad is at the station right now. Who is going to keep an eye on him?" Bella shakily asked Edward, clutching his arm. "I can't leave him by himself here if there is a chance that they will come back."

"I can do it," Ruby turned to look at her brother. "I can sit outside the station and then follow him back here." She gave Bella a reassuring smile. "I'll make sure that he gets home safe."

Bella let go of Edward and gave the dark haired vampire a crushing hug. "Thank you."

Giving her a final pat on her back, Ruby stepped out of the hug. Nodding towards her brother, she quickly left the group, and to the direction of the police station. She hoped that her brothers would be able to find whoever was behind all of this. It didn't take long to arrive at the police station.

She kept hidden in the trees that were near the station. She let out a sigh of relief when she heard the voice of Bella's father inside the station, talking to another officer in the building. Her golden eyes scanned around the parking lot and the other buildings near the station. Sensing nothing wrong, she took out her cellphone and sent a quick message to Esme, letting her know where everyone was and what they were doing.

Seconds after sending the message, Esme responded to be careful and to not hesitate to call her if anything went wrong. Ruby smiled softly and shook her head. She knew that the moment her and her siblings went back home that they would be receiving a bear crushing hug from their mother.

She leaned against a tree and kept scanning the area for anything threatening. She tensed up when she heard running footsteps towards her right. They were running too fast to be human. She quickly turned around, hid behind a tree and crouched down, prepared to attack whoever was coming to harm Bella's father. She didn't wait for them to talk. Once they got near, she jumped out and tackled them down. She quickly grabbed their wrist and slammed them above their head, as she landed on top of them. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw who it was.

"Well this is much better than waiting in the house," Garrett let out a chuckle.

"What are you doing here? Did Carlisle send you?"

"No. I thought you might need help with keeping an eye on the human."

She was about to open her mouth when she realized the position they were in. She quickly jumped off him and fixed herself up. She heard him laugh lightly as he stood up from the forest ground. He dusted himself off and shook his head, making some dirt fall from his brown hair.

"Sorry for attacking you."

"Don't worry about it," he shrugged, as they turned to look back at the station. "It's good that you attacked. And the position we ended in was bad either."

If she was still human, Ruby knew that her face would have turned red from embarrassment. "W-well I'm glad that you are not mad about the attack."

He smiled towards her before turning his attention to the police station. They stood outside, hidden in the trees for two hours, before Charlie Swan decided to go home. True to her word, her and Garrett followed him to his house and stood outside the house, keeping an eye on him. She sent a quick message to Bella and Esme, letting them know that they are Charlie's house. Half an hour later, her phone began to vibrate. She saw Edward's name on the screen and answered his call.

"Alice is on her way to take Bella home."

"Did you guys find anything?"

"We lost the scent. He or she was picked up and left in a car."

Garrett and Ruby shared a look. They now discovered whoever was in the house was working with someone else.

"Bella called Jacob and told him what was going on. He will be arriving there any moment."

"Some pup is going to help us?" Garrett smirked.

"Do you think that they went back to Seattle or somewhere close?"

"We thought so too," Edward sighed. " We are currently in Seattle but we haven't found anything. They probably left the city and went somewhere else to hide."

Ruby sucked in a breath. "Carlisle will not approve... but I understand why you went. Just be careful all of you."

"Keep an eye on Bella when she gets home."

"Of course."

Her brother cut the call and she put her phone away. She glanced up at Garrett, who had a frown on his face. "What?"

"Carlisle will be displeased," Garrett commented, shaking his head.

Ruby grimaced. "He will but he will understand why they went."

The nomad hummed and leaned against a tree. They didn't have to wait long, they could hear Edward's car arriving and Bella chatting in the car with Alice. They both chuckled upon hearing Bella threatening to keep Edward out of room for going to Seattle.

Ruby wrinkled her nose, the smell of wet dog was approaching them and heavy footfalls, indicating that Jacob had arrived in werewolf form. She heard a grunt in displeasure from the nomad and threw a grin at him. "I know. Not a very pleasant smell."

"It's tolerable but I still don't like it," Garrett wrinkled his nose as Jacob, glaring at the direction where the heavy footfalls stopped.

Moments later, Jacob, already shifted to human form, walked towards their direction by the trees. His eyes narrowed at the nomad and then at Ruby. Bella had mentioned the red eyed vampire that was visiting the Cullens. He would have to pass the information to the rest of the pack.

"I see that you are not alone," Jacob glared at the nomad, who stood a bit closer to Ruby and was staring intently at the young man.

"And by the sound of it, you don't seem surprised," she raised her eyebrow. "Bella must have told you."

"She did."

"I am a friend of Carlisle's," Garrett narrowed his eyes at the boy. "And like I told him, I will respect his rules and not attack a human while I'm visiting."

"Good," Jacob huffed

Ruby rolled her eyes and told him what they know so far. Jacob nodded and glanced up at Bella's room. She just finished explaining when Alice parked in front of Bella's house. The human got out and noticed where they were. She glanced towards the front door and then to them. Jacob shook his head and she nodded, and turned to go inside the house.

Alice nodded at them and followed Bella inside. Jacob turned to look at Ruby again and sighed heavily, "I'll let the others know. Maybe we can agree to some sort of agreement with the wild vampire."

"I'll let Carlisle know what you are planning to do," Ruby nodded. "Knowing Carlisle, he will agree and probably would want to meet with the leader of your pack."

Jacob smiled slightly and nodded. "I'm guessing hell did freeze over if we actually do work together."

Ruby let out a snort. "Agree."

They heard the window open from Bella's room. Bella stuck her head out the window and waved at them. They all waved back and she motioned Jacob to jump in. He nodded to Ruby, ignoring the nomad, and jumped up to the room.

"Well that could have gone better," Garrett murmured.

Ruby shook her head, patting the nomad on the back. Moments later, Alice stepped out of the house and motioned for them to get in the car. Ruby shook her head, and motioned her phone. The pixie haired vampire understood, and drove off back to their house. Not long after, Edward and her other two brothers arrive outside of Bella's house. They unfortunately didn't find anything or anyone that will help them on who was in Bella's room. Edward jumped inside Bella's room, to tell her that Jacob will stay for a while before he would come back after he changed and let Carlisle know what was going on.

They all left Bella's house and ran quickly back to their house. Esme quickly engulfed everyone in a tight hug upon entering the house, even Garrett, who looked slightly surprised but hugged her back. Rosalie quickly grabbed Emmett's hand and led him to where Carlisle and Alice were at, in the second floor living room. The others followed behind and noticed the frown of disapproval of Carlisle. Edward quickly told him everything and their disappointment on not finding anything in Seattle.

"We'll have to keep an eye on Bella until we figure something out," Alice glanced at everyone in the room, frowning at Rosalie, who rolled her eyes in irritation.

Jasper sighed heavily. "She won't be too pleased with the idea."

"It will be for her own good," Esme softly said. She turned to look at her youngest son. "You should stay every night until it's safe for her to be by herself."

"I am," Edward nodded. "Jacob is there at the moment, though I do not like it." He frowned and shook his head, not understanding why Bella kept going back to the wolf.

He understood that Jacob was there for Bella when he abandoned her to track down Victoria. It was one of the biggest regrets he had ever done but he had to find the redhead, in order to keep Bella safe. If he had to join forces with Jacob to keep Bella alive and well, then he would bear it for her.

Shaking his head again, he looked towards Carlisle and said, "It's not Victoria. I would have recognized the scent. The only conclusion that I can come up with is that is the Volturi."

Everyone glanced at Edward. Alice and Carlisle were frowning.

"I would have seen it by now if they were the ones attacking," Alice tilted her head a bit to the side. "I've been keeping an eye on them, especially Aro. He is more interested in Bella turning like one of us than killing her."

"Alice is right," Carlisle calmly said, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "She would have seen someone from the Volturi if they are the ones behind all of this."

"What about this Victoria you mentioned?" Garrett asked. "Could she be the one behind this? Maybe she picked up whoever was in your girlfriend's room?"

Alice shook her head. "I haven't seen her either. The last time I had a vision of her is when she came to attack when Bella was visiting her mother in Florida with Edward."

"Maybe Edward is right," Emmett nodded towards his brother. "Maybe somebody in the Volturi sent someone else to attack Bella. Maybe they are doing it behind Aro's back."

"I'm keeping an eye on everyone over there," Alice gritted. "My money would have been on Jane but it's no one from there."

Jasper softly spoke up, feeling the tension in the room. "Maybe we should strategize to capture the intruder or intruders if there is more than one."

Carlisle nodded and went to the direction of his office. Jasper and Alice went to follow. Garrett sent a small smile to Ruby, who returned it, before following them. Edward, not wanting to be in the same room with anyone, rushed to his room. Ruby noticed the worry expression on their mother's face.

She squeezed her hand and gave her a soft smile. "I'll go talk to him."

Esme nodded at her and returned the smile. Ruby walked slowly towards her brother's room, wanting to give him some time alone in his room. She observed her brother from his bedroom door, noticing how tense he was sitting and the troubled look on his face. He turned to look at her for a moment, before looking back down on the white carpet floor.

"I think Emmett is right," Edward muttered. "I didn't recognize the scent. If it was Victoria, I would have known. Maybe the Volturi sent someone else, instead one of their guards." He growled in frustration.

"It doesn't matter who it is. Whether it's Victoria or the Volturi or someone else completely, they are going to be stopped no matter what," Ruby frowned, looking down at her brother's first resting on top of his knees. "You know that we will keep Bella safe at all cost"

"I know you guys will," Edward let out a sigh, relaxing his fists. "I just don't like not knowing who is doing this."

Not knowing what to say, Ruby went to sit next to her brother and wrapped her arm around him giving him a comforting squeeze. The two siblings sat in silence, listening to the noises around the house, deep in thought.
