Divas Prison Ch55
Paige tried to take a good look at herself, but it just wasn't possible. The so called mirror on the cell wall was nothing close to a proper one, and scratched to the point where it was pointless being there. No that it deterred Paige from trying to fix one of her eyelashes that was bothering her.
"Bex, honey, could you help me deal with this stupid little lash?" Paige asked, but there was no reaction from her cellmates bunk. "Becky?" Paige asked again, trying to fix the problem on her own. It was probably the best solution as a fire could have broken out without it disturbing the orange haired woman. She was not paying attention to anything but the pages of the book that she was reading.
"Really Bex?" Paige still got no reaction so turned back and tried to sort the problem out herself, succeeding, but poking herself in the eye in the process. "Ow! Stupid son of a..." Paige stopped herself from getting angry, trying to keep her promise to do so less unless really needed. Lash removed, she washed her face for a moment, taking her time until she felt a pair of arms wrap tightly around her waist and Beckys head rest against her bare back. "Better late than never I suppose. Doesn't make up for ignoring me you know."
"I didn't ignore you?" Was the oblivious response.
"Ha! You wouldn't know if another riot broke out as long as your nose is in that book."
"Well it was worth it then. I would never ignore you, but that book was something special. The way it ended, with the two of them finally getting together, it was special to me."
"Sorry, Bex, you know how I feel about you, but I don't go for that slushy writing. You enjoy them, that's fine, but that's your thing."
"I know, but there was a line at the end that sums us up I think, all we have gone through, and still may have to go through. Just look at it, please, this line here."
Becky held the book up and Paige read out loud the sentence she was being pointed towards. "You only know what true love is when you feel it for someone, and I..." Becky took the book away before Paige could read more.
"That's it, just that line." Becky wrapped her arms around and pulled herself close to Paige again, resting her head against her girlfriends shoulder. "It's how I feel about you, why I need you. This feels like true love to me, even like this, even if you don't feel the same, but I think you do."
Paige kissed Becky on the top of her head, cradling it with her arm. "Of course I do, you idiot. I know what I mean to you, just like you do me. You don't need a trashy book to tell you that." Paige laughed for a second. "Maybe you should have the girl from the library give it to Charlotte next, she could do with a bit of a reminder right?"
"A reminder about love? You think Charlotte needs a reminder about love?" Beckys tone of disbelief dissolved down into a laugh. "Charlotte has been dealing with love since the day that those four stupid bitches broke out of here. I know it, you know it, right?" Becky asked to a nod back from Paige. "Exactly. Everyone knows it, except her."
"Well she's not going to figure it out any time soon honey. She's barely been around since the twins got put back on the block. Hiding in her cell, spending more time at her job. Being who she is does pay off sometimes I guess." Paige said with a small distaste in her tone.
"Well she gave her father the chance to watch her more, why wouldn't he take it while he could. But it's not good for her, you know as well as I do that it's what she didn't want. She's hiding Pai, and she's got to figure out what she wants. Just like I did, and you too." Becky walked up to Paige and rested her head on her girlfriends shoulder, kissing her on her neck. Paige knew full well she was being played, but couldn't help responding in exactly the way she knew Becky wanted her too.
"Well I guess that makes us the lucky ones. Don't worry Bex, we will get her sorted out, the last thing we want is for her to be as unhappy as I was when I had to deal with my feelings for you that I thought could never be returned."
Becky held Paige tight from what she said, looking up for a kiss, which was delivered without hesitation, the two wrapped up in their passion, and in their love.
When they were released from their cells for the day to begin, everyone quickly got into line to get food as always, through hunger and the usual barked orders from the guards to do just that. Summer and Nattie waved Becky and Paige over, Emma still busy in the kitchen, she got to eat only when no other inmates were waiting.
"Just us again then?" Paige said flippantly.
"If you're referring to Miss I-Don't-Want-To-See-Anyone, Charlotte is hiding in her cell as always. I'm not even sure if I can be bothered to go and even try, she's just going to be rude and wallow in there. There's only so many times can be told to go away." Natalya had a similar tone in her voice.
"Come on Nattie, if it was you, wouldn't you want your friends to help you out and get what you really want?" Becky tried to make her case again.
"That's not going to happen in here, no offence to any of you, but I'm more than half way through my time in here, and besides, there's no sentence long enough that I would look at any woman twice. I've got my guy, he's waiting for me back home, the family takes care of him and believe me when I say we will make up for the years we've lost when I get out of here."
Becky held her hands up defensively at Natalya's ranting. "Well it kinda sounds like you could do with him here now. But that's not an option. Charlottes best option is here. I think I'm going to go talk to..."
Natalya knew full well who Becky was going to refer to. She wanted to get Brie, the woman Charlotte had grown extremely close to, into the effort to help her, even though she was unaware of how far things between the two of them went. "No. Don't you even think of bringing her into this. I don't care what you think Charlotte wants. The Bellas are scum, and I'm not going to just let you bring her into our little family here. Each of you mean a lot to me, and will for life. But if you continue insist on doing this, then you may all have to make a choice. Her, or me."
Paige saw Becky's expression change to one of anger pretty fast. She knew that things were going to go wrong unless she did something. "Bex, don't get upset, Nattie just..."
"No, babe, she's not just anything. She's only interested in her own selfish end. Yeah, you hate them, and if I was set up to get put here by someone I'd hate them too, but this isn't about you. I just want to bring a little happiness into the most miserable place on Earth. I can do that for Charlotte, and if you don't like it, then screw you!"
Nattie shot up from her chair. "Outside, you'd be in a hospital bed for saying that Becky, but I'm not going to cause problems, that's not how I do things. You do what you want, and when Brie screws Charlotte over, breaks her heart just like when she escaped, you can pick up the pieces and you better believe I will be there to say 'I told you so.'" Natalya stormed off, leaving her food tray. Summer quickly put hers on top, before a guard saw and Natalya ended up in further trouble. "Nice catch." Paige remarked. Summer shrugged before she looked up, surprised about who was standing there. "I don't want to talk to you any more than she does."
Paige and Becky looked up and saw one of the Bellas had approached the table. "Which one are you anyway?" Paige asked, not certain despite the one clear difference between the sisters.
"I'm Brie, if my sister was around she would be backing me away just like your friend Hart stomed away. I heard you talking about Charlotte but I couldn't come over while she was here." Brie sounded quite hesitant in her tone.
"Yeah, but can you blame her?" Paige said with disgust in her voice."
"It wasn't personal with her, it never was, it was simply business. She took it personally. But this isn't about her. How is Charlotte? Is she all right? I haven't seen her since she slapped me. I want to talk to her, but I'm not sure I should, and Nikki doesn't want me to." The concern in her voice, and the sadness in her tone were clear to all three at the table. Paige and Becky looked at each other, finding it hard not to smile.
"You should, I mean, like, now. Right now. Not just because your double isn't here, but for her sake." Becky continued her efforts.
"Has she said something? Has she talked about me?" Brie asked, now in a hopeful tone, clear what answer she wanted.
"Well, no." Brie's head hung down for a moment as Becky continued. "But when she realised you had gone, she was really upset. More than she should have been about anyone, if you get what I mean."
"I want to, if you mean what I think, then I missed her too."
Becky looked at Paige and smiled. "Then what the hell is stopping you? What's the worst she can do to you, she's not going to attack you, too many bulls around, so just go in there."
"The worst?" Brie answered. "The worst she can do is break my heart. That can't be fixed by the bulls, or the doctors. Maybe I should wait." Brie was scared of the reaction she was going to get, and it was obvious to all of them, but all it did was annoy Becky more. She walked around and grabbed the Bella by the wrist and walked her all the way to the doorway she knew had the only person Brie really wanted to be talking to on the other side.
"Go in, or I will drag you in, and hows that going to look to Charlotte?" Becky made sure to speak quietly but she her point was made just as clearly. Brie knew she had no choice, not that she was necessarily upset at the fact, but she was certainly scared to death of the reaction she might get.
It wasn't possible for Brie, or anyone, to walk into a cell without any occupants knowing, the cells were simply not big enough for that to be possible, and so Charlotte looked up from her bunk as soon as she spotted the door move. She was expecting Summer, her cell mate, but the reality was met with a much less pleasant feeling in her stomach. Charlottes anger came straight to the surface and she got up to face her visitor.
"Get out." She told Brie, fighting the hurt she felt, the hurt that had been caused by this other woman. "Get out." She repeated when there was no response.
"No, Charlotte." Brie responded. "We need to talk, we haven't talked since I got back here, and we need to."
"I haven't got anything to say to you. Just go."
"I don't believe that, and even if you don't, I have things that I have to say to you, and I'm going to say them, no matter what you do." Brie tried to sound tough but fell short as Charlotte approached her.
"Wanna bet, hey, Badge!" Charlotte leaned past Brie, trying to call a guard but there wasn't one close enough at that moment, luckily for Brie, who enjoyed having Charlotte so close to her, but that couldn't be what this was about. She pushed the blonde onto her bunk.
"No Char, no guards. You are going to listen while I talk, or we are going to talk, but properly. Why is that so hard for you?"
Charlotte scoffed. "Why? Why would I want to talk to you after you made our lives so much worse by escaping? They took everything away from us and life was hell. Summer was lucky not got get her ass kicked all over this place. Ronda saved her skin. You both deserve the same, or worse. She got caught up in it, you planned it all the time, didn't you?"
Charlotte knew the answer, but Brie knew that she did, so knew to tell the truth. "Yes we did, we wanted to get out of here, we got the chance and had to try, but, I had a plan. I wanted..."
Charlotte cut her off before she could finish. "A plan? Well congratulations, it worked. Shame you couldn't have made a better plan for afterwards, then I wouldn't have to be talking to you now." Charlottes anger was still there, but the hurt she had felt was taking over.
"If my plan had worked, we would never had stopped talking at all!" Brie blurted out, the last comment upsetting her as well.
Charlotte looked confused. "What are you talking about?"
"You, you idiot, I told you to stay close to me when in all went down, I needed you close to me so at the right moment, you could have slipped out with us. I wanted you to come too, but you had to go get in a fight. Why couldn't you, have just listened?"
Charlotte was shocked, unable to believe what Brie had told her. "You think I would have gone with you? Brie, that would never have happened. I've told you, I deserve to be here. And whatever you think, so do you. I'm going to do my time, every minute of it."
"You wouldn't have come? I thought you'd want to get out of here. We all want to get out of here."
"Yeah, I do. But when my sentence is done. And let's not forget the fact that they caught you. You've got more time right?"
Brie nodded, looking down in sadness at that fact, added to the news her plan to get Charlotte out with her would never have worked. "Yeah, but I thought that we could have been ok out there if you'd been there too."
Charlotte shook her head. "If I'd been there, I'd have been caught too. I deserve what I got, but I don't want any more time in here that I already have, it's a long time, and it got so much worse when you ran out on me, I mean us, I mean all of us." The taller woman turned away towards the back of the cell, upset at what she had let slip out.
"What do you mean, on me? Char, why did you say that?" Brie stepped closer, hoping she had things right.
Charlotte had angered herself even more by her slip of the tongue. She spun around and lost control of what she was saying. "Because, I thought we had a good thing going. I thought you got me, you understood me, you helped me forget about all of my frustrations and became my best friend. Yes, we screwed around, but that was just to help us both ease those needs. At least I thought it was. I let myself get close to you, and then you just disappeared. I thought you might have given some kind of a care about me, how I felt, but you're too selfish. You don't care about me and you never did. So I don't get why you are even here."
Brie did the only thing she could think of, she grabbed Charlottes face and kissed her. Charlotte was not ready for this, keeping her arms out by her sides, her whole body frozen in shock. All the things that she had done with the twin attached to her face, they had never kissed. She certainly made no attempt to pull away though.
Brie held Charlotte's face until she broke their kiss. This time Charlotte was speechless so she took the chance to talk, but she struggled to stay calm. "Does that answer your questions? Of course I care about you, I've never done anything else. I didn't tell you before because you wanted it that way, but I've had enough. I wanted you to come with me, and when you didn't, it was devastating. Yeah, I got caught, but I made peace with coming back to prison, because it was the only way I could see you again. I missed you bad, and I'm not holding it back anymore. Charlotte, I lo..."
Brie found that Charlotte cut her off again, but this time it was because she charged her and crashed into her with a kiss of her own. The force of it pushed Brie into the wall, but once she got over the shock, she melted into the kiss, returning the raw emotion that she was getting from Charlotte. The tall blonde ran her hands over Brie's body, finding herself getting urges she hadn't really felt for the other woman before, despite their previous encounters. She knew what the urges were, and despite part of her brain telling her not to, she couldn't fight them. She began tugging at Brie's clothes, causing the twin to break the kiss long enough to disrobe as quick as she could.
Charlotte removed her own clothes as she checked out of the door for a guard, closing the door as much as it would allow and blocking the small window as best she could with her shirt. She then hurried back to Brie and the two came together in fast and furious passion.
Both women were left physically satisfied by their encounter. But while Brie felt joy and delight. Charlotte was confused and upset. She was upset with herself for what she had done, confused as to why she had let it happen, and she had no idea what to do or say.
Brie was the first to speak. "That was wonderful. I missed you so much and I thought I'd lost you before. I never thought this would happen now though. Best surprise ever." Brie went to cuddle up to Charlotte but the blonde jumped up, leaning against the wall. Brie got up after her but when she put a hand on Charlottes shoulder, it caused a reaction she feared all along. Charlotte pushed her arm away with such force it caused Brie to fall back.
"You have to go." Charlotte said, voice cracking.
"Why?" Came the obvious question.
"I shouldn't have done that, any of it. You need to leave, and stay away from me."
"Charlotte, no." Brie said, scared to death. "Why are you saying this?" Charlotte didn't answer, picking up the clothes from the floor and throwing them at the Bella twin.
Brie started to dress, tears in her eyes. "Please talk to me. I thought of this moment since I went back inside, and many times while I was on the outside. You mean everything to me Charlotte, don't kick me out." Brie tried to take Charlottes hand once she was fully clothed, but it was blocked again.
" Just go. I told you. This should never have happened. It was a mistake." Brie found that final word from Charlotte knocked her mindset more than anything else. She summoned all her resolve before she started crying for real.
"This was not a mistake. I will never see this as a mistake. You're all kinds of confused Char, and you need to figure it out. At least I hope you do. You are really important to me, you were my best friend too, except my sister, but I see you as more than that. I should have told you before, I think I've always felt this way. I won't say it, not now, but when you realise it, I'm going to be waiting. Until then." Brie used her last bit of inner strength to grab Charlotte buy the arm and turn her to force them to look at each other. She then threw her arms around Charlotte neck and kissed her with as much force as she could. It only lasted a few seconds before Charlotte broke her grip and pushed her back. Brie barely kept her balance and left the cell with a last look back at a stunned Charlotte, before returning to her own cell.
Becky saw Brie leave, and, despite the calls from the other girls not to, went to see how her friend was.
"Her Char, how did it...ooh, sorry." She said, stopping in her tracks as she realised that Charlotte was naked. She covered her eyes. "So, I guess it all went well then?
"Shut up. Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Charlotte sat down, practically shaking at what had happened. "You know what, just get out, why can't everyone just leave me alone." Charlotte laid down and pulled her blanket over to cover herself. Becky knew the best thing was to turn around, even when she heard Charlotte soft cries behind her. She went back to the others.
"So, what happened?" Paige asked, squeezing her girls hand as she sat. "Are we not the hot new couple anymore?"
"Aww, you're sweet." Becky said as she kissed Paige on the side of the head discreetly. "But we have been together a while now babe, and I wouldn't change that for anything. As for them. I think she's going to need a little while longer, she's got to figure it out for herself, but I don't think it will take long."
As her friends changed the subject and started a card game, Charlotte tossed and turned on her bunk. She battled her thoughts as she uttered the same question over and over.
"What the hell is going on with me?"
A/N: Hello and thanks for reading, as always, it means a lot to me, as with any writer.
I wish I could get these out more often, I think I've had to apologise for the time it's taken every chapter for a while now. I hope it will get easier soon. I miss you guys.
