"Sooo, what do you thin-"

"Little busy, sis!" Yang's eyes darted back and forth, watching a dust cloud race around them. With each movement the ground beneath their feet shook and the Grimm kicked up sand.

When would it pop out?

Maybe in two seconds.

Maybe in five.

Maybe it was runni-

The ground exploded underneath her.

"Grahhhllh," Yang elegantly shouted as sixty tons of monster did its best to gore her. One of the beast's horns caught her between the shoulder blades and the other rammed into her thigh.

She tumbled, flipping head over heels and landing right on her ass. Yang staggered to her feet, holding up one finger. There was something smart she should be saying, she knew that, but the little stars were just so pretty and-

A soothing mist enveloped her as Ruby's healing round exploded on her helmet. That took the sting out.

Slapping her cheeks twice, Yang rubbed her leg. "Owww, this is gonna bruise for sure."

"You know there is armor that covers your legs." Ruby 'helpfully' chipped between rifle shots.

"Says the girl wearing a skirt to a fight." Yang took a deep breath and turned to face them. Her sister was dancing around the brute.

"It's a combat skirt! And also, I have armored tights on." Ruby ran past her in a blur. "You've got, what, a single chap and hot pants?"

"Hey, when you have thighs this good, the world needs to see them." Yang scoffed because Ruby didn't understand how much effort she'd put into her cowgirl outfit. Only one leg had a chap, but her long coat was also asymmetric and the bare leg was the one which had a coat tail to go with it so it balanced! She pulled a pair of seeds out and crunched them down, muscle fatigue melting away as her heart sped up.

"The world or Blake?"

"Blake is my world."

"Aghh," Ruby made gagging sounds. "Gross."

"Don't knock it till you try it." Yang picked up a rock and chucked it at the monster. Really, the thing was ridiculous. A 'flying Grimm' that spent most of its time swimming through the ground like some sort of two legged, horned land shark that couldn't wait to eat them.

'It's technically herbivorous and the wings are mostly vestigial'. She could practically hear Weiss' lecture about how none of them ever bothered studying. That's what their Handler's were for.

All she needed to know was where to punch and there was a juicy target.

Yang stood arms at her side, fingers opening and closing as she started the monster down. It looked right at her, lowered its head and pawed at the ground. Once, twice, it kicked up dirt.

It screeched and charged.

A normal Hunter would've dove out of the way considering just how hard a Diablos could charge.

Yang jumped up, looping her left arm around one of the horns as she landed on its nose. She pulled her right fist back.

"One!" She shouted and slammed her fist into the skull plate, right between its horns.

"Two!" She could feel the monster skid to a stop as her next blow landed.

"Three!" The beast's head snapped to the side as a small explosion rocked them both. She'd finally built up enough powder on the stupid thing's face.

"Four!" One more blow and the horn she'd been using to hold on snapped off. Yang was airborne again, but landed on her feet.

She propped one arm on the horn and leaned, looking around for Ruby. "So, about how I need to upgrade my wea-"

Ruby was sitting on the monster's severed club tail, halfway across the sand pit with the biggest grin on her face.

Yang thought back to the charge, the tail was missing when it started. Ruby'd won their match and waited for her to realize it.

"If you love that horn so much, I bet it would make a nice punch dagger." Ruby practically sang.

Yang frowned and kicked her silver medal to the side. "If it doesn't let me punchsplode things, I'm not interested."

"That's not even a word!"
