Just a heads up for everyone, I've decided to change Yang's character around a bit. So this chapter will be about Yang but changing her reasons for being a huntress. This chapter will include the "Yellow" trailer for RWBY but I'm going to change it a bit. At least the end of it. Enjoy.

Next morning (July 9)

It was the next morning after Rex's encounter with Raven Branwen, Mother to Yang, sister to Qrow, and ex-wife to Tai. Rex had been told about her before from Ozpin and when he asked about the Spring Maiden, she never gave an answer but Rex had a feeling she did know. But she was stubborn, kind of like Yang, and managed to get her to leave. Even through... excessive means.

Anyways, it was the next morning and Yang had woken up before anyone else, and was dealing with her troublesome hair, even though she's protective of it.

"I hate bad hair days" complained Yang to herself, trying to get the knots out of her hair, only to let out a yell of frustration.

Rex had woken up a few minutes after her and was walking down to the kitchen for breakfast when he came near the bathroom and heard her frustrations.

"Are you okay, Yang?" asked Rex as he kept hearing her cries of anger.

"No, it's just that how can I fix this mess! My hair has knots! Its such a pain" yelled Yang in reply.

"Do you need help. I can try to fix it" offered Rex, causing Yang to stare at him in disbelief but also skepticism.

"I'll try to comb the knots out of your hair. Any products you might use in it, you're on your own with that one" said Rex.

After a minute of thinking, Yang sighed as there is nothing she can do.

She was really protective of her hair but she also didn't want to hurt him. Plus, she was still banned from the good hairdressers in Vale due to her anger of her hair being touched.

But she then thought that maybe this would be a good chance to bond with him. Maybe even tease him a little.

"Alright, Rex. But please be careful, I happen to be very protective of my hair..." replied Yang, wanting to get this over with but was secretly planning something evil.

Rex walked in and grabbed a brush and then began working on combing the knots out, only for her Yang to tense up and instantly elbow him in the face, send him out of the bathroom.

"OW, why did you hit me?" asked Rex, holding his nose as his nanites began to heal him.

"Sorry, Rex! That was just my instincts" explained Yang, knowing her instincts of someone touching her hair, as she turned and saw his nose glow blue lines.

"Sheesh. You're already making me regret stopping by" said Rex as his nose felt better.

"I'm sorry. But there is something I want know" asked Yang.

"What's that?" asked Rex.

"What was that on your nose. Why was it glowing?" asked Yang.

Rex flinched a little at her question but realized he had already explained his powers, a little bit, so he figured he could indulge her question.

"Its like I said a week or so ago. The nanites inside me are able to fix any damage to my body, like my own mini hospital staff. If that makes any sense" said Rex as he felt the pain numb away and felt his nose feel better.

"Must be handy those powers. Wish I had something like that. Then I could make my own creations like yours. But more explode-y. Like your giant hands but more yellow and they would have my shotgun blasters at the end of them. Oh, that would be so cool" said Yang as he placed her hand on her cheeks and began to envision her own creation builds like Rex, but in her own way.

Yang began to chuckle a weird chuckle as she kept fantasizing about having powers like Rex. But also wondering what her own version of Rex's motorcycle would be like. She figured the her would look like his but yellow and perhaps could see more of the engine, just to show off to the other motorcycle people how awesome her's would be. Maybe the seat would became a lazy rocking chair as the back of the motorcycle moved up as two small wings popped out of the sides of them

Rex couldn't help but chuckle at her description as he said "Sheesh, you really are a pyro-maniac, huh."

"Nah, I wouldn't say that. I'm more of an Explosion maniac" said Yang as she smirked as how awesome she would look with powers like Rex. But speaking of Rex, she did think of one other thing she wanted to ask him.

"And another thing. Why are you doing this? Normally, you dodge my flirty attempts but now you're combing my hair. What's going on?" as she now sounded concerned.

Rex sighed as he stopped and decided that he didn't want to tell Yang that her mom was after him. He feared that that might make Yang suspicious of him and might make her feel sad that her own mom would rather come after him than spend a moment with her own daughter.

"I'm doing this cause I figured it would be a good time to talk to you about... your family. I heard from your dad about what happened" said Rex as Yang's eyes widened as she then knew this might happen so she turned back to the mirror.

"When did he tell you?" asked Yang.

Rex knew he had to lie again so he said "I was thirsty last night so I went to get a drink and found your dad in their sitting in a chair, looking at a picture. I saw it was of your mom and he then began telling me that he was sorry about the hostile welcoming but he had his reasons for doing so. He then told me about how your family came to be. How he met your mom, how she left, how he met the woman you actually call mom and how she died. And how everything fell apart. It was there that he told me that he was worried that since my powers ended up on the news that I would attract attention to unwanted guests so he wanted me away from here cause he's scared of losing the only two people he's cared for the most" said Rex.

Hearing this made Yang feel sad as tears began to fall down her cheek.

Rex saw this and said "Hey. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry. I just wanted to know why your dad gave me that kind of welcome" as he was trying to be sincere.

Yang wiped her tears and said "No its ok. You wanted to know and I guess it would be ok, seeing as you are my teammate and everything" said Yang.

Rex then went back on fixing her hair, hoping that it would calm her down.

Rex then started separating a few strands and gently using his fingers to undo any tangle and knot. Yang, however, normally would tense up and punch anyone who dares mess with her hair, but the more he kept trying to be helpful, the less anger she felt inside of her as she was being calmed down.

"I'm sorry that I made you feel down. But how do you feel, Yang?" asked Rex.

Yang could tell he was trying to be considerate and she admired him for that but she couldn't help but tease him, considering what he was doing as she then said "It feels so good, Hot Stuff... You're really good with your hands..." said Yang, giving him her teasing smile as he blushed so hard, that it could match up to Ruby's cloak.

He then quickly resumed fixing her hair, carefully undoing all the knots as Yang started relaxing more as it was all being done in a very careful and nice way. In fact, it started to feel good to have Rex tread his fingers on her hair. It took some time, but he was able to completely remove all the knots and tangles without pulling her hair even once, and without breaking one strand.

"Again, I just saw the photo and thought I'd ask. I didn't mean to make you sad" said Rex.

"Rex, it's fine. I'm not mad" said Yang but then she got and idea and smirked as she grabbed a bottle of cream and said "Here. Trying massaging this into my scalp. Makes my hair more soft" said Yang. Rex was reluctant but he knew this might make her feel better. He sighed in annoyance as he said

"Fine" as he grabbed some cream and massaged it on her head, with his hands, massaging her scalp on the process. That, for some reason, made Yang blush as it felt incredibly good. It was both gentle and caring, and relaxing. In fact, she couldn't remember the last time someone touched her in a way that pleasured her so much.

"Are you alright, Yang? Your face is as red as Ruby's hair?" asked Rex, making himself laugh at his own pun as it made Yang more self-conscious.

"Nothing! Just feeling a little hot here. Open a window!" said Yang in a quick remark.

"Better not, at least till I finish. I don't want the wind to mess with your hair. It's really nice hair, you know, all silky and curly. I can see now why you are so protective of it" said Rex.

"You really seem like you know what you're doing"said Yang as she sighed at the soothing feeling.

"Not really no. I'm just making this up as I go along" said Rex as Yang started to squirm a little as he worked on her hair, because he was making the experience really pleasurable.

"Am I hurting you?" asked the Evo as he stopped momentarily.

"N-No!" said the Blonde Brawler, receiving a nod in reply he continued while he smiled at her in amusement of her reactions. If he didn't knew better, it was almost like she was...

"Now it's time to brush it" said Rex as he grabbed a soft brush and started brushing her hair. Yang was now suppressing her voice as she squirmed more, because every time his fingers touched her ears and neck, and the gentle movement on her hair just made her feel so good that she was almost asking him to stop.

"Now the final touch... and done" said Rex as he finished fixing Yang's hair.

Yang finally breathed and calmed down as he stopped working on her hair and handed her a hand mirror.

She took a look at the mirror and gasped in shock.

Her hair was more than fixed. It was perfect. It looked more shiny now.

"Man, you're good" said Yang in gratitude as she wrapped her arms around him.

"Yea sure, but don't go thinking I'm doing it again. I don't want another attack just for fixing hair" said Rex in a snarky tone, making Yang grumble in annoyance.

Before the two could say anything, Ruby came down in her pajamas as she entered the bathroom, her eyes widening of what she had just witnessed.

She saw Rex touching Yang's hair without getting killed and to top it all off, her hair was more shiny now.

"OH MY OUM! REX TOUCHED AND STYLED YANG'S HAIR AND HE'S NOT DEAD!" shouted Ruby to the sky, making Tai come down into the bathroom and witness the whole entire thing in front of them.

"He has done the impossible!" yelled Tai, dramatically.

"The world is coming to an end!" shouted Ruby in an overdramatic tone, much to the amusement of Rex, but to the annoyance of Yang.

"I'm not that bad" replied Yang as her blonde hair was perfectly brushed and shining gold.

Everyone just continued to stare at her, before they all got on there knees and started to beg in front of the Human EVO.

"How did you do it?! Please tell us the secret!" begged the two in unison.

"I don't know" said Rex as he walked past them and headed down stairs for breakfast.

Later that day

After eating breakfast, Ruby dragged Rex back to the living room and begged him to play some more games with her.

He decided to indulge her and decided that they should play a battling game. She accepted the challenge and soon began to fight against Rex.

The title changed to an arena and it told Rex to name his avatar, which he chose a ninja to be. He thought about something fun to type for his name and decided to choose "The Iron Giant." For reasons he knew, but he knew Ruby and Yang wouldn't understand. His character had black cloth wrapped around his body, with only his eyes visible, with strips of black cloth around his neck, and thighs, black boots, iron plates on his knuckles and forearm, and a ninja star on his forehead.

Soon, it was Ruby's turn and she chose her ninja character. Her ninja character had black hood covering her head and a black mask covering her face, she had chain mail as a shirt, covering her chest in a opening in he clothes from her neck to the bottom part of her chest, grey boots that had sandal straps by her feet, two swords on her back, and silver platting on the back of her legs, wrapped in grey cloth strips.

Ruby and Rex began their match and Rex's ninja avatar showed up on the screen as the TV said,

"Challenger: The Iron Giant Vs..." as the screen glowed a little and soon Ruby's avatar showed up on the screen as well as the TV finished, saying "Petal to the Metal."

Hearing this, Rex grew a deadpanned face and looked over at Ruby and said "Seriously?"

Ruby gave a nervous chuckle as she said "What? It works, doesn't it?"

"Works in being as cheesy as your sister's puns, if that's what you mean" said Rex as he turned back to the screen, as Yang just did a playful scoff at his jab.

She then said "I have never been so offended in all my years of being a professional jokester sat back on the couch, chuckling at the two.

They soon began to fight as Ruby's character leaped forward and tried to swipe at Rex, but he managed to dodge her attack and knock her back.

"Yea! Go Rex" cheered Yang, which made Ruby scoff as she said "Who's side are you on?!" as she faced her sister, but the moment she turned her back, Rex took the opportunity and attacked Ruby, managing to kill some of her health.

Realizing her mistake, Ruby squeaked in shock and turned around to see her avatar getting beaten.

"Hey, that's not fair! I wasn't watching" complained Ruby as she mashed the buttons on her controller, trying to fight back.

Rex just smirked as he said "Sorry, Red. Your opponent doesn't wait for slow pokes" as he made one final attack and knocked out Ruby's character.

The TV then said "Iron Giant wins. Petals to the metal loses. Loses. Loses" as the word loses kept flashing in red words over and over.

Ruby couldn't believe it. She lost to someone that wasn't her Uncle Qrow.

Yang just feel back on to the couch laughing at what had just happened. Ruby had normally had a winning record in this game against her, when it wasn't Qrow playing, but now she lost to someone else.

Ruby just turned and faced her laughing sister and said" Hey, this is all your fault. If you hadn't distracted me, I would've won" as she began playfully slapping her own sister as Yang just held up her arm, while chuckling at how silly she was being.

"Yea, its ironic how you were so slow to defeat a game. Too bad you can't use your semblance then you would've won" joked Yang, which just made Ruby puff her cheeks in annoyance as she kept slapping at Yang.

Hearing this triggered a thought for Rex as he watched the two play around.

He remembered Ozpin mentioning semblances and aura. He remembered him saying that semblances were suppose to be like, a person's inner most self. In a sense. And that you first needed to unlock your aura in order to unlock your semblance.

When he first heard this, he wasn't too much focused on it since he was still worried about people finding out about his powers. But after his battle with Cardin, some of the students had seemed to be amazed by him. And with it still being a while till they go back to school, he could relax a little.

He set the controller down and looked at the two still fighting which he broke up by yelling "HEY", making the two stop and look at Rex.

Rex internally sighed as he said "There has been something I've been wondering" as the two let go of each other and looked at Rex.

"Is it possible that I could possibly a semblance?" asked Rex, making Yang and Ruby and everything go silent at the possibility.

"I know you said that its not but are you sure that your powers aren't a semblance" asked Ruby.

"Yea, I'm sure. From what I remember, semblances are suppose to be your inner self or something" said Rex, trying to remember what Ozpin said.

"Well, you're close but from what I learned from my classes is that a "Semblance" is the manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual, with the effects varying greatly from user to user. With the sheer number of people unlocking their Semblances, it can lead to unrelated people gaining similar abilities. The nature of one's Semblance is noted as representing an aspect of their character. So I suppose that its not a semblance since I too wouldn't understand what growing metal out of your body would say about you. So I guess you really don't have a semblance, Rex" said Yang as she began to think more on it.

Ruby just gasped as she said "OOO. What do you think your semblance could be? Lighting, ice. Oooo, the possibilities are killing me" as she then began rolling around on the floor, trying to think of what cool semblance. But while that was going on, Yang then remembered what she went through to. Someone had to say a specific phrase in order for aura to be unlocked, and gained a teasing smirk.

"It might be possible... but we'll have to work on something" as her smirk disappeared as Rex faced her.

"You have to unlock your aura in order for your semblance to open" said Yang as she gazed at Rex while Ruby stopped her rolling and was paying attention now.

"Ok, so what do we need to do?" asked Rex.

Yang smiled a bit and sat up as she said "Meet me in my room in half an hour. We'll work on your semblance from there" as she began to strut her way to the stairs and then up it.

Rex raised an eyebrow as she saw the way she was moving and had seen enough shows to know that type of walk.

"Should I be worried?" asked Rex to Ruby.

"Maybe" sighed Ruby as she knew what her sister was doing.

Half an hour later

Rex and Ruby and gone back to their gaming after Yang had left and after he had beaten her again and again, Ruby decided she had enough and went out to relieve some stress. He then began making his way to Yang's room. As he drew nearer and nearer, he started to become more nervous.

He knew that she was going to help him with the whole Semblance and aura stuff. But he also knew how much of a flirt she could be, so he knew he needed to be prepared for something to happen behind the door.

He stopped in front of her room and took a deep breath. He then knocked on the door and waited to hear a response.

He then heard some rustling in her room as it soon got quiet as he then heard Yang, in a sultry voice "Come~in."

Yep. He called it but maybe that's just because he's behind a door and the muffled-ness made her sound that way, right?

Wrong.

He opened the door and there was Yang, wearing nothing but her orange shirt, and black short shorts. Lying on her side, facing the door as had her right hand on her right cheek as she rested her head on it, while her other hand was resting on her left thigh, right next to her butt, as she had a seductive smile and look on her face.

"So, big boy~. Are you ready for me to... Help you~" said Yang, seductively.

Rex, while still standing outside her room couldn't help but stare and blush at how pretty she looked. He knew that she was a flirt and sometimes her attempts at flirting with him could be seen as annoying but he still admired her beauty and how much she could pack a punch. He did like a feisty girl but sometimes she gave feisty the definition sometimes.

He realized that he was been staring at her for too long as his thoughts were stopped by Yang saying "You like what you see~. You've been staring enough that I think you do~"

All this flirting made Rex's emotions go haywire and just close the door shut.

"NO WAIT. COME BACK!" exclaimed Yang as she held her arm out, meaning she wanted him to stop.

"Are you done with whatever you were doing?" said Rex from behind the door.

Yang dropped her arm down as she groaned and said "Yes."

Rex opened the door back up a bit and saw her defeated expression as she sat back up on her bed.

"Why can't you be normal?" asked Rex as he opened the door more and stepped inside.

"You're one to talk, Mr. Metal maker" said Yang as she swung her arms in an exaggerated manner.

Rex was about to protest but she did have a good point as he just said "Touché"

Yang scooted over as she said "Well, I figured that since you did my hair this morning, I thought you were warming up to my flirting so I thought I would step it up a notch. Guess I over did it" as she rubbed the back of her head.

Rex took off his jacket as he sat down on the other side of the bed as he said "Truth be told, I expected you to do it and yet I still felt unprepared for it."

Hearing this made Yang smile a little as she "Well I can't help it. You're just too handsome to resist teasing" as she poked his side, making him flinch but also chuckle a bit.

"Yea I know. This face was chiseled by Gods. So its understandable how girls find me, irresistible. I am quite the catch" said Rex in confidence as he held his chin with his pointer finger and thumb, while nodding.

Yang chuckled a little as she said "Not before I catch you first. Cause you will fall for my charms eventually" as she leaned over and laid her head on his shoulder while looking up at him with a smirk.

Rex just chuckled as he said "You said you were going to help me with my aura or whatever" which made Yang slip off his shoulder and fall onto her bed.

She groaned as she said "Awww, you're no fun. But yes, I'll help you" as she sat back up and turned around to face him.

"Ok so for this to work, you have to face me" informed Yang as Rex did as she said.

"Now you have to close your eyes and remain calm. Try to relax a little" said Yang as Rex did so. He then felt something cold on his face, as he knew exactly what they were.

Yang's hands.

"What are you doing?" asked Rex in a suspicious way as he flinched at her cold touch.

"I have to say a specific saying in order to unlock your aura. Like I said, calm down" said Yang, trying to help Rex.

He calmed down and took a deep breath and let her do her thing, as Yang put her hands back on his head.

Yang took a deep breath and began reciting:

"For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee" said Yang as she used her own aura to help him.

As the aura flowed through the two, Yang saw that he still had his eyes closed and smirked as she knew this was a good time to tease him again. She began to lean forward as she closed her eyes and was about to kiss him...when...

She began to hear a strange sound, like a metallic scraping sound, but also electric sounding, as she opened her eyes and soon saw blue lines forming on his body as they went up to his face and stopped by her hands.

(Y'all know what sound I'm talking about)

Yang was blinded by a flash of a while being blinded by flash of orange and light blue light.

Suddenly, electricity began to spark as it surged into Yang's hands, making her flinch in pain, as a sudden force caused her to go flying back, hitting her wall with a thud as she fell down.

Rex's eyes opened at the sudden jolt he just felt as he saw Yang go flying back. He managed to catch a glimpse of a strange orange glow coming from his body as he also saw the familiar lines on his body as they began to retreat into his body.

The aura died down as it disappeared from his body as Rex felt a bit hazy from their aura unlocking.

"Woah. What was that?" said Rex as he saw the light disappear into his body.

He then got back up and ran over to Yang, who held her head in pain.

"Are you ok?" asked Rex as he held out his hand to help her up, to which Yang accepted.

"Yea, just a bit shocked was all" said Yang as she rubbed her head.

Rex then looked back at where he sat then back to where Yang landed.

"Is that normal?" asked Rex as he pointed to his spot then to where Yang was.

"No it's not. Someone passing out is not unheard of but I have no idea what just happened with you. Your body began to glow orange and then your body grew those blue lines like when you use your builds. Then something made me fly back and hit the wall" said Yang as she began looking around her room and then turned all her attention back to Rex.

"You really are a mystery, aren't you?" said Yang as she placed her hand on her hip.

Rex turned around to face her and said "Come on. I think you know that answer" as they two of them laughed at what had happened in the past few seconds.

Rex then looked at his hand and began opening and closing it as he said "So what happens now?"

"Well, you keep suing your aura and practicing with it, soon your semblance should pop out, sometime" said Yang, picking up some of her pictures that fell down.

Soon the door flung open and the two turned to see Tai bursting into the room.

"Whats wrong. I heard a loud crash!" said Tai in a panicked way.

"Oh, I was just trying to help Rex unlock his semblance and it got out of hand" said Yang, sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her head.

"Yea, she got flung back by something but its going to take more than that to get or take her down" joked Rex.

"You're dang right" said Yang as smirked in confidence as the two laughed at each other.

Tai just sighed as he said "Well whatever happened, its over. Now you can leave, Rex" in a demanding tone.

Yang knew what her dad was doing and just said "Oh come one dad, lighten up. He's not harming anything while being in here"

"You just said that you were flung around after unlocking his semblance" said Tai in annoyance.

"Well... nothing serious at least" said Yang, trying to defend herself.

"I don't care. This is still my house and I say, no boys are allowed in your room. Now out" shouted Tai as he pointed out the door.

Rex flinched at his scolding and said "Alright, alright. Geez. I get the picture" said Rex as he began walking out the door.

But as he walked past Tai at the door, he whispered to Rex "I need to talk to you at night. Kitchen" quietly enough that Yang didn't hear him and just walked to his room.

When he was away from the two, Yang said was "Dad, you're overreacting. He's not a bad person. Can't you trust him a little?" as she wanted her teammate to be friends with her dad.

"Even if he is your teammate, someone with powers like those are a magnet for trouble and I'm just trying to protect my kids. I've lost enough people and I'm not losing you and Ruby" said Tai in a serious voice but grew into one of sadness.

"Even so, he's strong enough to protect himself and us. I trust him, so why don't you?" said Yang as she stormed out of her room and down the hall and down the stairs.

Tai sighed as he saw his oldest daughter walk away. He could tell she was serious about him trusting Rex but he was very scared for his daughter's safety.

Which is why he knew he had to talk to Rex tonight.

While the girls were asleep.

Timeskip to tonight

After that little deal, Rex made it down stairs and found Ruby and Yang playing games and joked around how he was left out. And Yang joked that Ruby was just a sore loser, which she just grumbled at her sister for saying that.

Soon they had dinner and they then went to bed. All expect for Rex.

After supper, he sat on his bed and began to wait for the girls to go to sleep and all that time, he was nervous as to what Tai wanted to talk to him about.

He soon got up and made his way downstairs, trying to not make a sound. He made it to the kitchen and there he saw Tai, sitting at the table as he was holding a picture frame, but Rex couldn't see it.

"Sit" was all Tai said, to which Rex obliged and sat down in a chair beside him, but a bit away from him.

He then lowered the picture frame and he had a somber look on his face.

He then handed the photo over to him and said "Tell me what do you see in this photo?"

Rex took the photo from his hands and looked at it.

It was a photo of Yang snuggling against the same lady that he saw in the photo the first day he came to their house. The lady was on the couch with a little Yang, giving her a kiss on the cheek, as Tai was next to the two of them, as he had his arms holding a baby Ruby, wrapped in a red blanket as she had a cookie in her hands. He knew that lady the most. After all, she was the one that took care of their children.

Her name was Summer Rose.

Rex could tell that this was a happy time in this families life but it seemed different, this family now.

"Is this their mom? In the corner there?" said Rex as he pointed at the lady.

Tai sniffed a little as she said "Yea."

Rex grew a sad look as he could tell that it was a sensitive subject with him. He didn't know much about her, but he knew about Yang's other mother. And already, she didn't sit well with him.

"I know that I heard it from you the other day but what was she like?" asked Rex.

Tai began to feel all kinds of emotions at that moment but the main one was sadness. He hated remembering the past but he figured that since he's done so much for his daughters, he should hear the story from her side. That and he had to tell him something important.

He sighed as he said "Ruby and Yang grew up here in Patch. Me and their mother were Huntsmen. I taught at Signal, and Summer took on missions around the kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose, and she was... a great Mom: Baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters. And then...

...one day she left for a mission...

...and never came back" said Tai as he looked down as he said this, and Rex felt sorry for him. Yea, he heard it a little from the other night, but it felt more serious now.

"It was tough. Ruby was really torn up, but... I think she was still too young to really get what was going on, y'know? And I ended up just kind of... shutting down. And as you remember, Summer wasn't the first wife I lost...

...she was the second. Right after Raven" said Tai as tears began falling down his cheeks.

Rex internally flinched at his words as he had just met her not too long ago as Tai kept talking "Yang would ask questions but I became to detached and just didn't say anything. But that was a mistake I wish I could've changed long ago."

"Why?"asked Rex.

"Well, one day, Yang had secretly found something an old photo of her mom and what she thought was a clue that could lead her to answers, or maybe even her mother was something that could've killed the both of them.

Rex was shocked to her this as he asked "What happened?"

"She waited for me to leave the house, then put Ruby in a wagon, and headed out. She traveled to an old house, that me and Raven used to live in before we moved here. And she was almost killed by a grim. But, as luck would have it, Qrow showed up just in time."

"My stubbornness to not say anything almost got them killed that night" said Tai as he wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Tai... I'm sorry that happened to you" said Rex as he placed his hand on his shoulder.

"After the incident with the house and the grim, I gave Yang the scolding of a lifetime. You know, "Why would you do that" and "you could've died" and all that jazz. She ,of course, cried and just told me that she wanted to find out about Raven. Where she was and all that, but I was just so angry with her, I sent her to her room and grounded her. I should've told her the truth, right then and there" said Tai.

"Why? What happened after that?" asked Rex.

"Well, her stubbornness didn't stop there as she began to train herself to become strong and it was later found out that her training was just so she could eventually go out on her own and find her" said Tai as grabbed the photo back from Rex and stared at it.

"She even tried making her own weapons because she figured that the journey would be tough so she needed to protect myself so she made those gauntlets of hers behind my back" as he still stared at the photo.

"Then what happened next ended up being the last straw for me. It was when she went to a club out in Vale, because there was a man that might have had info on finding Raven..." said Tai as he began to recall Yang's journey, through her words, into Junior's club.

Flashback

Yang was riding her motorcycle through the streets of Vale as she then eventually stopped in front of a club that was blasting music.

As she walked through the club, she made her way down the stairs and made her way to the bar where Junior was, as two other girls were right beside him.

"Strawberry Sunrise. No ice. Oh, and one of those little umbrellas" said Yang to the bartender, which made Junior turn to look at her.

He just groaned as he said "Aren't you a little young to be in this club, Blondie?"

Yang giggled as she said "Aren't you a little old to have a name like Junior?"

"So you know who I am. You got a name, sweetheart?" asked Junior.

Yang giggled again as she said "Yes, Junior, I've got several. But instead of sweetheart, you can just call me sir" as she trailed her finger up his vest but then grabbed his groin and squeezed it painfully, causing Junior to cry out in pain, comically.

Yang's voice became a serious one as she said "People say you know everything."

She then brought up her scroll up to his face, showing him a picture of a woman, which Junior looked at, trying to see if he had seen her.

"Tell me where I can find her and I'll let you go" said Yang in a threatening tone as Junior kept looking at the photo and her.

Junior's voice became a straining one as he said "I've never seen her before, I swear!"

"Excuse me?" said Yang as she squeezed even tighter.

Junior groaned even more as he said "I swear, sir!"

Seeing that their boss was in trouble, Junior's henchman begin to gather around them.

Yang just smirked as she said "Hmm, looks like we have an audience. This must kind of embarrassing for you, huh? Awkward..." as she just saw the desperate face he was making.

"Listen, blondie sir. If you want to make it out of this club alive, I suggest you let me go. Now!" begged Junior but also in a slight demanding tone.

Yang just sighed as she let go of him and Junior sighed in relief.

Junior then straightened himself out as he said "You'll pay for that!" as he put on his sunglasses and walked away from her.

Yang followed closely behind as she said "Oh Junior, I was just playing with you! Don't be so sensitive! Come on, lets kiss and make up, okay?" as she teased him.

Junior stopped after hearing her words and turned around as he saw Yang had a smirk on her face in a sort of sultry way. Junior just figured "What the hell" and decided to do it.

But as he leaned in to kiss her...

...she punched him in the face, sending him flying across the room, crashing into some stage equipment and causing people to flee.

The henchmen saw their boss get hurt and began to run towards her.

Yang then activated her gauntlets as the henchmen drew in closer to her, she jumped into the air and punched down on the ground, sending them flying back.

They shook it off and began attacking her but every attempt they made, Yang was able to move faster and managed to blast them away with her gauntlets and her kicks.

As she took out all the henchmen, the DJ began to fire a machine gun at her and punched it around and out into the center stage, when the two malachite twins step into the room.

One of the girls was a teenager with long black hair and pale green eyes, highlighted by heavy cyan makeup. She wears a white, strapless dress with cyan lining. Her accessories include a large white flower hairpin above her left ear, a white feather scarf, a silver pad with cyan and red feathers on her left shoulder, white gloves, a small silver bracer over the glove on her left arm, a bow in the center of the top-most part of her bodice, a silver chained belt, cyan wings on the lower back, and long white boots with blades at the heels. Her name was Melanie.

The other girl was another teenager with short black hair and pale green eyes, highlighted by heavy red makeup. She wears a red strapless dress with black lining. Her accessories include large red and white feathers above her left ear, black fur hanging off her shoulders and held at the front by a dark gray chain, red gloves, a black bow tied around her waist, and long red boots with very high stiletto heels. Her name was Miltia.

"Melanie, who is this girl?" asked Miltia.

"I dunno Miltia but we should teach her a lesson" said Melanie as they both pulled out their weapons.

Yang chuckled as she loaded another belt of ammunition into her gauntlets and began fighting the twins as they kept swiping at her blasts and kicking her to the side. After a tough battle, Yang managed to take out the twins after a struggle.

She began panting as the holograms in the club suddenly turned off and a spotlight shined on Junior as he brought out his Bazooka weapon.

Junior gave Yang a scowl as he said in a deep voice "You're gonna pay for this!"

He then fired several shots at Yang but she was able to avoid them. She came in close and Bega punching Junior around as he struck her with the Bazooka. She was knocked back but she then activated her semblance and began punching Junior around and in one final attack, her eyes turned red and she punched him with a heavy hit, causing Junior to flying back.

She looked over and saw his bazooka was broken and in his other hand, were some yellow strands of hair, to which he turned to face Yang and saw her angry expression at him rippignotu her own hair.

She then fired her semblance up and charged towards him and took him out in a fierce punch. He flew out the window, landing in middle of the street.

Yang ran after him and made it outside but when she got out, she wasn't met with just Junior in the middle of the street.

She was met with several cop cars, flashing their lights and some barricades outside.

Yang saw this and just went "Aww crap."

End of flashback

After hearing that, Rex was shocked that she did that.

"Yeesh. I knew she was a flirt but dang" joked Rex as Tai just glared at him, making Rex flinch.

"Ok, ok. Trying to lighten the mood. Yeesh" said Rex as he put his hands up but then let them down.

"So what happened after that bar fight?" asked Rex.

Tai sighed as he sat up and said "Soon after that, I met her at the police station. I scolded her for doing this reckless fight and how she could've been shot and died in that club."

"Protective parents will do that" said Rex in quiet truthful way.

"Anyways, since I was a friend of Ozpin, I managed to pull some strings and she wasn't going to jail after that. But I knew what she was going to do something else drastic, just so she could get some answers about her mom so I made me a deal" said Tai as laid the photo down.

Rex could see he was feeling down so he asked "And what was that?"

"That if she became a strong huntress at Beacon Academy, stayed there and focus on being a good fighter and not go off and make more bad decisions like this, then I would tell her about Raven. Where she is and all that jazz" said Tai as he rubbed his finger over the picture of the family.

"And for the time she's been at Beacon, she said she's trying to be the best but she hates school. About how its boring and a snore fest. So she thought that if she worked hard and become strong, then she could maybe get by in this school. And she said you were a part of that factor" said Tai as he still rubbed his thumb over the picture.

"Me? What do you mean?" asked Rex.

"I could see it in her eyes. Even if she doesn't say it, she sees you as a way be even stronger than before and she thinks that you might be a way to find her mom" said Tai.

"Wait, so you're saying that she wants me to help her become stronger so she can get the answers about Raven from you?" asked Rex.

Tai took a deep sigh and said "Yea. Normally, I'd be glad that she wants to work hard so she can get some answers but since its you that she thinks will be a good way to get stronger, it made me worry about not only her safety but also Ruby's."

Rex was still shocked that he wasn't trusting him. His tone of voice and words made it still seem like that he still doesn't want him in the house.

"Dude, are you serious? You still don't trust me to protect Yang and Ruby. I mean, have you seen what I can do?" said Rex as he held out his arms.

Tai sighed and said "Yes, I saw it all on the news. But I also saw the White Fang on the news and you were battling them. Which means that you've put a target on your back. But you've also put targets on my daughters backs too. And I don't want the White Fang coming after them. I've lost enough people in my life. I'm not losing my baby girls" said Tai as he began to lightly sob as tears stained his table.

Rex was surprised at all of the things that he just told him. Admittedly, he had a feeling that something like this would happen. Even when some of the people at Beacon, mostly the Faunus, were supportive of him winning the fight against Cardin, he knew that there would still be people that didn't completely trust him.

Internally, Rex was full of conflicting emotions. He felt bad for Yang and her reason for being a huntress but he was more angry at Raven for leaving Yang Tai and yet she come by the house for him and not her husband and daughter. He knew that Raven had put him on her list and knew that she would be coming after him but it also seemed to be affecting Tai, that she would only stop by just for Rex.

He then turned to him and said "I get it, alright."

Hearing this, Tai lifted his head and faced him.

"Yea I ended up on the news and people now know about my powers. But I knew this would happen. That my secrets would get out. For the time I was at Beacon, no one knew about my powers and do you want to know why" asked Rex.

"Why?" asked Tai as he wiped away some tears.

"Because your daughters and their friends, who are now my friends, never spoke a word of my powers to anyone. They kept them a secret because they too knew the risk if my powers were leaked to the world. Yes, what happened was bad, but I had a feeling it would happen. But we still stayed friends. Plus, at the docks, I was able to keep my friends from being killed. But they also knew how to fight. So don't worry Tai..." said Rex as he began to stand up, to which Tai looked up at him.

Rex pointed his right thumb at his right pectoral and said "...Because I promise that I'm going to protect them. And bring them back to you without a scratch. Why. Because I'm awesome like that" finished Rex with a smirk.

Tai was in shock at his words. And he said it with such confidence. Tai just looked down at the table as he began to think more on his words.

He wanted to believe him because after seeing his battle on the news, he knew that he could hold his own in a fight. But he was still worried about his daughter's safety. But he couldn't follow them to the school. He had to teach and they had to grow up on their own.

Tai then wiped all the tears off of his face and leaned back in his chair as he looked up at Rex.

"I'm still skeptical about you. But I guess that's mainly because with those powers of yours, you'll become a target for all the other criminals in the world. But I guess that if you can fight the White Fang of all criminal organizations and still come out on top, then I guess you are strong enough. But don't be fooled, they will come for you" warned Tai.

But Rex just chucked as he said "Then let them come. They mess with my friends, they mess with me" as he held his right arm up as he clenched his fist while holding his bicep with his left arm, with a confident smirk.

Tai just couldn't help but chuckle at how "serious" the kid was being but he was glad he had enough confidence in himself to win.

But his chuckle stopped as he then said "Please, bring my girls home safely. Anytime you come home, I better see that they're ok. I've lost enough people, and I'm not losing my special girls" in a somber tone.

"Don't worry. They'll be back to bug the next time we come back" said Rex in a joking manner.

Tai sighed as he said "You better. Because if they are not ok the next time we meet, I'm grabbing the shotgun and I'mma using it" in joking manner, but Rex could tell he wasn't joking about that.

"You got it, sir. Though even if you tried, you wouldn't win" said Rex as he gave him the double finger gun pose.

Tai just chuckled a bit at how silly he was still being.

Rex soon looked at the time and said "Well, better get back to bed. See you tomorrow, Mr. Xiao-Long" as he began walking away.

"Please, just call me Tai" said Tai with a smirk.

"Sure thing" said Rex as he began walking away.

As Tai still sat in the kitchen, happy that Rex was going to be protecting Yang and Ruby, Rex began to think more on his situation. He just signed on to protecting Yang and Ruby because o him being on the news, he just became a target for many criminals in Remnant, but he knew that wouldn't be a problem for him, since Raven was already after him. And he had to deal with Salem and whoever followed her. But if he found Raven again, he hoped he could get some answers out of her. Maybe even chance Raven's mind about not coming home. But one thing he was still sure about.

He still couldn't tellYang and Ruby about Salem. If Yang really wanted to see her mom, then he couldn't drag her into his problems with Salem. So maybe he can get Raven to come home and not get Yang and the rest involved with Salem. And try to keep the rest of his friends away from Salem.

They had families to go back to and it was his job to make sure that that would happen, even if he had to lie to them. He didn't want to lose them.

It was a crazy life Rex had stumbled into but it seemed to be one he was enjoying. He knew he had his work cut out for him but he knew he could try and get the job done. It wasn't going to be easy but hey, that's the life of a hero.
