Yumi was dusting the lobby at the heroes residence hall, the same place where some of the most respected up and coming heroes had been staying for the past few weeks. Honestly, she couldn't believe it when they all came by to pick up room keys with their temporary housing forms. She herself wasn't a hero, but she had been working in the industry for several years now. It was mostly property management for heroes and other related individuals, and it made good money. Despite how aggravating it was to deal with her tenants at times. When these new heroes had shown up she'd started getting very self-conscious about the state of the lobby, so here she was in her free time dusting the lobby, and she was just about done too.

She walked over to the desk, pulled out the box with the cleaning supplies, and was putting away her stuff when she looked up out of the lobby doors and gave a contented sigh with her work. Then she blinked, the lights shining outside the lobby doors were rippling like water. She watched with utter shock as figures in all black and holding weapons simply rippled into existence. The figures immediately started towards the door, so she hit the lockdown button under the desk out of sheer reflex.

Every emergency light started flashing, and speakers started putting out an alarm. Steel shutters started to slam down across every window across the building, they tried to shut down on the door but one of the figures ran up and put a hand on the bottom of the descending shutter. The shutter and then glass doors started to curl, like rolling up a rug, being curled upward until they stopped at the wall above them. The figures in black moved into the lobby. She hadn't managed even ten steps before they gunned her down.

Kaminari was curled into a fetal position, leaning against the nearby wall. The sounds of the fighting from the hallway echoed around him. His eyes were open but he didn't really see the room, he just stared at something else a thousand miles away.

He could hear the popping and hissing of electricity as he ran down the rows of smaller transformers and power lines to the main step-up transformer. The other heroes and his friends had tried to stop him but he'd ignored them. He was the only one that could stop it, the only one who could save them. If he didn't act then Shigaraki's mercenary ally Zeus would use his power to overload the power plant, the substations, and every electrical device he could reach with the combined power of the plant and his own powers. He'd cause a blackout along the entire coast, leaving cities and civilians open to sudden attack. The casualties would inevitably become catastrophic and his friends and allies would all be reduced to ashes. They were all too close, and the blast too imminent. The station would explode in a burst of electricity so massive they'd never be able to get out of the blast zone in time.

Zeus was the league's latest trump card, no one had even considered the possibility that they might hire a private mercenary army. The league's finances had been greater than they had initially estimated, and the recent addition of Chisaki's organization (or what remained) would only serve to increase their revenue stream from the underworld. Zeus was a wanted international villain, known to be hiding in some largely uninhabited zone in the middle east. Though no one was sure what nation it might be in. To see him here meant that AFO had contacts that could reach potentially anyone and anywhere. They had been lured into a trap and Shigaraki had made his grand reveal with Zeus only a couple of minutes ago.

He finally came to the point where the primary power lines going from the plant to the massive step-up transformer, the large cords well insulted. So using the crowbar he'd grabbed on the way, he popped the cover off of the side of the transformer used to reach in and perform repairs if needed. He ignored the calls of his friends and slammed his hands directly onto the live wires and conducted. He couldn't even begin to articulate the pain the electricity caused, not even a few seconds connected and he could feel his mind beginning to shut down and revert to its handicapped state as if he'd expended all his energy. But in that short time, he could FEEL Zeus's presence, his power arcing from the power plant to the first available step-up transformer connected to the network. Kaminari started blasting electricity out of his body into the sky, like a giant valve he redirected all the electricity from the station into his body and then out. He couldn't hear, couldn't see, his senses had failed him, then the massive charge from Zeus hit him and he simply exploded.

The electrical explosion turned the entire step-up transformer into a pile of slag and melted several smaller transformers and power lines in the process. Yet he had managed to alter the pathway of the massive electrical charge into the sky. When his friends found him afterward, he was catatonic. He had fried his brain so badly that most of his memories and motor skills had been erased. That had been it for his career as a hero, but his sacrifice had it possible for the war to continue, and eventually, lead to the defeat of the League as a whole.

He had started to recover over time, his mind slowly repaired itself, and memory and motor skills returned over time as well. The rate of recovery had slowed as time passed, and it had seemed that there would be some things he would never remember. But the recent fight that had broken out in the hallway beyond and in the city as a whole... Something about it had been the triggers he needed. He was flashing back to all sorts of things, from his childhood, his time at U.A., and his brief time during the war. It was returning, and he could do nothing but curl up and deal with it.

Things were bad, to say the least, but at least they had been given some warning by the alarm system activating. They had all burst from the room they had been, going over maps and trying to compile a list of likely spots to have a base large enough for Zeus.

One of the villains had a poison gas quirk, and now the entire hallway was filled with the sickly purplish-grey mist. Momo fired several rounds from her gauss rifle down the hallway, removing portions of the walls whenever they missed their target. She'd killed at least five of them so far but they just kept getting back up with giant holes in them where the gauss rounds punched clean through their bodies. Mina was doing better, her acid guns had managed to reduce two of the walking corpses to a pile of hissing acid; Shinso's quirk didn't work since they never responded to his calls but was still contributing by using a pistol and chucking grenades that Momo had made for him to blow any disabled corpses into fragments. Jirou and Kaminari were largely useless but Jirou at least remembered training and was shooting a handgun while trying to pinpoint the puppet master's location with her ear jacks embedded into the wall. She was being slowed by the building's fantastic construction though, the soundproofing almost nullified her quirk altogether. It wasn't perfect though and Jirou had never stopped training her quirk and she was making steady progress, whoever was controlling the corpses wasn't on this floor or the floor below it, so they were either on the bottom floor or outside of the residence hall altogether.

Momo ducked into the doorway as a stream of silver needles was shot out of the hands of one of the living villains. The needles embedded themselves into the concrete wall, others just deflecting off and clattering to the ground. She went to poke her head out and take another shot when she felt a sudden burst of pain in her left thigh. She looked down and saw a silver needle embedded in it, only it was rapidly changing color to blood red. She went to remove it but it suddenly flew out of her thigh and back down the passage. She saw similar needles join it and she looked over to the opposite door and saw Mina clutching her arm which was bleeding. Then she saw two more needles whiz past her, from further up the hallway where Jirou and Shinso were sheltered.

She looked down the hallway and saw the villain that had shot the needles at them, duck into the doorway at the end of the hall, and presumably down the stairs from there.

"Damn" Thought Momo, convinced the villains had just accomplished some kind of objective.

Now thoroughly angry, she ducked into the room whose doorway she was using as cover and removed her shirt. Then she started to make two large objects from her now exposed back while she made multiple objects sprout from her torso. When she was done, she quickly put on her shirt and picked up the weapon, then started feeding it the ammo she had created. She could feel her lipid supply substantially drained and fatigue was starting to creep up on her. She was already sweating. After she loaded the weapon, she attached the weapon to her shoulder, brought the shield up in front of her then slammed the weapon into the rotating slot on the front. She looked out through a small clear visor in the front and walked into the hallway. It was heavy and progress was slow, but she could fire small grenades without the threat of reprisal, and if she ran out of ammo she just materialized more from her arm and they dropped directly into the ammo feeder. Bullets and quick attacks slammed into her massive tower shield but they couldn't punch through. The grenades meanwhile had killed the rest of the living villains and now only their reanimated corpses remained, though they were quickly being turned into gory fragments spattering the hallway and doorways. By the time she reached the door to the staircase, the villains were dead and there were none on the staircase. Momo detached herself from her shield and propped it up against the stairwell landing. She took a few unsteady steps before promptly falling over and passing out the moment she hit the floor.

Mina and the others scoured the building, but in the end, they couldn't find the puppet master. While their search may have proven fruitless, they did discover to what degree the city had been attacked. They'd gotten in contact with Nezu, and after ensuring Momo was all right and resting in her room after force-feeding her some of her special lipid restoring foods. Mina, Shinso, and Jirou set out to go help where Nezu directed them. Kaminari volunteered to stay behind to keep an eye on Momo and barricade the stairwell as best he could.

It was several hours later that the sound of fighting stopped once and for all, and a couple more until Tokoyami showed up at the residence hall. By that time Momo had woken up and had ravenously consumed three more lipid bars. The special lipid foods Momo had, had specially designed for her ranged from solids to liquids just so Momo would be ready for any situation she might need them for. The problem had been that everyone had been in Mina and Kirishima's room when the attack occurred and they hadn't managed to grab any before they had come under fire. With the experimental body modifications she had done to her, she could rapidly digest and use the materials of food and drink that she consumed. The bars were designed to be ready for her use in only a couple of minutes. In skirmishes in the past, she had been forced to eat constantly throughout their encounters just so she didn't starve herself to death from trying to force more out of her body than it could provide. It had almost happened once too, her quirk had started to cannibalize her own body just to meet the demands Momo required of it. Starving herself to death was a very real danger to her.

The two of them were heading down to the lobby when Momo got a call from Nezu.

"What's happening?" she asked, forestalling anything Nezu might have to say.

Nezu merely took it in stride, responding calmly. "Civilian casualties are not expected to be very high, injuries are another matter. The assault was focused and targeted on key personnel or areas. We have since eliminated all enemy personnel and secured all contested areas. Several heroes have been killed, and several more may still die from injuries. Medical assistance is being flown in from the nearest military base as are reinforcements. The police station has had the first floor completely demolished, but casualties were minimal. That is the current state of affairs, any other questions?"

There was a pause, "Yes sir, what about the other members of 1A?" she asked, dreading the answer.

"It would be best if you went to the hospital, I expect Dr. Okimi will be more up-to-date on that matter. However, before you do, did any of you at the residence hall have your blood taken?" Asked Nezu.

"Yes sir, a villain with the ability to produce and control needles managed to get some of our blood before retreating. Kaminari was in one of the rooms however and so they couldn't get to him." She said.

"It would appear one of Zeus's goals was to steal the blood from as many heroes as possible. Several others have reported having blood drained from them, and it is likely some of the dead heroes also had their blood drained shortly before their death. The hospital even had blood samples stolen, when you get to the hospital try and get more details for me. I'll be coordinating the recovery efforts for a while yet." Said Nezu before signing off.

Momo put her phone back into her pocket and turned to Kaminari. "Everyone else is probably at the hospital, so we're heading there," she said before making her way to the lobby doors.

As she did, she looked over to the counter and saw bullet holes in the wall. She turned and went over to the desk, and she discovered the body of Yumi the building manager.

Momo's expression didn't change. She closed her eyes and bowed her head, sending up a prayer for the girl. She rounded the desk and flipped the girl over onto her back, and did her best to not look at the expression on the girl's face. She just folded the arms on the chest and then closed her eyes.

Kaminari didn't do anything but stare at the body, but it was as if he was staring through her. He didn't move at all until Momo shook him out of whatever had taken hold of him. So she guided him out of the building and towards the hospital.

They didn't get to the hospital until a few hours later, taking time to help out in the recovery efforts where they could. Eventually, though they arrived at the crowded hospital. There were makeshift tents set up outside the building where lines of lightly injured people were waiting to be examined. Inside was even worse, injured people were lining the hallways and waiting rooms while every nurse and doctor both on and off duty rushed about doing what they could. It took them another twenty minutes before they found someone with the time to talk to them.

"Dr. Okimi? She should still be in her office. She exhausted herself treating the critically injured and we had to shut her in her office so she didn't quite literally pass out in the middle of a procedure. You can try and see if she's awake, but don't wake her otherwise. She needs her rest, and she actually did manage to reduce the critically injured to a manageable level." Said the doctor, pointing down a nearby hallway before continuing on her way.

Momo and Kaminari went down the hallway indicated and eventually found Dr. Okimi's office in an area that was definitely lacking any sort of human presence. Momo knocked on the door before she heard a tired "come in..."

She opened to door and saw Dr. Okimi sitting at the end of a military cot, a steaming mug of something likely caffeinated in one hand, while she looked over something on a PDA. Dr. Okimi looked up at them and gestured them to sit down on two chairs near the door.

They sat down, but before Momo could say anything, Dr. Okimi spoke up.

"Your friends are on the top floor. Shoto Todoroki has suffered numerous injuries both external and internal. Eijirou Kirishima was almost blasted apart by some kind of shockwave quirk, most of his bones were broken in several places. Katsuki Bakugo is suffering from extensive loss of blood and numerous injuries besides, he's lucky he didn't actually die from his lack of blood. And Tsuyu Asui... well... I'm afraid she's dead. Several point-blank gunshots wounds, she was pronounced dead at the scene. We removed the bullets and I repaired the injuries. Your friends insisted on having her body with them. You'd best head upstairs." She said, never looking up from her PDA, her expression didn't so much as twitch.

Momo walked down the hallway in a daze, the thought of Tsu being dead was too unreal, too unnatural, it couldn't be possible. Somehow though, they managed to get to the top floor, where they ran into Shinso who was coming out of a restroom.

"Shinso..." Said Momo, looking at him but not really taking him in.

"Good, we tried to send you two messages but everything is moving slowly and Nezu's got the towers running at full power. We weren't sure if you'd get the messages." He said, looking relieved to see them.

"Tsu... where is she..." Said Momo, not really hearing what he said.

Shinso walked over and put a hand to each of their backs and guided her down the hallway. Eventually, he opened a door and ushered them inside, where Momo's daze was broken at the sight of Tsu sitting at the edge of a bed, one hand running through Ochako's hair who was passed out in her lap. The area around Ochako's eyes was red and swollen, and it was plainly obvious she had likely cried herself to sleep in conjunction with the relief she had likely felt at Tsu's recovery.

"Tsu!" Cried Momo and ran to hug her.

Tsu hugged her back with one arm, keeping the other on Ochako's head.

"Dr. Okimi said you were dead, how..." She asked, now dazed for a completely different reason. Then she spotted Todoroki in another bed, who was sitting up, a pillow behind him.

She ran at Todoroki and threw herself into his arms. She hugged him for several seconds, before releasing and kissing him for several more seconds.

"I'm fine, just a bit battered is all." He muttered into her ear.

"You better be..." she mumbled back. Then she finally released him and sniffed a bit, before turning back to Tsu.

"Sorry," she said.

Tsu merely smiled at her before saying what she had been about to say earlier.

"I assume someone informed you I was dead, which wasn't wrong, ribbit. I was actually dead for several hours. If you recall, my quirk awakening allows me to replicate the powers of any frog, which ever since quirks came about made those abilities far more varied, it's just a matter of learning about them and then trying to replicate them. When I was shot I used my quirk to lower my heartbeat to the point that it stopped. So when my injuries were healed that was a signal to my quirk to wake me back up. I could have stayed like that until I actually did die though, so I was banking on Dr. Okimi or someone healing me enough to where the bullet wounds weren't fatal." She explained, continuing to stroke Ochako's head. Momo couldn't help but smile, it was like watching some old lady pet a cat that had curled up on her lap.

"It was fortunate that you did awaken, had you failed too, I imagine both me and Ochako would have lost control." Said Tokoyami who sitting in a chair in a corner, his hands clasped together in an attempt to disguise the fact that he was shaking.

Momo felt goosebumps at that. Dark Shadow likely would have gone feral due to Tokoyami's mental state, and Ochako probably would have relapsed into what she had been like during the mopping-up action following the final battle. While they could contain Dark Shadow, trying to keep Ochako in check would have been far more difficult; if she got her hands on the QUEESS, then it was hard to say if it would even be possible.

Momo looked around the room but saw no sign of Bakugo, Kirishima, Mina, or Jirou.

"Where are the others?" she asked.

"One-room down, Kirishima still hasn't woken up and Bakugo is still pretty weak. Dr. Okimi can't use her quirk to replace lost blood, so he's gonna be out of it for a bit. He got a transfusion though, so he'll recover in good time but for the next week, he's definitely going to have to sit out any assignments. Though knowing him, he'll manage to get in as backup or something." Said Shinso, yawning at the end.

"I'll let you all get some sleep, me and Kaminari will go check on the others," Momo said, giving Todoroki one last kiss before heading to the room with everyone else.

They went into the room and found Jirou, sitting next to Bakugo who was sitting up, propped by pillows. He was very pale, but not necessarily unhealthy, but looked exhausted. Across from him in the other bed was Kirishima; while not necessarily injured, he was a mass of bruises. Mina was seated next to his bed and had one of his hands in hers. They all looked over at the two newcomers.

"Denki!" Said Jirou who immediately got up from her seat and hugged Kaminari. Then she hugged Momo.

Mina looked relieved to see them all right, while Bakugo maintained his scowl, though his shoulders did lose some of their tension. All together, 1A had managed to come out of this one intact, though several of them had come perilously close to death and Tsu had actually been clinically dead for several hours. All the assault on the city did was reinforce how powerful and dangerous Zeus had become, and while he might have failed to retrieve Eri, he did manage to get a hold of the blood of several heroes. What he wanted it for was anyone's guess, but it wasn't likely to be good whatever the case.
