The massive bolt of psychic energy slammed into the hospital doors, but the thin barrier covering the entire hospital still held firm. Jackie stamped a foot in anger and started pacing while staring at the translucent barrier that flowed like water over the whole building.

Her team had been sent to retrieve Eri and to eliminate any wounded heroes they may find. They'd arrived fine, and killed the hospital director, but a barrier had been erected from within the building and so far nothing they had thrown at it had made a dent. They'd been trying to find a way in for the past ten minutes but with no luck.

While she paced in thought, she sent another casual lance of psychic energy at the barrier, only to have the barrier again resist and send ripples across the barrier like water. She didn't think the user could keep it up forever, so without any other options, she resorted to bombarding the barrier with a constant barrage of psychic lances. It was a crude method, and she hated crude methods. Ripples scattered across the barrier constantly as she hit random locations across the building front.

She'd sent her team to scour the outside for any way in or a weakness in the barrier. A few had returned and stood around bored. Those who hadn't returned were busy doing the same thing she was, trying to smash the barrier.

Jackie yawned as she kept up the barrage when there she heard a boom and the earth shake for a moment. She paused in her barrage and turned around, over where Zeus's "new ally" was located a massive column of dirt and dust had been sent into the sky. As she watched, she saw a second smaller plume, followed quickly by a second larger one. Each tremendous impact echoed across the city.

"Not earthquakes... but massive impacts..." she thought, narrowing her eyes.

"Whatever Zeus's "ally" is doing, it must be one hell of a fight." She thought, then she turned back to her task of trying to break the barrier. As she did, she thought she saw a flash of light out of the corner of her eye. She turned back and scanned the area behind her, but there was nothing. Just an empty path leading to the parking lot.

She turned back to the hospital front when she saw the same flash of light to her far right, round the hospital's nearest corner leading to the side of the building. Feeling uneasy, she went to her radio.

"What was that flash?" she asked.

She waited but there was no response.

"Well? Anybody?" she asked, growing annoyed.

When there was still no response she rolled her eyes and gestured for a small group standing around.

"Go see what happened." she barked.

The group grabbed their weapons and jogged over to the side of the building. While they were jogging the same flash of light came from behind the hospital, and despite the building height, the flash was strong enough to be seen from where she stood.

Feeling uneasy she went to her radio again.

"What the hell is happening?" she asked.

"I'm not sure ma'am, but the team at the back of the hospital is no longer responding." came the voice of the team leader on the left-hand side of the building.

"Well get over there and assess the situation. If we have a company I want to know about it." she barked.

"Ma'am, we got a visual on the right-hand side... Everyone on this side of the building is gone." came the grim voice of the team leader she'd sent to check things out.

"What do you mean gone?" She demanded, growing equal parts annoyed and nervous.

"I'm not sure, there are just piles of... dust I thin-." The talker cut himself off before speaking again. "Check that, piles of ash. They've been incinerated..." he said grimly.

Then there was another flash closer to but not quite at the left side of the building.

"Report!" she barked.

When there was no response, she cursed and hit the radio again.

"Pull back to the front, whoever is doing this won't find me such an easy target," she said.

A few moments later the last remnants of her team ran around the corner and stopped next to her.

She created a psychic dome around them, and not a moment too soon. As there was a tremendous flash of light outside the barrier and a scorch mark riming the outside of the barrier appeared.

Jackie blinked and tried to clear her vision, the light had been near blinding but her barrier had weakened the light enough that she didn't actually go blind. She strengthened the barrier, and the outside became distorted. Like looking through a veil of water.

Then a spot of light appeared above them and they looked up. A figure stood atop the hospital, glowing with a golden light. Then the figure stepped off the roof and fell feet first, slamming into a crouched position. Then they stood up as if they hadn't just dropped eight stories. As the figure got closer, Jackie's eyes widened and she spun round.

Only to see what she had overlooked before, the body of the hospital director had vanished. She spun back round to the front to face the hospital director who had a hole in her clothes but otherwise showed no signs of Jackie's psychic lance having hit her.

"It took me a while, but I eventually managed to reconstitute my heart. You got me by surprise, I didn't have the time to tap into my well properly before your attack put a nice hole through me. So it took me extra time to repair my heart since I had to keep myself alive without a heart for a while" the woman said conversationally, tapping the dome as she came up close to it.

"You've killed my team?" Jackie asked.

"Hmmm? Yes of course." the woman said, tapping the barrier again and starting to walk around it.

"I may be a doctor, but I always have been, and always will be a hero first and foremost. You have come to my hospital with the intent of harming the people within, and that, I will not permit." She said icily, eyes narrowing slightly.

"Your quirk heals, it doesn't fucking incinerate people!" Jacki said angrily, she hated not having all the facts and being taken by surprise like this.

"That is only one half of my quirk, the half my mother gave me. My father... gave me the other." She said, raising one hand toward the psychic barrier.

The woman's eyes flashed gold and from the raised hand a massive burst of light flared out. Jackie created a personal barrier around herself as the dome was ripped apart. When the light died, Jackie stood among a pile of ash.

Jackie sent a lance through the woman's heart but before her eyes, golden light filled the hole mere milliseconds after it had been made and it was as if nothing had happened.

"You-" the woman started to say before Jackie blew her entire upper half apart with a massive wave of psychic energy.

Once again the light reconstituted the woman who was now nude from the waist up.

The woman sighed and looked down.

"Damn... I was hoping to keep my clothes..." she sighed.

Then the woman's body started to shine like a small golden sun. Every last piece of clothing she was wearing was immediately incinerated and where her feet met the sidewalk, it bubbled and melted. Her eyes had gone solid gold, and like water, the golden light flowed off her.

Beautiful and terrible all at once, Jackie took an involuntary step back. She was no highly skilled combatant, she used her psychic powers mostly for her research and keeping hounds in check.

Wings of golden light formed behind the woman and she rose into the air. She casually raised a hand toward Jackie. From the palm a mote of light appeared, it grew brighter and brighter until it was as if the sun had risen early, so bright and clear were the surroundings.

For a brief moment, Jackie flashed back to the war, when one of the six angles had appeared with golden wings of light had cut through their lines like butter. In a panic, Jackie created the strongest psychic barriers she could and desperately sent lances at the woman. As the lances punched through the woman's body, the areas she hit burst into a golden light in the form of mist, which was sucked back into the woman's body. This was way beyond anything she was trained to deal with. Retaining her barrier she turned to run just as the woman shot the miniature sun at her.

The miniature sun went through her barriers as if they didn't exist. Then the sun burst, the condensed ball of thermal energy exploding upward into a column of light that reached the top of the highest buildings in the city. All the while there was not a sound made, save the rush of air.

Okimi lowered herself to the ground and just started to wind down her power when a massive slab of rubble slammed into the spot she was standing. The heat surrounding her body was so great though that it caused the slab of rubble to melt around her. She jumped in surprise and looked up to see Ochako Uraraka floating above her, the QUEESS glowing an angry pink, and another slab of rubble at the ready. Okimi felt the faint presence of her power clinging to her, apparently, the batteries she'd charged with her healing light had been used.

"Would you please not do that? You scared me half to death." Okimi said annoyed.

After a brief pause, Ochako floated down next to her.

"Who are you?" she asked, raising a hand to shield her eyes.

Okimi started to wind down her power, the light fading. As she did, she saw Ochako lower her hand, and then her eyes went wide.

"You... that light..." she whispered.

"Yes, that was me. I don't like fighting, but before I became Recovery Girls' protege, I was training to be a regular hero. My father was one as well, and he started my training early. So I can fight pretty well." she said, the light fading.

As her form became clearly visible once more, she saw Ochako look away in embarrassment.

"Umm... you seem to be missing your clothes..." Ochako said awkwardly.

Okimi just rolled her eyes and walked back to the front of the hospital, where her coat was still hung over the bench she'd left it at. She put it on and buttoned it up, then turned back to face the young woman.

"Are you injured?" she asked, as she removed a pair of black glasses from her coat pocket and put them on.

"Uhh, no I don't think so," she said, looking down.

"Good, I should get back inside and open the hospital back up," Okimi said, turning and walking to the main doors which were still shrouded by the thin barrier.

"Wait!" She heard Ochako say.

"What," she said, turning around.

"There are probably some badly injured people in the crater, a lot of heroes fought to keep the enemy that flattened that part of the city at bay," she said, gesturing to where the crater was.

"I'll have someone go over and check things out. Anything else?" she said, crossing her arms. She could see there was something else bothering the young hero.

"I... Uhh... is your family name Kishi?" she asked.

"Yes... why do you ask?" she said, frowning.

"Before your father died, he wanted me to tell you that he was sorry and that he loves you," she said.

Okimi blinked, opened her mouth to say something then closed it. It took her a moment to find the words to respond but eventually, she said, "Thank you."

"He saved my life more than once, he was a great hero," Ochako said.

"He was a great hero, at the expense of being a father at times, but... thank you," Okimi said. Then she turned and went to the barrier.

"MEI! IT'S ME! LOWER THE BARRIER!" she yelled point-blank into the barrier.

There was a pause and then the barrier faded. A moment later the steel shutters across the hospital slowly rose back up into their housings and hospital security could be seen on either side of the doors.

"The threat is resolved, return to your posts," Okimi said to the security.

They relaxed and then started to disperse. Okimi went to Mei who looked exhausted and was slumped in a chair, sweat pouring off her, and a nosebleed. Dark circles rimmed her bloodshot eyes and she looked almost feverish.

"They pushed her to her limit trying to break in." Okimi thought.

"Let's get you some rest, you're no use to anyone like this," Okimi said softly, helping Mei to stand. As they walked she healed Mei's nosebleed.

She helped her walk to the staff room where there was a small sofa. She lowered Mei onto it, and she immediately curled into a ball and was ready to pass out.

"Are you okay...?" Mei murmured.

"Yes, now sleep. I can take care of everything from here on out." Okimi said to Mei who was already fast asleep.

"Though, I could do without the extreme light blindness..." she muttered to herself, having to squint to see anything even with her almost total light-blocking glasses on.

Ochako awkwardly stood in front of the hospital for a few moments before she turned and launched herself into the air. She flew up high and overlooked the area, most of the combat seemed to be dying down, in contrast to when she'd passed through the city on the way to Yo Shindo. Still, fighting would likely continue until morning. She could go and help wipe out the pockets of resistance, or...

She turned from the city and faced U.A.. She could see it in the distance, its central building towering above most buildings in its area. She blasted toward it, the city below her blurring as she rushed by. She arrived at the campus from the opposite end of the main gates and she slowed to take a moment to overlook the area.

In an area that had once held trees, and benches, and was designed as a place for students to relax, there was nothing but burnt tree husks and smoke still rising from the area. Smoke rose from a lot of the building now that she was paying attention. The main building had quite a few of its windows broken, and she saw one of the dorms had had one of its sides collapse.

Despite the destruction, things seemed to be under control. She couldn't see or hear any skirmishes happening so she flew straight to the main building itself. As she got closer she started to hear gunshots from within the building and until she got much closer to the entrance missed the black-clad figures in front of the main doors, and crouching behind cover.

She shot downwards and slammed into the ground in the middle of their defensive formation. Her impact caused the concrete beneath her to crack and split and the sentries to spin round. A few of them managed to either squeeze out a few rounds from their assault rifles or else pelt her with quirk attacks that her gravity armor simply repelled. Using her quirk, she picked up the shards of concrete and nearby rubble from the attacker's forced entry into the school and sent them into the sentries. The shards of concrete punched through their bodies like bullets and the larger pieces of rubble crushed skulls. In no time at all she had secured the entrance.

She walked into the entrance and saw several corpses littering the area. Most of them were mercenaries, but lying by themselves at the far end of the room lay the body of Snipe propped up against a blood-spattered wall. His twin guns still clutched tightly in his hands, his mask hanging half off his face and his hat at his feet. She went to his body and saw the multitude of bullet wounds, burns, and other injuries littering his body.

"He died holding the entrance..." she thought sadly. Another teacher from when she had been a student, was dead. Which meant only Eraser Head, Cementoss, and Ectoplasm remained. Assuming none of them had died as well.

She left the body and pushed deeper into the school where she could hear the sounds of fighting. As she passed one of the staircases that lead to the upper floors, she saw that it had collapsed and that black-clad mercenaries were at the opposite staircase. Likely trying to push up to where the remaining teachers and students were located.

She slammed the door open to the staircase with her quirk, causing several of the mercenaries on the lower floor to spin around just like the sentries outside had. She gave them no time to react, she shot at the nearest mercenary and killed him with a swift punch that caved his skull in. One by one and at a terrifying speed she wiped out the attacking force that numbered at least thirty strong and was spread out across the staircase and the second highest floor. When she threw the last remaining mercenary out of a window and plummeted to his death, silence finally fell across the school building.

A door at the far end of the hallway opened after a few seconds and the head of Cementoss poked out. Upon seeing her relief washed across his face and he opened the door up completely, revealing a huddled mass of students behind him. He came toward her and she met him halfway.

"Where's Nezu and the others?" she asked.

"Nezu and the remaining students locked themselves in on the third floor and the left wing of the school. Nezu collapsed the staircase on that side so the enemy couldn't reach him but I didn't have time to do the same to the other staircase so I took the students and barricaded us inside the staff room only a few moments ago. Before that, I fought them the best I could, but I'm trained for combat the same way the other teachers were." Cementoss said, and Ochako could see the various wounds peppering his body, but his tough cement-like flesh seemed to have prevented any serious harm.

"Follow me, I'll make a path to Nezu and the others and once everyone has met back up, we'll figure something out." She said, then turned and started making her way to the staircase.

Cementoss motioned for the students to follow and they made their way to the collapsed staircase. Several students threw up on the stairs after seeing the state of the bodies Ochako left the mercenaries in. Once at the collapse she started shifting rubble aside while Cementoss used his quirk to stabilize the mass as they worked their way upward. Eventually, a rough path leading to the third floor was created and the group made their way up to the third floor.

"I'll take point, Nezu has likely set up traps of some kind but I'll be fine," Ochako said, making her day down the hallway when a door at the far end opened and Nezu walked out.

"Ah, excellent!" Nezu said happily.

"Cementoss, take your students into the classroom behind me and then join me and Miss Uraraka. There is much to be done," he said.

As Cementoss herded his students into the classroom Nezu's smile vanished.

"What is happening outside?" he asked.

Ochako quickly recounted everything she had seen, with Cementoss joining them a couple of minutes in.

"Hmmm... Well at the very least the most pressing threats have been dealt with, but I do not doubt there are pockets of resistance still present on the school ground and within the city. While Zeus's assault appears to have failed, we cannot assume that this was the entirety of his plan, though I believe Yo Shindo was his trump card to ensure our destruction." Nezu said when the classroom door opened and three students came out.

"Is there a problem?" Cementoss asked.

"N- No. But we need to talk to principal Nezu." the only girl in the group said nervously.

"You are Miss Tsumugi if I am not mistaken, what is it?" Nezu asked.

"It's Sasakura sir, he was left alone fighting who we think was a high-ranking member of the enemy," she said, confidence coming to her as she wasn't being dismissed out of hand.

"Ryu can handle himself just fine, I have full confidence in his abilities," Nezu said calmly.

The girl shook her head, "With all due respect sir, I think he'll be killed, if... if he isn't already." the girl said and Ochako could see the fear in her.

Nezu didn't say anything for a moment but one of his ears twitched.

"I see. Thank you Miss Tsumugi." Nezu said, and the dismissal was clear in his voice.

The three students hesitated but eventually did go back into the classroom.

"Cementoss, barricade yourself and the students on this floor. When everything is resolved I will let you know." Nezu said.

"What will you two be doing?" Cementoss asked.

"We will be securing the school, I need to see things for myself so I can best judge our situation," Nezu said, before nimbly clambering up Ochako to stand on her left shoulder.

After Cementoss had sealed the staircase once more, Ochako and Nezu made their way outside.

"Miss Uraraka, I would appreciate it if we could make our first stop at the Gamma Gym," Nezu said softly.

Ochako nodded and flew toward the gym. With Nezu holding on to her, she couldn't go as fast as she would have liked, but they arrived at the gym in good time regardless. The first thing they noticed was the large crack that had appeared in one of the walls and stretched up to the ceiling where the windows had been broken. They made their way to the double doors leading into the building and Ochako pushed them open.

The first thing they noticed was that the large crack in the wall was letting in the moonlight and it illuminated a solitary figure. A faint orange glow came from him and there was a faint red mist hanging around him. They also saw a split in the earth stretching from where the figure stood, to the large crack in the wall with the bisected halves of a large person on either side of the crack.

The two entered the gym and a figure turned his head toward them.

Ochako had a sharp intake of breath.

"Ryu..." Nezu said shocked by his appearance. He jumped down from Ochako's shoulder and took a few steps toward his friend.

Sasakura had seemed to age several decades. His hair had grown longer, thinned out, and turned white. Where his heart was, was a faintly glowing orange spot, with his blood vessels around the heart also glowing orange but fading out to black the further from the heart the blood vessels went. The exposed skin of his arms, hands, and legs had turned ash gray and looked like they might turn dust at the slightest breeze.

"Nezu, and Miss Uraraka I assume?" Sasakura questioned, and at the very least it appeared his speech was still strong.

It was then that they noticed that his eyes had gone milky and pale as if he had lost his sight.

"Yes... it's us..." Nezu said.

"Good... come closer please, it is hard to hear anything now," Sasakura said.

They moved closer and Ochako saw that the blade Sasakura held in his hand had black cracks running along it.

"I'm sorry Nezu, but I'm afraid I don't have much time left. I held on this long on the off chance my students would tell you to come here. Looks like I guessed right, but it is good you are here as well Miss Uraraka." Sasakura said.

"I wish we had more time, but this will have to suffice instead. I want you both to promise me that you will look after Izuku. He will need people by his side in the times to come." He said, and they saw the orange light coming from his start to fade.

"I promise," Ochako said.

Nezu didn't say anything at first, but he took a deep breath and said, "You have my word, I will do what I can for Izuku and your students. And... thank you, Ryu." Nezu said.

"Thank you both, and Nezu, it was my honor." He said with a smile, and then the orange light faded completely.

The ashen color stretched over his entire body, the red mist faded, and his hair disintegrated. Then his body started to fall apart, but rather than flesh, it was only clumps of ash, and a moment later there was only a sword with black lines on it, lying in a pile of ash.
