I don't own Batman.
Chapter 2
KA-BOOM!
Explosion burst, the doors opened, and smoked slowly at first came, then faster. "Kyaa!" A woman screamed, and people started to scatter in fear.
Shadowy figures walk calmly to appear before the frightened people.
Scarecrow and his hired goons came to the museum. Stepping into the light, a man dressed as a rag, rope noose around his neck, large tatter hat, and face like a mask of stitches and clothes sewed together.
He announced in his scarecrow voice, "Calm yourselves, everyone. For there is nothing to fear, I'm a doctor."
One that turns Batman's weapon against him and revels in terror and dread: the Scarecrow.
As a young child, Jonathan Crane was subjected to sick and twisted experiments on fear by his father.
When he heard that the new treasures from Egypt had come to Gotham, he could use those riches, but what interested him more if the mummified princess. The story is set inside the corpse of the princess, and he believes he has the power of fear.
Apophis was the ancient Egyptian deity who embodied chaos (ı͗zft in Egyptian) and was thus the opponent of light and Ma'at (order/truth). According to legends, it is actually a black opal stone with mystical powers of fear and chaos. In earlier days, men used to be vessels before they decided that it would be women to have it. Women were often trained as priestesses to show no fear or any emotions in order to contain their power. They would use their own bloody mess to operate, place their stone inside their chest, and manage to live, if not by six years.
However, he wonders why the Egyptians didn't remove that stone and give it to a new alive person to possess it.
Well, it won't matter. Dead is dead, but its history will be given as the present.
'If I,' Jonathan thought was interrupted by his other self. 'We, you mean?' Scarecrow hissed angrily at Jonathan.
Internally rolling his eyes at Scarecrow's tone. 'Of course, if we obtain this power. Can you imagine how we can grasp it, contain it and control its power to show the power of fear?'
His goons are wearing gas masks and pulling guns out at the people.
"Put your hands up in hand!" Security guards and a few police came with guns aiming at the Gotham rogue.
Scarecrow raised his hands in the air and pressed a digenite stick. "I'll do that. If you scream for me."
Click!
POOF! The greenish color gas is smoking up the walls and ceilings.
Both city forces and bystanders coughed from that gas. Little lambs they are. They are already dreading his presence.
Full of terror is showing in their expressions.
Many of them chocked they saw their greatest fear.
"KYAA!"
Sounds of the citizens are seeing what they feared the most in this world.
"Knick Knack, Paddy Whack, Give the Dog a Bone!" Scarecrow singing his nursing rhymes in a very creepy way.
"Go! Get everything from the riches."
"Right, boss!" Ted, his second command, received and got others ready to get the Egyptian gold.
Scarecrow calmly walked past all the bystanders crawling, panting, screaming and bodies slowly stopped moving on the floors.
One police officer pulled up his Walkie Talkie Handheld Speaker Mic on his shoulders. 'I need backup quick!'
As he looked in his hiding place, he saw the fear gas streaming through the door. He knew that he must call backup or else people will die.
"All units we need backup. It's happening in Gotham Museum. People are starting to panic and scream."
He felt something weird as he coughs from that gas.
"Oh! Oh, GOD! It's the Scarecrow. I repeat, it's the Scarecrow!"
He felt tiny claws on his arms and one rat on his chest.
SCREECH! The rat screech at him and attacks him, then dozens of them are all over his body.
"No. Please. God no! Get them off of me. AGH!"
That brave officer sees his fear of rats crawling all over him.
Scarecrow watches as his men quickly get to work tying ropes around the Egyptian princess's ancient coffin.
CHUNK!
The corner of the coffin hit hard on the ground.
"Careful!" Scarecrow hissed in anger. "You must do no damage. Unless you like me to, you're your fear?"
CRASH!
High above the window were shards of broken glass scattered with a large cut spread like wings.
"YOU…!"
It's the dark knight himself.
Batman!
Scarecrow's worst enemy. He always foiled his brilliant plans for revenge against those who mocked him and belittled him into the monster Gotham sees now.
Batman stood and glared at the criminals.
"It's over, Scarecrow."
"That's what you think! Get him!"
*Click! Rat-a-Tat!
The sounds of their guns set it off as they aimed at Batman with all the bullets. Before in slow motions, Batman pulls out his smoke pallets and throws them on the floor.
Scarecrow quickly held back to check his prized mummy.
Before he could open it, a shadowy figure behind grabbed his shoulder, and sucker punched him in the jaw.
PUNCH!
Scarecrow grunted, but he got his hand on his scythe.
SWOOSH!
The clean blade cuts in the air, but Batman dodges it.
POW!
Batman gave him the upper jaw and then dislocated his shoulder, which caused the god of fear agonizing pain.
Scarecrow was about to use his fear gas, but he didn't get the chance to stab it with his claw needles since Batman was wearing a gas mask.
He gave him a knockout punch.
"GCP! Put your hands up in the air!" Commissioner James Gordon called out through the microphone.
The whole police, including Gordon, burst through the front door then the rest came from the other exit to enter the building.
The commotion has gone up as paramedics rush in to send the people into hospitals quickly. Some suffered seizures from the fear gas; others were mentally traumatized from the horrific event.
"Commissioner." Batman greeted him as he handcuffed the Scarecrow.
"Batman, another night had gone by, but I hoped it would be nice if we could call it quits." Gordon looked at Crane. "Though, some don't like the impunity to commit a crime."
Bullock came in and said, "Yo, boss! We got a problem!"
Gordon and Batman followed detective Bullock to the sarcophagus, which shocked both though Batman hid it well.
The sarcophagus is opened.
The forensics investigators are examining the coffin.
It was wide open, and hieroglyphs showed the sides but what concerned them was claw marks that proved true.
The princess was buried alive.
'Though,' Batman looked closer to the evidence. 'Could Scarecrow make the distractions then hire someone to take it?'
No, it wasn't Scarecrow's M.O., but criminals take chances to change their tactics.
"Bullock! Find the missing mummy. Investigate all the suspects of our missing mummy." Gordon orders, "Check if there are any black markets."
"With pleasure!" Bullock left for the station.
Batman looked down to see if there was any sign of a person. Though reaching for his tweezers to pull out, a cloth wrap caught by the door creaked open slightly.
'No doubt the mummy has been moved.'
He narrows his eyes at the cloth.
Commissioner Gordon mumbled, "What on earth would Scarecrow want a mummy?"
He has never seen anything off in all his life, but they are all sick in their heads, so chances are small.
"Batman, any chance you might…?" He turned around, and Batman had disappeared from him. Again.
Jim groaned, "I hate it when he does that."
News scatters all of Gotham.
"WHERE'S MY MUMMY?!"
The story hit that news line for Gotham city.
It took them two months to try and find the mummy, but sadly no one came forward, and no evidence popped out.
The question is, where is it now?
The billboard showing moved upwards and saw the perfume called the Oasis. With a brown, tan skin model with sunny golden straight hair, eyes deep as the ocean, kissing the perfume bottle in her hand. Lies sideways and looks at you with an expressionless yet sexy look.
She looks like an Egyptian queen in this picture.
Gotham had a saying one turns up missing days yet later; it was right in front of you this entire time.
Reviews are welcome.
Next Chapter, flashback two months ago, with Scarecrow, Batman, and the mummy?!
