CHAPTER 2

Nerv shoved the shotgun in his mysteriously sized back pocket and arrived at Sammy's mobile home near the stream. He knocked on the door, and a very anxious looking Dez opened the door. "H..Hello?" She peered out the door only to see Nerv.

"Hi Dez," Nerv responded, "How's the weather for ya?"

"Oh, Nerv, thank god its just you," she opened the door and gestured that he come inside, "We've been in a really bad spot today."

"Dang! That sucks." Nerv replied. He looked around the room to see that Sammy hadn't been around. "Where's uh, where's your lizard of a husband at?" He inquired, looking back up at Dez.

"That's the thing!" Dez responded in distress, "We had this huge argument earlier about how he's been handling things and he just, after berating us he just stormed out to the forest. I'm not sure when, or if he's coming back..."

Maggie looked to the two, "My father has a very strong yet very flawed set of beliefs." Her eyes displayed a very worried sense of expression. "I do not agree with him, but I miss him."

Dez sighed and sat beside Maggie, "I know it's hard to see it since you're his kid and all but, I'm starting to realize your dad is a really bad guy."

"My father? A bad man?" Maggie inquired in disbelief. Dez didn't say anything, but only patted Maggie's head as she held her close.

Watching the two, Nerv felt bad, not for what he planned on doing, but for the fact that these two had to come to the realization of the horrible beliefs their father had held, and how he depended on seeking validation from a CEO far more than his own family.

Nerv got an idea. If he left by sundown, nobody could see him commit the act. "Dang you guys, I'm really sorry about this, you mind if I hang around for a while?"

Dez sniffled, "I..We'd appreciate it, thanks Nerv."

Nerv sat down beside the two and watched Seinfeld. The program had alleviated his feelings about how Maggie and Dez felt and focused them more on the quality of said program.

"I can do bettah comedy than that! Watch me!" Nerv got up and presented the two his most famous one liner, "So I walk into a bar, and a guy says, 'Oi vey, whataya spinnin, gefilte fish?'"

Though Maggie and Dez were still in a rather low mood, such a display did get a chuckle out of Dez.

The three spent the rest of the day conversing and watching TV. Eventually, Nerv looked outside and noticed it getting late. "Well I gotta go," He told them, "I'll look around for Sammy and give you the heads up on his whereabouts. Siyanara!"

Nerv shut the door behind him, and his expression changed to a far more intentful and menacing grin and his eyelids lowered sinisterly. He made his way onward to the forest, and pulled out his shotgun where the trees had started.
