Nick entered Root Core in a very sour mood, effectively distracting Daggeron, who had been reading a book when his friend gloomily walked in. "Hey, Nick. How was your day?" Daggeron asked. Nick slammed his bag on the table, which caused Daggeron to jump in shock.

"My day really, really sucked," Nick groaned loudly.

Daggeron closed his book. "Really? What happened?"

Nick crossed his arms before he replied, "I found out I'm failing math; I stepped in a pile of dog crap; Fire Heart ate my homework; and Xander is mad at me because I was ten minutes late for our lunch date."

"Hey, you know what I found to be helpful when I'm having a bad day?"

'Great. Useless advice from a grown-up,' Nick thought to himself. "What is it, Daggeron?" he asked, braving the unknown.

With a grin, Daggeron held out his arms. "A hug always helps on bad day, so give me a hug, Nick."

Nick's eyes went wide with shock. "What?" he asked, backing away from Daggeron as quickly as he could dare move.

"Come on. Give me a hug," Daggeron repeated.

Nick threw both arms out in a stopping motion. "Oh, hell no! You're not hugging me!" he said, running to the other side of the table, though Daggeron still went after him.

"Hug me."

"No!" Nicks shouted, going around the other side.

Daggeron sighed and said, "Fine." At this, Nick breathed a sigh of relief. He walked over to get his school bag, when suddenly Daggeron grabbed him and pulled him into a bear hug. Nick was so shocked by this he didn't even fight back. After what seemed like a long minute, Daggeron released him.

"Feel better?" he asked with a grin.

Nick thought about it for a moment. "Yes. I do feel better." Daggeron gave Nick a pat on the shoulder. "Daggeron?"

"Yes?"

"Can I have another one?" Nick asked with a grin.

"Why, yes, you can," Daggeron said, and engulfed Nick in another bear hug. After a brief moment, they released each other.

"Wow, I feel a lot better," Nick said as he grabbed his school bag. "Thanks, Daggeron!" he shouted as he ran upstairs to his room.

Daggeron grinned for a few more seconds, then sighed. "I need a life." With a quick glance at the clock, he saw it was time for his favorite show, so he quickly jumped on the couch and turned on the TV.

When the blank screen turned in a moving picture, the beginning credits of Charmed came on. "Who needs a life when you have Charmed?" Daggeron said to himself as he sat back to enjoy his show.
