Chapter 3: Temper

I sigh a bit and rub my eyes before getting up and walking down the stairs for dinner. I sit at the table and Aunt Petunia smiles at me before setting a plate with some pizza on it in front of me, then she sets two wrapped boxes on the table next to the plate and says, "Happy birthday!"

I smile and say, "Thank you."

I open the gifts, finding an art set from Dudley and a stuffed black bear from Aunt Petunia, which makes me give her a confused look. She gives me a sad look and says, "You never got your own when you were younger. I thought you would like one."

I smile and say, "I love him, thank you." I then hug the bear and set him to the side before we begin to eat. Halfway through the meal I clear my throat and say, "I had a vision this morning...well, actually seven, but they were all of the same future. An Asgardian known as Loki is going to invade earth...it's the only chance I can get revenge against the people I want it from. Dumbledore, Vernon, Ronald...the list goes on, but the point is, I want to help Loki, I'm going to summon him to offer my aide after dinner."

"We'll follow your lead on this one, Iris." Aunt Petunia says and Dudley nods in agreement.

I smile and we finish eating before I head upstairs and grab one of my new elven knives. I sit on the ground and reopen a cut on my forearm before setting the knife down. I then use my finger to draw a circle of runes with my blood. As soon as I get done I call to the empty room, "Great Trickster, hear my plea, come and let me speak." a soft breeze blows through the room, even though I closed the window earlier, and I take a breath, knowing that I am being heard. "Lord Loki, god of Mischief and Trickery, I have information that will insure your victory in the coming battle. All I ask in exchange is the chance to take personal revenge on all who have wronged me."

"You have my attention, child." I hear from the corner of the room. I turn to face the voice and find the same guy from my visions, only wearing a nice looking suit, not a set of armor. He looks at me for a second before saying, "You will have your revenge so long as your information is of use to me."

"Lord Loki. My name is Iris Potter, I am a powerful seer. This morning when I woke I saw seven different possible outcomes for your plans. I saw only a single way that grants your success." I tell him.

"Interesting. What would I need to do to achieve this success?" he asks.

"You will first need to recruit Hella, the goddess of the Dead and eldest child of Odin, whom he hid from you and Thor. She wants Asgard for herself. Help her with that and she will help you with taking Midguard. The two of you can then kill Thanos, which will allow you to rule the Chitari due to them being creatures bred to follow the strongest. They will view the two of you as the strongest once he is dead so you will gain a free army." I tell him.

He considers for a moment before asking, "How would I contact this...Hella?"

"I can call her here." I tell him.

"Do so, seer." he demands so I send a pulse of magic though myself. A second later Hella forms in the corner and I look over at her.

"Hello, I'm pledging to help Lord Loki take over Midguard. He's willing to offer you help taking Asgard in exchange for your help." I say.

"Why do you wish to help him?" she asks curiously.

"Revenge on those who wronged me. Personal revenge. The kind I get to do with my own two hands...and knives...and slightly sharpened spoons, as well as particularly dull forks and various other weapons...some involving fire. Ensuring his success will get me what I want." I tell her before standing, "I'll be on the roof while you talk."

I climb out the window and sit at the edge of the roof. After several minutes someone else sits next to me. I look over and find Hella, looking at me. She smiles and says, "We worked out an agreement, he gets Midguard and I take Asgard. Which means when this war ends you will be moving with me to a city made of gold."

I hum a bit and lean against her before saying, "That's nice."

We look at the stars together for a while before she breaks the silence by saying, "You should get back inside. I don't want you getting cold."

"Ok." I say before standing and offering her a hand up. She takes it and we both climb into my room. I then sit on my bed and watch as Hella turns to Loki.

"Remember, so long as she is mostly unharmed by the end of this I will help you. My rune is her birthmark and you know what that means." Hella says and Loki nods before disappearing. I yawn a bit as Hella looks over at me. "You should sleep."

I nod and lay down, closing my eyes and calling over to her, "Goodnight, Lady Hella."

"Just Hella, dear." she says and I fall asleep.

When I wake up in the morning I quickly write down every possible plan and backup plans for Loki and Hella to use to invade Asgard and Midguard, then open the gift from my friends, and drink the potions from Morgana. Over the next month I continue filling the two notebooks I have with the plans that will work, training Dudley and Aunt Petunia to use all the weapons I've learned how too in my life and working on the farm.

Now it's September first and I actually look healthy as I arrive on Platform Nine and Three quarters. I see James, Lily, and Hadrian and walk over, hugging Hadrian as Lily and James try to say something to me before ignoring the two adults, saying my goodbyes to Aunt Petunia and Dudley, and boarding the train. I go and sit in the Slytherin Compartment, in my usual booth.

Once I'm sat down I look around, before pulling out the notebooks of plans and a pen. Within the first twenty minutes of the ride I manage to get both notebooks full of plans before someone sits across from me. I close the notebook for Hella and slowly look up, finding an annoyed Lily sitting across from me. I tilt my head a bit and say, "Yes, Professor Potter? Do you need something?"

"You ignored us on the platform." she says with a slight huff. "Your father and I both tried to get your attention. We need to have a family talk. Come on, you can come back once we're done."

I scowl at her before slowly raising to my feet. I stuff my notebooks into my bag and follow Lily to the Potter's compartment, dropping several items and spells along the way before sitting as far from James and Lily as I can. Harry comes to my side and we look at James expectantly.

James clears his throat a bit before saying, "Alright...so, over the summer we decided to strengthen our bond to the Weasley family; we're gonna do that by making a marriage contract between one of our children and one of theirs."

Me and Hadrian look at each other, then back at James and Lily before simultaneously saying, "I didn't know you were having a new baby."

James blinks before saying, "No, I was talking about you, Iris."

I chuckle a bit, then laugh before saying, "You forget, James. I have a soulmate. You can't make a marriage contract for me."

"Don't get attitude with me young lady! I am your father! You're grounded!" he says and I laugh again, "What are you laughing at?"

"James Potter, please accept this idiot of a year award!" I say as I chuckle again.

"Excuse you!" he says angrily and I roll my eyes.

"James, you can't ground me." I tell him. "For more than one reason."

"Name one!" he yells and I flinch a bit before taking a breath.

"You don't have custody of me." I tell him.

"Yes I do! I'm your father!" he yells while jumping to his feet.

"No, you don't." I tell him in a forced calm tone, mentally telling myself to keep a calm face.

"You're marrying Ronald Weasley, that's final!" he snaps.

"Nope." I say, "It's against the ancient laws written by Merlin. I cannot be married off, I have a soulmate, James. I'm not marrying anyone except who I am destined too."

"But that soulmate is the goddess of death! Wouldn't you prefer a man?" James asks, "Ronald is growing to be quite a nice one."

"Nope." I say, "I have reasons for not wanting to marry Ronald. Also, if you try to force me into the wedding you want me to do, you will lose your magic for violating the ancient laws."

"What reasons?" James demands as I begin casually edging my way out of the compartment, wanting to get away from the angry man child in here.

"One, I have absolutely no romantic interest in the male population, two, Ronald has been tormenting me for years now, and three, I would never marry someone of your choosing." I tell him

"Look, I didn't want to do this, but as head of house Potter I am giving you no choice. You are marrying Ronald." James says and I laugh, which makes him scowl, "Why are you laughing?"

"Because." I say before calming myself down, "James, you are not the head of house Potter."

"What are you talking about?" he demands.

"Your father left that title to Harry." I say as I back up a bit more, "He claimed his titles when we were twelve. Besides, even if you were Lord Potter, you wouldn't be able to call Head of House over me. I've met and made physical contact with my soulmate, as soon as she grabbed my hand when we first met, Hella became my Head of House. I'm now considered betrothed to my soulmate, you can't overrule a previous betrothal."

"How do you even know these laws?" he demands.

"How don't you? You're the one who is supposed to enforce them!" I tell him. "I learned all the laws I could as soon as I entered the Wizarding World!" I then turn away from him and say, "I'm done here. Hadrian, I'll see you later."

I walk out and hear James follow me. He grabs my arm and turns me to face him so I shove him back, sending him to the ground before turning and continuing to walk.

"Get back here young lady." James snaps and I turn to him before flipping him off. I then send a pulse of magic through my body and my soulmate mark begins to glow through my shirt, which lets me know that Hella is coming. "You will do what I say, Iris. I am your father."

"So what?" I ask flippantly.

"So you will show me respect." he orders. "Your mother and I deserve your respect."

"You deserve nothing from me, James." I say as I stop walking.

"Iris, we love you, but you need to stop being so disrespectful to us." Lily says and I tense up.

"You what?" I ask in an icy tone, anger coiling in my chest as I slowly turn to face them. Lily gives me a confused look so I ask again, "What did you just say to me, Lily?"

"I said that we love you, Iris." she says and I feel myself start shaking, "Why?"

"I don't appreciate people lying to me, Lily." I tell her before turning to walk away again. I get stopped by a hand on my shoulder.

"Iris, why do you think your mother is a liar?" James asks tensely, turning me to face him.

"Because she just lied to me." I respond easily.

"No I didn't." Lily says, "We do love you, Iris. We never stopped, its just that–"

"Let me guess, Hadrian's fame was more important?" I sneer.

"Don't sneer at your mother Iris!" James says.

"Don't presume I'll take your orders, James." I snarl and Lily steps forward before speaking,

"Iris, do you think that we love Harry more then you because we raised him?" she asks, "Because we love you both equally. Just because we raised Harry doesn't mean that we don't love–"

"Stop saying that!" I snap and she falls silent, "You don't love me, Lily! You don't care about me! I accepted that fact years ago! Stop lying and saying that you love me because I know it's not true!"

"Iris, don't yell at your mother." James demands, "She isn't lying to you. We love–"

"If you love me than you would have never left me!" I yell and he falls silent as well. "Up until this year I have been raised as a slave because of you! If you love me so much than why was I not enough for you? Where were you when I was being beat to a bloody pulp?"

"Petunia would never–" Lily starts to say.

"You've met Vernon haven't you?" I snarl. "Up until this summer Aunt Petunia couldn't get me away from him! His way of a punishment involved using knives and whips on me, Lily. Tell me, where were you when he did this to my face, huh?"

I gesture at my scar, having stopped wearing make up to cover it when I realized that Ivy was right, people seem to think that I'm tough now. Lily goes pale and James says, "He...hurt you?"

"That's putting it mildly." I say coldly and he takes a few steps towards me, making me back away quickly and get ready for an attack.

"Iris, I'm so sorry, we didn't know." James says while reaching for me. I back out of his grip, getting ready to defend myself, and the shadows around us flicker a bit before Hella walks out of a nearby one, looking like a fourteen year old, and punches him in the face, glaring icily down at the shocked wizard. I smile and move to stand by her, grabbing her wrist and glaring at James.
