Chapter one:

It's the day of the Whammys invention fair.

Everyone is either setting up at this point or is set up at their places while the adults chosen alongside Roger this year get ready to judge as the time to start draws closer and closer.

Mello, Matt and Near have tables close to each other and of course Near is kind of standing there in front of his twirling his hair with the other two kind of on either side of him talking to each other.

Mello isn't too fond of being so close to Near as they have to share a table as their projects don't take up a whole tables space while Matt is on the table beside theirs but Mello tries to ignore it for the most part.

One of the Whammys female orphans walks in holding a glass that she got from the kitchen as they gave it to her as a glass they don't care about. She made sure to seal it tight with Saran Wrap and an elastic band. She suddenly trips accidently over another orphans legs, as the other orphan was on his knees doing some wiring under the table for his project, and as she lets out a cry of surprise the glass is thrown into the air.

The orphans feet she tripped on turns seemingly about to ask if she's ok when he notices the cup flying.

People turn at the noise and the girl looks scared as the glass flies in the air only to end up crashing right in the middle between Mello, Near and Matt creating a bunch of dark green smoke around them.

The smoke clears before it reaches anyone else but now it leaves the three seemingly unconscious.

This makes people gasp and look to the girl as they mummer to each other.

Roger goes over to her. "What was that you made?" He questions as no one wants to approach in case it's dangerous.

"Well you see..." The girl begins almost as if embarrassed then the three stir and even open their eyes.

Roger sighs in relief when he notices this. "Oh good it looks like you just fainted for a few seconds."

The girl gets to her feet looking uncertain as she watches the three in uncertain anticipation.

"Huh?" Near looks around himself as he starts to sit up while the other two seem to be trying to wake up a little more. "Where are we?"

Roger turns to the girl. "Did you give them amnesia?"

Near gets to his feet. "Whatever it'll be easy to get out anyways." He pauses then suddenly a few moments later he quickly looks behind himself in surprise. "What!? My wings!"

The girl laughs nervously. "Yeah funny story." She says feeling more nervous than she ever has before. "Well you see..." She begins rubbing the back of her head then lowers her hand to tap the tips of her pointer fingers together as she continues. "That very slightly dark green liquid that was inside the cup actually created a reaction. Not the desired effect but something kind of relating to it."

Everyone even Mello, Near and Matt turn to her wondering what she has to say about what happened as her words catch their interest.

She smiles nervously almost swallowing heavily from nervousness. "Well you see it seems to have switched their bodies or at least spirits with the ones from another dimension." She explains not really looking at anyone as she feels scared they might look down at her or get angry at her.

There are gasps and a few mummers.

Rogers eyes slightly widen. "Is there a way to change them back?"

"It was a prototype." The girl responds glancing down. "I just finished it late last night."

This makes Roger even more worried.

Near looks away to look around himself again as if examining his surroundings.

Mello and Matt seem to be kind of doing the same.

Roger turns to the three. "What dimension did you come from?"

"Our home dimension obviously." Near responds in a matter of fact voice as he does the finishing touches on looking around himself taking in the surroundings. "I do not have any belief that there is a name to different dimensions."

"I guess so." Roger says. "Ok well I guess it'll be finding out more about your dimension." He then clears his throat as if trying to change to a more professional like interrogation self. "Ok let's begin. Is your home world peaceful?"

"Depends on what you mean by peaceful." Near says as his eyes flicker over to Roger.

"Well what is it to you?" Roger asks.

"Peace is when we remain hidden in our home as we lie in wait." Near almost seems to want to sigh as he closes his eyes for a few moments before opening his eyes half way then after a blink they return to open normally.

"Where do you live?" Roger asks.

This time Near turns and stares at Roger almost as if analyzing him or trying to intimidate him.

Rogers eyes flicker to Mello and Matt. "You two are free to join in on the question answering."

Mello and Matt seem to just not care as they keep their eyes open for anyone who even so much as shifts as if anyone could be a possible enemy.

"Ok. I guess we'll skip that question." Roger says not fully sure what to do. "How about how well do you eat?" He continues as he turns back to Near.

Near sighs slightly lowering his head as well as bring up a hand to put some of his fingertips on his forehead slightly covering his eyes as he shakes his head. "I am done with these silly questions." He almost groans then lowers his hand and looks to Mello and Matt. "Let's get out of this place."

They turn to leave as Mello and Matt move to follow without any complaint or objection.

"Oh no you don't." One of the male orphans who has gotten into a few fights with Mello approaches Near then suddenly is stopped as Mello and Matt swiftly move protectively in front of Near while glaring warnings at the male orphan.
