Edd sat on the workbench in the garage quietly watching Terrence inspect the motorcycle. It was almost physically painful for him to watch the big brute paw all over Kevin's bike. He could feel the bile in the back of his throat, and his stomach twisted into knots. Terrence also stayed quiet as he inspected Edd's work.

After what seemed like forever Terrence let out a whistle. "Well, I'm impressed. The amount of work you've put into her is fantastic. If I didn't know any better I'd say this bike had never been totaled."

Edd crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes. "You aren't here to admire my handiwork. I just need to know the best place I can get the parts I need without having to rob a bank."

"Is that an option?" Terrence chuckled.

Double D huffed in exasperation. "Okay, you're done. I'll go to the auto store on my own." He said as he got up and opened the garage door.

Terrence took a small step towards Edd. "Don't be like that, dude. It was a joke.

Edd spun around suddenly and found himself a lot closer to Terrence than he wanted to be, but it didn't affect his anger. Edd squared his shoulders and glared at the man in front of him. "I don't want or need your jokes, I just need the answer to my question."

Terrence kept his eyes focused on Double D's face. "Okay. You're a serious guy. Got it. No more jokes."

Edd felt his body relax just a little bit. He hadn't expected Terrence to just cave so quickly, and it took him off guard. "Okay then."

"Do you have a car?" Terrence asked as if Edd hadn't just bit his head off.

"Yeah, my keys are in the kitchen. I'll be right back. Don't touch anything."

Terrence put his hands up as if to show his innocence. Edd rolled his eyes and turned to go inside. While Terrence waited for Edd he looked around the garage. He noticed that aside from the mess of old parts and tools scattered around the motorcycle that it was in fact a very organized place. Even the mess around the bike had its own organization system. Terrence was impressed at the level of thought that went into what he was seeing. To someone who didn't know bikes or tools it probably just looked like chaos.

Edd cleared his throat as he walked back into the garage surprising Terrence who promptly turned to face him.

"I was just admiring your setup here, I swear I didn't touch anything." Terrence said, speaking just a bit too quickly.

Edd didn't say anything S he led Terrence out of the garage and to his car. He hoped that if he stayed silent that Terrence wouldn't keep trying to talk to him. He hated that he even had to deal with him, but he knew that it was his fault he was in this situation. Edd mentally cursed at himself for being so unkind to his friends. He knew that when he finally faced them he would have a lot of apologizing to do. Terrence could tell that Edd wasn't up for conversation so he slipped into the passenger seat quietly.

"Where are we going?" Edd asked quietly.

Terrence looked out the back driver's side window as Edd backed out of the driveway. "Turn left when we get to the end of the street, we're going to have to go into town."

Edd nodded his head silently. He wondered if he should put on the radio to fill some of the awkward silence, but knowing that his radio was preset to one of Kevin's favorite stations he thought it probably wasn't a good idea. The last thing Edd wanted was to have to pull over and cry in front of Eddy's big brother. Terrence was already insufferable enough, he didn't want the guy to have even more of a reason to torture him.

As they reached the stop sign at the end of the street Edd noticed a car slowing to turn into the cul de sac. A lump started to form in his throat as he realized whose car it was.

"Oh shit." he whispered as he noticed Eddy in the passenger seat of Nazz's car.

Edd felt like he'd just had one of those dreams where he showed up to school in his underwear. His entire body locked up as he saw the look on his friends faces as they passed by.. Nazz and Ed looked confused, but that didn't hurt as much as the look of betrayal he saw on Eddy's face. Double D wasn't a mind reader but he could guess exactly what was going through his friend's head.

"We have to turn around." Edd said, clearly panicked.

"I get why you think that we have to, but I also know that if we don't go now then you're just going to have to come with me another day. So it's up to you, but I feel like you'd rather get this over with now." Terrence said in a calm and steady voice.

Edd stayed quiet as he soaked in what Terrence said. He knew that Terrence was right, and he wanted to spend as little time with him as he could. There was also the possibility that if Edd turned around now Eddy would just yell at him. Edd thought that if he gave his friend a little time to calm down that by the time they got done picking up the parts he could explain what happened.

"Fine. let's get this over with." Edd said turning onto the main road.
