After leaving the library Nazz and Marie headed towards Nazz's house. It would be a lot easier for them to make a plan when Marie's sisters weren't around. The two of them knew that they would need help with their plan, and that's where Ed and Double D came in. Nazz knew that Terrence would be suspicious if she suddenly started being friendly towards him. He would think she was up to something, and he would be right.

So instead they would ask Double D to find a way to keep Terrence occupied since Terrence seemed to have some sort of weird thing for the younger guy. Of course, that would make Eddy suspicious and more than a little pissed off. So they planned to get Ed to take Eddy out for a while. The girls didn't want to tell Ed anything important, the less he knew the better, they just needed him to keep Eddy away from the cul-de-sac for as long as possible. Once the girls had the details somewhat planned out Marie called Double D.

"I'm surprised you picked up, you've been avoiding my calls for a month and a half now." She said playfully.

Double D sighed. "My apologies, Marie. I haven't been a good friend lately, but I feel like I'm on the way to getting back to myself. "

"Well, that's great. I'm glad to hear it. I was actually just calling to see if you could come over to Nazz's to help us with a class project. You think you're up for it?"

Nazz listened intently to the call and Marie nodded her head excitedly when Double D agreed to come over.

The two girls rushed out of Nazz's room and waited by the door. Double D didn't even have a chance to knock before the door flew open and two pairs of hands were grabbing him and pulling him into Nazz's house.

"What is going on?" He nearly shouted as he pulled away from them.

Marie got as close to Double D as she could without making him uncomfortable. "We have information." She said as her eyes darted from left to right.

Nazz pushed the blue-haired girl gently away from Double D. "Ignore her dramatics, but she is right we found out something that we think you should know. But before we tell you what it is, you should know that we've got a plan. Sort of."

Double D looked from one girl to the other. He could tell that even though Marie was acting a bit dramatic that they were both very serious. "Okay, what have you discovered?"

The two girls each grabbed one of Double D's hands and guided him to Nazz's bedroom. Once there Nazz walked him over to her desk and gestured for him to sit in the office chair. Marie had walked over to grab the copy of the news article from her bag. Double D wasn't sure what was happening but he trusted both Marie and Nazz. When Marie handed him the papers he looked at them and raised an eyebrow.

"What is this?" He asked with confusion in his eyes.

Marie tapped the papers. "Just read it. Trust us."

The three of them were quiet as Double D looked over the news article. Nazz had her thumb in her mouth as she nervously chewed on the nail and Marie stood staring at Edd with a hand on her hip. It didn't take Edd long to read through the papers and when he was done he looked up at the two girls even more confused.

"There's another piece of paper, look at it," Marie instructed.

The last two pieces of paper seemed to stick together for a moment before Edd was able to separate them. When the last piece of paper was revealed his eyes grew wide.

"This can't be real. Is this a joke?" Edd asked skeptically.

Nazz shook her head. "No jokes, Edd."

"It has to be fictitious. I mean that's a terrible alias. It just sounds lazy, who would come up with something that bad?" Double D said with a tense laugh.

Marie and Nazz shared a look between the two of them before Marie moved to the computer on Nazz's desk. Nazz turned the swivel chair towards the screen so Edd could see what Marie was doing. He watched as she pulled up the same search that she had before, but this time she clicked on a different article. It was the most recent article about the incidents at the amusement park. Marie knew that if she showed him more than one source of information that he would have to believe them, he was a man of science and facts after all.

This time it really sunk in what he was seeing. "So you're telling me Eddy's brother was an accomplice to murder?"

"Well, we don't actually know that. Neither do the cops. At best Terrence just happened to be there. At worst he's the one who shot the guy. But I don't know him like you and Nazz do so I can't say if he's the murdering type or not." Marie explained.

Nazz gently placed a hand on Double D's shoulder. "Remember when we said we had a plan?"

Double D nodded silently as he tried to process everything.

"Well, please don't be mad, but you're kind of going to be the bait." Nazz's voice got higher like she was asking a question but Double D knew it wasn't one.

"What are you talking about? Bait? Forget that! We have to tell Eddy, right now!" Edd jumped up from his seat and started walking towards the door.

His back was turned to both of the girls so he didn't see Marie getting ready to lunge at him. One moment he was standing upright the next there was a lanky teen girl clinging to his frame like a boa constrictor. The two fell to the ground with a loud thud and Nazz rushed to try and help them up.

"What is wrong with you, Marie?" Double D's voice was even louder and angrier than before as he reached for Nazz's outstretched hand.

"You can't tell Eddy. We all hate Terrence, Eddy included, but the guy is kind of a blind spot for Eddy! It's a conflict of interest! We're basically handing this guy over to the cops, I don't think Eddy would be up to that no matter how angry he might be at his brother!" Marie had started shouting too without even realizing it.

Double D was standing next to Nazz looking at Marie who was still on the floor.

"She's right you know, as much as Eddy hates his brother he could never turn him in." Nazz agreed.

Double D knew they were right, Eddy was loyal. No matter how much someone hurt him he never really stopped caring about people. Eddy could never betray his brother.

Edd put a hand out towards Marie to help her up. "All right, what do you need me to do exactly?"

The two girls simultaneously began explaining their plan to the brunette in the beanie. Edd believed that they had a good plan, but it needed some tweaking on a few of the finer details.

"I can't go to the house. Especially if Eddy isn't there, after everything that's happened he'd probably find it strange that I didn't check beforehand if Eddy is there. Terrence would know something is up." Edd explained.

Nazz and Marie looked at each other. Marie opened her mouth to speak but Nazz shook her head. Nazz didn't want Marie to explain their suspicions about Terrence because she lacked tact.

"Marie and I have a feeling that he wants you to come to him. So we don't think he will be suspicious if it's you. Anyone else, yeah, but not you."

Double D's eyes narrowed. "What exactly are you saying, Nazz?"

Nazz sighed as she looked at her hands and picked at her cuticles. "I've heard the way he talks to you, 'D, it's like he's trying to lure you into a trap or something. I don't know how much of it is actual interest in you, or how much of it is just him trying to hurt Eddy. All I know is that if you go over there it will probably thrill him too much to be suspicious."

Edd folded his arms over his chest. "I haven't interacted with him in front of you so how do you know that?"

Nazz kept her eyes on her fingers. "I heard him in your garage the other night. I was walking home and I heard something. I thought you needed help but when I got to the door I could hear you two talking. I didn't mean to listen in, but I was worried. I'm sorry, Edd."

Double D's features softened when Nazz said his name. She never used his name, just like everyone else she always used a nickname.

"I'm not mad. I understand you were worried, but if something like that should happen again please be a bit more forthcoming with such information."

Nazz nodded and looked up from her hands. "Can do, Double D."

Marie hadn't realized how tense she had gotten until she felt her shoulders relax. "Alright, since that's out of the way, can we please get back to the plan?"

"Of course," Edd said at the same time Nazz nodded her head.

By the end of the evening, they had their plan all sorted out. Nazz asked both Double D and Marie if they wanted to stay for dinner. While Marie had agreed Edd had politely declined.

"I've got to get home so I can get things ready for tomorrow." He'd explained.

The three of them said their goodbyes and Edd walked home in the light of the street lamps. A shiver passed through him as he thought back to what Nazz had said.

"It's like he's trying to lure you into a trap or something."

He knew exactly what she meant. Every interaction they'd had, at the time, seemed like nothing more than his friend's annoying older brother just being obnoxious. As Edd looked at them closer he could see that that clearly wasn't the case.

Edd had caught on that Terrence was trying to manipulate him, but why?

When Edd reached his house he opened his door to find an envelope on the floor. He assumed that whoever left it had slipped it in through the mail slot. Edd picked it up and placed it on the small table where he left the bills for his parents.

He decided that he would read it later when his mind wasn't so preoccupied.

AN: I know it's been a bit since I last posted. I had a lot going on at work and I just needed a small break. I probably won't be updating every day, especially since we're almost at the end. But don't fret, I do have more things planned after this that I'm looking forward to. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to comment and let me know what you think.
