Jack arrived back at Heartland leaving the package in the truck, while he unloaded the supply order at the barn. Finishing the chores, he headed to the house. He opened the package and pulled out a painting. He looked at it with big eyes and then saw the card. Setting the painting on the table, he opened the card to read the note from Evelyn, indicating that this was painted by Lisa's favorite artist and she wanted to send it as a "housewarming" gift since they are now officially living together. As he was finishing up reading the card while glancing at the painting, Peter walked in "Hi Jack" he stopped next to the table "what is that?" Jack set the card on the cabinet "a gift from Lisa's aunt, apparently painted by her favorite artist." Peter chuckled "Lisa likes this sort of art? I'm not sure if you can even call it that." Jack shook his head "Well I can say that she doesn't have anything that looks like this at Fairfield." Georgie, Amy, and Lyndy walked in and also saw the painting "Grandpa, where did this come from?" Amy asked. "A gift for Lisa and I from Evelyn" Amy set Lyndy down in the playpen "It's interesting". Georgie and Amy went to set the table. Jack hung up the painting on the wall by the stairs, it wasn't his first choice but it was from Lisa's aunt so he figured it should be hung up. He knew Lisa had good taste so now Heartland had a bit of her in it, despite how interesting or ugly in his opinion it was. They all sat down at the table to eat. Amy looked over at the painting and then to Jack "You know maybe it would look better in the hallway or in your bedroom, somewhere less visible." "It hurts my eyeballs," added Georgie. Peter comes back from trying to convince Katie to sit down and then looks at the painting "So that's the spot". Jack spoke up "It happens to be painted by my wife's favorite artist and is a gift from her aunt. It is not up for discussion." They got the hint the topic was closed as they all finished supper.

Lisa had a better day than she anticipated so as she ordered some dinner, she called Jack, she was missing him. Amy answered "Hi Lisa" She chatted with Amy for a minute before Amy handed the phone to Jack "It's Lisa" He took the phone from her and headed to their bedroom to have a little bit of privacy. "Hi Lis" as he was closing the door. "Hi there, how was your day?" She smiled "Pretty good, should be done with everything tomorrow. I miss you" He was looking at the picture on the dresser of them "I miss you too, Lis." They talked for a few more minutes before hanging up. Jack walked back into the living room, Amy was on the couch with Lyndy "Did you tell Lisa about the painting" He put the phone on the charger "No, no I want it to be a surprise." Amy shook her head "I'm sure she'll be surprised all right." He glanced at the painting again and shook his head, he knew it wasn't easy on Lisa transitioning to living at Heartland full time especially after the rough year she's had. This will hopefully make her feel more at home or at least show her that he's making an effort. Meanwhile back in Florida, Lisa looked at the screensaver on her phone of her and Jack, bringing a smile to her face as she checked her calendar to see what she had for tomorrow as she settled in for the night.

The next couple of days were busy for both Jack and Lisa, he was helping with Katie and Lyndy while Lou and Ty were out of town. Lisa was busy meeting with potential clients and working on some deals to help get Fairfield off the rocky ground it seemed to be on currently. She was ready to get home to Jack, they had barely spoken in the last couple days. She sent him a text to check-in and that she couldn't wait to get home. He responded fairly promptly, he would rather talk on the phone but also knows how busy she is, so for her he usually responded. The last deal was wrapped up and she caught an earlier flight than she originally planned. She was happy to be headed home to Heartland, with the hopes of her and Jack getting some time together soon.

Jack was up early to get his chores done, he wanted to get finished early since he knew that Lisa was coming home this evening. Peter had a business call, Katie and Brick went over to the dude ranch and for a ride, Amy came by and asked him to watch Lyndy while he worked with Mackenzie and Greyson at the dude ranch. It was early afternoon, Lyndy was down for a nap, Jack headed to their room to straighten up before Lisa came home. Meanwhile Lisa walked in the door, she was guessing everyone was out and Lyndy may be down by how quiet the house was. She abruptly stopped with her mouth open when she saw the painting on the wall, Jack came out of their room "Lis, I didn't hear you come in. How was your trip" as he kissed her "good, good,so that's new" she said looking at him leaving her arm wrapped around him "Oh you noticed, that, that is a gift from your Aunt Evelyn" as he reached for the card. "Oh" as she took the card from him reading it "she mentioned it's by your favorite artist, so I figured I'd go ahead and put it up. Now the place has a bit of your personality instead of just mine" gesturing around. She read the card "I don't know what to say, it's just too much. It's very generous of her" She sighed and looked at him as he reached for her bag "So let's get you unpacked, I want to hear all about your trip" He took her bags and headed towards their bedroom. "Thank you" as she forced a smile. She stepped closer "plastic ball, good lord" before turning to follow Jack into their room. Once he set her bags down, he wrapped his arms around her "Welcome home" before kissing her. She smiled and kissed him again "I missed you this week, cowboy. Where is everyone?" He looked down at her "Lyndy is down for a nap, Brick and Katie went to the dude ranch, Amy is with Mackenzie, Georgie went on a road trip with Wyatt, and Peter had a call. Now tell me about your trip?" They went to the living room and sat in front of the fire as Lisa filled him on the latest with Fairfield and her trip to Florida.

Lisa got up to check on Lyndy who was still fast asleep while Jack went out to the barn to check on the horses. Quick conversation with Peter, as he headed to the Dude ranch to check on the kids. Jack headed back to the house where Jen had arrived. She poured two glasses of wine, looking at the painting "wow, a real conversation piece" Lisa looked her way, shaking her head "it certainly is" as Jen handed her a glass "thank you". Jen walked back to the painting "there used to be an elephant at the Calgary zoo who painted with her trunk, this reminds me of it although she was much more talented." Lisa just shook her head. Jack came in "Hey Lis, how's Lyndy doing?" as he stopped by the couch "She's great, fast asleep" as she held up the monitor. Peter came in "Hey, there's no sign of the kids at the dude ranch" Jack reached for his phone "I'll give Mitch a call…Mitch are those kids still over there..where are you? He's been in Calgary all day?" Jen looked worried "Why wouldn't they have just come home?" Lisa looked at the group "They're probably just having fun" Peter turned and said "Is it okay if I saddle up a horse and go look?" Jack started to follow "I'll go with you." Jack and Peter headed out to look for Katie and Brick. Jen called Wyatt and Georgie to let them know they were missing. Lisa looked at Jen. "Jack and Peter will find them, they're here, don't worry" Jen sighed "I hope so". It wasn't too long before Lyndy was up. Lisa got her and then started dinner so they could eat when the rest of the family got back from Katie's adventures. Not long after Lisa finished making supper and put it in the oven to keep it warm, she saw them coming back to the barn "Jen, they're back." Jen headed out to meet them. Jack came in first, she turned as he hung his hat up. "Hey, you found her?" He washed up. "Yeah, she got off to move a tree and her horse spooked. She's a little shaken up but she'll make out alright. Peter found her." He wrapped his arms around her "Good, dinner is ready when everyone comes in." The rest of the family came in, they all sat down together.

The next day, Jack was reading when Lisa came in with two cups of coffee, she looked at that painting. She set the cups down "Okay, That thing is coming down. Right Now" as she walked towards the painting. Jack looked up from his book "What?" She was by the painting "It doesn't go with anything in here and I cannot stand it." Jack stood up "But your aunt said it was your favorite artist." Lisa shook her head "I don't care what she said, she's wrong and clearly confused." Lisa took it off the wall and walked back to the couch. "Then why didn't you say anything? She looked at him "Because I know how much you're trying to make me feel at home here." Jack looked at her lovingly "Well, it's your home as much as it is mine" Lisa looked at the painting to him "yeah I know, and I don't need a painting to prove it, and certainly not one covered in garbage." Jack said "Yeah, I'd rather look at bacon grease splattered on the back of a stove." causing her to smirk "You and me both. Alright, you know what, how about you and I go to a gallery and pick out something we both love." as she picked it up "I'd like that very much and we will take that to the thrift store on the way by." She looked at him thoughtfully "No, no, this has to go back in storage" He looked at her confused "Why" "Because when Aunt Evelyn comes back for a visit, its going back on the wall" she indicated using her head causing him to chuckle. She took the painting into their room before coming back out to the living room. "How much longer before we have to go to the Dude Ranch for the BBQ?" Jack looked at the clock "a couple hours why?" She held her hand out to him "because I want to spend it with you. It's rare that we are alone in the house" pulling him up, directing him to the couch. He sat down as she settled next to him. He kissed her forehead "sounds good to me, it is rare so let's enjoy it" as he wrapped his arm around her even tighter.
