Evelyn's p.o.v.
I take a deep breath before knocking three times on Dumbledore's door. A few seconds pass before I hear a "Come in."
I open the door and walk into his office. He looks up from the papers in front of him and greets me with a big smile, "Evie, greetings. Come, sit."
"I'm sorry to bother you at this hour but I need to talk to you.", I say while sitting down.
"No need for apology. Is everything alright?"
"I'm quitting.", I say, not wanting to drag this conversation.
He frowns, "Why?"
"I shot Seve- I mean, professor Snape."
He nods, "I'm aware of that."
I knit my eyebrows together, "You know?"
"Yes."
"Well, since I made a terrible mistake, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not fitted for this job and I wish to be replaced."
"Do you?", he asks.
"Well ...yes."
"Why?"
"Because I shot a professor?", I ask confusedly.
"Did you speak to him?"
"I did. Before I came here."
"And? Does he want you to quit?"
"I ...don't know. I don't think so."
"Then I don't see the problem.", he tells me and goes back to his papers.
I blink a few times, not understanding his casual reaction.
"Headmaster, I shot a professor. That could easily be a student."
He looks at me, "But it wasn't."
"I don't think it matters, I made a mistake and hurt another person. Only by that I understand that I'm not to be trusted."
"Is that your conclusion?"
"Yes."
"And what if I decline your request?"
"Why would you do that? I shot a person. I could have killed him."
"But you didn't. I'm not dismissing your deed but I don't think you deserve a replacement."
I sigh, "I just ...don't trust myself after this."
"When I decided to bring you here, I was fully aware of everything that could go wrong. We are not used to guns but we are also not used to robots and lasers. Are you endangering our peace and comfort? Yes, you are. Is there another solution? No, there isn't. Anyone could have done that. Bad decisions are in human nature but we don't run from them, we learn from them. You have a great responsibility and with that come mistakes that can turn lives around. With that being said, you will stay here and continue your mission."
"What if I don't want to?", I ask.
"I'm sorry dear but that's your problem. We don't let muggles in our world easily so replacing you would cause unwanted commotion and attention from people I don't want to be involved in this."
I don't say anything. If I call Fury and tell him what happened, we will be pissed but probably say the same thing Albus just stated.
"Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you where before. Don't run from it, embrace it and learn from it. Be teachable."
I sigh, " I guess I don't have any other option."
He smiles, "Sometimes taking options from a person can make them work on themselves in becoming a better version of themselves. I don't want to replace you and I'm positive that Severus shares my opinion."
I nod, "Sure."
"You can go now. I have some dreadful paperwork to finish."
"Have a nice evening.", I say standing up.
"And please go to see Severus. He's probably out of his mind by now."
Severus's p.o.v.
"I'm sorry but I couldn't find her.", Poppy informs me.
"Damn.", I say, trowing my book away.
"I can talk to her during breakfast tomorrow.", she tells me.
"If she talked to Albus, there's a big chance she won't be here by morning."
Poppy tilts her head and smiles to me so I raise my eyebrow at her reaction.
"What?"
"Nothing. It's just nice to see that you're emotionally invested in someone. It's been a long time since ...well ... Lily."
"I'm not emotionally invested in anyone."
"Sure. Whatever makes you sleep at night.", she tells me walking away.
I grab my book again and start to read but can't concentrate. Honestly, the best thing for both of us would be if she left but there's selfishness creeping out of me and that makes me what her near. I have to make a mental note to congratulate Albus on fucking up my life once again after all of this is over and she's gone for good.
"I'm staying.", I hear her voice and turn towards it.
She leaning on the glass door, looking at me.
"Did you talk to him?"
She nods, "Yes. I can't leave."
"You told him what happened?"
She frowns, "He already knew. You didn't tell him?"
I sigh, "Apparently he knows everything. How the hell does he do that?"
She walks towards me and sits down on a chair next to my bed, "I'm sorry."
"Be careful next time.", I say, grabbing my book again.
"Why did you kiss me?", she asks and I look at her, "What?"
"You heard the question. Why did you kiss me?"
I clear my throat, "I was drunk."
She raises her eyebrow, "That's not an excuse."
"I don't want to be rude, but I would really like some peace."
"You don't want me to leave, don't seem to have a problem with the fact that I shoot you and you kissed me. Why?", she continues.
"It was a mistake so just forget about it.", I tell her.
She nods, "Okay. Then I will."
I don't like the tone of her voice so I frown, "What's that suppose to mean."
She smiles, "That I will forget about it professor Snape. I wish you a good night sleep."
She leaves and I start to have a feeling that she's up to something ...and I'm not going to like it.
Harry's p.o.v.
"Two weeks without Snape? It's like an early Christmas gift.", I say to Ron and Hermione.
"I can't help but wonder what happened to him.", Hermione tells us.
"Who cares? This is going to be the best two weeks of our lives.", Ron tells her.
"Maybe two weeks. We still don't know.", she corrects him.
We continue to walk towards our dorm but see professor Stark enter the hospital wing.
"Is she visiting Snape?", Ron asks.
"Let's find out.", Hermione speaks and grabs us by he arms.
"Where are we going?", I ask her.
"To find out what's happening.", she tells me.
"What in the world is happening to you?", Ron asks her.
We hurry up the stairs and enter the hospital wing carefully. We see professor Stark leaning on the glass door, a few feet away from us.
"Bathroom. Let's go.", Hermione whispers and we rush in.
Going into male department, we see that the window is a little bit open so we stand under it, listening to them talk.
"You told him what happened?", we hear Snape ask.
"He already knew. You didn't tell him?", Stark asks.
"What happened?", Ron whispers and Hermione hits him, "Be quiet."
We lost some conversation but a "Be careful next time." comes clear to us.
"Why did you kiss me?", she asks and we gasp.
"Bloody hell.", Ron speaks.
"What?", he asks.
"You heard the question. Why did you kiss me?", she asks again.
"I was drunk.", he responds.
I frown, "He drinks?"
"That's not an excuse.", she tells him.
"Damn right.", Ron speaks and I smile at his comment.
"I don't want to be rude, but I would really like some peace.", he tells her.
"You don't want me to leave, don't seem to have a problem with the fact that I shoot you and you kissed me. Why?", she continues.
"She shoot him?", I ask in shock.
"Let's go.", Hermione tells us.
"What? They're not finished.", Ron objects.
"They will be soon and we dn't want to get in trouble."
We sneak out of the hospital wing and rush towards our dorm.
"They kissed and she shoot him. Interesting.", Hermione tells us.
"Is she insane? Kissing Snape? I'm sick.", Ron tells us.
"I think that's sweet.", Hermione tells him.
"The only sweet think is the fact that she shoot him. I don't even care why but I know that I'm grateful for that.", Ron tells her.
"That's mean.", Hermione gives him a dirty look.
"He's mean.", he mumbles.
"Well one things for sure ...there's definitely something going on between them.", I say and both of them agree.
