Runaway 4

"Okay, break's over. Let's see if we can finally finish up here." At the words from 'Racer', they retake their seats before he looks to Penny. Getting her attention.

"What is it, 'Racer'? Is something wrong?" Next thing she knows, she hears his voice in her head.

*Penny, don't react verbally or visibly, but I know that you're a gynoid. One that's capable of generating an aura and have a soul. I won't blab. Your other, however, is fully human.* Deciding to try for herself, Penny makes her query.

*What happens to my other? From what you're saying, something unpleasant happens.* At that, he tells her. It's everything in her to not react before his mind recedes from hers.

Unaware of what'd just happened, Yang kinks her head to the right.

"Say, 'Racer', when you switched off our semblances, did you do the same with our auras, by any chance?"

"Yep, as your others don't have auras either."

"Ah. Just checking." Nodding, 'Racer' resumes.

At the Hospital, Officers are gathered together, Hospital personnel watching nervously. Jaune and Pyrrha arrive as Flynt greets them himself. Only for Jaune to open up.

"Got enough people here? They're going to pick you up." Deciding it can't be helped, Jaune then asks, "Where is he?"

"He's in the john. We're ready to go in."

"Alright, clear those civilians out of here. Let's go."

Striding to one of the many shotgun-holding Officers, passing an Officer that's manning the tracking module, he quietly commandeers their shotgun before looking back at Pyrrha as the Officer draws his own sidearm and she draws hers.

"You stay here."

As the Officers troop forward, Pyrrha looks back at the gathering, now uneasy at how Watts can still be there.

Once they reach the men's restroom, Jaune shoves the door open and levels the shotgun at waist-level. Only to see no sign of Watts. Walking sideways, he then kicks the three toilet stall doors open one by one. Reaching the open space by the last toilet, he sighs in irritation at the lack of Watts as another Officer chimes in.

"Where the hell did he go?" As Jaune lowers the shotgun, looks away and down, disappointed, the Officer calls out, "Penny!"

Her tracking equipment in hand, Penny enters the restroom and carefully sweeps for the tracking bug, Pyrrha right behind. It beeping rapidly as she weeps, only for the speed of the beeps to intensify as she reaches the second stall. Jaune coming up behind her. Touching her tracking wand to the toilet paper, she nudges the roll on the left forward until the bug is visible. Embedded into the roll itself. Jaune then turns to one of the Officers before sarcastically speaking. Penny looking outward, slight mirth on her face.

"Congratulations, guys. You just staked out a roll of toilet paper." Looking back to Penny, he goes on. "Penny, go through the usual routines. Maybe we can find something." Penny quietly nods and goes to work as Jaune hands the Officer the shotgun and says, "We'd better go." At that, he exits, Pyrrha and the other Officers, except for one, in tow. Penny looks back at the lone Officer before speaking.

"Would you please watch the door? In case someone comes in?"

"Sure." At the reply, she goes to work and the Officer watches the doorway.

Plucking the bug off the roll, she eyes it before slightly exiting and completing the exit from the stall. Going past the last stall to the open space, she sees janitorial supplies before going back to the stall. Only to miss seeing a robotic spider emerge from underneath the janitor's cart.

"Oh no! Penny! Get out of there!" Ruby's yell gets a sad smile from Penny, which Ruby notices as the scene plays out. "Penny?"

As Penny reenters the stall, the spider makes its way to a nearby wall and starts climbing up it. As she sweeps the bug wit her tracking wand, the spider makes it onto the ceiling and makes its way to above the stall she's working in. She looks outward before the spider drops in on her. Shrieking as it does, she gets the Officer's attention as the spider extends its needle into her. Her life then ends as the spider self-destructs, the Officer catching some of it.

"Oh no… Penny." Pietro's tone is dismayed as Penny recalls what 'Racer' had told her. Along with given her.

'Acid! This is not sensational!'

*I'm going to give you an empathetic interface for what's next. It won't be pleasant.*

*I understand, 'Racer'. Thank you for warning me ahead of time.*

*You're quite welcome.*

Back in the bullpen, no one's aware of what'd happened. Nor are they aware that the one they're hunting for is now among them. Dressed in Police blues, Watts casually walks to a computer terminal before seating himself.

"Now that is truly arrogantly brazen of you, Arthur. But, seeing as your other isn't a Police Officer, you shouldn't be able to access that system."

"There's always a way, General. There's always a way." Watts' smugly arrogant reply gets Ironwood to grit his teeth.

He then brings out an eye with a grey sclera while typing on the keyboard.

"See? Much like that." Watts' revulsive reply gets most to cringe in disgust before Ironwood looks back to Winter.

"Add associated life signs to the parameters for retinal security, Winter. We really can ill-afford such a significant breach."

"Yes, General." Kali and Ghira, however, can't help but feel sympathy for the Officer that'd most likely been killed by the savage.

Placing the eye to the retinal scanner, Watts sees the monitor come up with the information.

Name; Jaune Arc

Age; 31

Born; 22 December, 1995

School; University of Anima

Marital Status; Single

Special training; Riot control, Sharpshooter-Level 2, Robotics

Family; Nephew-age 8 years Name; Adrian

At the left, two pictures of Adrian come up, getting Watts to smile evilly.

The Arc and Cotta clans in their entirety, along with most of the audience, glare pointedly at Watts as 'Racer' pauses the movie before Nora chimes in.

"Rule about this being a neutral spot or not, if you go after Adrian for real, I'll break your legs!" The sincerity in her words get Watts to gulp before looking to 'Racer'. The reply he gets isn't what he was hoping for.

"I'll allow it." Nora cackles madly before 'Racer' adds on. "But only if he does it for real here, Miss Valkyrie."

"I understand, 'Racer'. So, Wacko Watts, unless you do something stupid, you won't be getting your legs broken." Gritting his teeth, Watts nods.

"Very well. I'll be… intelligent enough to not go after the child." At the words, the movie resumes.

Jaune and Pyrrha arrive in the bullpen, still not knowing about the enemy having been in their midst just minutes earlier, Pyrrha in the lead, before Jaune speaks up while removing his jacket.

"Where's the Chief?" He then sees Ironwood. "Hey, Chief, I don't know where you got those idiots from for the stakeout…"

"Okay, Arc."

"But it was really amateur night."

"Okay, Arc, we blew it." At Ironwood's self-recrimination, Roman nears Pyrrha at the same time as Jaune goes on.

"I'll say you blew it. We should have had him." Edging her away until they're out of earshot, Roman goes on.

"You didn't find him, huh?"

"Nope." As Pyrrha removes her jacket, Roman goes on.

"He's good." As he speaks, Pyrrha looks at a nearby screen and her eyes go wide before slamming her jacket down and looking out toward him.

"Jaune!" Seeing that she has his attention, she adds, "You better look at this." At the urgency in her tone, Jaune slams his jacket down onto a desk before looking at the monitor. Upon seeing his file on the screen, he can only say one thing.

"Oh Oum." Reaching for the phone on the desk, he picks up the receiver and punches in his number. Only to hear a busy signal. "It's busy." Slamming the receiver down, he races out, Pyrrha in tow.

Uneasily, Watts looks aside and sees a ferally grinning Nora looking right at him before she mouths at him.

'Break your legs!'

As he opens his door, Pyrrha right behind, Jaune calls out.

"Adrian!" Looking in Adrian's room and not seeing him, he exits before speaking again. "Weiss?"

"Here… Here…" Weiss, heavily damaged, enters his sight before he goes to her right side, Pyrrha her left.

"Weiss… what happened?" Pyrrha looks her over before speaking.

"Her voice module's broken."

"See if you can patch it." As they both work, he asks, "Wasn't she watching the door?" As Weiss tries to speak, Pyrrha chimes back in.

"Don't try to speak, Weiss." As they both labor, she adds, "She's losing a lot of hydraulic fluid."

"She'll be alright if she keeps power to her memory circuits." Their labors start to come to fruition as Weiss' voice slightly comes back.

"Adrian. Adri…"

"Hit the reset." Pyrrha reaches down at hits the reset switch. "Weiss?"

"Adrian was on the phone when an extremely unpleasant man came in the back door."

At the descriptor of Watts, Ironwood and a saddened Pietro lightly snicker.

"What about Adrian?"

"The man forced Adrian to leave with him."

"How long ago?"

"My clock is disconnected. I do not know the amount of time."

"Did he say anything? Where he was going? Anything?" When Weiss' voice comes back, it's again distorted.

"He left no… no mess…"

"Weiss…" As Pyrrha resumes work, Jaune leans in as well. "Let me see that." As he gets to work, Pyrrha speaks again.

"I'm really sorry." Weiss, in turn, speaks again.

"I am really sorry. But dinner will not be painted in time."

"Man, Weiss." Yang's demeanor is sad as she looks to the heiress. "You must be really messed up to be talking like that."

"I'll say… how would I go about painting dinner?"

"Sergeant Arc is not here to take your call…"

"I can't get it patched."

"Please leave a message at the tone." Her voice then comes back, sounding normal.

"May I show you to the door? May I show you to the door?"

"I think that's it." Leaning upward, Jaune says, "Weiss, do an internal diagnostic check."

"Beginning diagnostic check now." As her readouts scroll information, the phone rings. Having a suspicion he knows who's calling, Jaune lunges up to the phone and answers it.

"What'd you do with my nephew?"

"Listen, sucker."

"Yeah, I'm listening."

"If you wanna see the boy alive, bring the other templates. Just you alone. No tricks this time."

"Where?" Listening, Jaune says, "I'll be there." Hanging up the phone, he starts to exit. Pyrrha noticing and making to follow him.

"Where we going?" Jaune, however, stops her.

"Alone. He said alone." Pyrrha can't help but be stunned.

"I'm your partner."

"He said alone. He'll know if you come." Pyrrha then makes her way past him.

"I'll wait out in the car." Grabbing her arm, he gets in front of her.

"He'll know. I'm not taking any chances with Adrian." Making to exit himself, a worried Pyrrha stops him.

"Where're you gonna meet him?"

"You promise not to follow me?"

"I promise."

"And you won't call anybody?"

"I won't call anybody." Jaune looks her intently in the eyes before exiting. Pyrrha can only feel hurt by his willingness to face the danger on his own. Weiss' voice then comes back, getting her attention before she goes back to the fallen 12.

"Diagnostic check completed. There is a malfunction."

"Weiss?"

"Please check battery connections."

"Sure." Probing the innards, she hears Weiss speaking again.

"Thank you." Thinking she found what she was looking for, Pyrrha looks up to Weiss' optic sensors before making her query.

"Is this it?"

"Yes." Pyrrha presses it and hears Jaune and Watts' conversation.

Weiss' blue eyes start shimmering with tears, knowing full well what her other's doing.

'She wants to give Jaune and Adrian a fighting chance. She also knows she's going… to cease function.'

"What'd you do with my nephew?"

"Listen, sucker."

"Yeah, I'm listening."

"If you wanna see the boy alive, bring the other templates. Just you alone. No tricks this time."

"Where?" After Jaune's query, Weiss' innards start sparking, causing Pyrrha to flinch away as Jaune's query repeats before Watts gives his reply.

"Where?"

"Go down Main Street to... right to Sentises construction site." As Weiss' body shuts down, Pyrrha can't help but be saddened by Weiss' last act of devotion to her family.

Weiss' tears flow freely as she feels Ruby, Yang and Blake hug her closely. Returning the hug as best she can, she looks over at JNPR and sees their sadness.

"Jaune, I'm so sorry I was terrible to you."

"I'm sorry I wasn't nearby to cheer you up when you were younger, Weiss. Maybe then… you wouldn't have been so jaded." She smiles faintly at him before speaking again.

"I think I'd have liked that." Jacques' eyes go wide at the thought itself before he thinks.

'Over my dead body!'

Outside the construction site, Jaune puts the car in 'park' before exiting. Taking note of the 'Robot Work Area' sign, he pushing the plywood door open before walking in. Looking up at the high-rise under construction, he feels his nerves kick into high gear before steeling them. As he walks further in, he sees eight robotic spiders moving along on the ground before hearing Watts' voice on the speakers of the monitor.

"Don't worry, Arc, the spiders won't hurt you!" Jaune, unsure he can trust the words of the lunatic, gingerly steps around them before he hears Adrian's voice.

"Dad? Are you coming to get me?" When he reaches the monitor, he sees Watts with a baffled expression before he shakes it off. Deciding it's not that important.

"Better have the templates this time, Arc."

"I do."

"Alright, drop your gun." Bringing out his backup piece, Jaune puts it beside the monitor before Watts speaks again. "Now get on the elevator!" Rebracing himself, Jaune steps onto the elevator and hits the 'human/Faunus' and 'up' buttons.

As the elevator rises, he feels his nerves rattling, but powers through it by bracing against the wire-mesh wall and breathing deeply. To distract himself somewhat, he looks around at the view of the city. The long torturous journey comes to a merciful end as he reaches the floor that Watts and Adrian are waiting on.

"Come on, Arc!" Facing them, Jaune sees welding robots at work, Adrian and Watts holding Adrian by the back of his neck, launcher in Watt's right hand. Pointed upward.

"Let him go. Now!" Looking aside at Adrian, and deciding he's done with him, gives his reply.

"Of course." Releasing Adrian, he watches as the boy walks toward his Father/Uncle. As Adrian nears Jaune, the latter speaks while keeping eye contact with Watts.

"Get on the elevator, Adrian."

"I want to stay with you, Dad."

"Get on the elevator, son." Watts watches intently, sneer on his face as Adrian does so. Jaune adding on. "Push the button to go down. Stay away from the edge." As the elevator descends, Watts still has his sneer.

"How can he call you 'Dad' and yet be your nephew?"

"None of your fucking business, Watts." Nodding his head in agreement, Watts speaks again. Demand in his voice.

"The templates, Arc!"

"After he's down. After he's safe." Watts' face takes on a faux-chagrined look at that before he speaks. Sheerly arrogant nonchalance within his voice.

"There's a little problem about that, Sergeant. I can't have any witnesses. It's too messy. The spiders have been programmed to kill the first person that comes out of the elevator." Horrified, Jaune dashes aside and looks down at the descending car as Watts goes on. "Oh, they'll let you in. But they won't let you out. And there's nothing you can do about it, Sergeant!" Still looking down, he calls down to Adrian.

"Adrian! Stop the elevator! Push the button!"

"What's the matter?!"

"Stop the elevator! Push the button!" Adrian, not quite understanding but hearing the distress in Jaune's voice, presses the 'stop' button. Only for it to not work before trying the others.

"They don't work! None of them work!" At that, Jaune presses on the buttons for the console on that floor, only for the same to happen before Watts speaks again.

"You can't stop it, Arc. I 'fixed' the elevator. Look on the monitor. You'll get a better view." On the monitor, Jaune sees Adrian looking up at him as Jaune tries pressing the buttons again.

"Dad?!" Jaune looks back down before yelling out.

"Adrian!" As the elevator gets nearer to the ground, he yells again. "Adrian!" As Adrian tries pushing the buttons again, Watts speaks again before the spiders come back into view. Their needles extended, liquid coming out in spurts.

"Ever see them kill somebody, Arc? It's really impressive. They're loaded with acid." Jaune calls out again.

'That's what was injected into my and Penny's other?! What a horrible way to go!' Cardin's eyes are wide before he yells out, "Give that jerk an acid injection of his own, Jauney-boy!"

"Adrian!" The young boy looks down and sees the mechanical arachnids nearing the elevator before he looks back up.

"Dad!" Back up, Jaune tries repeatedly to stop the elevator, Adrian trying the same as the elevator nears the ground when Pyrrha bursts into the scene. Adrian sees her, his face lighting up in joy as she nears the elevator bank.

"Pyrrha!" Back up, Watts' eyes go wide at the flagrant disregard of his instructions to Jaune while Jaune's glad Pyrrha's there.

Nora screams out in joy.

"Mama Pyrrha to the rescue!" Pyrrha's face goes red in blush before she yells out.

"Nora!"

Jumping up onto the elevator before it touches the ground, she hefts Adrian up and away from the encroaching spiders.

"Come on, kid." Pushing him lightly upward, she makes certain to avoid the spiders before climbing up herself. As she and Adrian go up the framework, an incensed Watts aims at Jaune before pulling the trigger.

"You bastard!"

Jaune ducks down in time for the mini-missile to hit an upright girder while, down below, Pyrrha presses the 'up' button to give Jaune an avenue of escape. As the elevator ascends again, Watts pulls the trigger again. Ducking down again, Jaune takes shelter behind a welding robot. For some reason, the company had hung a nickname on it and put a nameplate on it.

'Whitley'.

In the audience, Whitley can't help but blink.

"I never really… saw myself as a welder. It looks interesting." Adam grins widely before nodding.

"It is. I did some welding before if you're interested in my tutoring you." Jacques' eyes go wide at that.

"Whitley! Schnees don't weld! That's for blue-collar laborers!" Much to his shock, Whitley shrugs.

"What harm could it do to learn, Father? Besides, if anything, welding could be like a hobby of sorts so I won't be bored out of my skull in between lessons." Looking aside at Adam, he adds, "I eagerly await the first tutorial, Mr. Taurus." Adam nods and grins still while Blake and Weiss share a chuckle.

The missile hits 'Whitley', yet it doesn't stop the welding robot from working. Another missile hits, and yet 'Whitley' still goes strong. Another missile hits and Jaune looks back before seeing the elevator reach the floor he's on. But Watts fires another missile. As 'Whitley's welder is the highest source of heat, it buys Jaune time to get to a steam pipe and open it. As heated steam gushes out, the mini-missile is drawn away from 'Whitley'. As the steam billows, Jaune makes for the elevator and Watts calmly puts another missile-magazine into position.

"Let's see… a magazine like that holds… I'd say around… fifteen missiles unless he reloaded beforehand." Ruby's love of weapons gets grins from those that know her and a calculating gleam in Ironwood's eyes.

Diving into the elevator, Jaune slams the 'down' button. Only it goes further up. Jaune slams the 'down' button again and again, a red light flashing below the control panel. As the elevator goes up, it increases speed until it jars to a stop at the top of the elevator's framework. Uneasily, Jaune edges his way to the edge and looks down. His vertigo gets so bad, he recedes away from the edge before trying the 'down' button again. He then notices the red flashing light is by 'System failure'.

Opening the panel, he notes the screen has a wire diagram of the elevator, a flashing red light at the bottom of the wire diagram and the advisory for correction.

'Press reset button to restart elevator'.

Jaune lightly presses on it before realizing he has to go outside the confines of the elevator. As he positions himself, he hears mechanized chittering and looks before seeing three of the spiders enter his sight. Lightly opening the floor hatch before letting it close, he watches the spiders get closer to him before taking his jacket off.

Looking away slightly, he barely is able to avoid getting his face hugged by one of them as it latches onto the wall right by his head. Ducking away from it, he notes the other two spiders are moving to his feet before one jumps onto the wall and spurts acid onto his face while the one on the other wall leaps over to his other side and spurts as well.

Everyone, even Watts, is unnerved before they notice Jaune's skin isn't melting, just looking burnt, before 'Racer' pauses the movie and chimes in.

"Okay, this acid is the kind that damages extensively when it's inside a person. But it does result in burns on the outside. It dries quickly, though." That gives everyone some form of relief as the movie resumes.

Dropping his jacket onto the spider still on the floor, he sees it getting closer still before kicking it, and his jacket, out of the elevator. As it flies out, it self-destructs, ruining the jacket in a shower of sparks. Knowing he has no time or room for error, he starts edging himself out. Keeping his finger muscles taut, he watches the spiders on the wall. But the spiders leap over to the wall he climbs out onto, following him intently.

Clambering along the wire-mesh, he sees them following along still. When one lands right at his right hand, he palm-slaps it, getting it to fall out of the elevator before self-destructing as well. As he starts to climb down, the last spider on the elevator extends its needle, puncturing his hand. Before it can spurt some acid in, however, he drops away from it. Barely able to catch one of the elevator's safety bars in time, Jaune grunts as he starts making his way along the underside of the elevator.

As he does so, his grip's enough to knock one of the power cables out of place. Not deterred, he makes his way to the elevator's switch box. Swinging the panel open, he sees a red light blinking, along with the reset button. Before he can even move to press it though, he hears the third spider chittering. Looking aside, he sees it upside down before grabbing the severed cable and pressing it to the spider. At the jolt of electricity, the spider falls away and self-destructs.

With that menace disposed of, Jaune reaches for the reset button and presses it, getting it to go back down. Edging himself to the hatch, he swings it open before hefting himself up in there. Collapsing to the elevator's floor, exhausted at both the action and psychological torment, he catches his breath before the elevator stops. Wearily, Jaune moves his head forward and sees Watts before letting fall back down.

Watts gazes down upon him, evil smile on his face before he steps into the elevator. Kicking the panel hatch closed in the process, which gets a jolt from Jaune. Watts still has his evil smile as he steps onto Jaune's right wrist and points the launcher right into Jaune's face.

"That's good, Arc. But not good enough. Enjoy the view?" Jaune's reply isn't verbal as he slams the 'down' button with his left arm. Watts is unsteady on his feet as the elevator descends before Jaune hits the 'stop' button, prompting Watts to fall out of the elevator. "Aaaggghhh!"

As he hits the ground, he hears his spiders activating their programming. In horror of what that programming is, he tries edging away from them. Only for them to follow him intently. One by one, they extend their needles into him.

"YES! JUSTICE!" Watts can only be in disbelief as he's the only person, next to Adrian as his eyes and ears are still covered, to not yell out as he looks to Salem. Getting her attention.

"That's what happens when you program evil into machines, Watts. It turns around and injects you with acid." Blinking, she shrugs and adds, "Or something like that. Ozpin?"

"Quite apt, Salem. Quite apt indeed." Taking a draw of coffee from his mug, he sighs happily.

Watts screams as the acid flows right into his veins and arteries before he seemingly succumbs to the lethal injection. His eyes open as vapor mists around the scene.

Up above, Pyrrha is holding Adrian, shielding his face from the grisly scene, before she notes the elevator control panel and pressing the down button. She then watches as the elevator lowers, Jaune still catching his breath, comes into view before it stops in front of them. Upon seeing Jaune, Adrian goes onto the elevator.

"Dad!" As the two hug, he happily murmurs as Pyrrha watches on.

"It's okay, son. It's okay." Looking at Pyrrha, he adds, "Thanks." Faintly smiling, she steps on as well before speaking.

"You all right?"

"Yeah, I'm okay."

Nodding, she presses the 'down' button again. As the elevator finishes descending, all three are greatly relieved when the spiders don't make their way to them. As they exit, Adrian looks at the scene before Jaune speaks again.

"Adrian, you go to the car. Tell Weiss you're all right."

Weiss' eyes drip tears anew before she thinks.

'He doesn't know my other didn't survive.' She then frowns before noting one other detail. 'The spiders haven't self-destructed yet. Could it be that they only self-destruct at a flatline?'

Pyrrha gently ruffles Adrian's head as she eases him away from the scene as Jaune picks up his backup piece and puts it back into its holster. As the mist dissipates, the spiders still chittering, Jaune can see Watts lying still. Edging his way forward, he makes to check for a pulse. Only for Watts to lunge forward at him.

"YYYAAAHHH!"

The sight gets all to jump in fright. Not even Watts is immune as he feels his 'heart' beating rapidly.

'If this is what having a "heart attack" feels like… I don't like it.'

Just as quickly, however, Watts falls back down and stills before the spiders start self-destructing one by one. As sparks fly and dark smoke billows around the corpse, Jaune heaves a sigh of relief before turning around and seeing Pyrrha gazing at him.

Stepping toward her, he stops shy of her before she speaks.

"You look awful." Lightly touching his face in a non-burnt area, she grimaces before he gives his reply.

"I think I've overcome my fear of heights." Still grimacing at the sight, Pyrrha goes on.

"Hurt much?" As Pyrrha's hand moves to the other side of his face, he gives his reply.

"No, it's alright. I'll get it taken care of." As her fingers gently graze his face still, Pyrrha gives one more query.

"How about dinner?" Lightly blinking at the question from out of nowhere, he looks back at her.

"Dinner?"

"Sure." As she rubs his hair, Jaune starts puzzling it out before having a sneaking suspicion.

"Just because you're a woman shouldn't make a difference, right?" Starting to beam, Pyrrha's reply is soft.

"Right." Slowly, the two inch their faces close together before their lips meet in a passionate kiss.

"YYYEEEAAAHHH!" Pyrrha's blush intensifies, Jaune blushing as well, at Nora's yell as their hyperactive teammate goes on, "After all this time, 'Arkos' has set sail!"

"Nora!"

Reluctantly ending the kiss, Jaune lightly touches Pyrrha's nose, getting a soft smile from her before he poses an extra query to her.

"Can you cook?"

"Try me." At that, the two embrace and start kissing deeply again. As sparks from the welding robots rain down around them, they alternate between breathing and kissing. As the screen goes black, they're still kissing as the sparks rain down around them.

Applause reigns in the realm as a grumpy Jacques reluctantly gives polite applause. The Brother Gods, however, both pout in the fact they have no power still and missed half of the movie as they both found what they managed to catch interesting before the God of Light makes a query.

"What exactly did we miss?"

"I'll send you the rundown in your heads." At the reply from 'Racer', the Brother Gods are soon reeling with the barebones basics. Quickly enough, they recover before the God of Darkness poses his own query.

"Was the man that Sergeant Arc was unable to apprehend ever caught?"

"As far as known, no. However, the hunt is still ongoing."

"Well, as long the hunt's still ongoing, it's just a matter of time until that person's caught." Stretching out her arms, Yang springs out of her seat and grins widely, ready to do a pun. However, Cinder bears her to the punch.

"I've heard of sparks flying between people, but not raining." Or tries to, anyway. At Yang scrunching her face in thought, Cinder asks, "Was it that bad?"

"It was… kinda weak. But don't worry. Dad and I'll teach you the way of the pun." As Taiyang nods, Raven and Qrow both facepalm and, upon seeing her EAF cringing, Cinder lightly grins.

"I look forward to it."

Adam and Whitley, however, go to 'Racer' before Adam makes his query.

"Is there any type of… facility that facilitates education, 'Racer'? Whitley's expressed an interest in welding and…" At the 'stop' hand-sign from 'Racer', Adam does so before getting the reply.

"There is, in fact. However, I can only spare thirty minutes while the equipment cools before the next movie starts."

"I understand." Tapping his chin in thought, he goes on. "I guess it'll have to be a 15-minute briefing on the different types of welders out there. What they can or can't weld, the types of welding flux…"

"Such diversity in welding." Whitley's awed words get a grinning nod of agreement from Adam before Jacques speaks again.

"You can't possibly be serious, Whitley."

"Oh, but I am, Father. 'Racer', which way to the facility?"

"Just over there." As 'Racer' indicates, Whitley and Adam look before seeing 'Educational Facilities' over a doorway ten feet away from the restrooms.

"Great. Let's go, Whitley. This is gonna be great." Nodding eagerly, Whitley and Adam walk side-by-side, leaving Jacques to gape in shock before gritting his teeth.

(Twenty minutes later)

As Sienna, Blake, Ghira, Kali, Ilia and a freshly-returned Adam converse about what they'd seen so far, along with how his first welding tutorial for Whitley went, Corsac and Fennec Albain stride up to them, clad in their robes, their hands in prayer pose. Ghira notices them before nodding.

"What troubles you both?"

"Chieftain Belladonna, High Leader Khan, how long must we… be here?" Corsac, his tail parallel to the ground, nods in agreement as Fennec, his ears out in the open, goes on. "While it's refreshing to see a movie that has Faunus and regular humans working together, none of it is real."

"Maybe, Fennec, but it's a possibility. And… even if it isn't real… it gives us something to look forward to. All the trials and tribulations make it worthwhile." At Ghira's words, Corsac lightly frowns before looking to Adam.

"What of you, Brother Taurus? Having such a restriction placed on you much like humanity has most of your life."

"It's actually… quite refreshing. Being able to leave such pettiness outside a neutral ground. Even Whitley Schnee's pleasant company. It's too bad it has to end when we leave here."

"Who says it has to end, Adam?" Blake's query gets his attention as Ilia nods her agreement. "Sure, both sides have bad opinions of each other and, sometimes, themselves. But it is possible. We just have to keep doing what we can to let the rest of humanity know that we're as human as they are." Both Albain brothers gasp in sheer shock at her audacity before Corsac speaks.

"Sister Blake, you dare speak such… heresy?!"

"It's not heresy if it's true. Regular humans and Faunus are close to each other biologically. We just have something extra." Fennec senses an opportunity and takes it.

"Which makes us superior to regular humans." The Belladonnas, Adam, Ilia and Sienna all blink before looking to each other. Kali taking it.

"Sienna… was that how you felt when Ghira stepped down?"

"No… I too sought peaceful relations between our two races. But with some force to tell the normal humans that we will not be bullied. It was never about dominance over regular humans." Adam nods, chiming in himself.

"I didn't start thinking that way until after…" His eyes going wide as he looks over at the Albain brothers. "…I heard them speak. I thought about what I'd suffered through and it… oh Oum. Oh my Oum." Adam starts shaking lightly before backing away from Blake.

"Adam?"

"You were right to leave me on that train, Blake. I've become… a monster."

"It's not too late, Adam."

"It is, Blake… I've done too much, I've planned too much… I need to speak to 'Racer'… see if he can send me back to Remnant… frozen in time."

"There's always a way to stop, Adam. You just need to be willing."

"You heard what Brother Adam said, Sister Blake. It is far too late." Corsac nods in agreement at Fennec's words.

"Nope!" At the cheerfully blunt reply from 'Racer', they all turn and see that everyone's watching them. "There's still time, Adam. Think it over. You were used by the Albains in their madness. But, that'll have to be later for we do have another movie to watch." Nodding, Adam and the others, save the Albain brothers, go back to their seats. Leaving the brothers with 'Racer' in an intense face-off before Corsac speaks.

"What could the likes of you possibly say to a better?"

"If you were truly a better, I wouldn't be looking at you with sympathy. While I don't know what you and your brother went through, what you're using is wrong. But, like I said, we'll get into it later. Back into your seats." Fennec can only be irate at that.

"You dare order us like we're pets?!"

"Nope. Remember, you're in my realm. Without your auras and semblances, you're all equal to each other." Unable to retort as 'Racer' walks away, Corsac and Fennec both return to their seats in time for Caroline Cordovin to speak up.

"So, 'Racer'… what movie is next?"

"Another classic. Universal Soldier." With that, 'Racer' starts the next movie.
