Spoiled Milk
Edward didn't hate milk; he quite liked it. But Alphonse loved it. I can't drink it, when he can't have it.
--
Edward and his brother Alphonse both liked milk, although Alphonse was the one who was up at all hours drinking the stuff. Edward would drink it willingly, but he wasn't the fanatic Alphonse was.
He hated it now.
He hated how every time a glass came towards him, Alphonse would say, "Just drink your milk, Brother," with a hint of longing, unnoticeable to everyone but Edward.
He couldn't—wouldn't, didn't—let his brother suffer by watching him enjoy his favorite beverage. So Edward refused to drink it. I can't drink it, when he can't have it.
And he made a promise, that when Alphonse became human and flesh and blood again, that they would drink milk.
Together.
