Evan considered saying something, but he got the feeling that wouldn't be a good idea. He decided to enter one of the gift shops, and look for something to defend himself with, just in case.
Entering the second floor, he could see that it was trashed, it looks like someone already ransacked it, probably for merch. Picking up a small magnet with an orange elephant on it, Evan scoffed at himself.
"Figures." Pocketing the magnet, he walked downstairs. More of the same, shelves knocked over, product strewn all over, but the shop gates were still closed.
Evan walked over to a button on the wall and pressed it, and like the elevators before, it was out of power. He wondered how the lights were still on if the power in the doors wasn't working before going back upstairs and out of the gift shop.
He briefly looked over to the child care wing, before remembering how creepy he thought the weird mascot was over there, and walking back over to the gates.
Slowly hopping over them again, Evan checked the room for any signs of the figure he saw before. It was still empty. So he headed to the right and entered a set of double doors. Walking down the hallway, he came to the front security office.
Evan was able to get in without any trouble, and decided to begin looking in the drawers for something that could help him. He did find a flashlight in one of them, and using the charging station, he now had a light for the tunnels.
Once he finished charging it, Evan heard a banging coming from the door he had just come in through. He tried looking through the window at whatever it was, but all the lights were now out, so the only thing he could see was his own reflection.
The banging got more aggressive, so Evan decided to book it before the door gave out.
Evan exited the office, and found a stairwell leading down into the tunnels. Taking it without hesitation, he could hear the sounds of the guard station door being forced open.
He hastily made his way through the tunnels, most of the passages were chained up, or locked with a small speaker box. So he took the only open path he could see, another stairway leading up.
Running up the stairs, he could hear footsteps coming from the other end of the tunnel. Whatever this thing was, it was gaining.
Bursting out of the doors at the top of the stairs, Evan found himself in the hallway with all of the animatronic green rooms. Not wasting a second, he ran to the closest one, Freddy's.
Quickly slipping into the room, he closed the door behind him, made sure the curtains were drawn all the way, and hid under the desk. He heard footsteps enter the hallway just outside.
As they approached the room Evan was in, he held his breath. For several tense seconds neither of them moved, until the footsteps began walking away back towards the service tunnels again.
Evan took several deep breaths and got out from under the desk. His mind quickly flooded with questions: What was that thing? It sounded too heavy to be a person, but the robots were all taken out already, right?
Looking around the room, he decided that he needed to let his mind catch up for a moment. He sat down on the couch in the green room and put his head into my hands. What had he gotten himself into?
Jolting his head up to snap himself out of his second thoughts, he came to the conclusion that whatever that thing was, he didn't want to risk meeting it face to face.
So he couldn't go back through the tunnels now. Evan thought about going back to the atrium, but stopped when he realized that the green rooms connected backstage to parts and service.
He decided that his best bet would be to get to parts and service, and then access the rest of the utilidors. He could make my way to Monty Golf from there.
Standing back up, he opened the door to Freddy's backstage area and walked over to the elevator. He pressed the button, only to realize a moment later how stupid this plan was. The elevators were still not working.
Grunting in frustration, mostly at himself, Evan carefully exited Freddy's green room. Making his way down the hall, he seemed to be alone again, which allowed him time to get a good look around.
Evan didn't come in here much, he never had a reason to, the green rooms had no attractions, and he was never asked to work on animatronics directly. He noticed that Monty's green room was completely shut down, which he thought was odd. "Did no one fix him in the month and a half I was gone?"
Evan decided to check it out, he entered the Gator's Green Room only to find it pitch black inside, flipping on his flashlight he saw an unnerving sight. The walls were all torn up, the arcade machine in the corner was tipped over, various small items were scattered over the floor, even the couch was ripped into, its interior laying strewn around it.
Whatever that thing in the tunnels was, it had likely caused this, as well as the mess in the giftshop. That was enough reason to believe it wasn't friendly.
Evan walked back out into the hall again, it seemed like he had no choice but to enter the atrium. Walking over to the large door, He put his flashlight away and tried to raise it with his good arm. He barely managed to lift it a couple inches before he had to drop it.
"Guess I'm out of practice." Evan sighed, it looked like he would need to find yet another way out of here. He looked around and noticed an employee-only door. Seeing no better options, he opened it and walked through.
Behind it were some stairs leading up to a room with a couple doors marked with musical instruments. Continuing on, Evan found himself in a room with a bunch of monitors, probably the primary surveillance office.
The monitors all seemed to be powered on, but only some of them had live feeds, checking all of them, only the ones that showed the public areas were still running.
Evan looked through the cameras, finding nothing unusual, except for the main atrium camera. It was hard to make out any detail, but he saw something moving around in the middle.
Looking around for another camera, he found the one that looked at the gate that he was just at. Below it was a button, trying his luck yet again, he pressed it, expecting nothing. Evan was pleasantly surprised to find that the door began opening.
He was less excited when he saw the clawed hand pulling the door open from the bottom. Just as he could begin to see the figure on the other side, the camera feed cut to static. A few moments later, his heart sank as he heard the sound of the door dropping from back in the hallway.
Evan hoped that they wouldn't think to check in here, but he didn't want to trust it. He looked for another way out of the room. There were two other doors on the other side, but right before he could open them, Evan began to hear footsteps coming from behind them.
Moving back to the first set of doors only solidified his fears, a set of footsteps approaching from that side too confirmed that he was trapped. As he frantically paced back and forth, his foot hit something on the floor.
It was a large grate, for some reason he didn't have time to question, it was unscrewed from the floor. As he heard the doors on either side of him begin to creak as large jagged claws began to squeeze their way under, preparing to pull the doors up.
He moved the metal grate aside and hopped down, he couldn't close the grate from below, so he decided to just begin running. Moving down the twisting hallway as fast as he could, Evan felt a familiar aching sensation begin to return to my body.
Evan fumbled to grab the bottle of pain pills from his pocket as he kept moving as fast as he could. He heard a loud thud echo from the hallway behind him. They were still pursuing him. Evan had to keep running as the dull ache continued to mount, making it harder to breathe.
The sound of rapidly approaching footsteps forced his body into overdrive, giving him enough of a speed boost to make it to the end, reaching the door and practically throwing himself through it, hurriedly closing and locking it behind him.
Evan figured it would only give him a few seconds of time before they burst through so he continued running. Realizing he was in the Atrium, he ran towards Monty Golf, but stopped in his tracks when he looked to the center of the room.
The figure Evan saw in the center of the room on the camera before, he could see clearly now.
It was the Alligator Animatronic. It was crawling along the floor, its legs completely gone. It looked incredibly damaged, barely functioning.
It took notice of Evan as soon as he stopped, and the two of them looked at eachother, eyes wide in surprise. For just a split second Evan felt the sensation of falling again.
Then, all of the lights in the atrium went completely black.
