"Evan!" Monty shouted, his illuminated eyes were the only thing Evan could see in the pitch black.

"H-How?" Evan stuttered, still unsure of how it knew his name.

"Get on the stage, now!" It ordered, crawling frantically towards Evan.

Evan pulled out his flashlight, shining it at Monty as he approached. "Stay back!" His command was in vain, as the alligator continued his approach, Evan turned around, realizing that the alligator was chasing him towards the stage.

Not seeing any other options, he ran up onto the stage, almost smacking into a small podium on the front, he could see a button on top of it.

Just then, his attention was drawn to the abyss of the darkened atrium, a sinister laughter came from the expanse. "Naughty naughty."

He could hear Monty heave himself up on stage, launching himself next to Evan. "Hit the button! Now!" He shouted in desperation.

Evan slammed his hand down on the button and crouched down next to the podium. Scanning the area with his flashlight, he could hear more laughing, coming from the space almost directly above him.

The platform the two were on began to descend, Evan continued to search the air above him, not seeing anything. "What is happening?!" He desperately shouted.

"I can explain… once we get to a recharge station." Monty righted himself, and held himself off the floor with his decayed arms. "We can't let him catch us."

Evan was confused, nothing about this was remotely okay, but how did Monty know what was going on? Wasn't he just a children's mascot? A robot made for entertainment?

The elevator reached the bottom, as the two turned to begin running again, a tall pale figure dropped down right in front of them. Evan recognised him as the daycare attendant, Moondrop.

"Naughty Boy, you should be asleep! Here, let me help you!" Moondrop reached out his hands towards Evan's neck, but Evan fell backwards onto his back.

"Gah!" He shouted as a sharp pain shot up his spine. He wished he had a moment to take his pain killers, but Moondrop was already standing over him, staring down at him with glowing red eyes and cackling.

Just as he looked like he was going to descend upon Evan, Monty grabbed Moondrops leg and pulled it out from under him, causing him to lose his balance and fall on top of Monty.

"NO!" It shouted out in frustration. Grabbing onto Monty and beginning to worsen the breaks in his shell.

Evan stood back up, pulling the magnet he found in the giftshop out of his pocket, and slapping it onto the back of Moondrops head. The robot screeched, falling to the floor and desperately trying to rip off the magnet.

Monty looked up at Evan "Quickly, go!" He ordered, Evan hesitated for a moment before grabbing Montgomery and pulling him along. It was much faster than if he tried crawling by himself, and Evan still needed answers.

"What are you doing? Leave me, you have to run!" The alligator protested. Evan ignored his pleas and continued to lug him along, as Moondrop finally managed to tear the magnet from his head and throw it to the side.

"That's it!" He shouted, standing back up. "I've had enough of you rulebreakers!" He lunged at Evan once more, but this time he managed to dodge to the side, Moondrop flying right past him.

Unfortunately, this meant that Moondrop was now in between them and the recharge station.

"Shoot." Monty said. "Let me go, I can try to hold him long enough for you to run past and-."

"Sorry," Evan cut him off. "But as the only thing in here that's not trying to kill me, I'm not going to let this moon guy rip you apart."

"Oh, that's funny," Moondrop giggled "Because I'm ripping you in half first!" Moondrop leaped right up to Evan, and grabbed his prosthetic arm, beginning to spin him around by it.

"Evan!" Monty shouted, watching as Evan went flying, his arm remaining in Moondrops hands. He gleefully held it aloft like a trophy. "Oh what fun! His arm came off!"

Evan groaned, the landing had done him in, every breath he took sent a jolt of pain through his chest. He tried to stand back up, but couldn't. As Moondrop skipped over to him, all he could do was stare up at his looming assailant.

"Y'know, I think I'll start a collection of these things, would you mind if I took your other one?"

He grabbed Evan's other arm, and placed his foot on Evan's side.

Just then, Moondrop stopped moving. Looking down at his leg, he could see Monty's teeth planted firmly on his ankle. "Oh, you're sti-Augh!" He screamed as Monty began to spin, pulling Moondrop down to the ground, and making him release his grip on Evan.

Wasting no time, Monty sent Moondrop into a death roll, digging his teeth past the outer shell of Moondrops leg. He screamed in pain, and began smacking Monty's face with the arm.

Mustering up the last of his strength, Evan reached out and held Moondrops arms behind him. Monty seized this opportunity to release his grip and lunge at Moondrops face.

Moondrop screamed "Let me go! Let me go! Stop!" But his cries were cut short as Monty chomped down on his neck, immediately beginning to spin again.

The torque of his roll coupled with the pressure of his bite proved to be too much for the bot's neck, as it cracked and bent, the last thing Moondrop could do was say: "You monster!" With one last swift motion, Monty separated the head from the rest of Moondrops struggling body.

Spitting it to the side, Monty pulled himself off of the body as Evan let go, flopping back onto the floor.

Monty tried to say something to Evan, but as he opened his mouth, he fell limp. Whether it was from his extreme injuries, or from just running out of energy, Monty had powered down.

Evan breathed several shallow breaths, shifting to lying on his back, he pulled out his bottle of painkillers, and struggled to open it, eventually succeeding. Eating a couple, he waited for them to take effect.

He looked over at the unresponsive gator. He thought about what would have happened had he not been there. He tried nudging him, to raise him.

"Hey, Monty? Are you sleeping?" He stopped nudging him as the pain began to fade, replaced by drowsiness. "I don't know if you're still there, but… Thank you."

Evan tried to sit up, but was unable. "Guess it's my turn to be sorry. I… Never realized you were…"

Evan felt his consciousness drifting away as he placed his hand on Monty's back.
