Author's note: I edited this chapter to hopefully make it less jarring and dreary, and to specify when this chapter takes place.

Some nights ago, but not many…

Glamrock Freddy made a mad dash out of the elevator shaft, Moondrop was in close pursuit, but the end was in sight. Practically leaping down the stairs, he continued running to the front entrance, almost knocking down a staff bot sweeping the floor.

"Sorry!" He apologized, forcing his way through the entrance gates. He could see the entrance doors before him.

Moondrop dropped down, swaying between Freddy and his goal. "Hee hee hee, sorry, but I can't let you go this time!"

As he pranced closer, Freddy's chest cavity opened up, and a bright flash of light caused Moondrop to cover his eyes. "What the-"

Seizing his chance, Freddy grabbed Moondrop, and threw him back towards the gift shops.

Moondrop hit the ground with a dull thud, leaping back up in one swift motion. "Oh that is it, you are-" His sentence was cut off as the lights of the facility clicked back on. Moondrops form contorted as he shouted out in frustration, turning back into Sundrop.

"Oh my, what did I do this time?" He looks over at Freddy. "Apologies for the trouble I've caused. I hope I didn't hurt anyone."

"Don't worry, we are unharmed." Freddy waved goodbye as Sundrop began walking back to the daycare.

Turning back around, Freddy stood before the doors to the outside. Crouching down, he opened his chest cavity, and a small boy stepped out.

"Alright, we made it, we can leave now!" The boy says, looking up at Freddy.

"I-I'm sorry gregory. I cannot go with you. Without the recharge stations, my battery would only last a few hours at most. You need to get out of here and never return, I fear this place will never be safe." Freddy says, briefly looking over his shoulder.

"...What do you mean?" Gregory asks, uneasy.

"I feel like there is something going on, besides Vanny." Freddy replies, "I can't quite explain it, but it's as if there's a dark presence looming deep within place."

"Pretty sure you just described Vanny." Gregory comments. "But… I don't want to leave without you."

"Well, I suppose you may stay if you wish, and we can continue exploring, but it will be dangerous." Freddy says. He almost feels anxious as he tries to think of why he has this bad feeling.

"I've been fighting off crazy robots and a killer bunny all night. I think I can handle whatever this place can throw at me." Gregory says, feeling a bit of pride in all he has accomplished so far.

"People will keep disappearing if we don't do something. And I think I know where we can start." Gregory thinks back to the fazer blast arena, "We know where her hideout is, we can ambush her, and stop her."

"Good idea superstar!" Freddy ruffles Gregory's hair, "let's not waste any time, hop in."

Gregory climbs back into freddy's chest cavity as it closes, rushing off to the fazer blast arcade. If their plan was going to work, they had to be quick.

It didn't take the two long to reach their location, as they walked into the room with the tutorial bot, Freddy paused for a moment.

"What is it? Why did you stop?" Gregory asks.

"It's just- I still feel that this is cheating." Freddy says sheepishly.

"It's not cheating, we're not playing Fazer blaster, we're stopping Vanny from kidnapping more children." Gregory reassured the unsure bear.

"Right." Freddy steeled himself and continued onward.

The two entered the arena, Freddy walked along the wall, until he found a vent. "You should be able to get to the fazer blast security office through here." He said, opening his chest cavity.

Gregory dropped out and began unscrewing the vent cover. "Alright, and what are you going to do?"

"I'm going to stand guard, if she comes by, I'll buy you as much time as I can." Freddy stated as Gregory popped off the vent cover and crawled inside.

"Alright, just be careful." He said, making his way through the vent system.

"You too." Freddy said, beginning to walk up a nearby ramp to get a better vantage point.

Once up to a place where he could see the whole arena, he was shocked to see that inside the security office was Vanny. She looked down at him and spoke into a tablet: "Disassemble Freddy."

In a matter of moments, he was surrounded by Staff bots, but these ones looked different. They looked more sinister.

As two approached him from the front, Freddy took a fighting stance, he didn't want to hurt these bots, but he had to buy as much time as he could.

Taking a swing, he knocked one of the bots clear off it's treads, sending it off the side of the platform.

The other one grabbed his arm, and Freddy immediately swiped at it's arms with Monty's claws, breaking both of its arms enough to escape its grip.

Meanwhile, Gregory had just finished climbing through the vents, and was now in a server room of sorts. He could hear the sounds of footsteps nearby, signaling that one of the other animatronics was in here with him.

"Give up already!" The voice snarled, revealing itself as Roxanne wolf.

Gregory snuck in between two large machines, he knew that as long as he was quiet, he could bypass her without issue.

That was of course, until he caught his foot on wire, sending himself to his hands and knees as his flashlight clattered against the floor.

"There you are!" Roxy shouts, quickly closing the gap between herself and Gregory.

Seeing no other option, Gregory snatched up the flashlight and began running. Desperately looking around for another way out of the room.

Eventually seeing a door marked 'To office' He stood in front, and at the right moment, he leapt to the side, sending the enraged wolf through the door.

"Aaugh!" She shouted, standing back up, she turned around and quickly re-entered the room. Gregory threw his Faz-camera onto the ground, causing her to run away from the doorway, giving him enough time to run out to a spiral staircase.

Realizing she was tricked again, Roxy screamed with a fury not her own, and began chasing after Gregory again, flailing her arms towards the sounds of his hurried footsteps.

Gregory ran up the stairs, reaching a small gate which he hopped in one quick motion. Roxy, following close behind, didn't notice the gate until she tripped over it, landing face first on the other side with a loud clunk.

Freddy turned his attention away from his attackers to see Gregory running overhead, being chased by Roxanne. "Run gregory!" He shouts.

Unfortunately for him, this momentary distraction would be all the staff bots needed. One comes up beside him, and shoves him off of the platform.

Freddy desperately tries to grab onto something to stop his fall, but only succeeds in taking the bot that shoved him down as well. Smacking into the ground with a smash, Freddy tries to stand back up, but can't.

As more bots close in around him, he sends one final message to Gregory: "It's the tablet, use the tablet to turn the bots against Vanny!"

Gregory reaches the other end of the walkway, and enters the security office. Slamming the door shut, he quickly scans the room, finding the tablet on the desk.

Grabbing the tablet, he looks down through the room's large window, to his horror he sees Vanny standing over Freddy, several staff bots ripping him to pieces.

"You should have never helped that kid." Vanny said, giggling with glee. "Look where it got you."

Tears well up in the corner of Gregory's eyes. He shouts "Stop!" and presses the button on the tablet.

The staff bots immediately stop tearing apart the bear. Vanny looks at them confused, then slowly turns to look at the security office. Her eyes go wide as she sees Gregory holding the remote.

Gregory stares down at Vanny for a moment, before shouting in a fit of rage "Disassemble Vanny!" and pressing the button.

Vanny screams "Stop!" As the staff bots grab her by the arms. "I command you to stop!"

Her screams are in vain as she is dragged away kicking and screaming. Before the security office left her view, she looked up and saw someone else looking back at her. It was a young boy, wearing a striped black and gray shirt.

Meanwhile, Roxy finally broke through the security office doors, looking in the direction of Gregory as he said: "Roxanne, safety mode on."

Pressing the button right after, Roxxane's anger seemed to disappear immediately. She stood in the doorway of the security office, as her mind reeled to catch up with the order. To her it felt akin to waking up, memories of what she did came flooding back into her mind.

She fell to her knees, in a confusing daze. She was at a complete loss for words.

Gregory decided that even if she wasn't hunting him anymore, he still didn't want to stick around. He left out of another door, and made his way down to Freddy's shattered body. While he was on his way, he repeated his command to Roxy to the other two, wherever they were, they likely were having a similar reaction to being freed from Vanny's control.

As Gregory reached the arena, he ran over to Freddy's body. "Freddy!" He shouted.

"Gre-Gregory… Did we do it…?" It was amazing he was still awake, considering how much of him was strewn across the floor.

"We did it, We stopped Vanny! We have to get you to parts and service!" Gregory placed one of Freddy's arms over his shoulders and tried to lift. He didn't even budge.

"Gregory… It's okay..." Freddy held out his other hand, and patted Gregory on the head. "I'm pr-pr-proud of you, you saved the da-ay."

Gregory looked down at his friend. "No, we saved the day, Freddy."

Freddy lifted his other arm up and wiped the tears from Gregory's face. "I'm so-o-orry, but I don't think… I can get up-up-up." He does his best attempt at a smile.

"Don't worry, I'll find a way to get you fixed back up." Gregory says, taking a look at his wounds.

"I want you to kn-know that you-you are…" Freddy's servos begin powering down. "You're my super… Star…"

"Freddy… Freddy!" Gregory watches as his robotic protector powers down.

Gregory feels tears running down his face, wiping them off as he reminds himself: "I can fix this, I can bring him back… Of course, the tablet!"

He picks up the tablet at his side, looking at his reflection on the black screen. As he looks at himself, he sees someone standing behind him in the reflection, a rabbit.

He jolts up and looks around, but sees no one. Looking back down at the tablet, he can see the rabbit leaning over the railing, looking down at him.

He looks up at the walkway, but no one is there. He looks up at the walkway through the screen, and he can see the rabbit again, he points towards the security office.

Gregory rubs his eyes and cautiously makes his way back up to the security office. Peering in, no one is in there, but just as he is about to chalk the whole thing up to his lack of sleep, the arcade machine in the corner springs to life.

The yellow arcade machine, titled 'Princess Quest' shows a list of scores, but Gregory notices that the scores themselves showed words instead of numbers.

'He's not really dead.' The scores say. Gregory walks over to the machine, and stares at the screen, wondering if he was going crazy. He blinks and the scores change.

'He is in here.' Gregory rubs his eyes, could Freddy really be in this machine? Was he able to put his code into it before he died?

'Follow me.' The scores changed again, as Gregory mumbled "...What?" It didn't quite make sense to him, but he was used to bizarre occurrences by now.

The screen flashed 'Press start.' as Gregory wondered if he could really see Freddy again. It had to be worth a shot right? He really didn't want to be alone again.

Freddy had become his best friend, if he could find him in this machine, he could find a way to get him a new body. He had to try, if it was him who was in an arcade machine, Freddy wouldn't hesitate to save him.

He took a deep breath, and pressed the start button. The title appeared on the screen, 'Princess Quest.' It then slowly disappeared, being replaced with the words: "Happiest Day."

Gregory sets the tablet down, as the game begins loading.

In the reflection of the tablet, a yellow smiling rabbit wearing a purple vest and bowtie can be seen standing behind Gregory, his hands on the boy's shoulders.

The game finishes loading, and Gregory begins playing.
