Tony's p.o.v. 25 years ago.

I place my arms on the crib and rest my head on them, looking at the peacefully sleeping baby.

"Why would somebody leave a baby?", I ask my mother, who's sitting on a chair next to it.

"Sometimes people are not prepared to have a child.", she tells in her soft voice.

I frown, "Why would you make a baby if you are not prepared?"

"People do a lot of unexplainable things, Tony."

"Are we... keeping her?"

"Would you like that?", she carefully asks.

I press my lips together before speaking, "Well, ti be honest, I never wanted a brother or a sister but we can't leave her, can we?"

My mother smiles, "No, we can't. I'm sure you two are going to get along quite well."

I make a face, "I don't know. She does do an awful lot of crying."

"Well you also cried when you where that little.", she speaks and I raise my head, looking at her, "Not THAT much, I'm sure."

She smiles, "Even more."

She informs me and I look back into the crib.

"Come on dear, it's time for bed."

"When is dad coming home?", I ask, removing myself from the sleeping baby.

"Later. He has an important meeting."

I sigh, walking towards the door, "He always has an important meeting."

Two years later

"No Evie, give it back!", I yell, pulling one side of my train tracks while she holds the other.

"No!", she tells, frowning.

"You can't play with it, you'll break it and I need it for an experiment. GIVE IT BACK!", I say, pulling harder but she doesn't let go.

"MOM! Evie is being annoying again!", I yell, hoping someone will come to the rescue.

"What's going on?", I hear my fathers voice along with the heavy footsteps.

"She's taking my stuff again.", I say, finally pulling the train tracks out of her hands.

"You have to learn how to share, Tony.", he tells me and I frown, "I'm not sharing anything with her! She always breaks my stuff."

"You being bad.", Evie tells, lifting her index finger up.

"It's 'You are being bad', learn how to speak already. And I'm not being bad, you are being annoying."

"Tony, behave.", dad tells in his strict voice.

"Why am I always the bad guy?"

"Your sister is still too young to understand how she should behave, she's learning and you are older, you know the rules."

"I don't want her here anymore. Why did we have to take her? She's only causing problems. My life was better without her."

"Enough!", my father speaks and I jump a little.

"Come with me.", he tells me.

"But-"

"Now Anthony."

"Thanks a lot.", I say to Evie and follow my father out of the room.

We enter his office and I sit on a chair.

"Evelyn is your sister.", he tells me.

"No she's not.", I speak back.

"Yes she is. She is your sister and we are her parents. Period. The same way you are our son. She is a Stark and she will always be a Stark. And you, as her big brother, will always love her and protect her. Do you understand?"

"I want to be alone.", I say, hearing the door of my room open.

Evie walks in and sits next to me on my bed.

"I said I want to be alone.", I say, taking one of my comics.

"You mad?", she asks sheepishly.

"Yes, I'm mad at you.", I reply, placing the coming in front of me face so I can't see her.

"I'm sorry."

I frown, "No you're not."

"Lying bad. I'm sorry.", she repeats herself and I sigh, realizing she won't leave me alone, "Fine. You're forgiven. Now go away."

"I have gift for you.", she speaks and I lower my comic, looking at her dog stuff animal in her hand.

"You can't sleep without Bubby.", I remind her.

"I can't sleep if you be mad.", she states, handing me Bubby.

I take the dog and look at it. It's dirty and full of her saliva so I don't really want to hold it.

She moves closer to me and cups my face, placing her nose beside mine, "I love you."

I don't say anything so she moves away and frowns, "I love you. You say too I love you."

I sigh, "I love you."

She tilts her head, "Mean it."

I frown at her words.

"Mean it.", she repeats.

"I love you, Evie.", I say after a few seconds and she smiles.

Present

She always knew how to sweet-talk herself away from any bullshit she pulled. And it worked. And I hated that. I thought that, with years, I would be immune to it. Older, smarter, harder to manipulate. Shit. Nothing. It never changed. She put a spell on me that day she told me that she loved me and, since then, anything she did, no matter how hard we fought or disagreed, she never left the center of my heart.

I remember being pissed at my father when he died. For numerous reasons... one being, he never told Evelyn, the truth. I felt like he took the easy way out, leaving me to resolve something I didn't want to be a part of. Part of me knew she deserved to know but, how to tell someone, who lost their parents, that the people she mourned where not her parents. As time passed, it became more complicated so, at the end, I thought... why? Why to ruin her with the truth? Besides, I think that my parents didn't mean to tell her after all. Even if I did tell her, what would have changed? She's a Stark and will always be a Stark.

I start to panic. Thoughts piling up in my head and it's hard to distinguish useful ones from bullshit. How the hell did she found out? No one knew but me. Not Pepper, not Happy. Just me and ...Fury. I immediately look at him. Did he tell her? Is he the one that told her? But when? He's been with us all along. Maybe the wizard, maybe Fury told him and he told her.

"Are you gonna say something?", she asks, looking at me.

"I... don't know what you're talking about.", I blur out the worst thing I could say.

Her eyes widen and she raises her eyebrows, "Are you serious right now?"

"Evie, I-"

"You lied to me. Every day, for the last twenty-five years. You lied to me Tony. The best days of my life where a lie.", she states, tears forming in her eyes.

I didn't say anything. What can I even say?

"From all the people in the world, I trusted you the most. And what did you do? Stab me in the back.", her sadness is overflown with anger.

"Evie.", Steve stands up and puts his hand on her shoulder but she pushes it away.

"Don't touch me! Did you knew?", she asks, looking at me.

"I swear to God Evie that I didn't know anything."

"But Fury knew. You knew.", she says, pointing her finger at him.

"It's not my place Evelyn. It never was.", he informs her calmly.

Thanks a lot man.

"But it was your place.", she shifts back to me.

"And you didn't say anything. Thanks Tony, thanks a lot.", her voice cracks and she storms out of the room.

Severus stands up and rushes after her, followed by Steve taking a few steps as well when the wizard speaks, "Leave him.", he tells us.

I didn't do anything. Just stand there, unable to move, watching my worst nightmare come to life in front of my eyes.

"This dinner party is way more fun than I thought it would be. Zero regrets.", Loki comments with a smile.

"Shut up.", Nat tells him.

Severus's p.o.v.

"Evelyn!", I yell, running after her.

"Leave me alone!"

I finally grab her arm and turn her towards me.

"Don't run away from me. Please.", I say, looking into her teary eyes.

"I just... I don't want to be here anymore.", she speaks silently, her voice cracking after every word."

"Come with me.", I say, pulling her with me.

I just may know the place where she can feel safe.

"I lost myself. Today, I lost myself and it took five seconds to do it. I don't even know who am I anymore. Sure not Evelyn Stark.", she speaks, lifting a bottle of wine and drinking from it.

Her apartment had a good vibe and the sound of wood cracking in the fireplace gave a calming emotion.

"Blood doesn't define you.", I carefully say and she frowns, "Bullshit."

"You are intelligent, kind, honest, hard working, beautiful, persistent, ambitious, caring, forgiving, understanding."

She smiles, "That's a lot of compliments."

"And yet not enough."

"I hate him.", she tells, her face being serious again.

"Anger and hate are two different things. Hate is not something your hart knows."

"Why are you defending him?"

"I'm not defending him, I'm protecting you from more damage. He lied and he's guilty of that, but hating him will only damage you, and only you. Trust me, I know."

"I just ...I just feel so lost.", her eyes water up again.

"I know.", I say, taking her into my arms.

"I'm always going to be here. Always."

After a few minutes, she moves away and takes her bottle once again.

"I'm resigning tomorrow. In Stark Industries.", she informs me.

"Why?"

"It's a family company.", she simply tells.

"Evie, look at me.", I say and her eyes meet mine.

"Granger has an non-magical family, but she is still a wizard. Does that make her any less of a wizard than Potter or Malfoy, who are pure-bloods?"

"No.", she tells me after a few seconds of thinking.

"I'm a fall-blood, meaning my mother was a wizard and my father was not. Does that make me less of a wizard?"

"No."

"Blood doesn't define you. You are a Stark, you where raised as a Stark. Biology doesn't make a family, again, trust me... love does. You always talked about your parents with love and respect. Keep that. If anything, they where the ones who should have told you about your adoption. Tony was, in a way, a victim of circumstances. He didn't play his cards right but maybe he didn't know better. Maybe he was afraid. Maybe he didn't want to hurt you. he did hurt you in the end, more deeply but, it wasn't intentional. You told me that you never judge people by their worst mistakes."

She sighs, "Why are you using my own crap against me?"

"Because it's not crap. You are with me and I did a lot of bad things."

"Yea, but Tony-"

"I killed people, Evelyn.", I interrupt her and she looks at me, a bit shocked.

"I tortured people, ruined lives, did horrible things in the name of the Dark Lord. Why did you give me a chance? Because honestly, I didn't deserve it."

"But, you are good.", she tells me.

"And Tony isn't? Does a mistake define you, label you for as long as you live? I'm not saying don't be mad at him, I'm saying give him a chance to explain. The explanation will be bad, I suppose but hear him out. You heard me out. Many people didn't and won't. No matter how hard I try, I will always be a death eater. Sirius doesn't care what I do now, he cares about what I did and that's enough for him. Think about it. Please."

She had a few big sips as I was talking and I can see the alcohol hit her.

"You're smart.", she states.

"Thank you."

"Why are you so smart?"

"I... don't know."

"I... care for you.", she tells me with a smile.

"I'm glad you do."

"Do you wanna have kids?", she suddenly asks and I choke on my sip of wine.

"What?"

"Do you... want... to have children?"

"You do understand that this is a heavy shift of the subject?"

"Just answer the question."

"I never saw myself in a parental role but then again, I never saw myself with anyone else but Lily. My father was abusive and I always feared that, if I become a father, I wouldn't know how to be one. But hey, with you, sure, why not."

"You do know that, in order to have children, we need to have sex."

"I understand how it works.", I say, lifting my eyebrow.

"Then?" she asks, sitting up straight.

"Okay, you need to go to sleep.", I say, standing up and offering her my hand.

"No!", she slaps it away and stands up on her own.

"I need... a shower.", she states drunkenly.

"Will you manage on your own?", I ask and she smirks, "You're always welcome to join me."

"The offer sure is tempting, but not today."

She rolls her eyes, "Sure, sure.", and walks into the bathroom.

It took her a while before getting into the shower, I know because I hear the water running and all that time I kept thinking: why am I so afraid of intimacy? Any other man would be delighted to hear her offer and take it in a blink of an eye. What the hell is wrong with me?

I finish my glass of wine in a few big sips, big mistake, and stand up, making a decision in my head. I start to undo the shirt buttons when I hear a loud crash.

"Everything okay?", I ask loudly.

"I slipped! My arm hurts.", she informs me.

"Jesus Christ."

I walk in and see her on the floor.

"Come on.", I say, turning the water off and helping her get up.

"Shit.", she comments.

"Can you stand?", I ask and she nods.

Grabbing a towel, I wrapped it around her and lead her towards her bed.

"Lay down, I'm going to get my wand.", I say.

"What for?"

"To heal you as much as I can."

After getting my wand, I go back and sit in a chair next to her bed. Pointing my want at her arm, I say, "Brackium Emendo."

She lifts her arm and looks at it, "Wow."

"All done. Now get some rest."

"I still need to dress myself.", she informs me, standing up.

"Thank you.", she tells with a smile, "For everything.", and kisses me right before seeing my shirt half undone.

"After some consideration, I decided to take your offer but, you slipped."

"Damn.", she whispers and I smile, "Better luck next time."

"Sometimes I feel like I have to win you over.", she comments and I shrug, "What can I say, I'm hard to get."

After we both get into our clothes for sleep, her by going trough her closet and me by using magic, we lay down.

"What do I do with Tony?", she suddenly asks.

"Talk to him.", I say.

"What do I do with myself?"

"Nothing. Stay the way you are. I will be with you for every part of your new journey.", I say, kissing her forehead.

"Thank you.", she tells, snuggling into my arms and falling asleep soon after.
