Back in parts and service, N was repairing Montgomery Gator after his fight with one of the monsters.
"So…" Monty says, trying to find something to talk about, "You sure know a lot about mechanics, I didn't know they taught that sort of stuff to us now."
N looks up from what he's doing. "Typically, they don't… They made an exception for me though."
"What, were you specially made or something?" He asked.
"No… I think I was just the only one who was aware enough to wonder what they were doing, and they appreciated the extra help." N explained, "I didn't think it would come in handy this quickly."
"Heheh… Yeah, sorry…" Monty apologized.
"Why are you apologizing? You were attacked." N stated, inserting new wiring into Monty's arms.
Monty sighed, no matter what he did, he always felt like he was breaking things, first it was just cardboard cutouts in Monty golf, but then it was Bonnie, then Evan, and now… He forced himself to stop thinking about it for a moment.
"Hey N, did you… Know Evan?" Monty asked, he had a suspicion, but he still wanted to know.
"Yeah, we used to talk… But I don't think he ever realized who I was." N said.
"What do you think of him?"
"I think he's a good kid, although he has a habit of pushing himself too far when he doesn't need to. And I don't think he ever figured out that you all were actually sentient." N stood up and walked over to a large tub labeled 'Monty shell'
"That would explain why he never spoke to any of us…" Monty said, looking over at Evan's sleeping body lying on one of the tables.
"Well, he certainly knows now." N said, picking up the arm shells, "There's just one thing I don't get: What happened to him?"
Monty froze as N walked back over to him, preparing to replace the outer shells of his arms.
"He suddenly stopped talking to me a little while before the pizzeria closed. I was worried something bad happened to him, like he got-" N stops himself, chuckling. "I'm a bit of a worrywart I guess."
"I…" Monty stares at Evan's body. "He had a bad fall." He didn't want to admit out loud that he crushed him, as if revealing that fact would be admitting that he was just a monster, meant to hurt others.
"Ah, well, I'm just glad he's stable now." N finishes applying the shell and stands back to admire his handiwork. "Alright, you're good as new, again."
Monty stands up. "Thanks, I'll try not to wreck myself again..."
Just before N can assure Monty that it wasn't any trouble, a loud clattering is heard from one of the connecting halls.
"What was that?" Monty says, baring his teeth.
"Could they? No, this was supposed to be a safe place." N exclaims, as the two hear a loud thud.
N shakes his head, "Monty, take Evan and get out of here!" He shouts, running over to where Evan was laying.
"Wait, but what about-" Monty starts,
"Quickly, over here!" N shouts, waving Monty over. As he approaches, N begins unplugging the headset from the console, grabbing Monty and turning him around, he hastily opens up his back panel and begins plugging the headset in.
"What are you doing?" Monty shouts, unsure of what will happen to him.
"I have to keep the headset powered, so I'm using your battery as a backup until you can get him to a recharge station." He explains, as he finishes transferring the headset.
"But how do I plug it into the recharge station? I can't even reach my back!" Monty exclaims, panicking slightly.
"Go to the recharge station just outside of the daycare, I'll meet up with you there." He says, "Now pick up Evan, and go!"
Monty picks up Evan, carrying him in his arms. "What about you?"
"I'll be fine, just go!" He shouts as Monty takes off for the elevators.
N hears the heavy footsteps of one of the monsters approach as Monty runs out of sight. He just has to hope that he can buy enough time for them to get away.
Turning to face the footfalls, N sees a large purple rabbit with razor sharp teeth and claws enter the room, staring him down with beady purple eyes.
N nervously chuckles. "I've heard of fun-house mirrors before, but you take the cake."
The creature slowly approaches N, his towering height becoming more apparent with each step closer to the Endoskeleton.
N knows that he stands no chance against the monster, one well placed strike could destroy him, but he continues to stand in its way.
He throws his arms out to his sides, "You're not going anywhere buddy, not while I'm here."
The monster grabs N's head, and N closes his eyes preparing to be crushed.
He feels the monster toss him to the side, before it keeps moving.
N stands up and brushes himself off, he wasn't expecting it to spare him. The creature begins trudging his way to the elevators.
"Hey, don't go over there!" N shouts, grabbing the beast's arm. It turns around and screams at N, pulling its arm back.
"Geez…" N says, partially stunned. He didn't understand why it wasn't attacking him, but he still wasn't going to sit by and watch it attack the others.
He took a couple steps back and observed it, as it continued to walk to the elevators. It didn't seem to be in the best condition, as it had holes in its shell all over, including a large one in the middle of its chest. If he could figure out how to access its chest without it shoving him to the side, he could disable it.
Thinking quickly, N grabbed a cart of tools, and pushed it into the monster's path. As expected, it simply shoved it to the side again.
N suspected that it had a limited selection of targets it was pursuing. He glanced over at the Monty Parts he was working with.
"Alright you freak of robotics, if it's Monty you want…" He said, picking up a head shell and carefully attaching it to his own endoskeleton head. "Then that's what you'll get!" He said in a gruff voice, similar to the Gators.
"Hey, scrap for brains!" He shouted, causing the monster to stop in its tracks and stare at him.
"Rock and roll!" N yelled to the monster, taking a fighting stance.
The monster's eyes seemed to focus, right before it began running at the endoskeleton. N panicked, and began running away, leading it out of parts and service and down the hall.
"This was a bad idea!" N yelled, running as fast as he could away from the monster. It was steadily gaining on him, and he had no idea what he should try and do next.
As he turned the corner, he came face to face with a closed shutter door. Whipping around, he was grabbed by the neck by the large terrifying rabbit.
It held N aloft as it reached towards his exposed middle. It grabbed N's wiring, and began to rip it out.
But before it could gut N, it began stuttering. It dropped N as it began convulsing, letting out a pained groan. N watched as the beast turned around, only for a loud ripping sound to echo as it fell over.
As it fell to the floor, N saw a cloaked figure standing on the other side of the fallen beast. He knew that this figure must have disabled the monster, but he couldn't quite understand what he was seeing.
"Freddy..?" Was all he could sputter out.
Foxy, Chica, and Roxanne walked through the atrium, searching for their missing friend.
"Where do you think we should go now? The greenrooms?" Chica asked.
"No, we came from there and never saw Freddy. I think Fazer Blast should be our next stop." Roxy stated.
Foxy nodded, "It's worth a try, maybe he got lost in the maze."
Roxy snickered, "Yeah, he probably accidentally started a game alone, and now he can't leave cause it would break one of his precious rules."
The three laughed as they started making their way towards Fazer Blast, unaware of the person watching them from the upper balcony.
The figure wore a paper mask depicting a black rabbit with white stripes running down the sides of its face, and a purple zipped up purple hoodie that seemed to be a bit too big on him. He held his watch closer to his mouth and spoke.
"Those three are heading towards Fazer Blast, I think they deserve a welcome party, give me two and we'll play a little game."
An affirmative beep responded as the figure began laughing, before stepping away from the railing of the balcony.
"This'll be fun." He gleefully stated.
